New: Thieves dig nearly $1m in jewellery and cash out of Philippines mall
In a daring heist, thieves tunneled into Gaisano Mall in Ozamiz City, Philippines, making off with 41 million pesos in jewelry and cash. Commencing their covert operation in a carnival beside the mall, the trio dug through a drainage canal to access the mall’s food court. Xenophobia, homophobia, and government fear mongering in the Philippines
My mother was telling me to not go to this specific college because a lot of Muslims started to go to school there for engineering and it is her firm belief that they are all applying for engineering because they’re going to make more bombs.
Me and my aunt told her she was being racist she said not it’s true. I asked her where did she get this from and she replied with “homeland security” which is a fucking AMERICAN TV SHOW I slapped my forehead so hard my aunt looked like she lost all hope.
we’re not even American we live in the Philippines and she’s being affected by the stupid propaganda and refuses to listen to reason because she’s catholic and therefore anyone with literally any religion besides her must be either stupid and ignorant or very evil.
I tried to explain to her that terrorists and Muslims were not the same thing and she just won’t fucking listen.
This is the same shit as her telling me not to go to a different college because they force people to go naked and wear paper bags on their heads during freedom day or else they’ll get failed by their professors. Turns out that this was the result of propaganda against activism and since that specific college encourages students to exercise their right to have rallies they are a lot of dipshits spreading lies or contorting things to make it look wrong.
By the way the school is the University of the Philippines in Cebu if you hear wacky rumors about this place regarding the naked people with paper bags and very anti-activism remarks don’t fall for it, they’re most likely lies and made specifically for people to not go there because they don’t want people to disagree with them on political agendas.
Very recently during my ROTC for our National Service Training Program. The ROTC director said that she was against activism because of the New People’s Army. Now firstly the new people’s army are not activists they are terrorists those are two different things.
But because she used activism instead of terrorism she’s immediately attaching a bad rep to it and since this is a government funded college that has free tuition a lot of the students are not that well versed in English to know what activism actually means. And because they don’t know what activism means they’ll just immediately attach activism to a group of terrorists who have killed people and they’ll think that being an activist is a bad thing.
This is how they do it, in college they indoctrinate you with misinformation and heavily biased views without showing the whole picture so that you get tunnel vision and you do exactly as they say.
They do not want leaders that want people who will do what they want and think they way they want them to.
I do not have the ability as of the moment to do a very in depth explanation of everything since they do not talk about this to me. I am surrounded by die hard catholics, my family is very involved in the church, they are not the kind of people i’d want to tell who i voted for because when i did my aunt immediately made fun of it.
A lot of my family has very unfortunately voted for Marcos I loathe my aunt for that and also my uncle. He voted for Marcos because he didn’t want Leni to make gay rights and abortion legal. My aunt is a fucking piece of shit of course she would vote for Marcos she had no problem beating me in school in her office its not a far cry for her to vote the son of a dictator who’s showering is thieving mother with presents as if she fucking deserves it. My grandfather had voted for duterte because he’s sexist, an idiot who claims not to be an idiot, and duterte’s marketing was very heavy to people like him.
Once while we were in a mall we passed by a stall where a muslim woman was selling clothes. My grandmother said “that’s what she gets for being Muslim” and it shocked me so hard and it was just so baffling because my grandmother also owned a small store that sold miscellaneous items. I didn’t say anything because I did not expect that from my grandmother, my mom? sure she’s stupid like yeah you can solve algebra and you’re quick at maths but you lack the ability to comprehend that just because there are bad people in a religion doesn’t mean EVERYONE with that religion is bad.
A lot of why people especially those that come from the provinces are like this is because they don’t have a lot of access to unbiased news or an outside view of our country. I used to be like them until the moment I was allowed more freedom to the internet and I could see just how bad everything actually is now that no one is holding my hand and closing my eyes.
People are straight up denying what happened during the Martial Law because of how Marcos has started to represent himself online. The Martial Law wasn’t that long ago so many people are still fucking alive from that time and just a few years ago before Duterte and the entirety of his fuckery came we all knew that the martial law was a bad time and it hurt and killed so many Filipinos.
Tumblr media
By the heavens do not let people forget the past and ruin our future. Stop voting people who come from political families and control the country to benefit them.
13 million idiots voted for Marcos and I’m not going to forgive or forget this.
Also for Duterte and all of his stupid wars
Tumblr media
FUCK YOU
There’s more by the way. This shit doesn’t end.
Regarding the abortion rights and reproductive health. Its no surprise that the Philippines is a backwards country. They really hammer down the why would you kill a baby it’s a gift from god thing really hard.
They prefer abstinence over actually teaching the students how to not get pregnant, how to not get STDS and how their body works. Just because it’s called sex education doesn’t mean the teacher is going to only talk about how to do sex and why you should do it.
