don't you just love dysfunctional families?
#I remember last week in psych we were talking about the latent content of our dreams and the one I said really surprised my friend#and she was like 'do you hate your family???'#well yesterday my grandparents were shouting at one another and I had to step in and scold them like they were fucking middle schoolers#and instead of any actual apology OR trying to not get into more arguments I hear muttering (aka actually saying pretty loudly) insults#between each other and get a TEXT from my grandma saying 'Sorry I've been a disappointment to you.'#like ma'am you've been FAR MORE THAN A DISSAPOINTMENT#like#my God#they're both in their 70s they shouldn't be acting like goddamn middle schoolers who just learned what its like to curse and argue#and they certainly shouldn't have to be mediated by their goddamn grandchild#(aka not mediating. telling them to shut up and go to their room)#I'm just#ugh#fall break JUST started and if it turns out to be like this a lot during the beginning#I may just find out how long it'll take me to get to certain places and spend my fall break there#also neither of them have apologized in person and I don't believe my sib (who gets triggered when people yell at each other)#has gotten one either#anyways#amber's shit you can ignore#ambersky vents#vent
