Final manifestations for Book 7?
I'm trying REALLY hard not to build up any solid expectations, because I wanna go in ~fresh~! they're already so far away from anything I thought would happen (not in a bad way, I'm just accepting that I'm on Miss Yana's Wild Ride at this point and we're seeing this thing through 'til the end, by gum). so it's nothing too major, but:
they've been handing new crying expressions out like candy lately, I want to see some delicious Malleus tears.
honestly I want everyone to cry buckets. their tears sustain me. the more Silver angst specifically I get the happier I am.

just let him have this. the poor boy's been through so much. let him have his big "I'm proud of you, son" moment with Lilia.
I'm 100% expecting Grim's arc (and probably whatever's going on with Crowley) to be its own episode, but a nice hook to leave us hanging on would be good!

Ages are 17, 16 and 5 (the twins were a happy accident hence the gap)
Second drawing is for color reference exclusively, it was my first pass! Everyone else’s designs are preeeetty much the same except for some minor changes tweaks with color.

A little 15 min doodle but first post of the year has to be Bingqiu!
#hoot art#ok its time to get mushy in the tags because I doubt anyone would read them too closely#I’ve had severe art block for YEARS before I got into danmei in 2024#and it wasn’t that my skill was gone it’s just that I thought nothing I did was good enough#I started reading danmei around the summer of last year and I got SO INSPIRED#I dived into the fandom side of things (I haven’t been in a live fandom in years) and was so excited about all the art people were making#and writing! and music! and animatics!#everything was so bright and colorful and beautiful#and everyone had such cool designs for these book characters that I’d grown to love#so I took a chance and doodled a little Luo Binghe and posted him on here#and I was so taken aback by how welcoming and sweet the fandom was#it made me wanna keep taking chances and posting my art— because I think that’s one of the hardest things I’ve come to accept#that even if it’s not good enough for me#someone else may enjoy it#and ain’t it crazy that ive come to enjoy drawing again too#sure the interaction has been fun but it’s been even more fun experimenting with my style and experimenting with colors and rendering#and grayscale and angles#and composition and expressions#ahh!! art is so fun!! a rough basic idea for a centaur character i have had floating around in my head for a long time, it doesnt fit with my main OC world but wouldnt call this another project bc its literally just "what if centaurs bc centaurs kinda cool" with little story or worldbuilding other than its all centaurs lol
(the only background is really a vaguely noble couple wanting to hire a new soldier/guard after their previous one is retiring but not being able to afford any highly valued ones (build, color, training- the kind of things horses are often priced with) so they opt for the cheapest to hire they can find which is this enormous draft centaur (vaguely based on the blue roan coat type) that no one wants bc he doesnt talk and never really responds otherwise to being talked to (so he dumb haha (he isnt)- to be clear he DOES what he is told but he doesnt like, sign an ok, he just "stares" and then wordlessly does it), doesnt have any well known parents and is too big to fit comfortably in most buildings, also a little unkept (mostly just in his fur looking pretty rough, not caring much for treating scratches etc- though its not that clear in this sketch)
over time said couple both falling for him, completely seperately/not aware the other also has, bc they actually started to get to know him instead of just going with what he was "sold" as and treating him accordingly (badly)- leading to him being caught in a very awkward "triangle" he doesnt know what to do with and just goes along with everything (hes very calm and stone faced in public but privately socially awkward, always been extremely lonely/isolated and never had to deal with any sort of interest in him as a person instead of just how much he can pull/work until collapsing)
#ganondoodles#art#original characters#oc#centaur#wip#i gotta go back and try to get his face into a shape i like more jkdnkjfd#oh and theres lots of cool coat colors i love in real horses but the really dark head of blue roans gave me the idea-#-of him having that loooong mane covering most his face AND his face being jsut as dark so you cant really tell what hes looking at#or thinking for that matter#maybe he was only really hired for heavy draft horse work and pretty badly treated- but also bc he never complains or talks-#-was just always worked to death- wordlessly doing heavy work (since thats the only thing hes good for etc etc) until his body gives out#and then having enough of that entered a sort of hiring “auction”- where professionals judge you and then allow you to enter a-#-festival of sorts where people (meaning other centaurs) can check out your capabillities and hiring price#yes kinda like a horse auctions but all among centaurs and for hiring- but with similar ways to judge a price etc#idk if that is anything#......such a dumb little side “project” and yet i wrote this much again jkfdbnvgjkfdbnvgjkdf#this really is IT though- i dont have anything more#no one has a name either njkdvgfndjknvgkd#and he does get clothes but i dont have the brain power to design centaur clothes at 2 am
