maybe if people stopped defining their identities by what movies they like then they could talk to people who don’t share their interests without feeling attacked by totally innocuous statements of opinion

#maybe i have thick skin since i don’t share media preferences with a lot of people i know in real life #but guys. toughen up a little bit. a little disagreement is good and healthy for you actually #also by being so aggressively defensive it makes you seem more wrong #if those movies were good you wouldn’t feel the need to attack every single person who is even indifferent to them #you’d just be able to be secure in your own opinion #and if you didn’t identify so hard with that opinion as your entire sense of self then that would be very achievable for you #and anyway i don’t know whose minds you think you’re changing by fighting people #think you’re exacerbating the situation because let me tell you. if you call me pretentious for not particularly liking something?#i can be pretentious. i’ll show you pretentious #and it’s always about big franchises or media really prevalent in pop culture with an already huge fanbase #if i don’t care about the next blockbuster of the month i’m pretty sure that disney is gonna be fine lol #anyway inspired by comments on that marvel post. people really love to make up fake scenarios to get mad about
