#this isn't an unfair disadvantage but the bad kids ARE lucky that they just found each other first day and are all compatible/complimentary

You know not to keep harping on this but like if Kipperlilly wanted a mystery that's close to home it didn't have to be her parents, ya know? Like her party Wizard's grandma was paling around with Kalvaxus and her party cleric/best friend? is a descendant of a clan that was subjugated by followers of a god the Barbarian teacher is trying to revive, there was so much going on girl. If what she wants is a big exciting adventure then that's a skill issue, frankly. And it wouldn't have even helped her grades
You're right and you should say it.
Like, no idea if Oisin was flaunting that info from the jump but if she was down to hack her parents' emails I can't imagine she's above getting into her party's private business.
I really would like to pick her brain about what is it exactly that she wants because it's not like there was a lack of adventuring opportunities in the general vicinity. There were shenanigans happening in her party as you stated. A dragon crashed the prom that everyone was invited to. The sun went dark for a summer--did she try to do anything about that? This is Spyre. Things are CONSTANTLY happening.
And it's not like her party doesn't have advantages. She's being all, "There's a flaw in the system >:(" while she has Oisin on staff to supply the party with as many revivify diamonds and spell components as they need. I'm sure not every party has that advantage but you don't see her campaigning about that.
The thing about Kipperlilly that's been stuck in my head since we learned it is the fact that SHE came up with the High 5 Heroes name and was upset when it was changed. That's a name that makes me think of cheesy Saturday Morning Cartoons where things follow a certain formula and the good guys are best friends who always get along and all that (think Super Friends). Is that what she was expecting? Is that what she thinks she's being deprived of? Did she resent their name getting changed to the (arguably much more fitting as far as we know) Rat Grinders because she was holding on to the hope that they could still be that tight knit group of adventurers that she always wanted to be a part of? Like, she obviously has a major case of Main Character Syndrome and the fact that her life isn't conforming to that is what's driving some of her actions but I also have to wonder.
Is Kipperlilly more jealous of Riz's dead dad or his friends?

Is it just me or is everyone making a big deal about Marinette becoming guardian. Yeah she has to take care of all the miraculous now and yea she needs to fight hawkie with jewels she knows nothing about, but isn't ladybugs whole thing trying to find out what to do with her charm? Is the miraculouses and lucky charm that tragically different? Idk man plz help me out here T_T
I think what you have to realize is that now that Master Fu is gone, the ONLY thing that stands between Hawkmoth and absolute power is one teenage girl (and her teenage partner). Marinette is so smart and so capable and so powerful in her own way, but she is still 14 years old.
Look, the teenage years are rough all on their own. You’ve got school and homework and acne and weird hormones and overbearing parents and friend problems and unrequited crushes and a million decisions to make that will shape the rest of your life. And add being a superhero into the mix? Having to sneak out to fight an akuma two or three times a week, all while keeping this huge secret from everyone you love? And, despite saving the city yet again, you still have a physics test on Tuesday? YIKES.
And this is just how Marinette’s life is before she’s made the guardian. After? She has the additional pressure of being in charge of the most dangerous and important items in existence. Unlike Fu, she has a bustling civilian life, and she’s an active superhero. Fu was out of action for years, so he could sit around chilling with the miracle box all day. Marinette doesn’t have that luxury. She now has one more HUGE thing to balance in her already-crazy life.
Also, did I mention the fact that she’s 14? The stress of being Ladybug and guardian in training already drove her to breaking point, as we saw in the season 3 finale. She broke down crying three separate times in those episodes—once when she had to give up Adrien (which is obviously heartbreaking for her), once to Luka, and once to Chat when they were underwater. This is what she said to Luka: “Actually, no, I’m not fine at all. I’m so tired, Luka, of all these responsibilities, of having to put up a front all the time, of never being able to be who I truly am.” The poor girl felt so alone because of the lack of support! And then her mentor, the one person she always turned to when she didn’t know what to do, just disappeared from her life. And he didn’t even tell her about the memory loss side effect, so she was totally unprepared. And it had been, what, a few months that she was in training to become the Guardian? Not nearly long enough for her to learn everything she needs to learn or for her to feel properly prepared to take on such a responsibility.
Yes, Marinette is very smart, and she’ll figure out how to use the other miraculous just like she does with her lucky charm, like you said. But if Hawkmoth finds out her identity and comes for her personally, she’s at a severe disadvantage because he’s an adult who is far stronger both physically and magically. In Miracle Queen when Hawkmoth found Fu, Fu just used his power to wait for Ladybug and Chat to come as backup. Since he’s an adult, his powers weren’t time sensitive. But Marinette is just a kid—her powers time out. And she’ll probably live in constant fear that Hawkmoth will find the miracle box like he did before.
Plus, the guardianship goes so far beyond what she’s doing in battle. It’s just a big mantle for her to wear at such a young age. And she just lost her biggest pillar. She has no one to turn to for advice about guardian stuff, apart from the kwamis. I’m guessing she’s going to lean on Chat a lot more as her partner to ease some of the burden cause it’s just too big of a job to do on her own.
Sorry to like Go Off about this lol but yeah, this is a pretty big deal. Normally I stay pretty salt free on this blog but Fu is one topic that I can get pretty salty on cause I feel like A) his rules were unfair and dumb, B) he put too much pressure on literal children, especially Marinette, C) he never gave Adrien the time of day, and D) he just noped out of there and left this huge mess for Marinette to deal with on her own. (I mean, I guess he didn’t really have a choice? But COME ON.)
One thing’s for sure: Marinette Dupain-Cheng will be 10X the guardian Fu ever was. But I just feel bad for her. She’s a kid, and she’ll probably never get to act like one again. Being a superhero used to seem like it was fun and exciting for her a lot of the time, but all the pressure of the job PLUS the extra pressure of being the guardian seems to be taking that away more and more :(
