Hi Bex! I was hoping to come to you with something that’s been going on lately and I’m not really sure what it means.

I used to be quite sexually active but lately I just don’t have any interest in it anymore. Masturbating, I love. The thought of sex, I love. Fantasizing about having sex, I love. Alright so a massive grain of salt as per usual with any advice I give, but, perhaps, you haven't had good sex.

Like you saying that it never felt good, didn't make you feel good, and you didn't connect with the people you had it with leaves me with two feelings, you haven't had good sex, or sex just isn't for you. There are a lot of people with interest in sex in the abstract, and that is fine! You being into masturbation makes sense because you can engage sexually and know how you satisfy yourself.

Or again it could be the other side of it, you could have just not found a partner who is a good sexual fit for you yet. A big factor in a lot of people's sincere sexual enjoyment that more people do not talk about is, age. A ton of people find greater sexual enjoyment as they age, get more comfortable with themselves, more confident, better know what they want and as their bodies age and different hormones come into play.

In that case, if you do want to try again, there is no rush or timetable on that, taking a time out on that might be what you need, people's sexual energy can wax and wane, ebb and flow and there's nothing wrong with that.
