Puddle- Is a hair stylist, basically acting as a diagetic way for the player to change their design after the tutorial.

Big ole' relationship headcanons chart B) For these I just went with what would give me the best story telling options (or what Just sounded outright entertaining) while occasionally taking cues from canon.

A few corrections:

Arrows with two points are supposed to mean the relationship is mutual, while arrows wirh just one point means it's one-sided. Mentor/Mentee relationships are a weird exception where the arrow is meant to always go from the mentor to the mentee... I only did this right for Puddle and Vonda being mentors for Santi lol. Thankfuly the other mentor/mentee relationships involve the students so it should be easy enough to tell what I mean.

On a similar note; Pitunia and Dalmo's friendship is meant to be mutual

Alph would be friends with Collin and perhaps Russ, but the chart was getting cluttered and I couldn't fit the arrows.

Similar goes to Brittany; she'd probably get along with Yonny, Kingsly, and François.

And again, Boris should be friends with Frise but I ran out of room LMAO

I know this is a little tricky to read and also has some intresting headcanons, so if you have any questions feel free to ask! :3

Vonda and Puddle have kinda just declared themselves as Santi's mentor. Specifically when it comes to romance and gender shenanigans.

Frise, Boris, and Lapi are all friends. Frise is also friends with Vonda. Frise keeps trying to get the other two to meet Vonda but they're intimidated bc she's famous.

Idk when exactly on the time line this takes place, but eventually Bernard and Santi get that situationship sorted out. Russ gets over Muggs and gives a relationship with Molly a shot, much to her delight.

Maybe Kayz will be with Chowder, maybe not. Haven't decided the outcome there. Honestly leaning towards them staying friends.

Pitinia just finds Bernise annoying lmao.

When I say "your guess is as good as mine" I really do mean it LMAO. I feel it means something slightly different for every relationship I used it for.

anyone here who was a leafling is part of a support group. They don't all consider each other friends but they do trust each other a lot.

The three students inherently trust the other people in Mika's friend group and will go to them for advice and such.

Olimar is friends with the entire Rescue Corps (one of his arrows is meant to be pointing at the friend group as a whole) but is particularly close with Bernard.

Santi and Chewy are part of the same friend group, but again are a bit closer to eachother than the other members

The entire Research Task Force considers eachother friends. Once again tbough, Komo and Twyla are particularly close. Pitunia and Sy are particularly close. And Kit and Osa are particularly close.

Most of these relationships were forged during the events of Pikmin 4.

Pikmin 4 Planet Generalizations

I added this to the big Pikmin 4 Character Trivia post, but I know most people aren't going to be checking for updates on that (btw, there's been a few, so check that out if you're interested).

These are observations I've made about similarities between castaways from the same planet. Since Pikmin has made a habit of saying that certain traits are inherent to specific races/planets, such as the Koppaites' inability to plan and being picky eaters and the Hocotatians' preference for vegetables and seeking treasure, it may be safe to say that similarities found between castaways from the same planet might be reflective of their respective races.

However, this is all speculative on my part. Do not take any of the following as fact.

I also haven't included any castaways/planets where there was only 1 castaway to get info from since unless they explicitly said so, there's no way to determine what traits are theirs and what could be attributed to their race/culture. Info like that would be a part of the main trivia post.

Sozor (Dalmo, Grace, Horatio)

Have anti-social personalities. Dalmo prefers creatures to people, Grace seems disinterested in society as a whole, and Horatio is inept at social interactions (compared to other castaways).

Flukuey (Jin, Molly, Dash, Patch)

Have unstable professions and/or are adventure seekers. Jin is an explorer, Molly is a streamer of limited success, Dash is a spelunker from a well off-family, and Patch is unemployed but purposefully puts himself in dangerous situations for the thrill.

Ooji (Francois, Kingsly)

Love flowers/plant life. Francois studies plant-life, and Kingsly is a florist. Given that Ooji is also said to have "lush jungles," flora may be very important to everyday life on the planet.

Koodgio (Lapi, Boris)

Artistic types. Lapi is a painter and Boris is an author.

Siguray (Shnauz, Kit, Osa)

Interested in the qualities and history of materials and items. Shnauz appraises treasure, Kit is interested in minerals, and Osa is interested in archeology.

The following are castaways where it's difficult to determine if their similar traits would be found in their race due to other factors:

Ogura (Sy, Pitunia)

Both are interested in studying the onion and their environmental factors surrounding it, but both are also a part of the Research Task Force, a group made of individuals that are interested in studying the planet in general, so it's hard to say if this would be something inherent to all Ogurains, or if they just happen to have a mutual interest in this area of study.