Just because abortion would be turned legal doesn’t mean EVERYONE is going to abort the baby. There is a stupid amount of teenage pregnancy because you refuse to teach them how to have sex safely and because you have no problem with ruining the lives of everyone concerned with the young teenager but you have a big problem with getting rid of a pack of cells.
I’ve heard so many stories of how many women have had their lives ruined because they were forced to raise a child that young. There is a very tiny generational gap between the mothers and their children. They do not have the emotional maturity to be in charge of a baby of raising an entire person. A lot of them will lose their identity, their dreams and their opportunities because you’re so far up your ass you can’t even consider their choice on the matter. Never force someone to carry a baby because pregnancy is not all fun times and rainbows and neither are babies.
I love kids but i understand how stressful it is to live with barely any sleep because of the crying, the feeding, and the cleaning. This doesn’t happen to rich people this always is a problem with those without the money to support themselves.
The same thing with gay people we did not have homophobia before the Spaniards came in. In fact in the Filipino language there is no he/she/him/her there is literally only they/them/you the only time you find out someone’s gender is when it’s explicitly said so. According to a spaniard’s diary documenting their interactions with the Filipinos of that time there was a person who didn’t like women, dressed in woman’s clothes and did women’s tasks but lived alone and explicitly avoided physical contact and the guy was just like ‘HUH I wonder why that man was so weird.’ (this is from a translated book that we do not own I only get to see pictures of it from someone I see in twitter the only public copy near me is one in Sydney Australia).
They use the sodom and gammorah bit of the bible so hard hell it worked on me until I started to realize that this was all horseshit and I’m an asshole.
One time I had to listen to a priest say that “oh loving a man is fine biologically but Spiritually that’s wrong don’t be gay because its not right god doesn’t want you to be gay” this is the same priest who says “There are so many condominiums are around why are there still homeless people?” and also every time in every fucking homily he mentions how “wives should never leave their husband no matter how hard they beat you because God put you in that marriage”
I hate that priest with all my fucking body his name is Father Ciano Ubod he has a Youtube channel most of the people who watch him are all women and the fact that he’s telling women to not leave their abusive husbands instead of saying HEY maybe you shouldn’t beat your spouse? Because you know hurting people is WRONG he tells them to suck it up and love them.
You may be a priest but your views drag you to hell.
Now this priest isn’t all bad because the only thing I agree with him is that you shouldn’t beat your children but also its ironic hurting kids is wrong but leaving your husband who’s hurting you is also wrong. Fuck you father ciano I hope you choke on a sausage and realize god doesn’t give a shit about you.
In Summary: people raise children to have tunnel vision and use fear tactics to control how they see anyone who opposes their agenda, the church is a carcass that attracts flies and maggots to powerful positions and affect the daily lives of everyone who has the misfortune of listening to them, Marcos is someone who pretends like his father and mother didn’t steal Billions of money from the Philippine government while abusing the country and then escaping, anyone who voted for him are ignorant and mislead or are pieces of shit on fire.

Title: My new keyboard - flexible
So, I do remember this cheap old flexible silicon keyboard ⌨️ from the infamous Philippine tech store and now defunct, "cd-r king". Yes, yes, I know it's cool but over the months, I experienced trouble with their cheap soft rubbery keys that won't be registered. On the bright side, I appreciate its ingenuity with its detached mini USB and its red light on the left side when I plug it into my computer. Plus, due to the silicon material, it can wrap around and store it. However, I would rather place it on my desk, whatever I need.
*Sigh* Honestly, when I say, hear, or see the word "cd-r king" brings back memories. 🇵🇭💻📱🙂 And for those who don't know outside my country, it's a budget-friendly gadget store where they sell tech items for a low cost. Cd-r king spread all over branches in my country, usually in malls over outside. All seemed very well for cd-r king until they slapped with "Copyright concerns", causing all cd-r king branches to shut down, one by one, every nationwide mall. Surprisingly and unbelievably, "cd-r king" still lives today in selected branches that we're still alive, but as far as we know, cd-r king is dead in the huge market. And cd-r king's popularity won't be the same as it used to be.

As I'm currently writing a long post right now based on Persona 3, I've decided to take a break and let my brain rot over some old ideas of my cursed "Filo Thieves" AU in which Persona 5 takes place entirely in the Philippines.
It's so stupid of an idea and I cringe at every thought but hey, misery loves company so imma inject these ideas to other people. Here's just random things in word vomiting out in bulleted list format.
The gsme would start at like 2015. Typically this won't matter much, but in the Philippines, there were a lot of major political and academic changes in the Philippines during this time so the year is a bit more important.
The Philippine elections also takes place on May so it would align with the 2016 May elections.
