Alright so it’s safe to say that someone is shouting for Steve to run away from something and the first instinct is to be worried for Steve because he would definitely pull the sacrifice play if he had to…but personally I’m a little bit more worried about Robin (or both of them)..let me explain why.
Tumblr media
We know Will is there, a source claimed that in fact ‘everyone’ is. But we also know that Millie isn’t, as a picture of her not being on set right now came up. So it’s safe to say that we most likely have a big portion of the cast around during the shoot and not the entire cast.
In the first recording it was pointed out that someone could have been yelling out Mike’s name instead of the first “Steve!” and whereas that’s personal interpretation I can definitely hear it. And I can also hear Will’s voice out of that. Makes sense, right? Will shouting Mike’s name? That would just mean that Mike is present, too. We knew that he and Will would be attached to the hip in season 5 thanks to the foreshadowing in season 4. And we confirmed that there is someone else that will at some point team up with both of them.
Dum dum dum, Robin.
I personally believe it’s only Will shouting but regardless of you believe it to be and who it actuallyis (Dustin or Jonathan perhaps), they’re telling Steve to run, which means that Steve most likely refuses to leave the battle field.
To point another thing out about the video, I also believe that we can hear Steve himself at the very beginning of the recording and he sounds kind of desperate, in my opinion. If I’m not completely crazy I’m pretty sure I can hear a “Let her go!”
So what I’m trying to say is, what if Vecna has Robin and Steve refuses to leave her side and that’s when himself is targeted, which we can hear in the second recording.
I can’t add the video but Maya Hawke has recently talked about Robin’s arc in season 5 and stated that she’s more involved in the supernatural stuff than ever and finding friends and looking for love.
I find it really hard to believe that they are going to kill off Steve, Dustin’s second father/big brother figure after doing it to Eddie in season 4. I’m pretty sure they introduced him so they didn’t have to kill Steve. Besides, Steve means a lot to most people in the group whereas Robin is probably the least connected person as she’s the newest, meaning that her death would hit everyone, but it wouldn’t break them like Steve’s death would- except for Steve himself.
It’s clear to me and probably most people that Will is going to suffer plenty next season and him making friends with Robin and then losing her to Vecna right away would definitely hit home. And because he already lost Robin, he doesn’t want to lose Steve too.
Tumblr media
Just another small theory I wanna throw into the mix:
Will shouting for everyone to run reminds of him telling Joyce to run through the lights in season 1. Despite being in the upside down, he found a way to help Joyce by telling her to run. I’m thinking that in this scenario Vecna might have him trapped somehow, in a way that results him being cut off from the others in some way that they can’t hear him? As in basically torturing him because he can’t help his friends out, who possibly don’t see Vecna coming, and has to watch them die. That at least would explain even more why he’s the one yelling…

this video has confirmed that daniel howell loves a process. he loves steps. he made a drink that involves BOTH freezing water and boiling water. actually not only boiling water once but boiling water TWICE (one for boba and one for tea)...imagine ordering this drink at a bar and someone's like "hold on give me an hour and half"

This is big spoilers for the commercials in the Awayfrompryingeyes website on the Welcome Home site.
I've been saying since DAY 1 that Eddie Dear was going to be one of the most important Neighbors to pay attention too, aside from Julie, Frank, and Sally. And this update just practically confirmed it, I had this long running suspicion about Eddie Dear, and it's that I think he was one of the first besides Wally to gain sentience in a way.
I know most people believe Wally was the one who "woke" up first essentially and was able to see the reality of what they were actually living in, but I think Eddie Dear was the first of Wally's friends to actually wake up. My reasoning for this is that Eddie's "backstory" on the neighborhood page is so vague and strange compared to the other neighbors. He's the ONLY one who doesn't remember where he came from, and we see routinely throughout these updates that he's kind of the odd man out a lot of the times.
And that's not totally unusual for a kids show, but there's something about Eddie that just points to him being a lot different from the other puppets. Like that he's also the only one who's able to actually tell what time it is, as he's the only neighbor with a real watch.
And he really REALLY wants to fit so badly into the world of Welcome Home that he sticks to his job as a mailman as much as he can. But even looking at his interactions with the others, you can tell he's not quite playing the role he's been set as perfectly.
I don't think Home (the house) had anything to do with Eddie waking up, I actually think it was a combination of Eddie just not being able to mesh well with the part he has to play and the other characters breaking his routine without asking him. The moment that really shakes him is when he can hear the Narrator say "And Eddie Dear was happy." and i think that's because he really doesn't know if he is happy or not. Home is still strange because its obviously the one thing that Eddie fixates on when he first gains sentience, but I don't think its what shook him out of just being a puppet only.
Eddie is also so obviously playing along with the idea of Homewarming and doesn't actually know much about it. But he's not letting the others know this, as when he's alone is when he tells himself to just "focus on the festivities" instead of the other confusing parts of Homewarming. When he's with Poppy decorating the tree (with turkey...? and gravy...?) He just makes it seem like what they're doing is a no brainer, and something everyone does during the holidays.
But when he starts spiraling at the party, all of the things he helped decorate look strange and confusing to him. He can't focus on anything, staring into the wallpaper makes it seem worse, and the fabric of his own reality is literally being ripped at the seams (there's just an excessive amount of video tearing which I equate to Eddie's sense of sanity at the moment and just how present he really is)
It's here that Eddie finally realizes just what they're doing, and what everything really truly looks like. Eddie even tries to focus solely on Frank's face to sort of ground him, but the goddamned credits for the episode itself is playing over Frank's face and obscuring his vision. The scene itself wants to move on but Eddie is still able to see what the audience normally wouldn't be able too, and that split from his reality to ours is what makes him freak out in the end.

Word of warning we just got a ton of possible leaks about season 2 of "Rings of Power" coming from The One Ring Net source. However, I will point out while a few of these seem possible this reminds me a lot of other "leaked" things for my other fandoms, especially DC and Marvel movies/shows, and most of those turned out to be false and fans just posting things for their own enjoyment. However, this is how it first leaked that Halbrand was Sauron before season 1 aired. Some of these do match scoops/spoilers we've gotten from Fellowship of Fans an interviews with the cast, but some of these are so out of left field. I'll post a breakdown under a cut of the major ones but you can see the post in full here. But I will point out some of these would be massive changes to the lore that even I'd be shocked if they do it, so again we'll see.
So the first thing that matches what FOF and even Charlie Vickers teased is that season 2 is going to show a lot of Sauron flashbacks and tell his side of the story and that we'll be in on his plans the whole time. But according to this post the Mairon version is a separate actor and that Gavi is actually the Annatar version but Halbrand/Charlie is still the main one going forward.
They're saying the Tolkien estate gave Amazon more access to "The Silmarillion" and we will see all the Valar, Maiar, Eru (he's just a voice though so we won't see a person), Melkor/Morgoth, Mairon (even called this name), Gandalf/Mithrander (who is Daniel's The Stranger), and even Ungoliant as we get this full backstory in the show.
Halbrand will go back to the dwarves and reveal he's Mairon to them and they truth him because of Aule.
It'll be revealed that Sauron/Mairon had a son and Adar killed him, which was why the line Adar said about "a woman or a child" was said in s1. No idea who the boy's mother is but possibly Amelia Kenworthy's character. This is a huge departure but would be interesting to have Sauron/Mairon/Halbrand actually have been a father and the 2nd Maiar besides Melian to have children.
Gandalf/Mithrander will also have flashbacks, including that he almost sided with Mairon, and even introduce Shadowfax.
Tom Bombadil and Goldberry will appear, which we already saw a leak about this possibly happening last year.
Supposedly Halbrand/Sauron does keep up his infatuation with Galadriel but actually goes back to Eregion not as just Annatar but as Celeborn!!! 😮 So they don't rescue Celeborn after all but it is Sauron/Halbrand and it's making it sound like there's romantic scenes between them but again it's actually Sauron/Halbrand with Galadriel and not Celeborn. I know some of us Haladriel shippers have written this exact thing in our fics and if this really does happen that again hints that Sauron/Halbrand really could be Celebrian's biological father which I would be shocked if the show did this even though I'd also love it. LOL Then add in if they do this change where Sauron had a son that died and possibly ends up having a daughter with Galadriel. It does sound like the real Celeborn does come back too at some point so if this happens this is going to be interesting, even though I know a lot of the purists and regular LOTR fans might hate it.
The season does end with Sauron forging the One Ring, which FOF has also been speculating. The thing is if Galadriel will be with him when he does as FOF reported on her being captured by Adar during the Battle of Eregion with this also confirms happens in the last 2 episodes.
They're also saying too that the season will also end with Galadriel making a choice to save either real Celeborn and/or Sauron/Halbrand as Celeborn, which again could point to above that she gets captured and then decides to stay with him. So this is going to be very interesting if any of these turn out to be true.

I just started watching today's crafting stream VOD and suddenly got the idea what if the thing Zed's doing for the first time is the same thing Joe's done secretly, even if that doesn't overlap with Life?
Also Joe needs the Xisuma mask and he also possibly needs props to facecam over bizarre footage of people in the series and I can't imagine Xisuma doing Life series lol
Also Cleo said that she won't be recording anything this coming Monday. Also maybe implied or maybe joked that she's in the same thing as Joe instead of the Life series? (There was one point where they mentioned a person who's in both of their videos who they weren't expecting to be, so I think Cleo's still in Life series.)
Later, Cleo: "Me and you have a bunch (of editing) to do, but Etho's got a bunch a bunch" and Joe also made an Etho mask... Etho in both series?
Then later Joe makes Falsesymmetry, Iskall, Jevin, and Welsknight masks! (Which kind of made me think these masks might not be for whatever's coming soon, since we haven't heard from Wels in a while as far as I know?) But he said he needed the masks by the end of the stream, to have time to film with them, but specifically Xisuma and friends. So maybe it's not confirming that any of the others besides Xisuma will be in whatever Joe's video will be? Maybe just any hermits would do for Joe's... masks scene?
So, maybe it is something modded and hermit/Hermitcraft-y... also at the very end Joe did a camera test with the masks and said "we're not just playing Minecraft!" a couple of times, but maybe that will be in reference to them being masks rather than anything about the series?
ohhhh thank you for this further summary. honestly yeah I’m putting in my prediction: tomorrow, zedaph and joe and who knows who else release a modded series. if I’m wrong then I’m wrong but I wanna be right,

[Notes]: The story is told from young Victor’s perspective + includes the narrator’s POV towards the end sporadically~ 💕
【Chapter 1】
Tumblr media
It’s early autumn, and Loveland City hasn’t yet shaken off the lingering summer heat. The breeze, still carrying the residual heat, slips through the cracks of the windows into the dormitory, dispelling the slight chill.
The hour hand of the alarm clock by the bedside is about to point to six. I roll out of bed, pick up my toiletry bag, and turn around, heading for the door.
Tumblr media
Once I’m done freshening up, I plan to go to the cafeteria for breakfast before heading to the classroom to drop off my backpack.
Considering the time required for submitting summer vacation assignments, preparing for the first class, and accounting for any unforeseen circumstances…
I should have enough time before I need to be at the playground at 7:30 to confirm the final proceedings with the emcee of the flag-raising ceremony.
??: Morning, Bro Vic~
A slurred voice sounds from the side just as I wipe the water off my face, and then that familiar face comes into view.
With his mouth full of toothpaste foam, Zheng Xi tilts his head back and makes gurgling sounds as he rinses his mouth. His hair is so disheveled that it could hide a couple of eggs within.
Victor: Morning.
Victor: It’s rare to see you not stepping on the dot.
Zheng Xi: New semester, fresh start. Besides, we can’t lose face to our seniors. Must follow the examples of Bro Vic!
Victor: Don’t make things harder for yourself, and don’t end up straining your neck when the time comes.
Zheng Xi: …cracking cold jokes on such a hot day. I must thank you for it.
As he speaks, he haphazardly wipes his face a few times and then carelessly tosses the toothbrush into the washbasin.
—
The corridor has become much livelier when I walk out of the dorm room again after changing into the school uniform and hanging my backpack over my shoulders.
Accompanied by the sound of flowing water, the jingling and clattering sounds reverberate through the corridor in the early morning. The doors of different dorm rooms swing open and then close, as if orchestrating a concerto unique to high school life.
Walking beside me, Zheng Xi suddenly begins to talk.
Zheng Xi: You haven’t said hello to our new roommates yet, have you? One of them was in Section 6, and the other was in Section 9.
Victor: Oh, didn’t we have a quick encounter earlier?
Zheng Xi: Saying hello means introducing yourself, not just exchanging a brief glance and nodding, okay?
…it seems like one summer break isn’t enough for someone with a young-at-heart mentality to have much growth.
Victor: If only you could channel this meticulous attention to every wording in your reading comprehension, “Empress Dowager Hu” wouldn’t call on you to answer questions every class.
Zheng Xi: Don’t jinx me! Also, my mom practically had detained me these past two months to catch up on Chinese. Who knows, I might have improved by leaps and bounds.
Zheng Xi: Speaking of which, why would teachers like “Empress Dowager Hu” who receives awards yearly, teach liberal arts classes? Oh well, damn lucky Wu Xing!
Victor: Well, that’s not necessarily the case.
Victor: I’m afraid pulling up the Chinese language grades for a student like you who is biased towards specific subjects is more about showcasing your skills.
Tumblr media
As expected, the wails of anguish resound. I shake my head helplessly, finding myself already somewhat accustomed to this.
I just can’t wrap my head around how this guy who’s been getting nearly perfect scores in math since the first year of high school can be so one-track-minded in other subjects.
—
As we walk into Section 1 of the first year, I find that quite a few students have already arrived. Among them are both familiar and unfamiliar faces.
Some are in groups, chatting about their summer vacation experiences, while others sit alone at their desks, organizing their textbooks.
I cast a brief glance at the seating chart on the blackboard and quickly find my name.
Surprisingly, it’s the same seat as before. That’s actually good.
Just as I’m about to lift my foot, I notice the person next to me is still squinting while trying to find his name.
Victor: You can stop searching; you’re in the first row.
Zheng Xi: …
After setting down my backpack, I find that inside the desk, there’s a carton of milk, its outer packaging still oozing moisture from the condensation.
Tumblr media
Whose is this? And why is it placed here?
Before I can even inquire, my arm is poked with a pen cap.
I tilt my head and see a boy I’m not that familiar with pointing at the milk carton in my hand.
Boy: Um… I put it there. Don’t take it the wrong way–– I’m just helping someone out. I’m delivering it for a girl who used to be in my former Section 6.
Zheng Xi: Whoa–– it’s been ages since I’ve seen a scene like this. I almost feel like I’ve traveled back to our first year.
Zheng Xi walks over to poke his nose in as he hears the noise, wearing a gossipy look.
Zheng Xi: I know many folks from Section 6. Who is this brave soul? Spill the beans.
Boy: Uh, she specifically told me not to disclose her identity…
Zheng Xi: F*ck! Quite smart to keep her identity under wraps. It’s a shame, though, cause she’s also fallen into the pit. How come she hasn’t heard about our Bro Vic’s wide reputation for being strictly incorruptible and not getting anywhere near girls?
He lowers his voice as he speaks, feigning a sense of mystery.
Zheng Xi: Besides, there’s a name this guy keeps murmuring about in his dreams all the time…
Victor: Was your summer vacation too boring since you had to keep these words pent up for two whole months?
Victor: Here, drink this to moisten your throat.
Victor: So you don’t get stuck while trying to recite Classical Chinese in the first class.
–
I toss the milk to him, grab the speech notes, and stand up to walk out of the classroom. Sure enough, a wave of cries akin to “wailing ghosts and howling wolves” follow from behind.
Zheng Xi: See– see! Such foul temper and unapproachable look on his face! I bet it won’t be long before everyone who wants to give him a gift will be scared away!
Tumblr media
It’d be the best outcome– ideal to avoid any complications.
–
I stride down the stairs with big steps, until the refreshing air fills my nostrils.
Victor: [murmuring to himself]  …how could I possibly sleep-talk in my dreams, [sounds as if he’s telling himself–]  idiot.
Thinking about Zheng Xi’s incessant chatter leaves me speechless. Even though they all unanimously claim that I do mention that name in my sleep, I remain skeptical.
While searching for information about the orphanage incident, it's highly likely that I came across the compiled data from the past few years.
Tumblr media
Inhaling a deep breath, I continue walking toward the playground.
To be honest, I’m not oblivious to the significance of those gifts and the feelings that can blossom at this age. It’s just that, personally, I don’t find them as something necessary.
Time has always been best spent on more important endeavors, whether achieving short-term goals or paving the path for long-term plans. From this point on, it’s crucial to be adequately prepared.
Anything unrelated to these matters is just a waste of time.
I take another turn, and sunlight filters through the greenery, casting vibrant patches on the plastic athletic track, creating a colorful dance.
It’s 7:10 sharp, right on the dot.
—
[Tidbits]: For those who are unaware, all the dream-talk is a reference to Victor’s R&S “Six out of Seventeen,” (find the translation here by @/cheri-translates), which touched upon the extent of his long and strenuous search for MC— including the little crumbs as how he’d call a girl’s name in his sleep and his roommates would tease him about it– which we got to see a bit here as well. I do VERY HIGHLY recommend reading all the canceled R&S for yourself because if you haven’t, you have NO IDEA what you’re missing out on! ༼;´༎ຶ ۝ ༎ຶ༽

