Y’all ready for some REAL oc stuff?? Excellent cause I’ve got plenty

For the last couple weeks of the school term I’ve been pumping out exploratory sketches of the cast of my ya novel to get a better handle on how I’d like them to look

Have some drawings of Lilith at various stages of her life with all the people she knows and has known in the six thousand years she’s been alive!

(There’ll be a companion post with some stuff I couldn’t fit here)

@lotusquil brought it to my attention that I can add illustrations to my “A Matter of Life and Death” chapters! So that might be a thing that happens from here on out (schedule willing 🤞) though I’m not promising anything too complex, just some sketches for visual interest

Anyway! I don’t really listen to Chappell Roan?? BUT Good Luck, Babe! Came up on the radio and it reminds me a lot of the dynamic between these characters so I drew this out between finals this week to the song!

Had kind of a… chaotic weekend 😅 to put it mildly, so no extracurricular art got done, but! I did find one Hades and Pers sketch I’ve never shared (pretty sure??) so I’m sharing below the cut

One other little update about this month’s chapter:

I have two back-to-back chapters that are pretty short. They’re filler/context chapters, so I’m considering doubling up and posting Chapter 4 on the 28th. We’ll see how that pans out because I might just plan a special piece or something for later this month, too!

Bonus post because I couldn’t fit it on the other one (yippee!)

These were oc related so I wanted to keep them separate anyway, but here’s my Zora Queen, Sola , hanging out with her kids and husband. She probably passed away shortly after Sidon was born but frankly I wanna think he got some time with his mom before she went

He inherited that winning shark smile from Mama

Second slide is Sola showing off baby Mipha to her proud papa and Dorephan is just falling in love all over again!!!

My mom and I have a running joke that he never leaves his throne because the archway to the throne room is too low

I was going to wait to share these? Because I have like twenty more drawings in the works, but there’s too many to post all at once anyway, so in the meantime my Zelda palies can have a handful of doodles

Some of these are old and a LOT of theme need context so I’m gonna list them one at a time from top to bottom, ahem

1. So, my sister and I have it in our heads that Tulin and Josha would get on like a house fire, partly because they are the only characters that are the same-ish age and partly because they’re both tenacious little turkeys (pun intended, yes) with LOADS of spirit to spare

But also, I can see Tulin hanging out around her a lot now that he's a Sage and will be spending most of his time at Lookout Landing. Plus Josha is all into history and relics and she's a little bossy so it just makes SO much sense that he'd develop a crush on her

I think he'd appreciate the attention, too! if he's anything like his hero, Revali, or even Teba (which, like father like son) he's bound to be a bit of a show-off around the ladies

Teba is somewhere off screen facepalming because his son flirts like a plywood board

2. NUMBA TWO; I was playing skyward sword on the switch, thought about loftwings, thought about Rito and bam! Crimson loftwing Rito. That’s pretty much all there was to this one. Thought about drawing Zelda’s loftwing as his wife too!

3. OKAY ITS BECAUSE DARSTON WAS MY FAVE IN ECHOES OF WISDOM, so i drew him in BOTW’s style. I have no regrets (I loved the Gerudo Princess too!) see a pattern here? Yeah, neither do I.

4. That’s just Gomo the Goromand because I’m lowkey in love with him and his funny little ‘do.

5. Just Urbosa being a total badass as usual and because her AOC dialogue in the Thunderblight Ganon fight sequence guts me a little.

6-9. Sage Charm designs I started drawing ages ago and still want to finish (but they’ll have to wait because of school)! I promise Tulin is there, he’s just trapped in thumbnail form!!!

10. Oldie but goodie because I am hyped for age of imprisonment and really, really, really look forward to seeing more of the dynamic between Rauru and his granddaughter. And also?? I want more of Zelda and Mineru’s relationship too, because that girl waited 10,000 years, witnessed the sacrifice of her niece, lost her brother, sister-in-law and her friends, AND her body, to help Link and if that doesn’t make her the coolest sage I don’t know what does

hey hello hi ik you've been Hades posting but I'm a little loz nerd and wanna share a dumb thought with you. Modern Totk. Link, Zelda, and the sages. Arcade. Link sees a ski ball machine. He looks at Yunobo. An idea sparks. He uses Yunobo to launch him at the machine. It breaks. Tickets spew out. Riju gets a sand seal plushie she's been eyeing at the ticket counter. Sidon is launching basketballs at an insane rate. Tulin is a master at DDR. Zelda regrets her decision to bring them to an arcade. The day is ended by pizza that's just "ok". Fun times had for all.

Okay honestly Anon I WISH they had a Korok puzzle in TOTK that was just, using Yunobo as a giant ski ball

I didn’t think it could get better than shooting him at gongs but here we are

Follow up point? Giant pinball.

Sincerely, thank you for these shenanigans and jut so that you know the TOTK and BOTW love is alive and well and I still am very much drawing content for the games 😂

If you don’t mind me asking a couple of things:

1. Have Hercule and Meg both become Gods at some point? Eros’s wife Psyche became a God and if so what Goddess would Meg be?

2. How does Hercules feel about his cousins and does he notice that Zagreus looked like him when he was a teen?

3. Do Hades and Zeus work out their differences?

1. This is a great question! One I have really thought about, if I’m honest. If I continue operating within the Disney canon, probably not? But I have considered a Hercules the Series spinoff-type-deal where the kids attend a high school for gods and Hercules is their gym teacher?? he doesn’t make an appearance in a Matter of Life and Death since the story revolves around Hades, but I would love to include him in another story further down the road!

2. I actually think Hercules would love his cousins! Specifically Zagreus! I imagine he actually has a decent relationship with his Aunt, and Persephone treats him like family, so obviously Hades has to play nice when he and Meg are around. Meg, I can see giving Hades hell about his marriage 😂 all in good fun, of course.

And yes! I deliberately made Zagreus look similar to Hercules — I get this question/concern a lot so I think I better clear it up real quick! Zagreus is a lot like Hercules in the beginning of the film — nervous, insecure, desperate to fit in — but he has half the brawn and twice the brains? So he’s even more awkward than Hercules was. Hercules also happens to be his hero! So he wants to be just like him.

They’re also related? So I imagine they would have features in common even if he wasn’t trying to mimic him?? Anyway, for those who ask! That’s my reasoning! And to answer your question, I doubt think Hercules would mind, I think he’d be flattered? He’s used to attention and being idolized, so…

3. NEVER. 😂 I think Hades still resents Zeus, but forms a begrudging respect for him after the way he handles his engagement to Persephone. And, Hades has better things to occupy himself with than being ticked off at his brothers now! He has a family and a wife to care about, he doesn’t have to waste so much energy hating Zeus anymore, because life is actually pretty good now!

Thank you so much!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Chapter two is on its way, and it’s a bit longer but I think you guys are going to like this one, too!

I have actually been giving this a LOT of thought! Especially since Hades has such an iconic voice actor; I wanted someone with an excellent singing voice but could hold her own conversationally with him as a character, as well. Originally, I debated using Cher as Persephone’s voiceclaim, but as she became more refined/developed I actually think Lady Gaga might be a better fit. Her style in the new Mayhem Album specifically! Also?? She seems so sweet and genuine and surprisingly down-to-earth in interviews! She’s perfect.

Just imagine all of the dramatic musical numbers!!😂