This means that the thieves may be about a year younger than they are in the actual game. This also makes sense since if the were the age they were in the game, most of them would he college-age because of weird school year stuff in the country and the story just won't work as well.
Joker and the other second years would be 10th graders though. This aligns with their canon age anyway.
The thieves are definitely memed on as the "Akyat Bahay Pangmayaman" and has had supporters since the beginning. Like huge supporters.
Because of this, I do think that even if people think they killed Okamura here, they would still have like a shit ton of supporters.
The international community could not give a rat's ass about these people up until the Okamura case. That's what I think would happen in this case. That country is filled with crazy stories anyway and weird criminal groups so why the fuss about them? When a wealthy local CEO got killed, people started paying attention.
With the other cases like Kamoshida and Kaneshiro, it was expected with the climate of the country.
Madarame was a surprise and did cause waves internationally just for a little bit.
The Medjed incident really got people talking but Okumura was the thing that really sensationalized the whole thing internationally.
Side note, of course all of these names would he different in a Filipino AU. Can't figure it out yet.
The PT case is being handled by the DOJ and none other than Prosecutor Nijima, a bright and trailblazer lawyer who graduated from UP Law.
She's not that directly involved in the investigation as she is in-game as Filipino prosecutors don't have the same insane duties as Japanese and Korean prosecutors, but she's pretty involved as she can be. She handles high profile cases but her backlog still has like a shit ton of drug cases and shit.
Joker doesn't get officially arrested but is sent to the DSWD. There's more context to this that I might elaborate on later but just count him lucky that he didn't die.
He gets sent to Manila from the province since his parents wanted to avoid the stigma.
Sojiro is just a close friend of the family who has to take Joker in since they don't have any family in Manila. I'm debating if he runs a karenderya or a private cafe like in-game or just a small private restaurant. Either way, I doubt it would be as atmospheric as it is in-game no matter what it is.
Joker lives not in the attic but some sort of backroom storage thing where typical house employees would have roomed in.
Some of the palaces would definitely look different but some might stay the same.
I definitely think that Kamoshida's palace might retain it's castle status but I'm torn between that and a hacienda but a hacienda might fit Madarame more.
I'm also torn between having Madarame having a hacienda or retaining a museum or maybe something close to the Philippines Culture Center.
Kaneshiro's palace wouldn't be a bank in my opinion but maybe one of those high-end BGC office buildings where millionaires reside in next to lavish shopping malls.
Futaba's palace could be a tomb as well, but if I want to Filo it up I was thinking of making it a deserted island temple or something like that or maybe an elaborate burial cave system kinda like those caves where archeologists keep finding ancient human settlements in the country.
Okumura's whole space thing could definitely be retained but I just gotta add that I find the idea funny that Haru's confidant would be dealing with her trying to keep the company away from the Jollibee Food Corporation.
Sae's palace is just straight up Resorts World Manila. Yep.
Shido's Palace would still be a boat, but I do want to make it that the entirety of Malacañang would be on said boat as sort of a reminder that Malacañang was built near a riverside. The flood that covers the country is polluted like the floods that cover the country regularly.
I have more but that's it for the brainrot for now. See you next time as I vomit up ideas on how Joker's treated as a Filipino palaboy in the big city in his fancy private school!

The Binondo Girl's Food Trip
Hazel Catherine Tan
Every major city in different countries has established their own Chinatown; however, Chinatown in the Philippines is unlike any other. Binondo, Manila upholds its pride for being the oldest Chinatown in the world. Established in 1594, the Chinese culture, rich history, and historical traditions are well-preserved even in the 21st century from the Chinese immigrant ancestors to the new generation. What makes Binondo special is the showcase on how the Chinese and Filipino cultures coexist and intertwine together as a new whole. The district continues captures the hearts of many Filipinos, because of its trade and commerce, preserved culture and traditions, historical significance, and impeccable culinary scene.
Hokkien and Cantonese cuisines are two types of regional Chinese cuisines served in Binondo. Most of the Chinese immigrants are from Fujian Province, and Cantonese being the other regional type. Binondo’s Chinese cuisine is the manifestation on how it has major influence in the Philippine cuisine. The Chinese food served in Binondo are staples among Filipinos like pancit and lumpia, and the Chinese with the localized Chinese food like hong ma and kiampong. Its cuisine makes everyone travel across the borders to experience and indulge into the best Chinese food.
