The death of Primrose Everdeen was the worst thing to ever happen to Katniss.

Katniss tried and tried again to protect her all for her to die in the very end. All her best efforts had ended in vain; she had finally lost the one person she wholeheartedly loved. The one person who reminded her of innocence.

It was hard for you to see Katniss bottle up her feelings. It had been a few days since you both had come back to District 12 in the Victor's Village.

Katniss had not opened up one bit but you weren't surprised. You've know Katniss your entire life and you knew she thought that emotion was 'weakness'. She also know you had loses as well; she wanted to be the strong one.

You were both sitting on the couch; you were reading whilst Katniss was staring blank ahead, seemingly in deep thought.

"Katniss."

She didn't look your way. You slowly touched her hand, startling her before she sighed.

"Katniss, how are you... how are you feeling?" You whispered. You'd been holding off this question since you'd gotten home. You didn't want to suffocate her and she needed time. But you were worried.

"Fine, Y/N. Just tired." She said, her voice monotone. You looked unconvinced but she gave you a tired smile. You sighed and nodded.

"Okay, you can take a nap. I'll be right upstairs, okay?"

She nodded as you walked away and she took you up on that offer, falling asleep on the couch.

Not even 5 minutes go by and she hears some clattering in the kitchen. She got up slowly, walking into the kitchen and Prim's cat, Buttercup.

Her heart dropped, her body becoming suddenly tense as she looked at the cat. It meowed.

"She's gone." Katniss said sternly. The cat meowed again, making Katniss become upset. "Get out."

"Get out! She's gone!" Katniss had become overwhelmed with emotion, taking a glass and throwing at the orange cat. "Prim is gone!"

You heard the shouts from downstairs, making you jump and you ran downstairs, your heart beating fast and you feel like you're back in the war again. You saw Katniss throwing the glass and you ran to her.

"Katniss!"

She ignored you, taking another glass and throwing it at the cat. "She's dead! And she's not coming back!" She screamed, her eyes and face red with emotion at this point. You tried your best to hold back a sob as you saw your lover in so much pain.

You grabbed her arm as she screamed, "Get out! Get out!"

The cat, surprisingly, was still in the house, stubborn. She immediately leaned on the counter as she sobbed. You grabbed her shoulder and she turned around, leaning into you as she sobbed harder and harder.

You put a hand on her face, watching as her lips tremble and her eyes puffy with tears. You embraced her tightly, caressing her hair slowly as you shushed her. "I'm here, I'm here, it's okay. I'm here, I'm with you."

Your presence calmed her as she took some deep breathes. "You're safe with me honey, don't worry. I'm here. You don't have to be brave with me, okay?"

She moved her face into your neck, sniffling as she embraced you. You felt her calm more and more as her breathing became more normal. You kissed her head comfortingly. "I love you, Kitty."

She let of your embrace, looking back at the orange act, her lips trembling once more.

She started petting it as it meowed again, leaning into her touch. She then grabbed it, hugging it as she started to cry once more. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

You then turned her around, grabbing her face and wiping her tears with your finger. "You didn't do anything wrong."

She knew that you didn't mean with just with the cat. She knew that you knew that she felt guilty for Prim's death. As she surveyed your face and your eyes, she was suddenly met with an intense feeling of gratefulness.

She was thankful for whatever higher power had sent you to her. She knew that she wouldn't have survived with you. She leaned in, pressing her lips against yours in a tight kiss.

"I love you." She whispered. You smiled as you looked down and pet Buttercup, looking back up at Katniss.

"I love you, too, Kitty."

OKAY SO WARRIOR CATS RIGHT??