【Chapter 2】
Tumblr media
Victor: Teacher. Reporting!
The people in the office glance up at my voice, the rapid movement of their pens coming to a pause. Teacher Hu adjusts the wire-framed glasses on the bridge of her nose, displaying a composed smile.
Teacher Hu: Come in, Vic.
Teacher Hu: Here— the mock Chinese exam papers for our section. Take them and hand them out. I’ll discuss them during the class later.
As she speaks, she taps the stack of test papers on her left with the tip of her pen, then retrieves a laminated file from the drawer.
Teacher Hu: In here, you’ll find the scores and class-grade rankings for each subject this time. Help me attach them to each student’s respective test papers one by one.
Teacher Hu: We have an eye exercise break during this class, right? You can stay here and get everything organized before going back. Here, the paperclips.
Victor: Roger.
Once Teacher Hu finishes speaking, she resumes grading the papers with her head lowered. It seems … she is grading the Classical Chinese reading exercises from yesterday evening’s self-study session? The moment this thought springs to mind, I quickly glance over.
Luckily, I answered that set of questions quite smoothly yesterday.
Thinking this way, my fingertips subconsciously relax as I untie the knot. As expected, the report cards are sorted by student ID.
Just as I’m about to begin flipping through them from the back, Teacher Hu’s voice sounds right on cue.
Teacher Hu: Vic, you did quite well in the exam this time, but there is still room for improvement. Your math teacher, Mr. Gao, also asked me to commend you properly.
Victor: …thank you, Teacher.
Teacher Hu: Zheng Xi-- that kid has also made some progress. It looks like he’s finally catching on.
Victor: I’ll relay the message on your behalf and tell him to keep making persistent efforts.
Soon, I spot my own name among the array of report cards.
Chinese 132, Math 140, English 125, Physics…
Tumblr media
Victor: [sighing LONG and HARD in disappointment] …
My gaze at once shifts towards the ranking listed at the bottom of the paper.
Section Ranking: 4th, Grade Ranking: 13th.
My heart, which has inexplicably leaped into the air, temporarily settles back into its original place. I continue with the sorting, but my thoughts involuntarily begin to decelerate.
Thankfully, I’ve performed decently in the physics and chemistry exams, and my ranking is still within the range I had set for myself.
However, my English score is unexpectedly almost 10 points lower than my estimated score. So, where did things go wrong?
The classroom bell chimes, and the music for eye exercises flows through the air. I’m unable to come up with an answer, so I just subconsciously speed up my movements.
Teacher Hu: Xiao Luo turned in the participant list for the Autumn Sports Festival yesterday. I noticed you signed up for the friendly soccer match?
Victor: Yes. There aren’t many students in our section who play soccer, and I’m somewhat familiar with the basic rules and regulations of the game, so I thought I’d participate to make up the numbers.
Teacher Hu: That's great; participating in this kind of activity is a good thing. It's important not to focus solely on academics; diverting some of one’s attention to meaningful activities like this can also contribute to their self-development.
Teacher Hu: Don’t you think so, too?
I nod in agreement, vaguely sensing that Teacher Hu’s words seem to carry an implicit meaning. After picking up the file bag and exam papers, I slightly bow in her direction.
Victor: Teacher Hu, I’ll take my leave now.
Teacher Hu: Sure… ah, Vic, there’s something else I wanted to ask you.
Teacher Hu: Wu Xing from your former section, is it true that he is dating the academic representative from section 3?
Victor: Is it? I’m not too sure about that.
Teacher Hu: Weren’t you two dormitory roommates?
Victor: Yes, but that was last semester. Since this semester began, I haven’t really seen him much.
Victor: Regarding your question, the response would be more accurate if he answered it himself. Would you like me to summon him for you?
Teacher Hu: Hahaha, no need for that.
Teacher Hu: Those friends of yours who hang out with you should learn to take a page from your book and invest their time and energy in more meaningful pursuits.
Teacher Hu: Alright, you should head back now.
–
Following my parting with Teacher Hu, I walk in large strides toward the academic building— a melodious tune wafts through the campus, melding with the breeze.
I’m afraid “Master Hu,” asked that question, likely because Wu Xing’s results in the mock exam didn’t meet expectations.
Admittedly, I “did not disclose the information I knew” earlier, but to be fair, I indeed haven’t seen him around much at all, not only during this semester but throughout the entire summer vacation.
Rarely, when we finally managed to schedule a long-overdue soccer match during our free time from makeup classes, this guy who prioritizes his date before friendship flaked out on me.
Victor: [scoffing, BUT BAOBEI YOU’RE GONNA DO THE VERY SAME THING 10+ YEARS LATER 🤣]  How childish.
–
I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or one of those cases where “if your heart ponders something, there will be some sort of corresponding response,” but this “ex-roommate” of mine, whom I haven’t seen around much, shows up out of the blue right after taking his name, for the first time in ages.
Wu Xing: Sir Vic— VIC— TOR—
Tumblr media
A sneaky voice suddenly drifts from the classroom’s back door during the lunch break. Wu Xing cautiously waves his hand, approaching the unfamiliar classroom with a hint of nervousness.
Feeling a bit resigned, I walk over and offhandedly close the classroom door behind me.
Victor: Doesn’t your section have you guys work on test papers during lunch break?
Wu Xing: Does your section still have you guys work on test papers during lunch break?
Tumblr media
Our questions sound in unison, inexplicably making me laugh, but then I quickly refocus on the matter at hand.
Victor: You need me for something?
Wu Xing: For something big. Is Lao Zheng not around?
Victor: I haven’t seen him.
He asks as he peers into the classroom through the rear window a couple more times before finally speaking solemnly, as if it truly is something of utmost urgency.
Wu Xing: Well, let’s go then. Time is of the essence.
–
I could have never imagined that the “something big” he was talking about was actually buying snacks from the convenience store outside the school gate.
The aged iron gate, entwined with crawling vines, has a mottled appearance. Even though the lock is dangling loosely, it offers a firm barrier. The air carries a subtle scent of iron rust and the dampness common to the equipment room.
The hand clutching the paper money reaches through the gap between the railings, and when it is withdrawn, it holds an assortment of snacks in various packaging bags.
I hardly ever come to this place, and the handful of times I have been are all thanks to my dormitory roommates.
Victor: So, this is what you referred to as “something big?” I’m out of here.
Wu Xing: Ack, Sir Vic, don’t! Don’t roll the dice yet. The “iron rooster” is on patrol duty today. If he catches us, it’ll be bad news. At the very least, we’d probably have to sweep the playground for a whole month!
Victor: And you’re still going to “commit the crime in broad daylight?”
Wu Xing: [dramatically]  I have reasons for which I must take this risk.
Victor: …if it weren’t for your talking nonsense, everything would’ve already been bought.
As if finally remembering his purpose, Wu Xing briskly rushes toward the iron gate and calls out to the convenience store owner while cupping his throat.
On his way back, he is busy hiding two large packs of “Meow Meow Snow Cookies” in his school uniform jacket.
He nonchalantly tears open one of the packs while walking over, and then he stuffs two pieces of snow cookies into my hand without any explanation.
Victor: No need, keep them for yourself to snack on later.
Wu Xing: No, no, it’s all thanks to you that I could carry out this daunting mission smoothly. Thank you, my greatest ex-roommate, my former class monitor, my…
Victor: [sighs helplessly]  …shut up.
–
Not wanting to waste more time, I off-handedly stash the two snow cookies into my pocket and motion for him to hurry up. He continues walking alongside me, matching my strides, until we reach the academic building.
The grating noise created by the plastic rubbing against something makes me furrow my brows, and I can’t help but offer a warning.
Tumblr media
Victor: Your classroom is at that end of the corridor.
Wu Xing: I’ll go to section 3 first.
Victor: …
Wu Xing: LuLu didn’t do well in the mock exam. I think she cried. Her eyes were red when I saw her at the cafeteria during lunch.
Wu Xing: Although she hasn’t mentioned anything, I’m afraid she might think our relationship is interfering with…
Wu Xing: I don’t know how to make her happy; I can only think of buying her the Meow Meow Snow Cookies she loves. Bro, say, girls would usually feel happy when they eat something they like, right?
Victor: [softly]  …I think you might be the one who would be even happier.
—
[Tidbits]: kept the notes for last so as not to break the flow—
✦ uhh they have so many nicknames, ofc it’s expected and relatable LMAO, but GODS THEY ARE a PAIN TO TRANSLATE HHH. Victor addressed Teacher Hu as “胡师太” which I translated as “Master Hu.” In Chinese, it’s essentially another sarcastic play on the other nickname they have for their homeroom teacher, “Empress Dowager Hu,” the message behind which is self-explanatory LOL.
✦ “Prioritizing date before friendship” – the phrase here was 重色轻友, which in more causal English terms would be “hoes before bros,” haha.
✦ “Iron Rooster” – here, I did the literal translation of “铁公鸡” to retain the sarcastic effect. It in simpler terms refers to someone being a cheapskate or miserly.
✦ “Meow Meow snow cookies” (喵喵雪饼) – as the name suggests, they are similar to your usual snow cookies, only cat-shaped and much cuter LOL.
✦ Victor’s final line about you being happier than the person receiving the gift— yes, as you might’ve already presumed, it’s the 2nd reference to MC in this story, and also a theme that runs through Victor’s contents pretty often— when they’re happy because of you, the cheery smile on the person’s face apparently brings you more joy than the person themselves.

【Chapter 3】
Tumblr media
Xiao Luo: Victor, how about we play some soccer later? Maybe you could show some of your footwork to the team?
Despite seeing the expectant look on his face, I still shake my head.
Victor: Sorry, but today won’t be possible. I can return to the dorm on Sunday morning and have the entire time afterward for practicing.
Victor: I’ll compile the fundamental tactics and rules later tonight and send them to you on QQ. As for my footwork… I’m an amateur, so the most I can do is share some of my experiences during the actual training session.
Xiao Luo: Sure thing! Just give me a knock tonight!
–
As I walk out of the school gate, the last rays of the setting sun cast a soft, crimson halo over the bustling streets.
The charm of Friday lies precisely in this, rendering even the usually ordinary sunset into something particularly romantic.
Soon, the No. 923 bus arrives, and after the crowd has boarded, I stand close to the handrail and shift my backpack to the front.
The bus isn’t overly crowded at this hour, which makes it easier to fetch one’s belongings without causing any inconvenience to other passengers.
–
Tumblr media
With this thought in mind, I grip the handrail with one hand while my other hand reaches into the front compartment of my schoolbag to retrieve the vocabulary notebook. With my fingertips, I flip through the pages one by one.
A few points I lost this time were in vocabulary and grammar. It looks like I need to consolidate my understanding of these error-prone areas much more.
I concentrate on each letter in the notebook, quietly repeating every word three times in my mind before turning to the next page.
For a moment, the clamors surrounding me seem to grow muffled. I feel as if I’m isolated in a space of my own, able to hear only the voice of my mind crystal clear.
Even the passage of time seems to slow down.
The window’s shadow on the edge of my vision is rendered a hazy tint, slowly receding, but it also sharpens the clarity of the words in front of me.
Although these words aren’t my first language, as long as I grasp the arteries and veins that connect the word roots and affixes, the rest is simply a process of putting them together and restructuring them.
The patterns that dictate how the world operates also follow this principle.
Firstly, one needs to understand the distinct characteristics of different things, then find their respective gaps–– and finally connect them, akin to joining mortise and tenon.
This way, the correct answer is plainly evident.
The sky outside the window has gradually begun to darken. I weave through the crowd to the back of the vehicle and take a quick look at my wristwatch.
The hour hand ticks down one notch, and the time is about the same as what I had in mind. I should still be able to make it to Dawn Market before it closes for the day even if I hit traffic.
Auntie Zhang usually doesn’t close her stall this early. I’m just not sure if I’ll be able to get any of the fruits Dad loves.
I subconsciously look at the condition of the road ahead, feeling a slight hint of impatience creeping in.
Victor: Yes, I can still make it in time.
–
Tumblr media
By the time I arrive home, it’s slightly past 7 o’clock.
Swiftly, I put down my schoolbag and change my clothes. I then step into the kitchen, don an apron, put the clams in a bowl to let them soak, and simultaneously begin cleaning the scallops.
Just as I’m serving the garlic-steamed scallops on the table, I hear the door lock turning in the porch.
Victor: Dad, you’re back.
Papa Li: The flight got delayed, so it took longer than expected. Ah, you must be starving, aren’t you?
Victor: I’m fine. You go and take a rest for a while. I’ll call you when the meal is ready.
After saying this, I wipe my hands dry and pick up his suitcase propped against the doorway, placing it in the study. When I return to the living room, my father has already rolled up his sleeves and is standing by the dining table.
Papa Li: I was wondering why the entire house was filled with the aroma of food as soon as I walked in the door. It turns out that our master chef has once again prepared a grand feast.
Victor: It’s not that over-the-top, just regular home-cooked dishes, that’s all.  Victor: But I do have the clam stew and garlic butter scallops that you love.
Papa Li: Well, it sounds like I must be in for a treat.
Papa Li: What are you still stir-frying in your pan? Here, let Dad exhibit some tricks for you.
My father seems to be in a good mood. It’s probably because the work on his business trip has been exceptionally successful. Although doing things myself would be more efficient, I naturally can’t dampen his spirits.
Tumblr media
I smile and lend him a hand.
Papa Li: How’s school been going recently? Are you settling into your new class well?
Victor: It’s going pretty well. We got our mock exam scores and class rankings today, and overall, they’re within the range I expected, except for some mistakes I made in English.
Victor: I’ll show you my report card after we’re done with dinner.
Papa Li: I’ve always been confident in your academic performance. What about things outside your studies? Have you been busy with student council duties recently?
Victor: Hm, we are gearing up to organize the Autumn Sports Festival soon, and lately, I’ve been exploring potential sponsors among educational organizations and bookstores that have shown interest.
Seeing that he hasn’t shifted his gaze, I contemplate for a moment and add.
Victor: In my free time, I’ll be playing soccer with the others. I’ve signed up for the soccer tournament in the sports festival.
Sure enough, my father appears visibly happier upon hearing this and even teases me a little.
Papa Li: Such opportunities don’t come by often, so you’ve to make sure to give it your best! But son, you haven’t played as much soccer as you used to since you’ve grown up. Are you sure your skills are still sharp?
Victor: How about personally inspecting my skills tomorrow morning?
Papa Li: Hahaha, are you “throwing down the gauntlet” to me? Alright, alright, no problem, let’s have a friendly showdown.
Before we know it, the family dinner wraps up amidst an atmosphere steeped in laughter, something we haven’t done in a long time.
It’s almost ten o’clock by the time I finish my homework, and I notice that the light in my father’s study is still on. After hesitating for a moment, I go back to my room, pick up the notebook from my desk, and knock on the door of his study.
–
Papa Li: Vic? Why are you still up?
Victor: I’ve got a few questions that I’m having a bit of trouble understanding.
I flip my notebook to the most recent page and place it in front of my father, briefly giving him a summary of the few stocks that I’ve been researching these days.
My father comprehends the situation and begins circling things in the notebook, gradually clarifying the puzzles that have been plaguing my mind.
Seeing that I haven’t said anything in a while, my father gently taps on the table with his pen.
Papa Li: Is there a part you didn’t understand?
Tumblr media
Victor: No, it’s not that. I’m just glad that I’m in a simulated investment scenario where there’s room for trial and error.
Papa Li: Real business transactions can also withstand trial and error. Son, there’s no one or no circumstance that can bring overnight success.
I understand what my father is saying, but it’s precisely because I understand these principles that my resolve to achieve my goals becomes even more steadfast.
It’s also because I have experienced that feeling of powerlessness, where I was helpless to find a way out, that my conviction has been more solidified— I must advance at a faster pace.
Victor: I’ve got it. Thanks, Dad. You should get an early night.
Papa Li: But judging by your achievements of the past few years…
As if he has suddenly remembered something, my father takes out a somewhat aged notebook from a drawer.
Inside the notebook, there are meticulous records of the maintenance cost I’ve earned every year for Vic Vic through simulated investments, starting from my junior high school days.
Papa Li: It looks like you’ll get there earlier than you had planned.
Victor: My goal is to round off the remaining amount in the next three years.
Victor: I was quite conservative in my calculations back then, but now I’m confident.
–
Tumblr media
In the blink of an eye, the preparation phase for the Autumn Sports Festival is in full swing. Adhering to the “first-come, first-served” principle, there’s a constant rush of people in the venues and equipment storage areas.
It appears that this enthusiasm has got the entire school’s faculty and students immersed, as evident in the ongoing internal meeting of the student council.
I close the proposal document in front of me and turn my gaze to the head of the sports department who has been talking confidently since the beginning of the meeting, putting forth all kinds of budget-busting ideas.
If memory serves, he only joined the student council this year. While it’s understandable to have such drive when taking on a major responsibility as this for the first time, it’s not surprising that his ideas are so impractical.
Victor: We are organizing a sports event for the school, not the Loveland City Youth Sports Meet.
Victor: Before asking me if I can secure such a large budget, shouldn’t we first consider the already existing conditions?
Victor: Even if we manage to lock in sponsorships smoothly, I’m afraid we don’t have sufficient space and workforce to sustain it.
Head of Sports Department: But I’ve discussed this issue with Xiao Sun from your External Affairs Department beforehand, and the proposal he’s handed in today is actually twice as substantial as what he initially suggested.
Victor: That’s the very reason why having this meeting today was essential, isn’t it?
Victor: To prevent the possibility of others misinterpreting due to the spread of incomplete information inappropriately.
The other party doesn’t seem to have anticipated that I would respond this way, rendering him silent for a moment before he speaks again.
Head of Sports Department: Doesn’t the External Affairs Department need to hold another meeting to discuss this? Or is Student Council President Victor implying that we don’t have any room for further discussion?
Victor: First and foremost, whether the External Affairs Department needs to deliberate on the conclusions drawn from today’s general meeting, I will make that assessment.
Victor: Secondly, “we” are not the ones who get to negotiate this. Because this matter has never been about any of us individually, from the outset to the conclusion.
Head of Sports Department: [sarcastic laugh]  Heh, I’ve heard rumors that the External Affairs Department is managed by an autocratic approach, and today I finally got the chance to witness it first-hand.
…I can hardly believe someone would make such an elementary-school-student-style remark in this situation.
Victor: If labeling me with a derogatory term as “autocratic” can make things seem more reasonable, then I don’t find any objection to your remark.
Head of Sports Department: …
Victor: I apologize for taking up everyone’s time. The Executive Committee and the Secretariat, please inform me as soon as you have made your decisions, and I will make further improvements to the proposal.
Tumblr media
After finishing my words, I pick up the folder and turn around to exit the conference room.
—
[Tidbits]:
✦ regarding the “arteries and veins” (脉络) and “mortise and tenon” (榫卯) parts— I decided to do their literal translations despite initially going for metaphorical terms, to show you guys the way Li Zeyan writers think + how they wanted you to grasp just how immersed he was and how passionate he is in general about learning that he is subconsciously relating things like this.
✦ Dawn Market and Auntie Zhang are references to his S2 Company Project, where we met this old lady and learned the precious story of how Victor would visit the market with his dad when he was a kid. I don’t remember her name on the EN server LOL, so used the original one as it was.
✦ The stock research, simulated investment, and paying for Vic Vic’s (the panda Yan Yan) upkeep fees – these are all references to Victor’s 4th birthday story, where after learning that the panda’s adoption fee had to be paid on yearly installments, 15-year-old Victor decided to put his knowledge about simulated investment to action and use the profits from investments to pay the panda’s upkeep fees. And sure enough, his investments were successful, and at the time he had told his dad that he’d be able to pay his dad all the adoption fees back over the years by the time he was 25. But as we saw in this story, in 2nd year of his senior high school, he had cut that time down to only 3 years, and he did not need those years in full either~ :’)
✦ And as for using the “Papa Li” term of address instead of “Victor’s Dad”–– it was a force of habit LOL + I wanted to retain the personalized feelings here haha (,,>ࡇ<,,)