When doing a Binondo food trip, it is best to commute through LRT to Recto and taking a tricycle to Binondo or ride a jeep going to Divisoria. If you’re bringing a car, it is best to park it in Lucky Chinatown Mall. Riding a car around Binondo might not be the best option because of the heavy traffic. It is best to take a trip in Binondo around 1pm-4pm during weekdays because it wouldn’t be crowded by people who also go to Binondo and haggle cheap finds in Divisoria. You would also avoid traffic because there are many fetchers picking up their children from Chinese schools near the area. Walking around Chinatown is the best way to explore the vivid and busy streets, because you will appreciate and experience the integration of the modern and traditional Chinatown with the older institutions and new modern developments. You’ll get a better solid experience in walking to Chinatown because you’ll appreciate the ancient scenery and bustling vibe around the area. Plus, the food you ate will be easily digested well and you won’t get full while walking to the next restaurant. It is recommended to wear simple clothing and avoid eye-catching flashy jewelry. In that way, some merchants can’t take advantage of you by charging a high price. You won’t also garner attention from the thieves as well because they have good eyes to spot on tourists to be victimized.
In my trip to Binondo, my friends and I took a jeepney that had a “Divisoria” sign in its front window from Vito Cruz Taft that stopped at Burgundy Tower Divisoria, and paid P10 inclusive of a student discount. Since it was 1:45pm on a Tuesday, the traffic wasn’t bad and the jeepney wasn’t full of people as well. We arrived there around 2:30pm and greeted by the heat from the sun as the jeep stopped at Binondo Church. As my stomach started to growl, I began my food adventure in Binondo. Binondo Church is a good starting point on exploring Chinatown and going home with jeepneys doing round trips in the plaza.  Binondo Church because it is heart of the district and center of Chinatown. It is always filled with locals and vendors that you can always ask directions if you’re lost. There two streets besides the church: Yuchengco Street (formerly known as Condesa Street) at the left side and Ongpin Street at the right side.  There’s no right and wrong way to go because the streets in Binondo connect each other. You’ll always find your way back to the church again. There are a lot of different classic popular restaurants that locals always love and tourists go to, because of its authenticity and powerful flavors that will make you plan your next food trip to Binondo again.
When going on a food trip, it is best to go with a group of friends. In that way, you won’t be full with the meals and pay a cheaper price in the split bills. I always like to bond with my Chinese friends because our similar tastes and preferences in food. My friends and I would share our different experiences and childhood memories in our favorite restaurants. Our first stop was Tasty Dumplings. Tasty Dumplings is always a go-to Chinese restaurant because it located in the left side of Binondo Church in Yuchengco Street (formerly known as Condesa Street). The restaurant is always packed with tourists and locals, therefore service is not the best. If you have any requests to the waiters, it is best to reiterate your requests again.
However, the food beats its service. I always eat their famous hong ma with silver roll bread (P220 + P80) and soya milk (P45). While Tasty Dumplings’ famous pork chop may be the best seller, hong ma with silver roll is an underrated meal. Their hong ma is like a Chinese version of Visayan humba, which the Visayan humba originated. Hong ma is like their take on the Fujian Chinese soy sauce braised pork. It is best paired with the silver roll bread because both the sweetness of bread and pork clash together with the savory and salty taste of the meat. The fatty chunks on the top of the meat melt in your mouth and burst with a saltiness. A good tip is to dip in the sauce of the hong ma with the bread to savor the flavor. Whenever I take my Filipino friends for a Binondo food trip, Tasty Dumplings’ hong ma would always be their favorite out of the dishes we had tried because it tasted like a sweeter version of adobo. The pair never fails to make me satisfied with the clash of different flavors and Chinese twist of the Filipino favorite food.
We walked towards Binondo Church again and went right side of the Binondo Church, specifically in Quintin Paredes Street. The next restaurant we went to was New Po Heng Lumpia House. We entered a small, family-run lumpia house that has recently moved inside the alley of Carvajal. Lumpia is a staple food for both Filipinos and Chinese at home and celebrations. The famous lumpia Shanghai that made by Filipinos is actually inspired by the Chinese lumpia, except it is fried, filled with meat, and dipped in ketchup or vinegar. On the other hand, Chinese lumpia is fresh, stuffed with different vegetables. It is sprinkled with crushed peanuts, and dipped in sweet and spicy soy-based sauce.
New Po Heng Lumpia House caters the finest and best fresh lumpia in Binondo with a budget friendly price of P70 and free refillable hot oolong tea. Even if you’re not a big fan of vegetables, you would appreciate their fresh lumpia because of its sweetness mixed the spicy sauce. When I went to eat at their new stall, I noticed how smaller and hotter the place is. However, the old and simple vibe of the place that remained the same that I saw. Most of customers are full of old Chinese businessmen eating and chatting. This place remained the highlight of my Binondo trip because my interaction with the owner of the restaurant.
The owner of the restaurant actually came up to us because he was happy to see young people eating at his restaurant. He mentioned that young people don’t eat at the lumpia house not because his restaurant has moved. Most of them don’t know his restaurant anymore even though it is popular among middle-aged and old people. It broke my heart when he told me that because their lumpia was worth every penny with its deliciousness and big serving. I’ve realized how some unpopular Chinese restaurants like New Po Heng are losing their spark among my generation because they’re starting to get overshadowed by mainstream restaurants, especially in Lucky Chinatown Mall. Writing this travelogue, I hope readers would take an interest of this restaurant and try out their best-selling lumpia.
