𝐓𝐨 𝐌𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭. | PROLOGUE.

synopsis; jung seol and lee donghyuck were born on the same day and time, growing up together because of their families long term friendship and became best friends up until the age of fourteen. jung seol suddenly moved away to canada and they have lost contact ever since. however what happens when seol comes back to korea after six years?

warning; childhood friends to lovers trope, seol moved away and suddenly comes back, slow burn, angst is really freaking real here, mental health struggles mention on characters, fluff, smut will happen the more the story progresses, jealousy and possessiveness, dreamies will be here for plot, Seol’s older brother is jaehyun and her younger brother is Sungchan, college themes mention, seol is a music major student, donghyuck is a music major student, mention of ‘seollie’ nickname and ‘haechan’ or ‘hyuck’ nicknames. parents are childhood best friends.

seol and donghyuck sat in the girl’s bedroom, awkward silent ever since their parents told them to hang out alone privately. the girl fiddling by the small hem of her shirt, crafting a hole; the anxiety rising off the roof. donghyuck looking around the room he was met with musician posters— whether it would be from bands to solo artists, to western artists to korean artists.

donghyuck turns to seol, speaking first. “so…you came back.” he would trail, the girl humming a nod. “yeah, this is awkward i’ll be honest.” seol would reply back sighing.

“yeah it really is.” the boy replied back with a small laugh, seol and hyuck never felt awkward with each other before. in fact these two were such extroverts it became natural for them to click but it also didn’t help that they grew up together since they were babies. donghyuck knows so much about seol just as much as she knows about him: both embarrassing, sad and happy moments.

so when the two agree on being awkward it only made things worse for them. never in their life would they imagine the only person they had a really deep life time long connection, to be gone in just matter of years. seol bit the edge of her tongue.

it wasn’t helping now that seol can realise and appreciate the moment where donghyuck grown up to be fine as hell. seol felt like her eyes immediately linger on the boy with heart eyes. the way his tan clear honey skin stayed, she always loved the way he had this trait— everytime it hit summer he only got darker and donghyuck sometimes complained at the sun. but seol would tell the boy he looked pretty with his natural tone. it puts him at ease. His bambi eyes were still there, those kind Iris flicking between the room possibly trying to figure a topic of conversation, then again he doesn’t want to force one in case seol doesn’t want to speak.

the boy’s heart shape lips curl, the anxiety shown through the way his eyebrows arch downwards. seol flicks her head away when donghyuck caught her staring, red handed. “take a picture while it lasts.” he said with a half smirk.

seol scowling, “no idea what you’re talking about.” the way he heard the denial, donghyuck wasn’t expecting seol to have the stubborn trait still, some things never truly change. he leans closer to seol, the smirk wide as ever. “you keep staring at me, why?”

the skin shudders at the close contact when donghyuck’s sweet soft breathe hit Seol’s skin. eyes falling to those talkative lips of his.

this is when she knew, that things can’t go back to the way it seems. her heart won’t be the same.