【Chapter 4】
Tumblr media
As the other person reiterates his “refusal” attitude once again, I take a deep breath and reach out to loosen my tie.
The sunlight at high noon is somewhat glaring. After stuffing the proposal into my backpack, I walk mechanically towards the subway station.
I still have more than enough time before the cram classes, and this morning has gone well as I successfully negotiated for most of the sponsorship according to the plan.
Apart from…
I can’t help but sigh, kneading my throbbing forehead.
Perhaps because it’s the weekend, as I pass by the park, I hear the animated sounds of laughter and cheerful voices.
It’s as if I’ve caught the contagious effect of that simple joy, I subconsciously change my path and sit down on a bench nearby.
All of a sudden, I loosen up a tad and my mind involuntarily begins thinking back to the wall I’ve hit just earlier.
—
───── [FLASHBACK BEGINS] ─────
Victor: Mr. Yu, the significance school sports day holds in high school activities is quite evident, whether in terms of its overall scale or the level of importance placed on it by both teachers and students.
Victor: And with the level of publicity in an event such as this, it’s without a doubt that it can boost your campus market share, while simultaneously deepening the profile of your company.
Victor: In my opinion, this collaborative effort is one that demands minimal investment but yields rapid returns.
Victor: Please take a look at our proposal, and if you have any questions, we can discuss them right away.
The man in the impeccably dressed suit and shoes in front of me remains completely silent, waiting patiently until I finish speaking. Then he sits up straight on the couch, courteously accepts the folder from me, and places it directly onto the table.
Mr. Yu: Your arguments are very sound, but there’s no need for us to invest in the school.
Victor: Do you have any concerns, or are there any aspects of the proposal that you currently find unsatisfactory?
Mr. Yu: Hahaha, Victor, you seem to have missed the point of what I meant.
Mr. Yu: As a matter of fact, your proposal is already very well-rounded. To be honest with you, among all the proposals I always receive, many from adults don’t even measure up to yours.
Mr. Yu: But you must know that what you’re confronting are people, not only proposals.
Mr. Yu: There’s nothing wrong with being considerate of all aspects, but people are incoercible, let alone businessmen who always prioritize their interests above all else.
───── [FLASHBACK ENDS] ─────
—
Suddenly, something lightly bumps against my feet, snapping me back to reality.
It’s a soccer ball.
??: Sorry——
Tumblr media
An unfamiliar voice sounds not far away, and upon lifting my head, I see a group of young boys waving at me, dripping with sweat. I knowingly rise to my feet and lift my leg to kick the ball back to them.
The ball is passed with perfect accuracy to the feet of a young boy not too far away.
??: Thanks, buddy!
Tumblr media
Sunlight filters down the gaps between the branches and leaves. I incline my head to gaze at the dappled light spots it creates.
On this day, I’ve come to understand that many things don’t yield results based on the perfection achieved by one individual; there are numerous external factors at play.
And that, one should always be prepared and have a well-rounded plan in place for everything.
–
The highly anticipated Autumn Sports Festival has lifted its curtains on a bright and beautiful morning.
With the piercing sound of the whistle, the friendly soccer match is down to its final five minutes.
Under the scorching sun, the grass field sizzles beneath our feet, and the striking 0:1 on the scoreboard has got everyone in the Section 1 team with their hearts hanging in midair.
Tumblr media
However, as if the situation is not already bad enough, more troubles keep coming one after another. Not only are we behind in the score, but our goalkeeper has also been red-carded and sent off the field due to a mistake while charging out.
My gaze shifts from the glaring red card to the referee’s finger–– pointing at the 12-yard mark.
??: You’ve got to be kidding me! A penalty kick at this moment–– they’re giving us the full “red-card” combo! This is ridiculous! Can’t we protest this?
??: Come on, move along. The match is over.
??: It’s really a pity for the Section 1 team. The two teams were neck and neck for so long, and I thought a miracle might really happen.
??: You’re overthinking it. It’s already a miracle that they managed to persist until now. Among those students of Section 9, six of them are sports prodigies, you know.
The ceaseless buzz of murmurs and discussions lingers around me from all directions. Fine beads of sweat cling to my neck in disarray, and I wipe them away in irritation, my toes finding themselves stomping on the ground several times.
The current situation is indeed far from optimistic.
If we bring in a forward as a substitute for the goalkeeper, the odds of winning the game will be completely against us.
Given that nothing can be done about the 10 vs. 11 situation we’re already in, what can we possibly do to level the score?
My brain spins at a lightning pace, and suddenly, a somewhat bold idea springs to mind.
With almost not the slightest hesitation, I raise my hand to draw the referee’s attention, requesting a substitution.
Xiao Luo: ...but you hardly ever took on the role of a goalkeeper in the practice matches we had before, and now to substitute as...
Victor: The key is not just to defend the goalpost.
I interrupt the sports committee representative and earnestly shift my gaze to the coach and the team members on the field.
Victor: Being a midfielder, if I take on the role of the goalkeeper, to some extent, it will create a similar sense of skepticism in the opposing team.
Victor: Now, at this point in the game, it essentially boils down to a competition of stamina.
While speaking, I turn my gaze to the substitutes who are about to replace the wingers on both sides.
Substitute teammate: But doesn’t that mean we’re giving up control of the midfield by doing this?
Victor: You’re right. But without taking risks, there will be no reward.
Victor: My strategy is not something I can accomplish relying on my abilities alone. I need the trust and cooperation of every single one of you.
Victor: I will surely block the penalty kick.
After putting on the protective gloves, I clap my palms together vigorously twice, and in my peripheral vision, I can see the penalty taker also walking to the designated spot.
Tumblr media
Drawing a deep breath, I walk to the side of the goalpost, slightly arch my body, and then fix my gaze straight ahead. Inadvertently, I raise my hand and gesture towards the completely unguarded opposite side.
For a moment, it feels as if all the eyes in the entire arena have turned towards me, causing me to fall into a trance and giving me the sensation as though I can hear the sound of time ticking away.
Another whistle blows.
The opponent clearly hesitates for a moment, as if trying to decipher whether my action is intended as a provocation, or it has some other meaning.
But all of that is unimportant at this moment.
He had already lost right at the second he hesitated and did not take a decisive shot.
And that second was all I needed.
──
Xiao Luo: Victor! You’re really something! I can’t believe that pulling off such an unconventional strategy secured us a narrow victory!
Victor: It was merely a draw, nothing more.
Teammate: Well, that still counts as a victory in our book! Let’s go to Lao Beimen’s street stall; I’m treating everyone to soda, ice-cream, and grilled sausages! Victor, you coming with us?
Victor: Sure, let’s go.
Xiao Luo and Teammates: YES!
Tumblr media
Watching my fellow teammates, who have shared the sweat and toil, beam with expressions of elation as if they have scored a goal, I find myself smiling along with them.
The afternoon heat is yet to subside, and pedestrians are seeking shelter beneath the shade of the trees as they move forward. Only we continue to walk under the sunlight, chatting and laughing among ourselves as we walk down the footbridge.
The lady working at the newspaper stand places the newly arrived comics in a prominent spot, then sits down in the shaded area, fanning herself with a palm-leaf fan;
The bright and youthful college students walk hand in hand, their phone charms clinking together, producing a crisp sound;
Clad in their uniform, the junior high schoolers sport headphones as they wait for the bus to arrive. Who knows what they’re listening to, whether it’s some English listening exercise or popular music;
The fine beads of sweat glisten with a radiant glow between the young boy’s hairline, while his red sportswear is eye-catching and vibrant, epitomizing the most splendid appearance one can have at his age.
Tumblr media
I tighten the cords of my drawstring bag a little and skillfully keep the ball bouncing on my toes, maneuvering around a few bicycles on the lane without any people, and then use a bit of force to toss the ball in the air.
The attempt to catch the ball with my knee isn’t executed perfectly, and the ball slightly slips out of control.
I jog a couple of steps to catch up, throw the ball again, and catch it once more— and like this, I indulge in this self-amusing routine tirelessly.
A light sheen of sweat lightly dampens the ends of my hair. I fling my head back a little and quicken my stride, allowing the gentle breeze to whisk away the residual heat.
Even though it’s merely a school-level sports event, triumph always feels great, especially when your own efforts are so clearly visible.
There are still two more intersections to go before we reach Lao Beimen’s stall. As I watch the several spiritedly hopping figures ahead of me, I decide to bring my own little celebration to an end.
After all, this was merely a school-level soccer match; I couldn’t let satisfaction be so readily apparent on my face.
The soccer ball bounces and produces a firm sound, while the fluttering clothes closely trails its trajectory.
It’s only the sunshine that knows the young boy has been unknowingly sporting a smile at the corners of his lips, unmistakably revealing a look of satisfaction.

okay some things. tim choosing to call buck and eddie dynamic a coupling is a choice. also friendship is a core of that coupling, that's literally not platonic. it's saying friendship is the core of them, even when they get together. but beside the point tim singles out that he's had a lot of fun writing the buck and eddie dynamic this season. why just buck and eddie and we know tim wrote episode 6 which i'm starting to honestly think something happens between buck and eddie at the bachelor party and that causes a shit ton of angst because when tim means fun he means pain for us. oh also that article screams eddie breaks up with marisol in episode 5.
Like, sure, there's some plausible deniability to the word "coupling" but all of it in context with each other just makes it feel odd, ya know? But the articles aside, it's the amalgamation of things that feels like something's shifted.
I'm just firmly on the train that something is deepening with Buck and Eddie this season, whether that be their bond as co-parents, or shifting their dynamic to finally explore how they might be romantically. I swear to GOD, if there's even a hint that Buck is into Tommy, or literally anything about Bi Buck this season, I'm slamming that "Buddie will be canon and I can't be convinced otherwise!" button.
Friendship will always be the core of their relationship. I was just talking to my friend Zee @tawaifeddiediaz the other day, and I told her about a video essay I was listening to about eros (romantic/sexual love) and how eros is what sustains most romantic stories and basically that eros = the chase or the build-up to a potential romantic coupling 😉. That eros inherently ends when the relationship is consummated (ie they get together and are at a relationship equilibrium) and that just makes me think about the concept of people suddenly not caring about a ship once they get together (also known in fandoms as "moonlighting". I think with those ships it's usually due to over-reliance on eros or romantic chase tension so then when it's gone the relationship isn't interesting anymore.
This is all to say that the buddie relationship has not been built on eros. It's been built on platonic, familial, friendship, and commitment-based love all before it ever gets to the sexual/romantic love. And so, to me, as a firm buddie-truther, that's why when they actually get to that phase where they do explore the romantic/sexual aspect of their relationship, Buddie won't lose momentum or become boring or have people lose interest, it most likely will end up being more interesting/complex and beloved ship.
If ANYTHING happens between Buck and Eddie at the bachelor party or at the wedding, I'm once again slamming that "BUDDIE IS HAPPENING and I can't be convinced otherwise!" button. Because come on? You can't expect to give them tension at wedding-adjacent things (that are literally all about reinforcing ROMANTIC bonds) and not expect me to see that as the writers confirming Buddie will end up in the same spot eventually.
And about episode 5...once again, I am an Eddie/Hardware-Store-Flirtation Marisol break up at the end of episode 5 truther. I will not be convinced otherwise unless I see the episode myself or if the actors post about filming more past that. Either way, Hardware-Store-Fliration Marisol isn't and could never be Mr. Edmundo Diaz's endgame and I'm not even a little bit worried about her.