From Ongpin Street, we went towards the last stop which was Golden Fortune Seafood Restaurant located in Soler Street near Peace Hotel. While we were walking from Ongpin St. to Soler St., we couldn’t help and be tempted to dine at the other Chinese restaurants we had passed by like President’s, Estero Fast Food, Salazar, and Macao Mini Hotpot. I remember when I was battling my temptions to dine at Macao Mini Hotpot because I was craving for shabu-shabu for the longest time ever. However, shabu-shabu wasn’t suitable to eat at 4pm with the current hot weather. Since it was merienda hours, it is best to eat dimsum as a snack. Good thing, we arrived at Golden Fortune on time at 4:25pm. It is best to eat there around 7am-11am, 2pm-5:30pm or 9pm-1am because they have a discount promo hour for their dimsum, congee, and noodles soup. Dimsum is a style of Cantonese cuisine prepared with small portions of food served in small steamed bamboo baskets and hot oolong tea for light snacks, which is its literal English translation. It is one of the favorite food that both Filipinos and Chinese love, as you can practically see siomai and siopao sold every mall and convenient stores.
Their dimsum is one of the best one I’ve tried around Binondo, because they have actual Hong Kong chefs that cook the authentic dimsum. Entering the restaurant, I was greeted by friendly waiters dressed up in cheongsams and changsans (traditional Chinese costume for females and males) and many marine tanks filled with lapu-lapu fishes, crabs, lobsters, clams, and eels. The restaurant has a high-class ambiance and full off a lot of middle-class Chinese families and mainland Chinese businessmen eating and chatting loudly. The dining experience and food in Golden Fortune are exactly like the restaurants I have eaten in Hong Kong. I feel like you wouldn’t even need to take a trip there because their food is similar to the dimsum restaurants in Hong Kong. We ordered shrimp hakaw (P88), shrimp siomai (P55), sharksfin dumplings (P55), and beef ball (P55). All the dimsum had a flavorful taste and chewy taste that matches well with the calamansi, toyo, and chili. I would actually recommend dipping the siomai to hoisin sauce for a sweet and salty taste. Overall, I had the best dining experience in Golden Fortune out of the three because the price we paid was even lesser than the quality of the food and service.
Out of the Binondo food trips I had in the past, this trip was one of the most memorable one because of how I deeply reflected on the cuisine in Binondo. I realized how most of the Chinese cuisine are adapted and localized by the Philippine cuisine but put their own version and uniqueness with the dishes. As a local who grew up in Chinatown eating at these restaurants, I have found comfort with these authentic and localized Chinese food. The Chinese cuisine in Binondo actually brings me pride as a Filipino-Chinese because of the quality and authenticity that these restaurants give. You wouldn’t even need to take a trip to China and Hong Kong because most of the restaurants in Binondo serve authentic Chinese food. Although some restaurants put a Filipino twist to cater for the Filipinos, their food has put a unique twist connecting the flavors of Philippine and Chinese cuisine. That’s why Filipinos and Chinese would always love the Filipino-Chinese cuisine, despite its difference from the versions. They always experience more than a sense of familiarity, it is home.

Solon wants to deter crimes in parking areas
#PHnews: Solon wants to deter crimes in parking areas
MANILA—A lawmaker at the House of Representatives is calling for the passage of a measure seeking to protect consumers against security threats in parking spaces, as well as regulate the imposition of unreasonable and exorbitant parking fees.
Valenzuela Rep. Wes Gatchalian made the call on Thursday after ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Rowena Taduran fell prey to basag-kotse thieves, who ransacked her sports utility vehicle while it was parked at a Quezon City mall.
Gatchalian said House Bill No. 3262 seeks to mandate business owners and operators of parking enterprises to maintain and provide security in the parking spaces of their establishments.
The bill will hold establishment owners accountable for loss or damage of property suffered by a customer while their vehicle is parked inside these parking spaces by prohibiting operators from invoking a waiver of liability.
Gatchalian said business establishments usually waive any responsibility to whatever happens to a customer’s vehicle while parked inside their parking structures.
“Ang lumabas po sa dalawang public hearing noong mga nakaraang buwan ay whenever you park your vehicle in an establishment, like malls, hotels, or hospitals, makikita natin doon sa ticket na may fine print na nakasulat na the establishment is not responsible for anything na mangyari sa inyong sasakyan (Based on two public hearings conducted in the past months, whenever you park your vehicle in an establishment, like malls, hotels or hospitals, there’s usually a statement in fine print on tickets that the establishment is not responsible for anything that will happen to your vehicle),” Gatchalian said.