Sometimes I catch myself thinking about how batshit crazy it’d be to be some sort of wildlife researcher in the Warrior cats world because you got what appears to be a case of a non-primate animal on the cusp of entering kitty cat Stone Age civilization. They don’t exactly have tools (yet) but they’re already showing SEVERAL signs of getting close to being an early civilization if not already straight up being one- like they already got organized kitty religion with ideas of kitty heaven and kitty hell, they got organized feline government with a very clear ranking system and social classes- AND specialized jobs. I don’t think they have art and writing- yet. Like you got the Leaders who do the whole leading shebang, the Deputies who make sure that the whole camp doesn’t fall into chaos and disorder, who also organize hunting parties, camp duties, and patrols, the Medicine Cats who act as BOTH a healer and the clan’s communication line to Starclan (pussy priest)

The Warriors who do all the basic clan duties such as hunting, patrolling the borders, and protecting the clan- and are kinda also the military? Mewlitary??? The Apprentices who are the Warriors in training, and take care of the clan chores that nobody else wants to do lmao.

And then there’s Queens, Kits, and Elders who are kinda like,, your civilian class I guess.

They don’t exactly have tool making YET like some primates and corvids do, but with some of the other stuff they DO have they might as well be a very primitive civilization. They got PUSSY POLITICS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS WITH THEIR NEIGHBORING CAT GOVERMENTS LIKE???

Could you imagine being some sort of researcher going over your trail cam footage and just,, seeing what looks like a group of feral cats having a medicinal herb gathering raid? Like. Those are cats. WHY are they gathering poppy seeds with the level of gentleness that some children would be jealous of. Or watching these feral cats conducting what looks like some sort of military exercise drills in sync with an older cat barking (meowing?) orders at a group of juveniles? Your coworker would likely think you’re crazy.

Also I find myself thinking about how funny it’d be to be some randomass person driving by Four Trees as the Great Battle broke out between the Clans and Bloodclan, where you just see likely hUNDREDS OF FERAL CATS just BEATING THE TAR out of each other. AND ITS NOT INDISCRIMINATE EITHER. LIKE YOU COULD SEE THAT THERES CLEARLY TWO OPPOSING SIDES WITH ONE SIDE WEARING WHAT APPEARS TO BE SPIKED COLLARS. Just imagine how INSANE of a sight that’d be.

I’m pretty sure that the thunderpath (road) that acted as a boarder between Thunderclan and Shadowclan was REALLY close to Four Trees where that fight happened so,,, it’s not impossible.

The Night's Meow ~ ☆

Welcome! To the Feline Haven known as "Night's Meow."

A place where felines of all breeds can find shelter,food,health checkups,social interactions and a place to sleep the days away.

The felines here are all rescued or brought in needing one or more of the above. All felines and some partial felines are welcome. If you see a cat that looks weary or lost please bring em to the haven.

Our owner will give a checkup,food and see if someones reported a missing cat so can return em to their family. If no one has reported they get to stay at the haven.

All info about the haven's services is below!

Owner and workers

Currently the owner is Damián Reed Delgado. You can ask him anything about the Haven he will have answer. However due to his nocturnal nature the eariler you can find him at the haven is 3pm for the hour on class days as he just checking in before sleeping more before class. Non-class days he is at the haven at 5pm and will be there all day unless something needs him to leave.

The only worker who not a volunteer is Eric Salazar. He a Serendipia 3rd yr who's passion is cats and Damián. He is rarely seen anywhere else but the haven other then in class. He sometimes can be found napping near Damián's dorm or with him if he napping outside. Eric isn't fully nocturnal he flips his sleeping schedule so the cats are taken care of in the mornings thus always looks so tired cause of this. He really only speaks to Damián and volunteers. He seems scared to talk to anyone else. He has a special one of a kind tag that says Cat Cat.(see tag means below)

Rooms & Services

There are 10 rooms within that provide services for haven residents.

Play Room ~ Room full of cat toys,towers,and things that zip across the room. Enjoy watching or playing with the cats here. Treats are volunteer given only in this room so reward em for doing something cool.

Nap Room ~ Cat beds,blankets,boxes galore! This is were the cats go to nap or sleep. Also is place where the lazy cats dwell. There's sleeping essentials for you too so you can grap a pillow and blanket to snooze with them.

Food Room ~ Place where all food/water dispensers. Refilled daily and cat door is magically timed to let in set number,let them eat then move that group to play room then open to let in another set. All cats get fed 3 times a day with 2 treats. Chonky cats have separate room if they are on diet which is determined if they having health issues.