Hyuga Clan Taijutsu is underrated & OP
Tumblr media
There are many interesting concepts which they didn't show or didn't show enough
( Sometimes I wish that we didn’t have so much focus on the Uchiha Clan)
Analysis
can ignore durability thanks to its ability to directly attack the opponents chakra system. ch 79
Tumblr media
Gentle fist nullifying other Jutsus: nullify any ninjutsu by splitting apart its chakra. Hyuga clan are “Anti Chakra” fighters. Any chakra-based ninjutsu is rendered useless by a Hyuga . (Chapter 192-193)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
( chapter 257-258)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also...
Controlling/manipulate the opponents chakra flow however you wish is OP but was only used in a filler (Not canon)(Episode 191). The filler was cool.Hinata made a magnet release user bury himself alive with iron sand by hitting like 1 or 2 chakra points and started to change his chakra flow.Chapter 78-80
Tumblr media
Air Palm(s)  (chapter 257) Basically, the technique is similar to rotation but it has a specific target. Invisible to the naked eye
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Talking about the Hyuga clan’s abilities, they always only mention the close combat gentle fist taijutsu. When confirmed the clan currently has two or more  mid-long ranged abilities: Air palm, Wall Palm etc.
Gentle fist in a supporting use Hinata fixing Naruto’s shoulder chapter 617 ( would have been cool to see a hyuga medic, but please not from Hinata her gen already has two healers.)
Tumblr media
Gentle Fist Art One Blow Body
similiar Almighty Push, it can be used as an offence or defence. If a Hyuga member is in a lock, they could easily blast their way through it while simultaneously damaging their opponent's vital points. If a Hyuga member is tied, they can free themselves
Tumblr media
Twin Lion Fists
wish we saw more of this jutsu in use to it’s full potential ( considering how op it is). How it would actually work in combat when draining chakra. since Hinata uses it with 64 palms, she could (hypotically) also use it with air palm like in the video game verison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One-shot techniques (higher level than 64 palms)
All they have to do is create a “lock-on” with their Byakugan and target the chakra pool of their opponent directly. It knocks out, kills, and negates durability. We seen Hinata ,Neji their fathers & Himawari do this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Extra: Studio Pierrot has a weird thing for making Hinata faint (NO she wasn’t pregnant). When in the novel, she didn’t faint at all, this is what happened in the novel  (Sasuke Shinden pg 50)
Tumblr media
This my problem when SP adapting a novel or manga they basically butcher important moments. I’ve seen them do it with other series and it doesn’t workout well in the long run
Bleach, Tokyo ghoul could be more if I look deeper
the link for the safe free site since it’s a archive of most naruto manga novels
https://archive.org/details/manga_Naruto_Shinden/Naruto%20Shinden%20-%20Volume%2003%20-%20Sasuke%20Shinden%20-%20Book%20of%20Sunrise%20%5BVIZ%5D%5BCalibreV1DPC%5D/page/n49/mode/2up
Also, I can understand why people don’t consider light novels cannon unless the creator actually said they helped with the novel and stated it cannon. Instead of slapping their name on it, then doing commission art for the cover. But that’s for another disscusion
Any other underrated Hyuga techniques that needs more shine?
edit 2: I saw someone in the replies say that, Rotation is underrated,to me not really Neji & Hiashi spammed the hell out of it lol. I do feel like other hyuga should have used it more beside the two.

Connections Between Novel and Current Milgram
Alright, it's theory time. While it's not confirmed yet, after Kotoko's music video, I am certainly sure that the two novels and our current Milgram are connected. Because their motives fit so well? Maybe some of you know about our "snails theory," right? If not or if you've forgotten about it, please take a look at it too! [in our twitter under the same name] (I must say that some parts of the theory (e.g the voices part) are wrong, but it is a theory after all.) To summarize, we think Haruka, Muu, Shidou, Amane, and Mikoto's beliefs and mindsets come from the first novel, and Yuno, Fuuta, Mahiru, Kazui, and Kotoko's mindsets and their thoughts resemble the second novel. First of all, please do not forget that we are not connecting crimes. Maybe you can see similarities but I, too, believe crimes and storyline different(not completely because of Touchi) from our current trials. This theory is only about mindsets. Well, let's start with 1st novel characters.
Our first prisoner, Gentle. He is a very emotional man to me. And killing a man, who is about to kill a woman. Of course this is pure coincidence but the thought of killing one life to save the others is bugging me. Because of this, I feel like there is a parallel between Gentle and Shidou.
Nervous. Her anxiety of being useless and a failure is similar to Muu actually. Another point that these two have in common is wanting to be appreciated. This desire for acknowledgment adds a psychological layer, suggesting how much external validation influences their thoughts and actions.
Considering that Close and Gentle are siblings, you might think I've lost my mind for what I'm about to say next, but yes, I believe Close and Amane have similar thought patterns. Let's look at the events this way: Close is someone who would do anything and everything to get the person she loves. However, after all the events, she no longer fears suffering. In fact, she wanted to experience pain and didn't seek help. This reminds me a lot of Amane. Maybe in the future, I'll prepare a separate theory for Amane, but I always felt that in that famous electric shock scene, Amane was afraid of pain, so it seemed like she was trying to comply with the rules. However, after her father's death, and of course, when she came to Milgram, she tried not to fear pain and even attempted to surpass the help she received.
The next prisoner, in my opinion, is probably the easiest to connect among all the characters: Two-Face. Initially, I had wondered besides the name, what similarities there could be with Mikoto, but then I realized I had overlooked the most important thing. Both of them were unaware of the consequences of their actions. As you know, Mikoto was completely oblivious to everything. On the other hand, Two-Face genuinely didn't know that what he was attempting could lead to an actual murder.
Our last character from the first novel is Torch. Firstly, when we saw less of Torch's story and mindset compared to the second novel, I couldn't liken him to anyone. However, later, with the release of the second novel, I understood that the reason Torch's (or Touchi's) life was saved was Milgram. Through Milgram, he found the love he had been seeking for a long time, thanks to Sumi. When I look at this child who has no one in his life, I see Haruka. Both are individuals without anyone and in need of love. Additionally, Milgram, who saved Touchi, also saved the first trial Haruka. The lack of self-confidence he had when he first arrived was overcome thanks to Milgram.
Our first prisoner in the second novel: Tatsumi. I might exceed my thread limit before finishing listing the commonalities with Fuuta. First, let's talk about how both perceive their crimes as a symbol of justice. For those who haven't read it, I'll give a brief overview of the common theme in the second novel: all the characters' crimes are based on a kind of murder trend called "justifiable righteous murder." When Touchi asks him what justice means, Tatsumi responds, "Justice is a social media hashtag." Most likely, you've already understood where I'm going with this: both share similar thoughts about the concept of justice. Another shared aspect is that both constantly question the concept of justice they possess.
Rina and Mei, since they share the same trial, I'll continue without separating them. In my previous theory, I talked about how Yuno and Mahiru are opposites of each other, yet still closely connected. The same holds true for Rina and Mei; they are almost opposites, but their attitudes towards all these events are still the same. It's similar to Yuno and Mahiru; Yuno has a very cold personality while Mahiru is the opposite. However, when it comes to Milgram and its rules, both pairs' thoughts align remarkably.
Alright, this was the person I found the most challenging to connect among all the prisoners: Tomonari. Because, honestly, when I first looked at him, nothing came to mind except the word "psychopath." However, if you look at Tomonari's actions, despite all the darkness within, he never tried to kill anyone until the very end, somewhat keeping his "true personality" hidden. You might get upset with me, I know, but I associate him with Kazui. As I mentioned, this theory is not about the crimes they committed. Kazui, too, chose to lie and conceal his true self until the very end of his life. In my view, they are similar because of these choices they made.
Finally, the last prisoner, Mako. First, I can't go without mentioning that, in Kotoko's MV, I saw Kotoko closely following the "Justifiable Righteous Murder" trend created by Mako (even looking at the news of Tatsumi's murder). Both of the characters are individuals willing to kill for the goals they have set in their minds. Additionally, both characters closely follow the workings of Milgram and manipulate it in line with their own interests.

