HI AGAIN!!! ok so admittedly delayed my watch for dis.venture but im at ep 5 now and honestly im so?!?! holy shit? the writing is so mature and realistic, like usually i dont feel bad if the eliminated character leaves but i actually got so... hurt?!!? even if i knew theyre gonna be voted off but the emotional impact they gave me made me actually hurt for them like omg? like i did not think i would actually feel so bad for grett after that phone call. everyones not a jerk... theyre all so human..... theres still so many good details i didnt mention but im sure we can agree its so good

WIWIWIW OMG DONT FEEL BAD .. IM ACTUALLY SO HAPPY YOURE STILL CONTINUING IT!!! I’m surprised honestly. YEAH DISVEN.TURE CA.MP does such a GOOD JOB in writing realistic emotions and situations into their characters compared to tot.al dra.ma. It keeps going forward and gets more divided whenever it shows a situation that’s supposed to “pick a side” but it really isn’t for that case. YOULL UNDERSTAND ONCE YOULL CONTINUE BC THERES SO MUCH DRAMA IN THE LATER EPISODES.

THEY NAILED THE SUSPENSE ON THE ELIMINATIONS EVEN THO SOME OF THEM ARE PREDICTABLE? I was really sad when drew got eliminated too because of how well they portrayed a mute character— (I didn’t know red is also mute,, that’s so cool…) also what I like about the series with their representation as well 😭 I’m relieved you feel bad for Grett even tho she can be mean but she’s literally playing the game so I can’t BLAME HER as much (same goes to Fiore). For me, Grett’s development through the series is by far one of my favorites as it progresses (and one of my favorite characters) .

IM GIGGLING OVER OVER THE REACTION ON FIORE’S TRUE COLORS. She’s veryyyy messed up (I COULD NOT GET OVER HER BURNING ASHLEYS AND NICKS STUFF JUST TO FRAME LILL THAYS FUCKED) but also plays the game very smartly. She’s such a freaking gremlin I love her so much 💔

my new gooby!! his name is Moth but also Derrick! he uses Moth as his nickname, but is completely ok with Derrick or any variation of it,, he just thinks Moth is silly and fun :3

he works as a forest ranger and knows a lot about nature and bugs and stuff! he likes doing tours for littler kids (as long as theyre not being annoying) cos he gets to show them a bunch of cool stuff abt animals and have them be engaged and ask questions!

————  is what mitsunari  would  have thought,  initially,  at the sight of a literal kid,  seemingly under the delusion that akkorō was threatening mitsunari,  flinging  himself at akkorō in an attempt to save mitsunari.   as if he  needed  the help.   this would have just been par for the course in mitsunari’s life,  except  then  he witnessed the arrival of a  massive  duck and a dog that stood exclusively on its hind legs  —  both of whom could  talk,  and wear  clothes.

it’s always something,  except now mitsunari is starting to think that maybe he never woke up this morning,  and this was all some absurd dream.   perhaps he oughtn’t eat so close to bedtime.   perhaps he oughtn’t be having such a  late  bedtime.   all things to consider,  if this truly  is  a dream.

the kid’s spiky hair was more voluminous than that shimazu pup’s is   (  and they both certainly possess the same spirit  ).   he’s wielding the  strangest  blade,  unlike anything he’s ever seen before.   and akkorō is still in a deadlock with this kid,  although he isn’t really  trying  one way or another.   it would be  entertaining  if mitsunari weren’t currently so preoccupied  ————  with  pinching  himself.

he’s so  certain  that this must be a dream.   but,  he doesn’t wake up.   it seems as though he’ll have to ride this dream out a little longer.   very  well.

“  okay,  that’s enough,  ”   mitsunari says at last  —  directs his words toward the kid with a wave of his hand.   he knows very well thatakkorō could hold his own for significantly longer  —  that he likely doesn’t  need  to intervene,  but if he’s to humor this dream,  then he needs to know what exactly he’s humoring.

Wow, this latest BAT chapter made me emotional. When I got into Hypmic, I didn't expect it to be so dark; it's hard to imagine a series that talks about family issues, trauma, depression, etc. also has lyrics like, "GLUG GLUG GLUG GLUG GOOBY GOOBY GOO!" XD Thanks to everybody for your hard work! <3 I was wondering if you/the team are okay with the content? It never bothers you? Idk why I'm concerned haha but I don't want you to be stuck translating something that makes you uncomfy. Take care :)

Ray: i was a little emotional shaken by [DH/BAT 5] tbh staring at jyushi crying and writing the awful stuff the characters were saying to him  was so [broken heart emoji]. i think w tsting the distance from what is on the content of the pages is a bit.. bc u have to be very cautious w what is being said whos saying it how theyre saying it etc 

Suwa: hifumi was spitting bars wdym. all i feel is rage whenever i see iyogis face i hate that bitch so much, but like? the content is ok lol you dont rlly feel anything after staring at the same page for 3 hours a day to try and fill in the screentones

Aura: I can't say it "bothers" me, but all the trauma causes damage to my mental health, like I had depression for two or three months after Fling Posse's before the 2nd rap battle album released But I'm totally ok with it since I love to see their bonds and friendship, I really enjoy the fact that they all found a family for themselves So I'll be ok 

Mora: me personally i think the content is poggers. i usually just clean and try to guess what's going on. sometimes i tell slug my interpretation of the chapter. [And they are the best interpretations - Slug]

Ren: It makes me sad to see a character go through that kind of manipulation and trauma but it doesn't bother me to work on it because as a cleaner it's my job. I'm pretty thick-skinned. 

Utsura: I think that the material is very good at invoking an emotional response when I'm in the moment, but I'm good at compartmentalizing the events in the material so it doesn't affect my mental health outside of when I'm directly engaged w the media. Like I have issues w listening to School of IKB & Stella bc they make me emotional, but i won't deny they are super good & i appreciate them. [Here Ray said, “ i think they mean how it affects us when ur directly working on it :0″] OH LMAO LIKE IK WHATS GOING ON WHEN I CLEAN. I'm usually too busy swearing at screentones to process. Even then, i look at the art on a very objective level, so I'm moreso analyzing how composition will illicit an emotional response & stuff.

Slug: Like Utsura says, I approach text more from an analytical standpoint than from anything else most of the time. It’s not like reading a book where I experience it passively - I’m actively thinking, “What is the purpose of this? What emotions are the characters feeling, and how does this text and this art combined create an emotional response in the reader? What can I do to create these emotional responses in English readers?” and so on. Because there’s that distraction factor, I’m not usually bothered by any of the content, even when some of the situations hit close to home. I remember that BB/MTC chapter 7′s war scene was uncomfortable to work on because it dragged painful memories up to the surface and put me back in an older mindset for a couple of days. But for the most part, that doesn’t happen. I’m very lucky that my few experiences with bullying didn’t affect me in the slightest, so none of the DH/BAT content is emotionally draining for me.
