i think karkat being a huge romance nerd is so fitting because naturally as a self hating teenager he’d be obsessed with finding some kind of belonging with someone. especially because of his hostility he would SO obsess of the idea of someone seeing past that and deciding to love him for who he is. Karkat would so desperately want someone to love him even if they hurt him because he hates himself. He needs someone to just look at him and feel SOMETHING, anything. And because of his self hatred he’s destined to push anyone that does love him away so he finds that he’s constantly alone and then craves any kind of attention even more than he already would. Idk if that makes sense but to me it does idk,,, just karkat needing to be loved but feeling unloveable at the same time ??? yeah

oh man i just got so much clarification about the difference between all the different usagi's cause i was really confused about the family name/given name situation between all the iterations HAHAHA . apparently yuichi is the FAMILY NAME and not his given name 🤯🤯🤯🤯 same with miyamoto, it's a family name and not his given one, so usagi was named after miyamoto in that his given name is usagi .

very sorry for referring to them as the usagi clan, i didn't know anything about this rabbit until i started reading up on him 😭 and a poster on tumblr also helped clear this up.

IMO fancalls and fanmeets in Korea are so weird and generally just demeaning and treat idols like they're props. I know the Korean culture surrounding famous people is so different to Western culture, but I literally cannot imagine handing someone like Harry Styles a baby hat and telling him to make cat noises while I bounce a camera two inches from his face.

I know not everyone acts that way during calls and meets, and there's been some genuinely heart-wrenching interactions between fans and idols (will literally never forget the girl who had Chan creased the whole time, man could not stop laughing and smiling 10/10 how it should be done) but most of the time its essentially treating idols like puppets.

I would literally vomit. You can visually see some idols trying to decide if fame is worth it.

honestly I couldn't have said it better myself!! and you're right like there are fans who actually treat them with respect and dont waste their time demanding them to do weird things but ofc that is overshadowed by creepy ones like they are the only ones who go viral and it paints a negative image in general. i mean, how is calling them "daddy" appropriate ? or telling them to bark ? some of this stuff they do and say that I have seen should have remained in their heads lmao like?? anyways I agree with everything you said I wish they would end it or at least give them the right to end calls as soon as the idols get uncomfortable bc the reason they keep doing it is bc nothing happens , they know they can say whatever they want to them yikes.