part 2 - staying alive
part 3 - night fever
 .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Every weekend is a blessing for any High School Senior. No school work, no lectures, and no early morning alarms. This thought was enough to motivate you as you start your Saturday morning, and a peaceful breakfast with your father is just the most pleasant way to do so.
That was until he turned the television on.
And we’ll start the news with another mysterious death in the small town of Hawkins.
You could faintly hear the television in the living room as you were washing the dishes, the sound of rushing water blocking the reporter’s voice.
“Y/n! Look at this.” Your father called from the sofa, and you quickly wiped your hands dry and saw him pointing at the screen with wide eyes.
We’re in the Forest Hills trailer park in east Roane County. We don’t have a lot of details now, but we can confirm that the body of a Hawkins High student was discovered early this morning. Police have not yet released the victim’s name although we are told that they’re currently in the process of notifying the family.
You heard your father sigh, briefly lowering the volume of the television as he shook his head. “I’m starting to rethink why I chose this place to move in.” He mumbled.
It was four years ago when you and your father moved to Hawkins to restart your lives after the death of your mother. Everything was normal at first, but as each year passed and you got more entangled with a group of kids who seem to have ‘fighting with the supernaturals’ as part of their lifestyles, you have accepted the fact that Hawkins is far from normal.
You went back to the kitchen and resumed washing the dishes, thoughts still preoccupied about whoever was found at that trailer. Immediately after, you quickly put on a clean sweater and jeans before heading downstairs to grab your car keys.
“Woah, woah, where are you going?” Your father asked from his seat, confusion and a hint of concern in his eyes.
“I’m going to visit my friends at Family Video.” You shot him a small smile.
“Alright, but don’t take too long. And be sure to call me.” He said, warily dismissing you.
You nodded and began to start your car, fingers tapping the steering wheel as you drove to Family Video while listening to More Than A Woman. The ten-minute drive to the store passed by slowly, as you couldn’t wait to talk to your friends about what had happened.
You first met the kids a week after you moved to Hawkins. It was inevitable when the house that you and your father live in is just beside Dustin’s house. You would often see the boys take turns going to each other’s houses, sometimes with Max, El, and even Steve. Still, like Robin, you were only in action with the group once. And that was when they needed an extra hand against the Mind Flayer at the Starcourt Mall.
Arriving at the store, Robin was the first to notice you when you entered, a smile automatically appearing on her face as she walked from the ‘New Release’ section to where you are standing.
“Y/n!,” She said, which caught Steve’s attention and he immediately went towards you and Robin. You instantly felt brighter as soon as you made eye contact with the boy, almost forgetting about the recent issue in your town. “Have you heard? Someone was murdered.”
“Yeah.” You replied slowly, eyes flickering to the store’s television where the reporter is still ongoing with interviewing people. “Have they released any names yet?”
Steve shook his head sideways. “No, I doubt they will do that anytime soon.”
====================
Spending hours at Family Video is not new to you, and either to Steve or Robin. They’re grateful to have you as a company, your talking and laughing made their shifts faster and more tolerable according to Robin. But seeing you being awfully quiet, your brows pushed towards each other as you listen to the news, is not a sight that they are used to.
“Hey,” Steve said to you as you’re leaning on the front desk beside Robin. “You alright?”
You sighed. “This is weird.”
“Weird?”
“I mean, this murder. It just happened out of nowhere. And towards a student?” You wondered aloud, “This is unusual, Steve. Even for Hawkins.”
Almost immediately after saying that, you three were surprised to see Max and Dustin barging in.
“Hey. Steve.” Dustin greeted him, slightly panting.
“You see this?” Steve pointed at the television.
“How many phones do you have?”
“Someone was murd—”
“How many phones do you have?” Dustin repeated, his voice louder.
“Uh, two. Why?” Steve looked at you and Robin in confusion.
“Technically, three if you count Keith’s in the back.” Robin followed.
“Yeah, three works.” Max hurriedly said to Dustin, who slid his backpack on top of the counter and landed towards where Robin and you were seated.
“What are you—! My pile!” Steve panicked. “No, no, no! My tapes! Dude.”
Still having no idea what was going on, you quietly stood behind Max and Dustin as they continued to type on the computer while Steve and Robin muttered annoyingly under their breath.
Fed up with all the noise and questions, Dustin turned to Max “Can you just fill them in while I do this.”
“Fill us in on what?” You spoke for the first time since the arrival of the two.
Max took a deep breath before starting to explain everything.
====================
You didn’t know what exactly made your head hurt; maybe it was because of Max’s statements, the sleepless nights you’ve been having lately, or both. Your mind is still processing every piece of information that has been added to your knowledge regarding this case.
While your friends are busy looking for wherever Eddie’s drug dealer “Reefer Rick” may be, you excused yourself to the bathroom, earning a concerned expression from Steve which you quickly shrugged off with a smile.
You stood in front of the mirror, hands tightly gripping the sink and wincing slightly as another surge of headaches hit you. You had purposely hidden from your friends, not wanting any more questions.
A knock on the door made you look up from the sink. You must’ve spent a while in the bathroom. You quickly took a deep breath and checked your appearance, making sure that there is no trace of any discomfort on your face.
As soon as you opened the door, you saw Steve standing in front of you.
“We found him.” He said with a smile.
“Where is he?” You asked as you swiftly closed the door behind you, rushing to where your other three friends were cleaning up.
“2121 Holland Road, by the Lover’s Lake,” Dustin said triumphantly as he fixed his backpack.
“Come, I’ll start the car.” Steve began getting out of his work vest and changed into his usual jacket.
“Alright, I’ll be there in a minute.” You said, going over to the telephone to call your father and make up an excuse by saying you’ll be staying over at Robin’s for the weekend.
====================
As Max, Dustin, and Robin take turns informing Eddie of everything that you guys have found so far, you knew that the hope of having a peaceful weekend was thrown out of the window. Your headache only worsened after spending another sleepless night. Only this time, it isn’t because of a nightmare, but because you needed to go out and buy Eddie some supplies.
“Hunt the freak, right?” Eddie upsettingly said, fingers tightening around the box of popcorn that he was holding.
“Exactly.” Robin replied, earning a whispered “shit” from Eddie.
“So before that happens, we have to find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence.” Dustin butted in.
“That’s all Dustin? That’s all?”
“Yeah, that’s pretty much it.”
Shaking her head, Robin stopped the exchange between the two. “Listen, Eddie, I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional, but we’ve actually been through this kind of thing before. I mean, they have a… a few times, and Y/n and I have once.”
“Ours was more human-fleshed based, theirs was more smoke-related. But collectively, I think we got this.” You continued after her.
Steve nodded beside you. “Yeah, we usually rely on this girl who has super powers but, uh, those went bye-bye…”
“So, we’re technically in more of the…”
“Brainstorming phase.” Max finished for all of you as Steve and Dustin went on to assure Eddie that there’s nothing to worry about.
The sound of sirens caught all of your attention a few moments after. Eddie rushed to cover himself with a tarpaulin while the rest of you went towards the window, looking at a few passing police cars and an ambulance.
“I guess we know where we’re going next,” Dustin stated.
====================
“So you’re saying that this thing that killed Fred and Chrissy… it’s from the Upside Down?” Nancy questioned as all of you are seated on a picnic bench near Eddie’s trailer.
“Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse. Now, whether or not he’s doing the bidding of the Mind Flayer or just loves killing teens, we don’t know.” Dustin explained.
“All we know is that this is something different. Something new.” You spoke.
“Doesn’t make sense,” Nancy muttered.
“It’s just a theory,” Dustin said.
Nancy shook her head. “No, Fred and Chrissy don't make sense. I mean, why them?”
“Maybe they were just in the wrong place. They were both at the game.”
“And near the trailer park,” Max suggested.
“We’re at the trailer park…” Steve said. “Uh, should we maybe not be here?”
“There is something about this place.” Nancy agreed. “Fred started acting weird the second we got here. He was scared, on edge, upset.”
Dustin immediately picked up. “Max said Chrissy was upset too.”
Max sighed. “Yeah, but not here. She was crying in the bathroom at school.”
“Serial killers stalk their prey before they strike, right? So, maybe Fred and Chrissy saw this Vecman—”
“Vecna.” Dustin corrected Robin.
“I don’t know about you guys, but if I saw some freaky wizard monster, I would mention it to someone.” Steve looked around at the table, confusion written on his face.
“Maybe they did.” All eyes went to Max as she spoke. “I saw Chrissy leaving Ms. Kelly’s office. If you saw a monster, you… you wouldn’t go to the police. They’d never believe you. But you might go to your—”
“Your shrink.” Robin finished.
As usual, Steve was the first to notice that you’ve gone quiet. While the others are devising a plan to split your group into two, he leaned toward your ear.
“You okay?”
Startled, you faced him sideways. “Hmm? Oh, yes, I’m fine.”
Before he could ask further, your friends stood up and walked towards Steve and Nancy’s cars. Nancy said something about checking for something, in which you hastily volunteered to join, hoping that you could be of any help. Steve also volunteered after you, deep down not wanting to let you out of his sight because he is still unsettled about your behavior since yesterday.
In the end, You and Steve stayed with Max and Dustin, while Robin was the one to go with Nancy after finding out that she does not have a license and cannot drive the kids around.
Steve sent a few glances towards you as he drove to Ms. Kelly, but you kept your silence throughout the entire ride, head leaning back towards the passenger seat while you internally suffer another headache.
“Alright, we’re here,” Steve announced, followed by the sound of a car door opening as Max stepped out.
Shortly after seeing Max enter the house, you stepped out of Steve’s car, feeling suddenly suffocated from your seat.
“I’ll just wait outside.” You said as you swiftly closed the door, breathing heavily. You were too busy trying to steady yourself to notice that Steve followed you.
“Y/n, hey—” He stopped himself, standing beside you and taking your face in his hands. “Oh, god.”
“W-what?” You asked, suddenly aware that Steve is assessing your face closely.
“Here.” He hurriedly pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and handed it to you. It was only then that you felt something run down your nose.
“Oh.” You wiped the blood, slightly embarrassed but thankful.
“Are you sure you’re okay? Like, I know I asked you a hundred times since yesterd—”
“Steve, I’m fine. Really. It’s probably just because of the weather.” You waved your hand dismissively.
Steve eyed you suspiciously but decided not to say anything anymore. Still, he remained by your side during the entirety of waiting for Max. And for the first time in days, you feel calm.
Throughout your friendship, you only hid three things from Steve; the cause of your mother’s death, your growing feelings for him, and the nightmares that caused you to visit Ms. Kelly.
====================
The refusal of Ms. Kelly to enclose any information about Fred and Chrissy has led the four of you back to Hawkins High in the middle of the night. Thankfully, Max was able to sneak out the keys to the Counselor's Office, giving all of you access to the files.
You were hesitant to follow through with their plan, knowing that if they would go through the records, they would eventually find yours too. But it was too late when you noticed Max pulled out three folders from the drawers.
“Holy shit.” She whispered, catching yours, Steve’s, and Dustin’s attention.
“You found it?”
Instead of looking at Dustin, she slowly looked at you. “Yeah, and not just Chrissy’s. Fred was seeing Ms. Kelly too. And… Y/n?”
All heads turn to look at you as you tried to speak but nothing came out.
“Y/n?” Steve said worryingly.
“I had sessions with Ms. Kelly back in my freshman year, but it was only for a few months.” You tried to reassure them, but the expressions on their faces tell you that they know there’s something more. Sighing, you continued, “After that, I only had one more visit with her.”
“And… when was that?” Dustin asked slowly.
“Last Friday.” You noticed Max’s eyes went wide, while Steve and Dustin were still confused. “I was the person that Ms. Kelly was talking to before Chrissy.”
Max hurriedly sat down on Ms. Kelly’s desk, simultaneously opening the folders that she had in her hand, including yours. You sat beside her, flicking through each of the documents as you felt a soft hand on your back. You looked up to see Steve looking at you softly, and you gave him a small smile in return.
“The symptoms…” You snapped your attention back to Max as you heard her whisper, her eyes glued to the sheets.
“What?” You questioned. You leaned towards her side and looked over at the paper, recognizing Ms. Kelly’s handwriting.
Once you realized what the words were, you froze. Headaches, nose bleeds, nightmares. It was common in all of the three files.
You looked at Max, who returned your gaze. She looked like she was about to speak, but her expression turned blank, staring at your face with unmoving eyes.
“Max?” You said, looking at the girl unsurely. “Max. Hey!”
You placed your hands on her shoulders, shaking her slightly. This caught the attention of Steve and Dustin, who seemed to go over to the door to guard the room.
“What happened?” Steve said when he reached us.
“I don’t know!” You panicked.
You three continued to call for Max, and after a few seconds, she gasped.
“Woah, Max are you okay?” Dustin said, stepping away from the girl whose eyes are wandering around.
She stuttered, but before she could answer, you heard a set of footsteps from the hall. You stood up from your seat beside Max and walked towards the door with Steve.
“Come on, stay behind me,” Steve said to you and you nodded as you made your way towards the hallway.
Thankfully, the footsteps weren't from any guard. It was from Nancy and Robin. You immediately returned to the Counselor’s Office where Dustin is still asking questions about Max.
“What happened here?” Robin wondered, seeing the distressed expression of the younger girl.
Max finally found her voice and grabbed one of the flashlights from Dustin’s backpack. “Follow me.”
She led all of you towards a small hallway with a dead end.
“It was here. A grandfather clock was right here.” She breathed.
“A grandfather clock?” Nancy repeated, earning a nod from Max.
“It was so real. And then, when I got closer, suddenly I just… I woke up.”
“It was like she was in a trance or something.” You quietly said, the image of Max’s blank face still clear on your mind.
“Exactly what Eddie said happened to Chrissy.” Dustin continued.
Max turned to face you all. It was only then that you noticed a few nervous tears in her eyes. “That’s not even the bad part.”
She led all of you back into the office where the folders are still scattered on the desk.
“Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Ms. Kelly for help. Uh, they were both having headaches, bad headaches that wouldn’t go away.” She paused to look at you and shakily continued to enumerate the symptoms she found. “And then, the nightmares. Trouble sleeping. They’d wake up in a cold sweat. Then they started seeing things. Bad things, from their past. These visions, they just… they kept on getting worse and worse until eventually, everything ended.”
“Vecna’s curse,” Robin muttered.
You didn’t notice that Steve’s eyes were on you the whole time. He had so many questions, so many things that he wanted to clarify with you. He was slowly starting to understand what Max was trying to say, and why she kept looking at you. Yet, he refused to acknowledge any thought that threatens your life.
What you didn’t know is that your feelings towards Steve Harrington are very much reciprocated. He’s seen you at school before, but his pride and attitude as King Steve did not allow him to spend another thought on you. Though you weren’t exactly quiet because you like interacting with people, you were very straightforward in voicing your opinions. You had solid ground, always fighting for what you thought was right.
Although he would never admit it, he was infinitely grateful to Dustin for giving him the chance to properly meet you. It was a week after they had fought the demodogs underground, and Steve went over to the kids’ houses to check up on them. You were visiting Dustin after his mom invited you and your dad for dinner, and you did not try to hide your shock when you saw Steve Harrington visiting Dustin Henderson’s house.
There were no secrets between you and Dustin, as he already treated you like his older sister. So he was usually the one who tells you every detail of their adventures. At that time, it was hard to believe his stories about Steve’s involvement. You never saw him with any children while he was still in High School, how can you believe that he went through those troubles for a bunch of non-popular kids in middle grade?
Over time, your doubt left little by little. You saw how he genuinely cared for his friends, especially after Dustin. Sometimes it still amazes you that the Steve Harrington you knew from High School is the same as the Steve Harrington you visit at Family Video almost every day.
As Steve looked at you, he felt scared and angry. If he could trade places with you, he would.
Max’s voice interrupted his thoughts. “Chrissy’s headache started a week ago. Fred’s, six days ago. I… I’ve been having them for five days. I don’t know how long I have. All I know is that…” She paused, taking a deep breath as tears started falling from her eyes. “For Fred and Chrissy, they both died less than 24 hours after their first vision. And I just saw that goddamn clock, so… looks like I’m gonna die tomorrow.”
You stood closer to Max, placing your hand softly on top of hers.
“Wait, Y/n…” Dustin said, making all eyes turn to you. “When did yours start?”
“Four days ago.” You whispered. Now it’s Max’s turn to squeeze your fingers.
“Y/n? What—” Nancy was cut off by a loud crash from the hallway.
“Stay here,” Steve said, picking up a lamp before stepping outside the room.
The rest of you shared a glance and despite what Steve said, you all followed him outside. The sound of rapid footsteps made you hold your breath, and a series of screams left your mouth as the person revealed himself.
It was Lucas.
====================
After the arrival of Lucas, you and your friends decided to spend the night over at the Wheeler’s. You instantly borrowed their telephone as soon as the sun came out the next morning.
“Hey, dad.” You greeted him through the phone, slightly nervous about the inescapable scolding that you know will follow after not coming home for two days.
“Y/n! Where the hell are you?” You heard him speak.
“I’m here at the Wheeler’s. Nancy needed my help with… a paper they’re writing about Hawkins High. I’m sorry, it was sudden.” You said pathetically, hoping that he would not question you any further.
“Goodness! Do you know how worried I was? With all of these murders going around, I can’t have you wandering through town.” Your father said stiffly.
“I know. But I might need to stay a little longer here. I promise I won’t do anything stupid. Besides, Mrs. Wheeler is always here. She’s keeping an eye on us.” You said sweetly, silently praying that it’s enough to convince your father.
You heard him groan at the other end. “Alright, fine. But don’t go anywhere without adult supervision.”
“Dad, I’m eighteen! I’m an adult.”
“I know. It’s just a precaution.” He paused for a while before continuing with a softer tone. “Just… stay safe alright? And make sure you’re always with someone.”
Although he couldn’t see it, you smiled. “Alright. Bye, dad.”
You heard him bid you goodbye before dropping the call.
You walked back to the basement, finding Steve, Lucas, and Dustin seated on the sofa with pieces of paper surrounding them. You contemplated joining the boys, but your eyes noticed the younger girl at the bottom of the stairs, preoccupied with writing something on paper. You walked over to Max, quietly dragging a chair and bringing it over next to hers before sitting down.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” You gave her a small smile, and she tried to hide what she was writing by putting both of her arms on top of the paper.
“Tired... and scared. But I’m not going to sulk, not when it’s probably my last day living.” She tried to chuckle jokingly, but you’ve been friends with Max long enough to know when something is affecting her not.
“Don’t say that.” You shook your head at her, still keeping your voice down while the boys in the background were throwing questions at each other. “We’re going to find a way to save you, alright? I won’t let that Vecna monster take you away.” Similar to what you did the night before, you lightly held her hand.
Max looked like she was going to cry from your words. “How about you? Have you had any visions?” Max asked, trying to make the moment less emotional.
“No. But if your theory is correct, it’s only a matter of time before I get one.” You smiled sadly.
She looked away after seeing your expression and reached for an envelope with your name written on the back.
“What’s that?” You asked as she handed it to you.
“It's a fail-safe. You know, just in case things go sideways. Don’t open it now, though.” She said to you, now it’s your turn to get teary.
In three years of knowing her, you’ve seen Max go through a lot. You have seen her tough, throwing glares to whoever insults her friends. But you have also seen her vulnerable when she cried for hours after witnessing Billy’s death. You knew she tried to shake off the sadness, but you saw how she screamed for her brother that night. She was devastated, fearful, and crumbling.
You were surprised when she suddenly wrapped her arms around your shoulders.
“Thank you, Y/n. For everything.” Max whispered.
“Oh, Max.” You hugged her back, pulling her slightly closer.
Your exchange was cut off by the sound of an opening door. You all looked up to see Robin and Nancy hastily going downstairs, the latter was holding two folders in her hands.
“We have a plan.”
 ====================
Shortly after Nancy and Robin left for Pennhurst Asylum, and Max gave out the rest of her letters to the boys, you find yourselves in Steve’s car.
Max, who was pretty convinced that she was going to die despite your attempts to assure her that she won’t, insisted on visiting her home to deliver the remaining envelopes in her hand. Steve’s protests fell on deaf ears when the girl threatened him.
The stop at her house was quick, and now all of you are headed towards the cemetery.
Steve was able to find a parking spot, near enough for all of you to keep an eye on Max. Dustin and Lucas stood outside of the car, walkies at hand just in case.
“Why didn’t you tell us? Or at least, one of us.” Steve suddenly spoke, turning to look at you. His tone was low but kind, careful not to step over any boundaries.
You hesitated to answer but realizing that this could be the only moment you could have with Steve alone, you let your guard down. “I don’t know. I guess I thought I could fix it.”
“Fix what?” He asked.
“Everything.” You looked at him directly. “When the nightmares came back, the fear also came back. And I just thought that maybe something I did trigger it. But then these murders started happening, and Max and Dustin went on with their theories...”
“You knew?” Steve sadly asked, his own eyes dropping.
You nodded. “Yeah. I kind of pieced it together when Max mentioned Ms. Kelly. But I didn’t want to say anything because Max needs us right now and it would be selfish if I—“
“Y/n.” Steve stopped your rambling by placing his hand on top of yours that was relaxed on his dashboard. “Asking for help isn’t selfish, alright?”
You sighed, wanting to agree with him but you’ve always put your friends first. Before the conversation could go longer, Lucas peeked through Steve’s open window.
“Steve, how long has it been?” His eyes traveled to Max, who was still in the same seated position.
But she was steady.
You sneaked a few glances at her during your conversation with Steve. Her head would move every once in a while, looking at Billy’s gravestone and back to the letter. But now, she’s steadily staring ahead.
Before Steve could count the minutes on his watch and answer Lucas, you went out of the car towards Max.
“Y/n? What ar—“
“Hey! Max!” You jogged to her place, noticing that she didn’t look at you when you called her. It was only when you were right beside her that you noticed her eyes. Blank, shaking and covered with a white hue. “Max? Max! Guys!”
The rest of your friends hurriedly went towards you and Max after hearing your panicked shout. You and Steve continued to call for her, while Lucas had his hands firm on her shoulder as he shook her. Dustin was way ahead of all of you, already contacting Robin and Nancy through his walkie.
The next moments were just screaming from the four of you. Max remained unresponsive, and tears were already building up in Lucas’ eyes.
“C’mon! This is code red! Robin, do you copy!”
“Yes, yes, we copy!” You heard Robin’s voice on the other end, and you swore Dustin almost fainted in relief when she replied.
“Holy shit! Finally! What have you guys found?”
“Music! Make her listen to music.”
“Exactly what music?”
“Her favorite song! She has to have a connection with it.”
Not bothering to reply to Robin, Dustin ran back to the car, went through the window, and gathered Max’s cassette player and tapes.
“What’s her favorite song?” Dustin asked as soon as he dropped the tapes in front of us. Lucas scrambled through it, finally handing the right one back to Dustin who placed the headphones on Max.
You were all anxious as you waited for something to happen. Lucas increased the volume so much that even the four of you can hear it.
“Max! Come back to us, please!” He pleaded.
Then her body started to lift, frightening all of you. If you remember Eddie’s recollection of Chrissy right, you know what’s next. Lucas was fully crying as you all stared at Max’s body. He tried to reach her ankles but she was farther.
The next few seconds were tense. You were all afraid that the song might come to an end before Max could come back. But as you heard a deep breath coming from the girl, you were relieved.
Max fell to the ground, and Lucas wrapped his arms around her. It worked.
====================
As soon as you all gathered back to the Wheelers’ basement, Dustin filled in everything with Robin and Nancy. You took a seat on the couch, eyes dropping from all the tiredness and lack of sleep.
“Take a nap first.” You felt Steve position himself beside you, legs stretching outwards after driving around town.
Nancy, who heard Steve, agreed with him. “He’s right. We need to take a rest for a while. I can keep watch first, just in case.”
You all nodded, spreading yourselves around the basement to find a comfortable position.
“Feel free to use me as a pillow.” Steve jokingly said as he patted his shoulders. You let out a small laugh, slightly leaning on his side of the couch before closing your eyes.
====================
When you all woke up from your nap an hour ago, you didn’t expect to be coming to Victor Creel’s house. Nancy shared something about how this might be Vecna’s lair, which only led to more questions about why he would choose Victor’s house out of all places in Hawkins. Most importantly, what was the grandfather clock in Max’s vision doing in its hallway.
You all scattered around the house, trying to look for more clues that could give an answer to at least one of your questions. You were about to get inside another bedroom when you heard mumbles from the hall, seeing Nancy standing behind Steve as she pulled something out from his hair.
Your heart tugged a little as you walked away as quietly as you can, trying to go unnoticed by the two.
You heard a lot about Nancy and Steve’s relationship back in high school. The most popular boy with the smartest girl. According to most people, it was a match that seemed very unlikely yet perfect. Even now, as you look at the two, it is no wonder why they fell for each other.
In hopes of distracting yourself and finding more clues, you made your way down the stairs.
A mistake.
Barely five steps down, you felt cold, chills running down your back and arms. Your surroundings got darker as if someone closed the torn curtains over the broken windows of the house. But what caught your attention was the grandfather clock at the bottom of the stairs.
Minutes ago, it was broken. You could hardly recognize the numbers from how much dust and webs it collected over the years. Now it’s perfectly ticking, one tick louder than the next.
“Y/n.”
You flinched from the voice you didn't recognize. It was loud, deep, and terrifying. Yet you couldn’t find its source.
“Steve! Max! Guys!” Panicking, you ran back up, but your friends were nowhere to be seen.
The voice got louder as you ran through the halls, checking and opening every door that you could find in hopes that one of them could help you escape.
“You can try to run but I will find you.” It said tauntingly. “Your time will come to an end soon.”
A dead-end made you stop running. You prepared to turn around, still determined to find a way out. But you were shocked when an invisible force pushed you backward, making you stumble a step.
====================
You weren’t aware that Nancy and Steve actually saw you walk past them. It was mere seconds, but Nancy caught the way Steve perked up when he saw your form.
“You like her don’t you?” She whispered to him teasingly as she continued to remove the spider webs from his hair.
“W-what? No, I don’t.” Steve replied, suddenly thankful that Nancy couldn’t see his face as he felt his cheeks warm up. Though his stuttering gave him away.
She replied with a knowing “Hmm”, making Steve groan.
“Am I obvious?” He mumbled.
“Very. It isn’t hard to notice the way you look at her.” She smiled, also discreetly aware of how you looked at the boy.
She heard Steve sigh as he turned around, making Nancy stop picking on his hair. “I’m worried about her. I know she hasn’t experienced any visions— thankfully, but what if she does and we’re not there to save her?”
Nancy saw nothing but sincerity in the boy’s eyes, but she didn’t get a chance to reply after hearing Robin yell.
“Guys! Help, it’s Y/n!”
Steve was the first to run, following Robin’s voice and finding her at the top of the stairway. Her hands are on top of your shoulder, shaking you while you remain motionless.
“What happened?!” Steve said, lightly pushing Robin and replacing her hands with his. “Y/n?”
“I-I was on my way down and I saw her just standing here.” She explained, nervousness in her voice.
The rest of your friends have already gathered to where you are; Max’s eyes were wide as she realized what was going on. “She’s having a vision.” She whispered.
Steve, who was still trying to wake you up from whatever is pulling your conscience away, clearly heard Max’s words and panicked even more. It was just a minute ago when he was telling Nancy how scared he would be if this happened to you.
The moment that you returned, you let out a gasp, startling the rest. Steve felt like he could cry from relief after seeing your eyes move again, and he immediately pulled you into a hug.
“God, don’t scare me like that again.” He whispered to your ear, seemingly forgetting that all of your friends are looking at the two of you.
You were still catching your breath, and your brain took a while to notice that your face was pressed against Steve’s chest. You hugged him back quickly, muttering a quiet “I’m okay” and then pulled away eventually.
Max was the first to approach you when let go of Steve. “Tell us what happened.” She pleaded.
“I saw the clock.” You simply said, trying to remember every detail that you saw from your vision. You saw the way their faces dropped after you said it, and you knew that you didn’t have to explain anything else because they know what it means for you.
You’re Vecna’s next target.
====================
After your first vision, Steve refused to let you out of his sight. You and he stayed outside of the Creels’ house while your friends continued to search around, finding out that the Upside Down version of the attic is possibly where Vecna recharges his powers.
Still shaken up from what happened, you asked the group to make a short stop at your house. There are two things that you need to do; get a cassette player, and see your father.
Nancy volunteered to drive, while you were in the middle seat between Max and Steve. You leaned your head on his shoulder throughout the ride, while Max had her right arm hooked with your left.
“We’re here, Y/n,” Nancy announced as she parked in front of your house.
“Thanks, Nance. I’ll be quick.” You shot her a quick smile. Steve moved out of the car to allow you to do the same, but you raised your eyebrows when you noticed him following you to your front door. “You’re coming?”
“Can’t leave you alone again, Y/l/n.” He joked, eyes twinkling that you almost forgot you were cursed.
Before you get entranced by his smile, you stepped towards your house. The front door was locked, so you had no choice but to knock. Your father looked relieved when he saw your face.
“Y/n!” You threw yourself nearer to him and he opened his arms for a hug. “Oh, Steve. You’re here too.” Your dad smiled at the boy behind you. Everyone does like Steve Harrington.
Steve smiled in return as your dad ushered you both inside.
“So, how is Nancy’s paper going?” He asked.
“Paper?” You shot him a confused look, forgetting about the excuse that you made a day ago. “Oh! Yes, yes, it’s going great! Steve’s also helping her.”
Your dad nodded. “So, you’re staying tonight?”
Your heart dropped, the lingering thought of the curse suffocating you. “I can’t, dad. I’m sorry. I just stopped by to get some… stuff that I need.”
You’re oblivious to the fact that your father knew you very well, and he is certainly sure that you are not telling him the truth. But as he stared at you, assessing the tone of your voice and the emotions in your eyes, he didn't want to hold you back. He trusts you, and he knew that you would eventually tell him what’s going on when you’re ready.
“Do you need me to assist you?” Your father asked softly.
You shook your head with a smile. “It’s okay. I got it.”
He watched as you and Steve stepped upstairs, letting out a sigh before going to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, you started digging through your cabinets as soon as you reached your bedroom to search for your cassette. Steve took charge in going through the tapes, eyes flicking through the song titles.
“Found it.” You whispered under your breath when you spotted it. You were stunned when you stood up and saw Steve leaning against your door, smiling smugly. “What?”
He waved a very familiar dark purple audio tape. “Your favorite.”
Saturday Night Fever - “More Than A Woman” by the Bee Gees
“Damn, how’d you know?” You chuckled, trying to shake off the fluttering feeling that he knows your favorite song.
“Are you kidding me?” He exaggeratedly said. “There isn’t any idle moment when you aren’t singing this. You even kept the extra tape for your car.”
You laughed, remembering all the time that Robin had to shut you up because you wouldn’t stop singing the song. But your happiness was cut off short when you realized that your life now depends on that small tape that he was holding.
Steve sensed the change in your expression and quickly understood. “Hey, you’re going to be fine. We saved Max, we’ll save you too.” He smiled comfortingly.
You nodded, motioning that you need to go back to your friends who are waiting outside.
“Y/n.” Your dad called you before you got the chance to take a step out of your house. He pulled you into another quick hug. “Stay safe, alright?”
You hugged him tighter, suddenly fearing that this could be the last time you’ll ever see him. “Promise. I’ll see you soon, dad.”
You pulled away slowly, giving him another look before walking back to the car with Steve.
“Alright, we’re going to Eddie next,” Dustin announced.
====================
You felt another wave of terror when your group was supposed to bring more supplies to the cabin that Eddie is hiding in, but instead found the police and media surrounding the lake.
Another Hawkins High student was found dead.
The rumbling of Dustin’s walkie caught your attention, immediately identifying the voice on the other end as Eddie’s.
“Dustin, can you hear me? Wheeler?”
“Eddie, holy shit. Are you okay?” Dustin whispered back.
“Nah, man. P-pretty goddamn far from okay.” Eddie chuckled.
“Where are you?”
“Skull Rock. You know it?”
“Yeah. That’s near Cornwallis and—”
“Garrett, yeah. I know where that is.” Steve finished for Dustin.
“Hold tight. We’re coming.”
====================
You were thankful that your shoes are made for running.
Dustin and Steve’s bantering on the location of Skull Rock had you change your route three times already.
“Oh, boom! Bada bing bada boom. There she is, Henderson.” Steve said, pushing away a few bushes. “In your face, man.”
“Steve.” You shot him a scolding look for his words, shutting him up.
“Doesn’t make sense,” Dustin whispered under his breath but quickly ran up to Eddie when he saw him. “There you are! Jesus, we thought you were a goner.”
Eddie patted him on the back. “Yeah, me too, man. Me too.”
The next minutes were spent on filling Eddie in with everything you guys have found. Starting from Nancy and Robin’s visit to the Pennhurst Asylum, up to your recent vision.
“Wait, Y/n? You too?” Eddie looked at you with wide eyes.
You nodded sadly.
“Oh, shit.” He replied shakily, eyes darting from you to Dustin who was pacing back and forth. “Hey, uh, Henderson’s not, uh, cursed, is he?”
“Cursed? No, no. He’s fine.” Steve said. “Mental? Absolutely.”
“Boom!” You all flinched, surprised when Dustin shouted while pointing at Steve. “Bada… bada… boom. I was right.”
Steve rolled his eyes.
“Skull Rock was north.”
“Seriously? You’re serious?! This is Skull Rock. Okay?” He dramatically pointed his hand towards the gigantic rocks. “You’re totally, absolutely, one hundred percent wrong. Right now!”
Dustin looks unaffected by Steve’s bursts, muttering a few “mhmm” while smiling cheekily. “Yes… and no.”
“Oh my god.” Steve threw his hands, stepping closer to you while glaring at Dustin.
“This compass worked correctly when we left the Wheelers.” He began to explain. “It was correct when we got in the car in Curly, but it started to slip the further east we went. Now, it’s way off.”
You all looked at each other, not understanding what he was saying.
“When I was leading us here, I wasn’t wrong. The compass was.”
“So you’re using faulty equipment. You’re still wrong.” Steve butted in, and you gave him a slight shove to shut him up.
“Except, it isn’t faulty.” Dustin pointed at him before turning to Lucas. “Lucas, remember what can affect a compass?”
Lucas, who seemed to be getting what Dustin is talking about, quickly replied. “An electromagnetic field.”
“I’m sorry, I must've skipped that class,” Robin said.
“In the presence of a stronger electromagnetic field, the needle will deflect towards that power. So either there’s some super big magnet around here, or—”
“There’s a gate.” Lucas finished Dustin’s statement.
“We’re nowhere near the lab,” Nancy spoke for the first time in a while.
“But what if, somehow, there’s another gate? A gate that we don’t know about. It’d have to be smaller. Way less powerful.” Dustin explained.
“Snack-size gate,” Robin said.
“How? Why?” You asked.
“No idea. All I know is that something is causing this disturbance, and the last time we’ve seen anything like this, it was a gate. And I hope it is because we would have a way to Vecna, and a shot at freeing Max and Y/n from this curse.” Dustin went running, but Steve stopped him.
“Where are you going? Hey!” Dustin stopped, looking at a stressed Steve. “Eddie is still a wanted man. We can’t just go for a hike in the woods.”
Having enough from Steve, Dustin raised the compass in his hands. “This little steel capsule might be the key to saving Y/n, Max, and Eddie.” He turned directly to Eddie. “What say you, Eddie the Banished?”
All of you turned to Eddie who had been quietly sitting.
“I say you’re asking me to follow you into Mordor, which, if I’m totally straight with you, I think is a really bad idea.” He looked up. “But, uh, the Shire… the Shire is burning.”
Dustin hops adorably.
“So Mordor it is.” Eddie stated.
====================
If you thought the walk to Skull Rock was long, walking through the woods is even longer. What is even more annoying is that Dustin’s compass just led you back to the Lover’s Lake.
“There’s a gate in Lover’s Lake?” Max wondered aloud.
“Whenever the demogorgon attacked, it always left an opening,” Nancy answered. “Maybe, Vecna’s the same way.”
“Only one way to find out,” Steve said.
Your eyes noticed a small boat tied to a tree nearby, and you immediately made your way toward it.
“Where are you going?”
Ignoring Steve’s question, you untangled the rope and pulled the boat nearer to your group. Eddie and Steve took hold of each side, steadying the object.
Robin was the first to get in, placing her hands on the two boys’ heads to maintain her balance. Eddie followed, then Nancy, then you.
“Are you sure about this?” Steve asked you as he offered his hand.
“Yeah. Enough worrying, Harrington.” You smiled at him as he followed you in.
“Wait, Y/n!” Max called out for you. “Do you have your cassette?”
You nodded, turning to your side to show the small cassette player tucked in your back pocket.
Dustin walked forward, ready to join your group but Eddie and Nancy stopped him, insisting that he and Lucas should stay with Max. He reluctantly handed the compass, shaking his head as he stepped back with the other two.
Trying to lighten the mood, Robin yelled for them as she and Eddie paddled. “Bedtime at nine, kiddos! Miss you already!”
After around three minutes, the five of you were perfectly at the center of the Lake. Nancy asked to slow down the boat, the compass in her hand spinning wildly.
You noticed Steve taking off his shoes and socks. “Woah, Steve. What are you doing?”
“Somebody’s got to go down and check this out. Unless one of you four can top being a Hawkins High swim co-captain and a certified lifeguard for three years, then… it’s gotta be me. No complaints, alright?”
“Hey, I’m not complaining. I don't wanna go down there.” Eddie said nervously as he looked at the pitch-black reflection of the waters.
On the other hand, you were about to say something when Steve took his sweater off and you felt your throat go dry. Little do you know that Robin was looking at you, fighting the urge to laugh at your reaction.
Eddie handed Steve a flashlight wrapped in a plastic bag. “Good luck.”
“Steve.” You held his hand and looked up at him. “Be careful.”
He almost forgot what he was about to do as he stared at you, face illuminated by the moon. Instead, he smiled and rubbed the back of your hand with his fingers. “Will do. Enough worrying, Y/l/n.”
Turning back, Steve dove right into the water.
Barely two seconds after he did so, you looked at Nancy anxiously. “How long has it been?”
“Relax, Y/n.” She laughed a little. “He’s going to be fine.”
Despite her assurance, you couldn’t stay still, your eyes locked on the water. A minute later, you almost fell back in shock when Steve raised his head on the surface.
“I found it,” Steve said, panting. A series of cheerful exclamations followed your group at his statement.
“Dustin, you are a goddamn Einstein. Steve found the gate.” Robin said, communicating with the kids through her walkie.
“Come on. Grab my hand.” You reached Steve with your right hand.
Before he could grab yours, however, he was pulled back under the water.
“Steve!” You shouted, your panic turned into horror when you saw no sign of Steve.
“What the hell was that, man?!” Eddie screamed behind you.
Without another thought, you stood up on the edge of the boat, taking off your shoes as Steve did a while ago.
“Woah. Hold on. Y/n, where are you going?” Robin asked, one hand holding your arm.
“I can’t leave him there alone, Robin.” You said determinedly, pulling your arm away from her grasp.
“Y/n— no!” You heard Nancy yell after you, but you already jumped into the water.
You weren’t the best swimmer, but you didn’t care. You had one thing on your mind, and that is to save Steve.
Your eyes widened when you spotted the gate, its dark red color made you nervous. But you swam right through, shocked when you realized that the other end was dry.
You were panting as you pulled yourself up, legs slightly shaking from tiredness. Taking in your surroundings, you noticed the familiar trees around you.
This is the Lover’s Lake in the Upside Down. Only this lake was dry, and dark thick vines covered almost the entire floor.
You heard a pained yell from behind you, your heart pumping faster when you laid eyes on Steve. You ran towards him and grabbed a paddle from a nearby boat that looked the same as what your group had used.
“Steve!” You yelled, hitting one of the demobats that attempted to go near you.
Steve spotted you, but his screams were cut off when one of the bats wrapped his tail around his neck. You went near him, using the pack of the paddle to crush the creature’s head.
Once its tail was loosened, you helped an injured Steve get up. “Come on. We need to get out of here.”
“Y/n! Steve! Look up!” You heard Robin’s familiar voice. You were stunned for a moment when you spotted her running with Nancy and Eddie.
“Shit,” Steve muttered, bracing himself.
You looked up, seeing another group of the demobats.
Nancy grabbed the other paddle from the same boat, while Eddie, Steve, and Robin aimed for their tails.
You didn’t know how long this occurred, but you were overcome with relief when you saw Eddie slam the last one to the ground. You all sighed, chests heaving from the swimming and physical fight that happened consecutively.
“Jesus H. Christ!” Eddie screamed, shaking his head.
You ran to Steve, eyes searching for more injuries. “Are you alright? How are you feeling?”
“Well, they took about a pound of flesh. But other than that, yeah, never better.” Steve tried to hide his pain by chuckling, but the action made him wince even more.
“This isn’t funny, Steve. We need to get out of here.” Your eyes were glued to his sides, stomach turning to the sight of running blood.
The sound of screeching caught all of your attention, and you spotted more demobats heading toward the lake.
“The woods. Come on.” Nancy said, motioning for all of you to follow her.
The run through the forest was painful for your feet, but you couldn’t imagine how Steve was feeling with his open wounds. You eventually reached the Skull Rock of the Upside Down, and Nancy gave you a torn piece from her clothes as a bandage for Steve.
“You alright?” Steve asked you quietly as you reached around his back, his own eyes searching for any scrape on your face.
“Don’t worry about me.” You dismissed him quickly, finishing up the make-shift bandage by tucking the ends. “There, all done.”
Steve held your hand, looking from his wound back to your face. “Thank you, Y/n.”
You gave him a nod and tugged on his hand, silently asking him to sit on the ground with you to take a rest. But as soon as you did, you remembered something and you froze.
You hurriedly pulled the cassette player from your back pocket, eyes widening in fear when you noticed that it was broken and leaking with water.
“Shit, St—“ You looked back up, expecting to see Steve but none of your friends were there. The sky was still tinted with the red color, but there was smoke forming around the ground that you were standing on. You froze, already having an idea what is going on.
“Y/n...” You heard the echo of the same dark voice from your first vision.
“What the fuck do you want from me?” You angrily said, looking around you. A tall silhouette on your left made you shudder when you noticed that it was heading toward you.
“You think you can save your friends. You weren’t even able to save your mother.” It taunts, the voice getting louder as the figure gets closer. “Your time will end soon, Y/n.”
You recognized the same ticking sound that you heard from Victor Creel’s house, and you noticed the grandfather clock embedded in one of the rocks.
On the other end, Steve had his hands on your cheeks. He witnessed the way your arm limped to your sides, dropping the cassette to the ground. Your face turned upwards as if looking directly at someone. But your eyes were unmoving, and your mouth slightly opened. It was the same expression that you had a few hours ago in the mansion.
“Y/n! C’mon, you have to listen to me. Y/n!” He kept yelling for you. Nancy and Robin were also trying to shake your hands, while Eddie is on the verge of a breakdown.
Like the first time, you gasped when you regained your body. You were scrambling away from Steve as your mind wasn’t able to process that you were back with your friends.
“Woah, calm down. You’re alright.” Steve tried again to come near you. This time, your eyes steadied at him, and you wrapped your arms around his shoulder.
Steve comforted you as he hugged you back. He could feel you tremble in his arms; his heart broke as he wished he could take you away from all of this.
You pulled away after a minute, and Nancy was quick to formulate another plan after you assured her that you were okay.
“We need weapons. We’re going to need everything that we can use to defend ourselves. And we also need a music player.” She stated.
“Where are we gonna get those?” Eddie asked.
“Oh, and another follow-up question. Do music players work in the Upside Down?” Robin continued slowly.
“I don’t know, but we have to try,” Nancy said, looking at you. You gave her a small quick smile as a sign of gratitude and the girl was quick to return it. “We need to go to my house. We can find all of those things there.”
“Wait, you said weapons. What exactly are the weapons in your house?” Eddie wondered.
“Guns. I have guns.” Nancy said, her tone flat.
Eddie was left with his mouth open, stuttering more questions about how Nancy Wheeler has guns. Plural.
Nancy simply laughed and started walking, Robin following closely behind her.
Steve positioned himself beside you, but Robin linked her arms with yours, pushing you in between her and Nancy.
Annoyed, Steve glared at the back of his friend’s head but he saw Eddie pushing a denim vest in front of him.
“For your modesty, dude.” Eddie said, earning a muffled “thank you” from Steve.
A few minutes have passed and you were laughing with the two girls as you walked. Steve stared softly at you, happy that you were smiling despite the circumstances. He would rather throw himself into the group of demobats than let anything hurt you.
He felt terrified. Based on his understanding of Eddie’s story and Max’s experience, Vecna’s victims are only given three visions— you just had your second.
“It’s very metal, what you did. That’s all I’m saying.” Eddie’s voice interrupted Steve’s thoughts. “You know, personally I would never jump in that lake to save your ass. No offense. But Y/n, right there, she didn’t waste a second. Not one second. She just dove right in.”
Eddie was careful to keep his voice down, and Steve’s eyes traveled from him to your figure.
“From what I heard, you two are just friends. But let me tell you, dude, what she did is more than just a friendly act.”
“She shouldn’t have done that,” Steve replied with the same volume. Meanwhile, his mind imagined what Eddie just said. You, jumping right after he was pulled down. Why would you risk yourself from him?
“But she did.” Eddie shrugged, a smile forming on his face.
Steve didn’t speak, trying to pretend that he was more interested in the trees. Yet his mind was on you— not the first time though. He felt an ounce of hope, a voice in his head saying that you feel the same way. But the other voice doubts, threatening him that this might ruin your friendship.
A few minutes more and you find yourselves out of the forest, walking on the cemented floor instead of soil.
“Right there.” Nancy pointed at her house, slightly walking faster.
You were both relieved and creeped out by the sight of the Wheelers’ house. The color remains the same, but the same thick vines that you saw earlier were wrapped almost entirely around its exterior, and some branches were able to puncture through the glass windows.
“Come. My guns are upstairs.” You all followed Nancy to her bedroom door, but she turned to look at you before you could enter. “Oh, Y/n, most of the audio tapes are in my parents’ bedroom. I’ll grab my player for you.” She said, pointing at the door next to hers.
“I’ll go with you,” Steve said from beside you and you nodded, quickly thanking Nancy.
Her parents’ room was a bit bigger than hers, but you didn’t have any trouble finding the tapes, seeing them displayed on a work table. You crouched down, eyes dragging quickly over every piece.
“Got it.” You said, pulling out the same tape that you brought from your house.
You were prepared to leave the room, but you stopped when you noticed Steve quietly sitting on the bed. His fingers were picking through Eddie’s denim jacket.
“You alright there?” You asked, walking over to him.
“You have to stop worrying about me. It’s you that we have to save.” He answered, eyes looking at yours.
You sat beside him and smiled. “Well, hopefully, this tape works.”
“I’m sorry.” You heard him whisper, brows furrowed in confusion.
“Sorry? Sorry for what?”
“For not noticing what you were going through.” Steve looked at the tape in your hand. “If I noticed, I could’ve helped you earlier and—”
“Steve.” You said sternly. “You have nothing to apologize for. I chose to hide.”
He went quiet, eyes still dropped low.
“Do you remember when I told you how my mother died?” You whispered. You were still hopeful that you could escape Vecna’s grasp; if Max survived, so can you. But just in case things go unsuccessfully, you don’t want to regret not telling the truth.
“A car accident,” Steve said hesitantly.
You nodded, gulping before proceeding to talk. “There was this girl in my class who was popular, and she was going to celebrate her birthday but only those with invitations could come. I was surprised when she gave me one, but I was so flattered.” You chuckled, shaking your head at your ridiculousness when you were younger. “I asked my parents if I could join, but my mom was against it because she knew I wasn’t anywhere close to that girl.
I was so annoyed. I mean, when I look back at it now, it does sound stupid. I probably didn’t even have any conversation with her, but my thirteen-year-old self was persistent. So I sneaked out to the party and asked one of my friends to cover for me. But my mom knew me very well and eventually found out where I was. I have never seen her so disappointed.
She picked me up that night, and while we were on our way home, it started raining. The rest of my memories were blurred, but I couldn’t forget how terrified she looked. The next thing I know is that I was in the hospital. I saw my dad cry for the first time as he told me that mom was gone. The police said something about losing control of the brakes but it didn’t register to me. If I just listened to her, she’d still be alive.”
You didn’t realize that you were tearing up until you felt Steve hold your hand, squeezing it as he wrapped his other arm around you.
“We moved to Hawkins after a few months because it was just painful, everything in our house reminded us about her. But it still wasn’t easy. I had to go to Ms. Kelly because my nightmares weren’t stopping. Then I met the kids, you, Nancy, and Robin, and I felt like I could breathe again. But then, of course, this monster curses me.”
You had tears freely falling down your cheeks at this point. Steve pulled you closer to him as you cried, your face tucked between his shoulder and neck.
Steve didn’t know what to say— he was never the best at comforting. But you didn’t need to hear any words, content with the feeling of Steve’s hands running up and down your hand.
“We’ll save you alright? I won’t let anything happen to you.” He whispered, and without thinking, he pressed a small kiss on your forehead.
You look up to meet his eyes, your own pair slightly wide from the unexpected affection from Steve. When he saw your expression, his brain seemed to register what he’d done.
“Oh, uh, I… s-sorry.” He stuttered.
Steve Harrington was never the one to stutter in front of girls. He always knew what to say and how to say it; but with you, he always felt like he was lost for words. Now, as he looked at your face, traces of tears still evident on your cheeks after letting him see your vulnerability, he wanted nothing else than to hold you forever. But he needed to tell you the truth first.
“Y/n.” He started slowly, trying to formulate his words. “I-I know this isn’t really the best time to say it but…”
Here goes nothing.
“I like you, Y/n. No, screw that, I’m falling for you. And now I think I just ruined our friendsh—”
You cut him off as you raised both your arms and wrapped them around his shoulder. Your sadness from earlier is no longer there, replaced by the happiest feeling as you laughed softly.
“You’re right. This isn’t the best place to confess.” You said as you pulled away. “But I’m falling for you too, Steve Harrington. I have been for a while.”
Steve looked at you with his mouth slightly open, his mind still processing the words you have said. “You mean that?” He asked, a smile starting to form on his face.
You nodded, looking at him with nothing but sincerity and adoration in your eyes. He leaned in closer to you, feeling the wetness of your cheeks from your tears as he pressed his hands on both sides of your face.
“Can I kiss you?”
You answered him by leaning in, closing the gap between your faces. The kiss was soft and quick, but enough for you to take in the feeling of each other’s lips.
“Hey, guys, we need you downs— oh.” You both pulled away upon hearing Robin’s voice from the door. The girl had her mouth and eyes wide. “We leave you two alone for a few minutes and you’re already eating each others’ faces.”
You and Steve laughed as he helped you to your feet, his hands softly brushing the remaining tears from your cheeks.
“But I gotta say, nice one, dingus! Took you long enough.” Robin said cheekily as Steve glared at her.
“Shut up.” He groaned, following you as you stepped out of the room.
Robin rolled her eyes, but her expression turned serious. “Come on, we might have a problem.”
====================
After swimming to the bottom of the lake, walking through the forest, and now rapidly biking towards Eddie’s trailer, you felt like your legs would give out anytime.
Nancy was disappointed to find none of her guns after realizing that the time setting of the Upside Down is three years stuck in the past. Still, you were grateful for three reasons. One, you were able to communicate with the kids on the other side, and now all of you are on your way to getting out of this dimension. Two, Nancy’s cassette was working and is safely tucked inside your pockets. Three, Robin. Her teasing and bickering with Steve made this entire situation much lighter.
You were happy when you finally took the familiar right turn to Eddie’s place, stepping out of your bikes as soon as you reached his front lawn. As expected by Nancy, you found another portal on Eddie’s ceiling. It looks identical to the one at the lake, and you all freaked when a stick poke through.
You almost screamed in happiness when you saw Dustin, Max, Lucas, and Erica on the other side. A few minutes later, Dustin threw a makeshift rope from blankets, the others preparing a mattress for your group to land on.
Robin climbed first, followed by Eddie and Nancy.
“Go on.” Steve smiled at you.
“See you on the other side?” You asked him, eyes twinkling.
He let out a small laugh, nodding his head. “See you on the other side.”
You reached for the rope, pulling yourself up with every remaining strength that you have. But you didn’t fall on the mattress.
Steve watched you position yourself in front of him, ready to grab onto the rope. But when you went steady with your hands falling to your side, his face went cold.
“Y/n?” He moved to face you, eyes widening when he saw your eyes glazed. It was the same look that Max had at the cemetery. He cupped your face, shaking you as softly as he could. “Shit. Y/n! Stay with me. Y/n!”
On the other end, Steve heard Max shout. “It’s Vecna! Play her music, Steve!”
His hands were shaking as he reached for your back pocket, inserting the tape into the cassette player. He immediately placed the headphones on your ears, holding your hand after he did so.
“C’mon, Y/n. You gotta come back to me.”
====================
You fell into darkness, wincing and gasping as you felt yourself land on your back. It took you a few seconds to sit up, taking in your surroundings.
You were in the middle of a road, with several police cars and an ambulance lined up to your left. The sky was dark; it was night.
Standing up slowly, you were overwhelmed with panic and fear, not fully understanding what was happening.
“Y/n.” The familiar dark voice spoke, making you gasp from how loud it was. “Did you forget what you’ve done?”
You looked around, but everything was dark aside from the flashing lights from the cars. It was only then that you noticed a shattered car to your right.
You trembled upon seeing the familiar car.
Its front part was completely destroyed, looking similar to the bent street light pole. You froze when you noticed someone come out from the driver’s side, slowly walking towards you.
“Oh, Y/n.” You heard your mother’s voice, recognizing her dim-lighted face as she stood a few feet away from you. “You did this to me. You killed me.” She wickedly laughed.
“W-what? I—” You stuttered, stumbling a few steps back.
“If only you had listened to me.” The more she comes near you, the more you can see her figure change. Your mother’s body was slowly transforming into something you couldn’t comprehend. Its body was similar to a human, but taller and covered in the same vines from the upside down.
“I see you’ve been looking for me, Y/n.” Its voice went back to the usual, its eyes glowing red and black.
You gasped, remembering Max’s description of the same monster who curses you.
Vecna.
Without thinking, you turned around and ran. You didn’t know where your path would lead you, but you were desperate to stay away from him. You tripped over something, and the cemented ground that you first found yourself on had transformed into a wooden floor.
You looked up, seeing that you were back in Victor Creel’s house. Although, this was far from what you have seen. This house looked new, fresh, and alive.
“You wanted to find out the truth, Y/n?” Vecna’s voice echoed, though he wasn’t anywhere in sight.
Your attention was brought to the four people in front of you, noticing two kids and two adults. Victor Creel’s family. Your eyes stuck to the young boy, his eyes looking around the house with a blank expression.
Your surroundings shifted every once in a while, each vision focusing on Victor’s son, Henry. You follow him as he quietly watches his family members, spying on their every move. You were shocked when you were led outside, witnessing the boy kill a struggling rabbit with powers similar to Eleven’s.
But that’s not what terrified you.
You watched the night when Victor was arrested. It wasn’t him who killed his wife and daughter. It was Henry.
The flashbacks ended, the house’s walls slowly disintegrating into red smoke. You shivered when you realized that you were brought to the same place from Max’s drawings.
“Your time is over, Y/n. Now, you will join me.” You turned around, seeing Vecna coming closer to you.
“Fuck you!” You shouted, feeling something wrap around your ankle. Before you could look down, you were dragged backward, another set of vines wrapping around your wrists to pull you up against a column.
Vecna watched you struggle, a demonic smile forming on his face as he stood directly in front of you. “I’m here to end your suffering, Y/n.” He raised his right hand towards your face, your eyes widening in fear as you looked at his sharp fingers.
That’s when you heard it.
Oh, girl, I've known you very well
I've seen you growing every day
It was a faint sound, and you almost thought that it just came from your imagination.
I never really looked before
But now you take my breath away
Vecna’s motions stopped, angrily turning around. You followed his eyes, a gasp escaping your lips as you spotted a portal-looking exit.
Suddenly you're in my life
Part of everything I do
But it wasn’t just that. You saw Steve’s form, frantically shaking you. When Vecna returned his sight to you, he was furious.
“You don’t belong with them. You belong with me, here.” He sneered, raising his hand once more.
His words snapped something inside you. You remembered all the times you hung out with Robin and Steve over at the Family Video; the times when the boys would ask you to ride the bike with them, letting them purposely win when they ask for a race; the times when you volunteered to be Max and El’s chaperone to the mall; the times where your dad would always bake your birthday cake because you refused to eat any cake that wasn’t done by him; and the all the times you spent with Steve.
How you two would endlessly annoy Robin. How he secretly enjoys being with Dustin despite the fact that they always fight whenever they’re together. And the moment you had several minutes ago back at the Wheeler’s.
This isn’t where you belong. You belong with your friends, your dad, with Steve.
You got me working day and night
Just tryin' to keep a hold on you
You twisted your right wrist from one of the vines, lifting a punch to Vecna’s cheek. He stumbled back as the rest of his grip loosened around you.
You pushed away all the tiredness from the past days as you took the opportunity to run, avoiding as much falling debris as you could.
Here in your arms I found my paradise
My only chance for happiness
And if I lose you now, I think I would die
Oh, say you'll always be my baby, we can make it shine
We can take forever, just a minute at a time
More than a woman
More than a woman to me
You will come home.
====================
Steve was crying, tears shamefully dropping on his face as he looked at your rising body. Your back aggressively landed on Eddie’s ceiling, just a few inches away from the gate where the rest of your friends are shouting.
“Shit. Come on, Y/n. Come back to me.” He said, trying to reach you.
He isn’t going to give up on you. He made a promise to keep you safe, and not even a monster from another dimension will break it.
He cried harder when he saw your eyes return to normal, a loud gasp escaping from your lips. Instinctively, he reaches his arms out, catching you before you land.
Your eyes were distraught, assessing everything around you. Steve held your face with one of his hands, still crying.
“Y-you’re back.” He said shakily as your eyes steadied on him.
“Oh, Steve.” You breathed, wrapping your arms around the boy. “I’m fine. I’m fine.”
He held you for a little while longer, occasionally pressing a few kisses on your forehead while the rest of your friends were exclaiming joyfully.
“Come on. Let’s go to the other side. Together.”