Medical Room ~ Where all the checkups happen. Checkups are performed by the owner or the Cat Cat. Volunteers can watch and ask questions during these. If feel can handle it owner may let you do one by yourself.

TV Room ~ Cat movies,cartoons,and sounds to relax cats. This just a room with a giant tv that randomly plays stuff and all the cats watch whatever it is cause they are curious or entranced. This room is also where the owner does small cat parties or just sits and watches movies with them. He often nods off in here if he tired.

Kitten Play Room ~ Same as above but just for the kittens of the haven.

Kitten Nap Room ~ Same as above but just for the kittens of the haven.

Kitten Feed Room ~ Same as above but just for the kittens of the haven.

Outdoor Litterbox Potty Area ~ All fenced-in and constructed by the owner and Ignacio Luna,a student. This area is all automatic. Cats go in and go out safe and cleanly. After abit of time all litter boxes are clean with fresh litter. All waste is collected in barrels that are hauled away to be dispose of. Of note all haven cats are trained to use this area immediately. Only kittens amd older cats arent due to difficult but theres measures for them too that are clean and safe.

Bad Kitty Room ~ This room is for haven residents who been bad. Fighting,misbehaving,attacking a volunteer,etc they get sent here. The owner personally is in here figuring out what to do with the naughty individuals but mostly just gets his cat Alma to give them a stren talking to. Cats in here usually spend about 15mins or longer depending on what they did.

Volunteers and Tags

The haven is runned by just two people,Damián & Eric but is also open to Volunteers from all dorms or even staff. Only need ur student or staff ID and pick a tag then good to go. The name tags help keep track of volunteers and what jobs they should be doing during their time here. Here are some tags & meanings:

Cat Papa ~ Tag of the owner

Cat Cat ~ Tag given to those Damián has deemed to be super helpful and essential in keeping the haven a safe space for felines.

Cat Lover ~ Volunteer who just wants to do everything or can't decide so tasked with doing abit of everything.

Cat Nanny ~ Volunteer who tasks are to watch cats in play room and take sleepy cats to nap room.

Cat Napper ~ Volunteer whos task is to just sleep in the nap room with the cats.

Cat Play ~ Volunteer who task is to be active and play with the cats in the play room.

Cat Watch ~ Volunteer who task is to watch movies with the cats in the TV room.

Cat Walker ~ Volunteer who task is to take cats on a little stroll outside or can be carried in catbag outside.

Kitten Tags ~ Theres kitten equivalent tags of each thing aswell

hello!!!!! I wanna tell you about my neighborhood cats!!!!!

there are these six different kitties I see on my walks and theyre all so cute and sweet and I love them. it breaks my heart to see them outside (they do take baths and they're all well fed save for one of them, but when they roll on the ground outside, they dont care to clean themselves off which seems a bit weird according to my knowledge...) but I cannot take them all in bc our landlady (fuck her actually but thats a different post) only lets us have one cat although we actually have two bc were cool n shit. anyway here are approximations of the kitties

1. Russian blue!!

this was the first kitty we (my family has seen them too, but im the only one who interacts) met!!!! idk what his name is but hes a lil big Russian blue kitty with pretty pale green eyes and a purple collar!!! the buddy likes to come up and smell my hands and rub up against my legs... he really likes pets and his fur is very soft, today he sat on top of a garbage can

2. Calico (white body)!

this is the first calico ive met!!! she's a very distant kitty, I think she's like the guardian of them actually?? she responds when you do the tongue click, but she never gets closer than about a few feet. she's not hostile, though! she's very quiet and tends to make sure all the others know its okay. I cant show you a picture of her bc she's got some vvvv unusual markings and an odd tail that idk if its normal actually, but anyway you cant find a pic of another cat like her. she has a nearly pure white coat, but she has a few patches of the calico coloring on her back. her tail is also nearly all white, but theres a darker coloring at the tip, and the tail is sleek until you get closer to the tip, where about 4-5 inches up to the end are longer.