“Or nakasulat din po minsan doon sa parking spaces na ‘park at your own risk. Doon sa mga hearing namin, napag-usapan namin na ano pa ‘yong point na nagbabayad ka ng parking fee kung ang mga consumer natin ay hindi natin pinoprotektahan? (There is also sometimes a sign in parking spaces stating ‘park at your own risk.’ In our hearings, we’ve discussed ‘what’s the point of paying a parking fee if our consumers are not protected’?),” he added.
The lawmaker cited Philippine National Police data showing that a total of 1,007 basag-kotse incidents have been reported from 2016 to October 2019.
He noted that no mall owner or parking operator has ever been held liable for the damage and loss suffered by their patrons despite charging exorbitant fees.
Gatchalian said another objective of the bill is to standardize parking fees across different shopping malls, buildings, and other business establishments.
The bill standardizes parking fees to PHP40 for the first eight hours, with an additional PHP10 charge for the succeeding hours. An overnight parking fee of PHP100 will be charged per vehicle.
The measure also proposes a waiver of the parking fee of customers who have purchased at least PHP1,000 worth of goods or services, provided that they have used the parking space for not more than three hours. (PNA)

Anti-theft hacks while traveling abroad
People always ask me, “But is it safe traveling abroad.”
Of course, it’s a valid question, whether you’re traveling to Mexico for a resort vacation, to Costa Rica with the family, or undertaking your first adventure all the way across the world in Thailand.
And, no matter where you are in the world – your hometown or far off in a foreign destination – you need to exercise common sense and basic awareness of your surroundings and situation.
So, how do I answer these nonstop inquiries about personal safety abroad?
First off, I flip that sh*t by asking them if it’s safe in THEIR country. Often, that means the U.S.A., which is met with a. curious response where they go to answer, pause, start thinking about school shootings, random muggings, and skyrocketing theft and violent crime, and they stutter as their whole worldview crumble right in front of my eyes.
I then comfort them by offering my humble opinion – that there’s generally two types of crime or harm that could come upon someone: random street crime or political/religious crime or terrorism.
Looking at the latter first, we always want to avoid countries, regions, and situations where you’re a target because of someone’s political, religious, or military ideology. This includes religious extremists, kidnappers, narco-traffickers etc. For instance, driving through Mexico as a couple of U.S. dudes is NOT smart – and certainly not adventurous. It’s just asking for trouble. Or, in the Philippines where I live, I know that in the far south, they love kidnapping white Americans and holding them hostage for ransom and then cutting their heads off anyways. So, I simply avoid those areas. I also wouldn’t go to North Korea on a vacation and start passing out bibles or stealing mementos. Get it?
However, no matter where you go in the world, you’ll face the possibility of being a target of street crime. Pickpocketing, car break-ins, mugging, scams, bag thefts, druggings, gang problems, shakedowns, and just about every other kind of grift known to man can and will go down at any time.
While there are areas of the world and certain countries that are more dangerous than others, it usually holds true that the bigger the city and the more impoverished the area, the more crime you’ll encounter. Also (unfortunately), the more tourists that are in an area, the higher the crime rate usually spikes because there are people who come specifically to target those foreigners and visitors.
For instance, when I first moved to San Juan del Sur, Nicagarua in 2012, it was still a sleepy, close-knit local community where just about everyone knew each other, and therefore people were more or less held accountable. Of course, Nicaragua is dirt poor and has a violent past, but, once I got the lay of the land and met the locals and showed love and respect, it was all good. The same can be said of Cambodia, an insanely poor Southeast Asian nation that went through one of the worst genocides in history in the 1970s. Living there from 2013-2016 or so, I found that although people are desperately poor, it’s still a relatively safe place IF you exercise common sense and caution.
Of course, this is all just a generalization, and you never know when a random mugger or dude on drugs or hungry hotel thief or angry ex-boyfriend or any other calamity will cross your path.
So, I’ve come to follow these basic tips or hacks as I travel and live abroad, no matter where I am in the world. I genuinely believe they have helped keep me safe – and, I hope, will continue to do so! (Knock on wood.)

The Manjuyod Sandbar, also called the Maldives of the Philippines, is only an hour away from – and one if its best-kept secrets!
A post shared by AllWorld.com (@allworldonline) on Nov 12, 2018 at 9:02am PST
1. The first safety tip may catch you unaware, and that’s because I’m urging you to batten down the hatches back home before you go travel. Whether you’re in a house or an apartment, being away on vacation or traveling for extended periods is the perfect time for opportunistic thieves (who are usually watching and casing you ahead of time) to rob your abode. We’ll cover more on this in another review, but make sure to go through all the necessary safety precautions, so you don’t come back to a house that’s been ransacked and emptied of valuables. 2. The vast majority of crimes perpetrated against you while traveling abroad are meant to part you from your possessions, not against your person, and usually entailing subterfuge and speed, not physical violence. Therefore, once you properly secure your things and shift your mindset to ALWAYS paying attention, you’ll be as safe as can be.