Thank you for the explanation and now I would like to explain a few things.
The Tweets about Xavier was just me pointing out facts like the correct amount of time when he and Wednesday last saw each other before Nevermore and I can also assure that the rumors about PHW are untrue.
He confirmed that he never met the person who started the rumors and the alleged victim also confirmed that he didn’t do anything to her and that they are still good friends.
The racist video was just him rehearsing his lines for a Tv show that takes place in the 1950s and the artworks were just aesthetics like Traumacore.
It wasn't the time period reminder that annoyed me. It was about you pointing out that Wednesday was rich too, because it meant that you didn't understand Wednesday as a character at all.
She knows that. She damn well knows she's being a hypocrite bcuz she isn't a nice or virtuous person and never expects people to see her as one. Her sense of justice is strong, which is why she hates the privileged and discriminatory. She has a moral code. But it does not exempt her from hypocrisy, which is a character flaw that she has no qualms with and as do I. She's a pretty shitty person. Which should be news to no one.
As for Percy, dude. Do you know him? How are you so certain he's telling the truth? As I've mentioned I'm not sure myself, but that's besides the point. The other person who replied to you was right, you really miss people's points.
I wasn't talking about that video or the artworks he liked on ig. I was talking about the racist tweets he liked. That's enough for me to dislike him. And if you'd rather overlook that that's your choice. But if you keep bothering me about him or xavier on my inbox I'm blocking you here, too