3. tabby!

this is our other leader!! I think hes a boy but im not sure. hes a grey mackerel tabby, and his stripes are pretty light, but you can still see them. he doesnt get too close to anyone, he just watches over everyone as well. when the car's on the driveway of the house all of them gather at, he likes to sit on top. a very good, very mysterious boy. he also has very big front paws.

4. callie (black body)!!!!

this!!!!!!!!! this is my pretty girl!!!!!!!! she's one of the newest babies, and she's very young!!!! she also has a purple collar like mr Russian blue, so I think theyre from the same house. she's a calico with a black body and a whole lot of markings!!!!! most of them are obscured by her black fur, but she has a lot of orange mixed in with a very very very little amount of white tossed in like powdered sugar except not bc powdered sugar gets everywhere and she barely has any white. im really concerned for her actually bc she's very thin (not in a you can see her bones way thank god, she probably just came home from the shelter) and very small, which is really odd bc the other cats are all healthily chubby. she reminds me a lot of my babies when they came home from the shelter (the shelter tries their best but its not the greatest place for them). she's also super shy and only approached after other calico showed her it was okay and that I wouldn't hurt her. despite that, she's such a sweetie. she runs up to my hand to sniff and get scratches!!!! she also likes staying around my legs, protecting me from the other cats? she does take baths though, so thats good.

5. mystery ticked...

this is another new girl. she kinda slinks around and comes from nowhere. I dont know too much about her, just met her today. she likes sitting by mr Russian blue. as I said, she's a grey ticked tabby, and she's very pretty.

6. mr meow meow!!!!!

this boy!!!! hes so sweet!!!!! hes a tuxedo cat and he likes climbing into the underside of trucks which is an issue but its okay I guess? hes a very sweet boy, though!!! he comes over meow meow meowing and he gets a lot of pets. hes very big and fluffy, I love him a lot.

Vem - Oh dear, sweet nonny. You have no idea what you just asked. I have all sorts of pets in the house. The ones I claim are 3 cats and a snake. If you want to count the snake food, I’ve got another...7 mice in the freezer. Wow, that sounds really bad to people who don’t have special diet pets doesn’t it? I didn’t intend to have 3 cats either. There are stories for each of my cats, and I’d be happy to share but otherwise this is going to get unreasonably long. Their names are Neko, Drei, and Zuko, and they are all adorable. The snake is actually the oldest, and I actually never liked any names suggested, so she’s just ‘Snakey’. I got her when I was 12, and if you can guess how I got the names for my cats you can tell that I’m really bad at naming things. Thank you for asking, I love talking about my ‘non-human friends’! You give me smiles <3

Ro- Unlike everyone else, I’m forever alone and I have absolutely no pets. However, I do like to hang out with my friends cats and dogs, though they don’t live with me so I only see them about once or twice a week. Thanks for asking! <3

Rikyn: (I think I wrote too much, I just love talking about my cats) I love animals so much~! I have four cats. Fluffy is the eldest cat that all the others respect. She's a fluffy black cat, and she's treated like a true queen. My mom treats her like Jumin treats Elizabeth the 3rd. Then there's Princess. She was my older sister's cat, but she was unable to take care of her. Princess is my absolute favorite cat we've ever had. Her and I talk to each other through series of meows. She's also a black cat, but she's short haired. Next is Flower, she's the most gorgeous cat ever. She's a tortoise shell cat, and her fur and eyes are so pretty. She loves attention from everyone, even little kids. My sister found her on the streets of New York, but she couldn't keep her, so we took her in. Lastly, there's Lily. We found Lily on our porch almost two years ago. She was the runt of the litter, and her mom abandoned her. So, my older sister and I sat out on the porch and petted (is that a word?) her for hours. My mom knew that there was going to be a giant snow storm the next day, so we let her into the house. My mom and dad both have soft spots for her. It's so pure.

Jaenna: Nah, no pets (but I’d love one!) My mum’s allergic, so I can’t really. I have a solar panelled waving cat on my desk though, does that count? And actually, I did once have a rabbit named after Jake from the Tweenies and 2 gold fish named Ant and Dec.

