#this is a promise to myself #i’ve been craving playing it for the past few weeks #i’m finally just like. im tired of ducking spoilers for one of the most famous games of all time that’s nearly 30 years old #i’ve started the game a couple times and one time even got like twenty ish hours in #but tbh im glad im committing to it now it’s a much better time #at least in terms of my enjoyment and appreciation of it #i just don’t think i was grasping it as well gameplay wise several years ago #but now. now even after just playing for a few hours tonight im like ohhhhhhh #the strategy and grinding and insane optimization side of my brain is so happy #it’s all coming together it’s clicking way more #anyway noooo fucking spoilers i genuinely have no idea what happens in ffvii and i’ve deliberately kept it that way #im so so so curious what clouds deal is i genuinely can’t wait to finally find out #collapsing and hearing voices and getting flashes of blinding white all by yourself handsome?#ciar speaks #not dmc

you'll get the urge as an artist or a writer to say out loud the things you're worried about "the proportions are off" "kind of out of character" "i'm not good at summaries" "didn't get as much detail as i wanted" "i made a mistake and here's how" and that's the self-conscious part of your brain telling you "it's bad and if you don't tell them you know it's bad then they'll think you're stupid" but you've got to ignore that little voice and pretend you think it's good or else that little voice is going to ruin your life

#psa: don't degrade your own work just because you're dissatisfied with it or worried other people will see the mistakes #project the confidence and the skill you're longing for will come i promise #not art #it's another one of my pet peeves online and something i had to learn myself #self-degradation is not the key to being a good artist online #it'll do more harm than good in fact