You know, with the reveal of the official title now, don't you think that this line from the 2020 Behind the Scenes video just got a whole lot more interesting? 👀
"They call me the Dread Wolf, what will they call you when this is over?"
I've sadly seen people interpret this line as him proclaiming his title like some cliché villain going "Look at me. I am the mighty Dread Wolf. Who are YOU to oppose me?".
But what he's basically saying is "I tried to save my people, now look how I'm remembered as the greatest monster in their mythology". As far as we know, Solas was very much the hero of his own story, a mirror to the Inquisitor. So assuming that this line is a response to the new protagonist, now he's asking them "So if that's what happened to me, how will history remember you - the "hero" - when this is over?" (and what does that say for the actions of the new protagonist then? 👀).
The thing is, "Dread Wolf" is not just the game's title now, but a literal title that was "bestowed" on him by his enemies to spread lies and stop the people from joining him. And over the ages, it became a mistranslated one at that. (And btw, whether it's intentional or not, don't you kinda love the irony in that everyone is now making these jokes like "After eight years BioWare has boldly confirmed DA4 is about Solas" or how a lot of people are now concerned that the game will be all about him, when - in the lore - this title was literally false propaganda? 😂).
"I was Solas first. Fen'Harel came later. An insult I took as a badge of pride. The Dread Wolf inspired hope in my friends and fear in my enemies… Not unlike “Inquisitor”, I suppose. You also know the burden of a title that all but replaces your name.”
But that's precisely the point. Solas loathes this title, yet he still chose to use and embrace it and let it fuel his pride and his determination even *after* he, presumably, called himself Pride. The very counterpart of Wisdom in DA and a name that, we can assume, is likely not his first name, if the spirit origin theory turns out to be true.
Tumblr media
What does the title "Dreadwolf" truly entail (besides the goddamn anagram thing lol), if the matter of getting Solas to remember his "true name" is actually going to play a big part in the next game?
"We will save our friend from himself... if we can."
If there's any way to stop him other than actually killing him, maybe it won't be Solas himself we have to fight, but figuratively destroy the title that stands for everything that has lead to his tragedy, his pride - his greatest flaw and "the burden of a title that all but replaces your name". And maybe this will be the way to have him remember his true name, his original purpose and in doing so, not only "save our friend from himself", but the world as a whole?
(.........Also, this “April Fools joke” tweet from Alix Wilton Regan (one of the Inquisitor’s VAs) won’t leave my friggin mind and I’m just - )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So what if this wasn’t actually a flippin joke and, with all of this in mind now, what could it meeean??? 😂 I mean, “Dread Wolf” IS just a title.. sooo technically, it can be passed on to anyone or even a whole group of people, right? So.. if Solas does get his true name back, why not just pass the title over then, so that he doesn’t have to bear it anymore. 😂
Whatever it is, it’s getting more and more obvious to me that there’s a deeper meaning and reason behind this title than just “Solas is the Big Bad” and I can’t wait to find out!

