If I see one more skinny actor fancast for Jamie Reynolds (a canon plus-sized character), I'm gonna go bananas.
Listen, I've done it as well because it had slipped my mind that Jamie was canonically plus-sized when I first read ggbb. However, ever since rereading it, I've realised that he is plus-sized and should be cast with a plus-sized actor. I think a lot of people are too focused on fancasting someone who looks like Jude (Connor in the show) that they are forgetting that Jamie is not skinny.
Remember: fancasting is fun, but take into consideration significant attributes when fancasting. To put it bluntly: Jamie Reynolds is not skinny. Hope this helps!

Just a friendly reminder to tag Tears of the Kingdom posts with the tag "tears of the kingdom" or "totk." If you tag it with "totk" plus more words in the same tag like "I'm so excited for totk!" or something it doesn't actually get filtered. Tumblr only filters posts with tags that are exactly the same as what someone has entered their filtered tags list in the settings.
I've had several things spoiled for me because things weren't tagged properly and I'm sure others have too. I know it's kinda hard to avoid spoilers being in a LoZ fandom, but all I ask is that everyone tag Tears of the Kingdom posts with "totk" or "tears of the kigndom" so that filtered tags works properly for those of us avoiding spoilers. Many people will be grateful to you if you do.

i really love dc x dp tbh but i hate how so many fics end up making the batfam dumb as shit. and i don't mean in a "loveable goof" kind of way but in a genuine "these people don't have the skills or intelligence to be heroes" kind of way. which is just antithetical to their entire thing
sometimes it's because the writer just genuinely doesn't know anything about the batfam or what they've been through so they come across as idiots. and other times it's because the writer is writing op ghost king danny or just generally op danny and they genuinely think he could outsmart or beat them. more often than not, it's a combination of the two.
it's just so sad. like not only is it disrespectul to the batfam, essentially getting rid of all the skills and experience they have just to prop up danny, but it also makes things a lot more boring imo. don't get me wrong, i don't mind the occasional "main character is super op" kind of story, but it's boring when like 70% of fics are like that and there's no real challenge or obstacle for him. part of why the show danny phantom was so fun was that it was exciting and chair gripping to see danny have to deal with his new ghost powers, figuring out how to deal with ghost attacks or vlad, and dealing with school and his parents on top of that.
but often, dc x dp fics just,, get rid of any challenge for him. sure batman is a skilled detective but danny will always be able to trick him! sure cass has been trained since birth to read people's body language but this random ghost teen knows how to conceal and control everything!! yeah damian has also been trained since birth to fight and kill but this random guy from the midwest who just started fighting in his teens is so much better!!! like, alright. it's fun every now and then but it sucks when so much of the dc x dp content is just people acting like the batfam are the worst vigilantes/detectives in the world.
and honestly i still feel this way even with the ghost king danny fics because how? he's never had to deal with people obsessively reading his body language or reading between the lines. he's had to deal with hiding stuff sure but his parents aren't the most observant people - their whole deal was being neglectful. even as a ghost king, why would he know how to outsmart, take advantage of, or beat the batfam in any capacity when he would still mostly deal with ghosts. it's a completely different skill set here - one that he likely wouldn't be prepared for. it'd be fine if they at least attempted to explain why danny would have those skills (like league danny aus) but most of them don't.
and i'm not saying danny couldn't do it at all, especially if it's a ghost king au, but i'm just tired of seeing the batfam constantly downplayed in these fics Just to make danny look better, smarter, stronger, etc. ik most people in the fandom are just danny fans but it really shows with how they treat, characterize, and shit on the dc characters just to prop danny up. it also serves to occasionally make danny look like an asshole when he intentionally messes with them and basically commits psychological torture for a goof.

I love fandom, I do, fandom is basically my life, but sometimes I read the shit people write about their fave characters and i'm just like, i'm too old for this, please go touch grass, it's clear that you do interact with people irl, but they're either just as deep in fandom as you are or you are just so deep that you somehow still see every interaction you have as related to fandom. "I'm so ____ coded, and my partner is ____ coded, that's why we work so well" why are you evaluating your relationship based on how much the two of you are like fictional characters? why do you have to relate everything in your life to your fandoms? no, that person you dislike isn't villain-coded, they're just a bitch, or the two of you don't vibe, or maybe you said some of the same shit you say on the internet but to their face and they decided to steer clear of you

One story that'd be really fun to write out would be from a person that is isekai'd into the world of a dating sim as the heroine. They're one of those evil heroines that want all the male routes to fall in love with them. They even have that innate charm magic or they use methods like laced cookies to make the men fall in love with them. However, much to their dismay, there's this character that always foils them. He's the secret route that the heroine never took interest in. He passed out wards against charm magic. He finds antidotes to love potions. No matter what the heroine tries, he keeps foiling each and every single one of their plans. The heroine hates him but he finds the heroine and their tactics absolutely fascinating. They keep going at it until one day the heroine realizes with horror that they may have fallen in love with him.

are you aware you've added "horse tag" to posts with a cat and a cow? (genuine question, not trying to be rude)
yes i am lol! there are also coyotes and chickens in there if you scroll way back
i'm working on an art project involving a ranch so i like to collect assorted animal references. the tag is just called that because it's 98% horses by volume

also like. you need to not write off flaws in things you enjoy. don't write off copaganda or racism or homophobia or whatever or explain it away. sit with it and acknowledge it and how it shapes the thing you like, and how you cannot necessarily separate the existence of the thing you like from the fact that it contains harmful things - and its existence is, to an extent, harmful

normalize artists putting out 4-6 song albums with only bangers cuz i swear so many of these artists and their 14+ song albums are riddled with what feel like filler episodes