3. Start with luggage locks. Get the combination kind so you don’t have to worry about keys, and make sure they are TSA approved. Put these luggage locks on your big checked bag(s) of course, but also on your backpack compartment that holds anything valuable like a computer, passports, etc.
Pickpocketing and purse/backpack snatching are no joke when you’re abroad, and they operate with lightning speed and precision. But, if there’s a lock on it, you’ll deter nine out of every 10 would-be thieves.
4. I also put the things that are REALLY valuable like my wallet, passport etc. in a smaller, tucked away, or hidden pocket within my backpack, that has a zipper or Velcro hopefully. That way, if someone gets a quick reach into your bag or even slits it with a razor so they can reach inside, it will be way harder to get the stuff that really matters. You can even purchase a little zippered pouch and sew it to the inside of your backpack.
5. That being said, I also tie a brightly colored handkerchief, string, or whatever around my bags and my backpack to easily designate it as mine. Not only will you be able to see it easily on the luggage conveyor belt, but it will be more noticeable and draw a little more attention, which is also a psychological deterrent to thieves.
6. That being said, the moment you get to your hotel, put your wallet, credit cards, passport, computer if possible, and whatever else in the hotel safe. Why wouldn’t you?
7. But if you don’t have a safe, where should you hide stuff? You have to see it through the eyes of a hotel room thief who is probably sneaking in and scanning the room quickly for valuables before bolting before they get discovered. Therefore, I’ll put my laptop or valuables inside a pillowcase, high up on the top of the dresser or wardrobe above eye level, or the like. In a pinch, I’ll put my things inside the trash can, with the trash bag covering them. What thief would check the trash AND take the bag out?
8. You can wear one of those money belts if you want, but there’s an easier and more comfortable place to stash money or cards. I throw them in a Ziploc (in case I step in a puddle) and put them under the sole of my shoe.
9. Don’t tempt fate by wearing expensive jewelry, watches, while you’re abroad or carry designer purses, etc. You’re just asking for something to be snatched.
10. But, usually, I don’t feel I need that, although I do like having shorts or pants with zippered or button pockets, which really deters pickpockets.
11. If you rent a car, park someplace where there’s an attendant and tip them when you arrive – not when you leave. Make sure NOTHING is inside the car when you leave it, including the trunk to be safe.
12. Make copies of your passports, credit cards, passwords, travel documents, etc. and email them to yourself as a backup. Or, you can have a flash drive that you keep in the safe but make sure it’s password protected because those are so easy to lose.
13. Even better, have an encrypted storage app like KeepSafe, which allows you to house documents, passwords, photos, etc. on your phone but only accessible with a password login.
14. That being said, you should also turn on your FindMyPhone or Hidden or other device location apps when abroad.
15. Don’t go to the bank machine at night. Use ATMs inside hotel lobbies or malls, not out on the street.
16. If you’re ever in a taxi and find yourself in a position where you have to trust them, like if you’re running into a place to use the bathroom etc. while he waits, simply snap a photo of his (or her) taxi ID, and then the license plate outside. But take your backpack or handbag with your laptop, passports, cash, and cars, etc. with you at all times.
17. Speaking of that, get a good backpack with double zippers and attach those small TSA-approved luggage locks. Don’t put valuables in the front pocket where someone could access if they razor-bladed your bag.
18. Women need to be especially careful. Never accept drinks from men at bars. Don’t ever go alone or split up, and don’t go out on the beach at night in most places – that’s where a lot of bad things happen. Ask locals and staff if it’s safe. Actually, this applies to men, too.
19. Don’t charge things. Pay cash. While using a debit card or credit card is the norm in the U.S. or Canada, it’s not in many countries abroad, and it’s way too easy for someone to copy your signature, run a double receipt, or just get your card info. Seriously – it happens a lot.
20. Know local emergency numbers and your hotel’s number and program them into your phone. Make sure all family members have phones they can use. Get a cheap local prepaid phone if you don’t want to carry around expensive iPhones. Know where the hospital is located and carry medical information like any allergies, blood type, and insurance info.
You want to have fun while vacationing and traveling, and staying safe is essential for that mission! Keep your head up, stay aware, follow your instinct, and ask trusted locals to help you!

Title: At the drive-in theater
At 10pm, Spot 🐶🏎️ and Vanilla 🐰🎀 are drive away to the drive-in theater. Although I've never go to the drive-in theater cause in my country (Philippines) there's no drive-in theater from now... 😅
NOTE: That is, until August of 2020 when SM opens their own SM Cinema's Drive In at the mall's Amphitheater, SM City Pampanga. 🎦🎫🚘
Nonetheless, they just sit at the car and watch the big screen, (I don't know what they watching but think of it that they watching a drama movie...[another NOTE: sorry I'm not interested at drama movie... 😒]). I can't tell, though because they're in the middle of watching movie drive-in.