Enohee (Ren, Frise, Muggs, Wolfgang)

3 of the 4 are a part of the same TV crew, so would have common interests by default. Arguably all 4 are interested in entertainment as Ren was on a cooking show, so TV might be a very important industry to Enohee.

Neechki (Kaia, Sheeba, Keesh, Mika, Chewy)

4 of the 5 are in the same club and would have similar interests by default (and even then, Mika admits that she knows very little about planetary science), and Chewy has little in common with the rest of them. However, Chewy notes that Sheeba also resembles her boss, so it's possible that the "small" body type is very common (but not exclusive) to Neechikians.

Nijo (Santi, Bernard)

Both became pilots and were prone to changing jobs frequently, but their "Dynamic Duo" shtick of always being a part of each other's lives is played as a joke, so their similar lives/interests may not have anything to do with their race/culture.

Planets where I couldn't identify a common thread:

Enohay (Puddle, Vonda, Bernise)

I would have said creative/artistic fields due to Puddle being a stylist and Vonda being a singer, but I don't think a fortune-teller really falls under that umbrella. Perhaps they're all "dramatic"?

Conohan (Twyla, Chowder, Alpin, Fawks, Beaux)

They all have different professions and interests, two are siblings, and none have especially similar personality traits. In a sense, I suppose this would imply that Conohan is a very diverse planet.

Ohri (Yonny, Dingo)

Neither seems to have much in common with the other aside from being in the Rescue Corps.

Giya (Shepherd, Collin, Russ)

Another diverse group of only rescue officers. However, given the stark difference between Collin's and Russ's financial situations, there are implications that Giya has significant class inequality.

i swear every time i get into a game that has an actual community it'll feel like i just woke up on mars because i usually dig really deep into a game's lore, history, trivia, unused content, etc. and THEN i'll find stuff from the community and i don't even mean for that to happen it just works that way and it always plays out the exact same way without fail besides for when there is no community

like, a week or two ago i remembered OFF exists, watched a whole playthrough of it, have been listening to it's OST an unhealthy amount (I'm doing it right now, Unreasonable Behavior is so good), i go onto tumblr, first OFF post i see once i add it's tag to my feed is someone's art for an AU where all the characters all like hang out at a cafe together or something and everything is chill, which is like the antithesis of everything i had just experienced related to the game and i couldn't help but laugh in confusion once i realized what i was looking at

i go in the discord server for iconoclasts after obsessing over the game for like a year and annoying the fuck out of my friends about it, literally the only fanmade character i have seen is a chemico contra member who's also a phlebotomist, i had to google what a phlebotomist is and like... i didn't look into their lore by ctrl-f-ing or whatever so i'm probably missing something, but how do you come to this conclusion (actually i think i know, they mentioned they actually became one at some point after making this character which is really funny actually)

i start watching videos about pikmin after finally beginning to slowly come off one of the most intense hyperfixations i've had in my entire life to the point i had played through all 5 games in the series and dedicated weeks and entire days to trying to figure out the lore before giving up because it's nintendo lol and spending a roughly equal amount of time trying to come up with intentionally terrible ideas for more games in the series only to accidentally get WAY too into it (see my alph wraith post lol), i am greeted with Fiddlebert, and a later a dub of an AU where the player character is actually a wraith and is hiding it from the rest of the rescue corps (this post is still probably one of the funniest jokes i've ever seen) and the entire thing scarily resembles the type of shit i'd write if i was given this premise to work with down to the mention of an innocent child being consumed that's first brought up with a doodle of them saying "Oh boy I sure do hope being alive!" while holding The Goo THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I TREAT HORRIBLE EVENTS IN MY STORIES WHEN I'M TALKING ABOUT THEM

i look at the tag for ultrakill on tumblr and feel like i just got sent to hell myself with the punishment of being stuck in a permanent state of confusion due to the sheer contrast to the source material all the fanart has, same goes for most of the posts about it in general actually, i go in expecting like blood & violence and instead i'm greeted with gabriel & v1 making out. drawn by 50 different users. (i don't even need to link anything here just check #ultrakill you'll see)

and this isn't even touching on all of the ships i've seen that are utterly incomprehensible to me because. like. why magolor and the snowman enemy? why kingsly and puddle??? i thought alph didn't like louie? wait also what do you mean at least two people's headcanon is that louie is trans? (ok i couldn't re-find some of the things in this paragraph and i'm too tired to conduct an in-depth search but you could probably find it if you looked)

i'm not hating on anything i brought up here it's just a bunch of funny examples i think about a lot now that i've seen them, you guys go do whatever you want even if i don't get it go have fun lol, i just love the feeling of pure confusion when i walk into the room and get punched in the face with a complete subversion of my expectations because it feels like i'm missing SO MUCH CONTEXT and i never get used to it i love it i love the internet