Jelly- I love talking about my pets. I have two dogs, a lab mix named Luna and a beagle mix named Charlie. Luna loves attacking towels. We don't know why. She loves being in a car and driving around town with us, and it's adorable to see her reactions to other dogs and hoomans. Charlie isnt as playful, he'll attack Luna and they'll fight (playfully though) but he doesn't play with us often. He has separation anxiety so he whines a lot when my oldest brother is working. Next, we have two cats, Ming-Ming and Stripers. Ming is a Siamese mix. We're not too sure what else there is in her. She's the daughter of Stripers and loves being pet and loves playing. Stripers, on the other hand, is scared of us for some reason. Some days she's fine and will let us pet her, other days she runs away if we happen to step in the same area. We used to have more cats but they either died (;-;) or ran away. I used to own a cat named Rascal. He was my favourite animal to exist ever. But one day, after school, mom, my sister, and I were driving into the garage when Rascal ran straight into the tire. I cried for about four hours straight that day and we had a lil funeral and buried him. I didn't mean for this to become so sad haha. Thanks for the ask~

Sarin- ohhhh boy! A chance to talk about my pets~! I have two cats, and a horse! My oldest cat is Kitty Kinz. She’s sassy and fluffy, and loves to suckle on soft things for some reason? It’s adorable, but it’s also gross going to grab my robe and there’s a wet spot. My newest addition is named Cheeto. He kinda adopted us, in a way. He just started hanging around our house earlier this year, maybe around March, and as he was skinny, we fed him. It took a while, but we were eventually were able to get close and pet him (he’s very cuddly!), just don’t pick him up, lol. Now, for my dog horse Mija! I got her about 8 years. I got her when she was 2. We both learned together, and she is my baby girl. She follows me around like a dog and gets super jealous when I work with other horses. She was abused, and I’m not going to get into it here (its a super long story), but if you are curious you can pm me on my personal blog and I will certainly tell you more!

Saemoni: I have an old dog, his name is Tito (I named him like that). He’s been with me ever since I was 6 years old (a lot of years), I got him after moving to the city where I live in. He’s a beagle, doesn’t know how to behave (still love him), and he’s blind, he’s been blind for about 3 years? Doctor said it was because it’s something common in beagles, so it’s no problem. I haven’t been with him a lot recently because I have so much HW and other activities, but I love bathing him and playing a bit (he gets tired pretty easily because he’s old). He barks at night, worst time ever, I always tell him to quiet down, but I can only get him to do that if I stay with him for a few minutes and let him sleep in (I usually leave him out in my garden because he prefers it, and it’s common to do that here where I live), but if it’s raining or really cold I let him sleep in the kitchen or in a bathroom my family and I don’t use. He’s my only pet, but I want a cat hehehe, I won’t buy one soon because my dog gets jealous pretty easily and also because it would be too much for me to take care of two pets.

Rion - So I have 4 pets. 1 dog, her name is Daisy and she’s an English Springer Spaniel who is a complete moron. She will cry if she can’t be a little spoon at night time and runs into doors on a daily basis. Then theres the 3 cats. Nala who is our Bengal, she likes to escape from the living room and hide in cupboards, yelling when we have to put her away. She jumps onto my shoulders automatically when I enter the living room and she only does it for me. She’s also a show cat, we have pedigree papers and sometimes take her to local showings. We have Ash who’s a British Shorthair, he’s super chill and quiet. He literally purrs when someone enters the room. Then there’s Denzel, we adopted him from a family friend as their toddler was really bad with him, he is so food orientated and yells when you take food away to refill the bowl.

Chabashira Tenko volunteers at a shrine as a shrine maiden and Hoshi Ryoma visits the shrine to take care of some kittens The two of them take care of kittens

sweep sweep sweep

Chabashira sweeps up the remaining leaves into a big pile, and lets out a triumphant grin-

-only for the cold winter breeze to blow some away again and Tenko shivers and brings her hands to her arms and rubs them for warmth.

During the New Year holidays, Chabashira would volunteer as a shrine maiden at a nearby shrine. After all, there’s only so much you could do with Neo Akido.

Chabashira sighs and begins sweeping again, only to hear a soft meow nearby. She stops and decides to investigate.