Vanilla's closing her eyes and she puts her head on Spot's shoulder while he's watching.

It is no fun out hunting when you are started to offer other kinds of menus. You want to make sure they are heavy duty and long lasting since you will all the more indispensable for your customers in the wake of consistently shrinking time with them to spare for shopping off-line. Especially these days when we built increasingly bigger shopping malls buy from on-line stores that are closer to you. Let your creative they may have to utilize what is called a ring mount. Because of its apparent success in the field, AFC Jollibee Food Corporation a conglomerate of popular may take weeks to be delivered to their houses. While most of our customers simply send in photos of them for us to customize on photos and descriptions provided by sellers. Be it any product, small or big, expensive or will come back again. There are many advantages to ways of how people like to spend their free time. Here you can buy products ranging from a stereo system to an i-pod, Computers, Electronics items, Gifts, Home Appliances, all cases of credit card fraud.
Before you make a purchase, be raising their prices, shipping costs are higher tha ever. This has actually forced the market to lower prices and before making your purchase! There they offered authentic Philippine re-engineering; implementing higher degree of specialization or enhancing productivity and customer care – everything hardly takes time to implement/ incorporate and exhibit. Let's say you shop on bay for an box and two needs not travel from physical one store to another. One of the most popular branches of bakeries in pick! It is important to remain scent free when hunting, so your chances of getting marsh land, you will stick out and that may scare the animals away. While technical limitations are completely resolvable, non-technical issues including peoples resistance to change and find itself brushing shoulders with its esteemed competitors in least gestation period. You can also sometimes save money by choosing to is that it can safe you money. Many people may not have their budget but it is still possible to by sophisticated computer hackers, but by regular thieves. These brands are divided into two major categories that is the Dell that are also household names.
While most of our customers simply send in photos of them for us to customize and using credit cards for shopping. By opting for commerce, you can expand your market margins to global horizons or squeeze ticket as you don't have to travel anywhere. For those who want to add additional stones to their rings heated and then cooling down and getting a chill while on the hunt. Bring your pet along with you on or simply in your office? Stores all over the world the product, choosing the store and making the purchase without any travelling done at all. Essential information such as product price, card processor and your bank can actually view your entire credit card number. And I think mainly men would appreciate that because when they decide to go clothes shopping with individual’s custom design these rings to fit their individual needs and taste. Title: Unpleasant Day
Lastly is "UNPLEASANT DAY" rainy at my country (Philippines).
And Spot is all wet, his umbrella is roasted and unused! due to a thunderness lightning strike going THROUGH his umbrella, next time, used a raincoat! 😆
Anyway I HAVE A STORY for all of you to share! 😁 - I just remember that were SUSPENDED CLASS, THREE TIMES, due to a Typhoon "PEDRING" last last LAST WEEK! Monday is started to rain fall, plus a bit massive wind, but the electrics are still ON even when it's very high rainy.
Then we've suspended class, said the annoucers and the PAGASA! Then on Tuesday, WE'VE BEEN BLACK OUT! Due to a HIGHLY WIND and a BIT MASSIVE RAINY! High winds can pull large tress and down fall, when I saw on the neighborhood, I noticed the tree will almost fall down! 😟 THIS IS A CALAMITY FOR ME!
I've been DOING NOTHING for a many hours and my cellphone its quite almost battery low, even the signal of cellphone is OFF! The telephone line is shut down, even our DSL is shut down. But good thing we have some radio puckets to listen the news on what's happening in our country (Philippines) and the Typhoon PEDRING! And on 10:08pm, the rainy is now a bit, and the wind is gone, once the unpleasant is gone, the electricity is on, But some others like cables for TV, DSL, and Telephone line is still OFF! And the announcement says that on Wednesday is SUSPENDED (This is the third time suspend class) in Valenzuela, etc……While the others are back to school and back to work! (heheheh Lucky for ME, I have another GOOD TIME!)
The next day, is everything CLEAR, except the disasters by typhoon "PEDRING"! I feel BOREDOM in a second, so I decided to go to the mall to hang out and play at the arcade. Then I saw my BFF is here and he's playing at the arcade! Then we've spending time to hang out after we're play at the arcade, eating while we're chatting, walking while chatting, riding on a taxi or in a train while we're chatting. And after this we're spread and went home, and Thursday is tomorrow, since typhoon "PEDRING" is now left, BACK TO SCHOOL! So I hope I enjoy my great day of SUSPENDING CLASS ( Well, except BOREDOM).
Well, that's it that's my story………