explaining my autistic hinata hc
“star,” you may be asking, “why are you doing this to yourself? you are sick and should be sleeping, not explaining something nobody has asked you to explain.”
the answer? because i want to and none of you can stop me.
to start with, a special interest in autism is an interest that is passionate and intensely focused and they can be absorbing to the point that they’re the only thing that somebody wants to do or talk about (they’re also typically much longer lasting than hyperfixations). you can very obviously see these characteristics in hinata’s love for volleyball and how it seems to be the only thing he talks about. he practices all of the time, and sure it’s to get better, but that comes from an all encompassing love of the sport.
he also uses volleyball to connect with people in meaningful ways. one example off the top of my head is when he meets kenma for the first time. sure, the interaction starts with him asking about a video game, but you can see how hinata becomes so much more invested in the conversation once kenma confirms that he plays volleyball. he immediately becomes much more comfortable in the situation with the presence of somebody who also has an interest in volleyball.
he seems to have trouble connecting to people without the use of volleyball. he doesn’t have any friends besides the people he knows from volleyball, and that may be a lot of people but it’s still true. we don’t know what happened with his friends from middle school, but we never see or hear from them again after he starts high school. in my opinion, that indicates that he has trouble keeping up with friends when they’re not seeing each other fairly often. which also helps explain why he was so nervous about losing his friends when he was in brazil (other than the obvious reasons). he also seems to have trouble picking up social cues, when he met kenma he didn’t really pick up on the fact that kenma seemed pretty uncomfortable with the situation. there are also other instances that i cannot be arsed to find rn, but do know that they exist.
also the gestures that he makes when he’s talking about volleyball seem like stimming to me, especially since he does it when talking about what i see as his special interest. i’m speaking from personal experience when i say that i tend to stim more when i’m talking about my special interest or a current hyperfixation. the fidgeting that he does in general could be considered stimming since they’re repetitive physical movements (though those aren’t the only type of stim they are the one that applies the most to hinata).
the way he explains how volleyball works in his mind but it doesn’t make sense to anybody else (besides noya). idk how to explain this one, just thought i’d mention it. if anyone has anything to add for this one please let me know.
let me know what you think of this!! i’m open to discussion about this (i really really wanna talk to somebody about it), but please remember to be respectful even if you disagree with me. thanks for reading, i hope it made sense.

As a blog that’s been around a while…..can confirm. Lol 🧜🏻‍♀️/ I like and have been following Chris' work since his fantastic 4 days but only started to be into gossip/his personal life since the pandemic, so I really didn't follow his past relationships much (just what I read in magazines). I have to admit I liked him with Jenny, I bought the - nerdy girl gets the hot guy, that's so cute - narrative they sold but had no idea at the time that the timeline of their relationship was so shady. Since you have been here for a while and followed both Minka and Jenny eras can I ask you what are the main things you think he is doing in this relationship that he didn't do in his previous ones (besides getting married, lol)? In the people's sma interview he said that his age and experience make him a much better partner now than when he was younger. From the perspective of someone that has been following his career and personal life for a while do you think that he was being honest when he said that and didn't say it just to look good?
From the perspective of someone that has been following his career and personal life for a while do you think that he was being honest when he said that and didn't say it just to look good?
No, I don’t think he was just saying that. I do believe that’s a true statement. Not because Chris specifically said it, but because I think it’s human nature for all of us to learn from relationships and grow as we move forward into the next relationship. Even if things don’t end well, I think there’s always something to be learned. For example—I had an ex who only ever wanted to discuss important topics via text. He was awful at conversation and communication in general. I hated having big conversations via text because I couldn’t pick up on his facial expressions or mood and it made it so hard to read where he was at on some things. We got into an argument at one point and I brought it up about how we constantly had miscommunication errors because we could never have face to face conversations and that bothered me. We ended up breaking up for various reasons, but a few years down the line he actually thanked me for that moment of calling his shit out because it made him a more present partner in his next relationship going forward. Even if things end poorly, I think there’s always something to learn about yourself, what you do and don’t want out of relationships/what you’re willing to tolerate or compromise on, or just how to be a better partner in your next relationship. Chris is much older than I am and if I’ve been able to learn that lesson from my interactions, I’m sure he has as well.
As for what’s different, I think that’s hard to answer from a public standpoint because the differences are probably more noticeable in private between those who personally know him. But from what we can see, he’s willing to be public with her. Posting the photo montage and scare video montage he did of Alba was something I never expected to see from him because he had never put a significant other on his social media like that before. The best Jenny ever got was her voice in a video of Dodger. He also brought her on the Vanity Fair red carpet with him and posed at an official/big industry event. Yes, he did take a picture with Jenny at the premiere of Secret Life of Pets, but that was so low key in comparison to an Oscars after party. I also feel like while it sucks to see him disappear on social media, I feel like he’s made that change to protect the people he cares about the most from his more rabid fans by limiting their access to him. He’s not as open about his whereabouts as he used to be back when he constantly shared IG stories or pictures from his life. And his willingness to travel for Alba. I always expected when he got married, the woman would really have to mold her life around him and where he wanted to be. But he’s taken trips back and forth to Portugal with her and they’re getting their own places there, so he clearly intends to keep doing that in their own space there. I didn’t expect to see that from him because there were plenty of times with Minka and Jenny when they needed to be back in LA for things and he stayed home in MA 🦎

WOAHHHHH BUDDY WE GOT A SPICY VIDEO. I'm gonna do some bullet-point responses and interject with my own opinion on the character.
1:01 - 1:55 "Kairi did f*ck all to earn her keyblade and people lost their minds when she was able to wield one."
To be fair, Sora also got the keyblade by accident in three. She did also win over Aqua by giving her flowers and having a spell put on her. It's not much but let's give her credit where we can.
2:17 - 2:22 "jumping ahead to kingdom hearts 1 what all does she do? Seriously name me three things she does."
She helps establish Riku's personality and how he's changed like the scene where she said that she wants just her a Sora to take the raft. Most importantly, she saves Sora from fucking dying. TWICE? Once when RiSem was about to kill him, and another time when Sora turned into a heartless.
5:50 - 5:57 "I'm changing lanes here but people seem to equate the end scene and the conversation with roxas and namine as a relationship for Kairi and Sora"
The best part about that? Days confirmed they barely know each other. Not trying to be bitter, but it's very funny and interesting to make that comparison. Sora and Kairi definitely know each other more than Namine and Roxas do.
6:02 - 6:15 "You've given the relationship between sora and kairi absolutely zero development this end conversation with Sora and Riku sets up more of their relationship and the love they have for one another more so than anything kairi has ever done"
Okay, so to show my own bias here, I agree to some extent, but again, we don't need to discredit Kairi and Sora's scenes. The tunnel scene in KH3 does a good job at further establishing their relationship and how they're always there for each other when the other falls. Even in spirit.
9:10 - 9:20 "Yes i know Kairi has a backstory but it's about the lore of the worlds not her so it's not all that helpful to make her relevant."
I actually that the fact that Xehanort was the one to send Kairi to Destiny Islands and the one to technically kick off Kairi and Sora's destinies together can have some interesting implications, but, a characters importance should not rely on theory and conjucture.
10:46 - 11:01 "I have no idea why kh3 ends with sora sacrificing himself for he why he cares so much why this is treated like riku or even donald had died because if those who had died had anyone else besides Kairi died this would have made a thousand times difference."
People forget Kairi and Sora are still childhood friends. You can think they've drifted apart if you want to, but broski, if my childhood friend who I haven't a conversation with in years was falling off a cliff, I'd want to save them!
While there are some bitter moments and ship bias in here, I do see this as more of a Kairi video then a ship bashing video. With the way the character is written, it's very easy to talk about Sora and Riku's accomplishments and characters while barely mentioning Kairi. It is not easy to do the vice versa.
My own thoughts on Kairi:
I feel as though Kairi is a lot more interesting to think about if you see her as a feminine flip side to Sora's perspective and role. Think about it? What role does Sora play? He's the stereotypical hero who goes around helping people and saving princesses, at least when you break it down to his core. What's the general female counterpart to that?
The princess who needs to be saved. If you really look at their characters, it's clear that neither of them wants to be in their respective roles, though it's much more obvious with Kairi then it is with Sora. It's true that Sora did want to leave the islands and have an adventure, but not under the circumstances that he did. Sure he admires people like Hercules, but when given the chance and finally has all his friends back together, what does he do? Does he venture out into more worlds looking for more people to help alongside his comrades? No, he sits his ass down and relaxes on Destiny Islands. He's excited when he receives a letter sure, but that's because he's under the false pretense that this time, he'll at least be fighting alongside Riku. When Xigbar told him he was a chump who didn't deserve the keyblade and that he should just chill and smoke weed in their dark basement, Sora thought about it! He didn't immediately reject him like you'd expect him to. Throughout KH3, is Sora excited to be on another mission, even if it means starting from the beginning? No, he's tired and worn out a lot of time, and people's comments on him noticeably get to him.
Kairi is also sick and tired of her princess role. She willingly took the opportunity to go train with her kidnapper and was noticeably disappointed when she couldn't go to save Sora. She also took the initiative to train with Aqua. IDK why I'm explaining it when she says it better herself:
The best way I can think of to end my little ramble is to say this:
Riku's story is about changing and moving forward. Sora and Kairi's stories about about changing things back to the way they were or how they should be.

Req by @enhazen -mc lists the pros and cons of being with a vampire. Can it be humorous? It’s not much but I hope you like it!
WC: >900
WARNINGS- mentions of blood, biting, occult imagery, mentions of death
"What's it like?" Chaein had plopped onto your dorm bed, legs dangling off the edge.
"What? Being a Resident's Assistant?" you were mindlessly eating some chips your brother had left in the cupboard of your dorm studio after his brief visit the week prior.
"No," she groaned, rubbing her temples, "I... I mean being with a vampire. You're human- partly. That has to be tough."
"Hmm," you leaned against your wall, thinking over her question. Chaein was an elf, and besides the animosity between vampires and elves stemming from political reasons, they were also just naturally opposed. Elves were one with nature whereas vampires, for all intents and purposes, worked against what should be natural. "I mean, what do you want to know?"
"It's hard, right?"
"It can be. If Yuta sees blood his eyes used to almost immediately go red with hunger. He usually is pretty good with having donated blood so I've never worried about him hurting me or anyone. I trust him.”
"But not every vampire is like that."
"Chaein?" you said the elf's name, crumbling the chips bag and tossing it into the trash before you collapsed on the bed next to her. "This is about that person you're dating that you won't tell me about, right?"
She placed her hands to her face to hide the embarrassment, but her pointed ears turning red confirmed your assessment.
"It was hard, at first. I was always worried about him hearing my heart racing whenever we were near each other. I was also worried about other mythics being able to tell that they could smell me on him."
"Your smell is pretty strong- not in a bad way!" she quickly added. You chuckled before going quiet, still thinking.
"I love Yuta not because of or in spite of him being a vampire. It's just... a part of who he is. I wouldn't want to change anything about him. It's also convenient to have someone with hearing as great as his," you added the last bit as you elbowed the elf, hoping to help lighten the mood.
"He's also just so sensitive and so... curious? He didn't grow up with human culture, so he's just so excited by things I find mundane. How's is your vampire?"
"They aren't my vampire... but... yeah. Their parents didn't let them even watch TV."
You sucked your teeth, feeling that ache. Yuta for a few years when he was younger was able to watch human television and even got to play video games with Johnny and Ten.
"If you like them, and you feel safe with each other, that should be all that matters. Do you feel safe?" Yuta knew for a fact you could take care of yourself, this was never a question. But when you were wrapped in his arms, despite him naturally being cold (which was certainly a pro in the vampires favor in the summer heat), you felt safe and warm at heart.
"Do you?"
"I do. I know Yuta would never hurt me, and we'll always have each others back."
Chaein groaned, "you guys are so cheesy, I can't stand it!"
"Cheesy, yes," you admitted, "but you're asking me for a reason!"
"True... they'll outlive me, though."
"Maybe they will, or maybe they won't. Or you could be a cool elf-vampire hybrid and live forever together."
"I think that sounds like a nightmare," she laughed,"Thanks."
Later that night, you were alone with your boyfriend, detailing the conversation you had with Chaein.
"Do you know the vampire she's talking to?" you asked. You two were playing scrabble and you were trying to figure out the next word to layout on the board.
"I haven't figured it out yet... but... do you have any other pros?" this question made you pause and look up, seeing the cheeky grin the vampire now wore.
"Seriously, Yuta?" you teased, and he nodded eagerly. "Well... since you never sleep, you can always help out with an extra chore or two."
"Hm, that is a good one. Give me a con."
"You want a con?"
"I would like an unbiased list!" he was grinning ear to ear now, and you both had completely abandoned the board game at this point.
"Well, I guess it does take me an extra few minutes to cover up my bite marks when someone," you pinched his cheek, "takes a bite out of me."
"Oh you like it," his cheeks were tinted blue, a vampires blush.
"Yeah yeah. But wanna know the best pro?" at your question he raised an eyebrow, and you moved to your bookcase to take out the book you two always would crack jokes about. "I get to pretend I'm actually Bella Swan."
"You said I was Charlie, though," he pouted, "you can't be Bella. That would be weird."
"You're missing the joke," you were giggling, placing the book back down.
"I take being Charlie Swan, very seriously- this is no joke!" and at this response, you burst out laughing.
Permatag! @nini0620