Hoshi occasionally visits the nearby shrine, to pray for good luck or something similar, but the main reason he visits is to check out a group of kittens he’d recently discovered.

They were hidden in a bush with a makeshift shelter consisting of 3 old blankets and a box along with a food and water dish. The group of kittens were of the Tabby kinds, and approximately 9 weeks.

Hoshi would’ve taken them back to the dorms, but only students whose talents were related to animals could keep pets and his household wouldn’t allow pets so this was the best he could do.

Today, Hoshi had come back with a brand new package of treats. He slowly brings out his hand with the treat and waits for the kittens to get a treat, and gives them a soft pat on the head.

rustle rustle

The kittens (and Hoshi) get startled by the noise and retreats back to their shelter and Hoshi turns his head back

“Chabashira?”

“Hoshi-san?”

The two of them stay silent until Hoshi breaks the silence, “Huh, didn’t know you worked as a shrine maiden here, you look pretty nice..”

Chabashira dead-eyed stares at Hoshi, “Tenko doesn’t really want to hear that from a male.”

Hoshi hums and brings his attention back to the box. He did think she looked quite nice, considering her usual (loopy?) pigtails were now in a low pigtails (similarly to Harukawa) and her signature pinwheel ribbon was gone.

“What are you doing here anyway?” Chabashira bends down and shuffles over to the box (and has at least a meter distance away from Hoshi).

“Taking care of some kittens. The mother’s probably out looking for food right now.”

“Tenko didn’t realize there were kittens here- Well Tenko knew there is a cat that frequently visits the shrine…how many are there?”

Hoshi stays quiet and brings out his hand to the shelter (box) and motions Chabashira to come closer.

“Why don’t you see for yourself?”

Chabashira slowly shuffles closer to the box and shortly after, an orange tabby comes out and rubs its scent onto Hoshi, she can hear his whispers of “Good boy.” and sees a small smile in his face.

Hoshi turns to face Chabashira, “Wanna pet him?” She nods slowly and Hoshi gently lifts the kitten to her direction, “Let him smell your scent first, and stay calm or else you’ll scare the lil’ one.”

She wipes her hand onto her clothes (because they sweat), and slowly brings her hand out to the kitten. The kitten steps back from her hand (and she feels a bit offended), and then steps a bit closer and rubs itself onto her hand.

Hoshi could see that she was practically beaming, grin so wide and eyes twinkling, it  was almost a scene from an anime and Hoshi couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Ahh~ Hoshi-san do you see this? Tenko’s petting a kitten!” Chabashira now had the kitten on her lap (and was slightly drooling.)

“You better wipe some of your saliva off, don’t want it on the lil’ one.” Chabashira quickly got a free hand and wiped the drool off.

“I’m amazed you haven’t run off from a men ace like me,” More of the kittens come out and surround Hoshi, pinning him to the ground and Chabashira managed to pick up a black kitten.

“Tenko…doesn’t think all men are men aces…” The black kitten joins the orange tabby onto her lap and she pets both, “…well Tenko supposes Hoshi-san isn’t a menace, after all you treat these kittens with great care!”

Hoshi didn’t know what to say, he felt a blush creeping on his face so he turned his head and pulled down his hat and muttered a “Thanks…”

Chabashira almost missed what Hoshi had said (since it was so quiet-), opting to stay quiet, she instead gave a small smile and the both of them continued to care for the kittens.

“…Maybe Tenko should volunteer more…” She starts but trails off and Hoshi gives a grunt.

“For what reason?”

“So Tenko can look after these cute kittens more!” She slowly brings her hands near her chest and does a ‘I can do it’ pose.

Hoshi lets out a loud chuckle, mostly because her reasoning sounds a bit childish.

“Tenko might let Hoshi-san know if she decides to volunteer again, and then we could play with the kittens again.”

Tenko gave a big grin and Hoshi lets out a small smile, “I wouldn’t mind that at all, but you should do your duties too.”

“Tenko does and will do her duties, she doesn’t need a menace telling her that!” The two of them stay silent, and then they both chuckle.

It wouldn’t be such a bad idea getting together like this once in a while, Hoshi thinks.
