Did anyone else noticed that Charles seems to be the only one that puts effort to save them from death or being taken away?
Maybe I need to watch the show again, but of all the times they were in danger of being separated, Charles is the first one to step in and defend them. I don’t think I remember seeing Edwin step in or fight or do something to avoid the situation, I wonder why that is? (Unless he did but I don’t remember because I have a brain of a goldfish) but I wonder why, some times it gets me thinking if it was Edwin’s turn to fight for them, is he going to do it? WILL he do it? Is he willing to go as far as attacking someone (like Charles did with the night nurse) or even worse? What would he do in that situation?
It gets me thinking as well, even if Charles doesn’t feel the same way. His feelings for Edwin (platonically) are so so deep and immense that he would literally do ANYTHING to not get separated from him almost like he literally CANNOT live without him, maybe he cannot imagine what he would do if he doesn’t have Edwin by his side. They have been together for so many years, he’s used to him. Losing him would probably send him into a mental breakdown or worse, and that is something interesting to think about.
In case you were curious about the latest book he has read and his go to hype song.
Also DBDA Fandom, we have a job to do now 😅
I also shared with him that I lost my grandfather to Parkinson's Disease recently and he had some really really sweet words to share (I didn't include that part of the video but I just wanted everyone to know how kind and thoughtful he is)
[<==PREV PAGES] [NEXT PAGE==>(not out yet.wait a year.or maybe more.imagine.]
saw alot of comments on prev pages; saying 'i HATE that mean teacher! im gonna FIGHT HIM!!' & i LOVE the energy!! it WOULD be nice. to have that catharsis. but the story of young tidestrider is Not one of catharsis. it is a story of being so small and so special and sucking so bad.
Crossing my fingers that there's a chance we could get Telomeres, Euclid, Descending, Gods, or The Apparition on the set list at some point this year.
Like I know that hearing those live might be too much of an earth-shattering mass hysteria risk, but pls just give em some love on stage at least once then I'll shut up about it
Additional thoughts (and/or hot takes, idk the general opinion on some of these yet lol):
If they play Euclid I think it's a good thing I can't see them live: my mortal body would instantly sublimate and my soul would get shot through the atmosphere and splat face-first in front of the gates of Heaven. Mind you, I'd still be shitting crying throwing up viewing it through a screen but at least I can mentally degrade in the comfort of my own home. (<- least dramatic Euclid enjoyer)
Descending seems to have mixed opinions but she's my babygirl and I would die for her. Also most unlikely to get played live tbh considering it's mostly V with an electronic track, and idk how he could switch registers that quickly or how he would perform the pre-chorus (probably head voice but idk). A girl(??) can dream tho
I'm not a huge fan of the studio vocals on Gods* but I think with Vess having a better technique now and IV as support it would sound so fucking cool. Especially Ivy!!! I wanna hear more of him I am in LOVE with his scream <33333333
*It sounds like he hadn't quite got down a healthy, sustainable scream technique yet compared to short bursts on other songs. And it might just be me but the production sounds like a mid-range gaming headset — as in, it sounds like the mic was peaking or they added a lot more distortion in production. Peace and love Vessel, you sound so fucking good in Vore I would love to hear THAT vocal technique on Gods my little feral rage kitten <3
finished pluto in a span of two days and here are my thoughts:
first off, this is an extremely polished and well-made adaptation – urasawa was clearly consulted throughout the production process
the landscapes – of the city, the countryside, the war – are beautifully drawn. the blending of cgi and traditional elements were also done fantastically
i will say, however, that there were scenes with hercules in episode 2 that look over-rendered; given his pale colour palette, the added exposure didn't come off well on screen
the voice acting is wonderfully – no surprise, given the line-up of seiyuu in the japanese dub. hikasa yoko did a splendid job as atom, and i was quite partial towards miki shinichiro as the painter robot (for the short time he was onscreen, rip)
the "bohemian song" sung by north and sir duncan was gorgeous
as for the plot, i think we could've spent a bit more time on dr roosevelt (the teddy bear) and thracia's part in the war – it's relevant political commentary for current events, though i'm sure the team did not expect it when they decided on the release date
lastly, as someone who went into this show completely blind, the unfolding of the story was very satisfying. i'm familiar with naoki urasawa's writing, so i kinda knew what to expect, but i was blown away by its depth and narrative implications anyway. the blurring of lines between robots and humans, the recurring themes of memory and trauma, the consequences of war and conflict, and in turn, their effect on extremist ideology and the perpetuation of violence – these were all handled respectfully and with a lot of tact.
Sorry but I won't lie dude being like so cherubic and sweet looking as he thanks Xiao Lanhua for helping to essentially revive his heart and bring him back and then following that with And Now I Will Kill Everyone Who Has Ever Judged You Or Mistreated You- I Will Give You Back Your Home And You May Do With It Whatever You Please MY Angel is so. Like Noooooo don't commit genocide but also? The bad boy in a romance show being a sweetie to the girl he likes whilst speaking on that evil shit to everyone who's ever wronged her? Sorta everything to me right now.
the biggest compliment is when I go to somebody's house and their child is immediately drawn to me, showing me their toys and talking to me and seeking my attention, and the parents go 'wow he really likes you, this never happens it always takes him a full hour to even open his mouth around a stranger?'
