hi I'm anon who loved your au mike! whoopsie my memory must be bad i thought they were like 21 (maybe I mixed it up as 19-21 not 16-19) and because in the movies they're adults going in so i assumed lol! and im 17 anyway so i forgot as anon that could seem weird. byler being attractive or in love physically isn't weird though i think it's healthy to just say it's not what you like, as a teen it's nice to figure out what i like and be comfortable navigating it not grossed out. but not to worry as the artist it's fair not to want that and not what I meant for this au with what I said anyway! he's just a good looking silly guy 😎 like that little doodle of will sizzling on the floor on my last ask shows his love for sure LOL so so cute. their love language being touch is also very sweet and comes across in your art and suits the au, it's a nice thought! thnks for this au!

no worries, things happen 😭 they are in fact 16 when the story starts and by the time it ends three years passed (it’s 2.5 I did the math wrong) due to Mike’s extensive training period and the time between their confession and Mike transferring his consciousness to his avatar permanently. Together it’s 3 years but broken down his training took 18 months, the time from the end of training to tsaheylu was a year, and another month or two between that and the end of the story with a few days or weeks sprinkled in between in certain areas I can’t remember but. yeah 3 years? 2.5? Something like that.

With how they’re aged, they’re both essentially 16 1/2 which is why they’re 19, cause after the year and a half of struggle before their confession they both had turned 18 at that point and then the year after that blah blah blah you get the point. anyways.

I myself am 16 (birthday was a little under a week ago writing this) !!! I don’t think it’s weird that they’re attractive or love each other physically (I’ve said on insta a few times how they’re pretty or handsome etc etc), however it’s still not in the sexual sense. I probably took something and interpreted it wrong or something idk, I’m a very anxious person especially when it comes to the gayliens cause of all the aspects mashed together with how they don’t wear a lot and are 18 by the time they confess to one another. theres a lot of people in the byler fandom that are a bit.. wacky.. I guess I could say. so. yeah ❤️

and yeah as the creator of the AU and more than 75% of the artwork from it (as well as still being a minor) I don’t want anything weird coming from it or any people that are gonna take stuff from it and run, if you get what I mean by that. like not trying to see basic information I’ve come up with because I’ve shoved so much lore and story and detail into it. For the love of god I give their accessories and songcord beads meaning. Literally nobody cares about that but I DO!! I CARE!! I care about the little details!

and back to love language !! them having that love language of touch is going to end up stemming from having at least some attraction to each other physically. its a small detail but anxiety still makes me worry about it sometimes, especially in some parts of the storyline like tsaheylu. But even before then, in their confession, after they tell each other, it’s an intimate moment between them. they kiss, they hold each other close. Mike literally ends up on the ground at one point from pulling Will so close (doodles below). They finally both got what they want, each other. it’s still evident then. but even as the story continues and gets to the point of tsaheylu it’s more noticeable? I guess?

There’s literally a reference to the original scene in Avatar (tree of voices scene w/ Jake and Neytiri) that of course, inspired me to make the AU in the first place. However, they’re only small aspects from the scene that I pulled from it instead of it being exactly the same. we all know what happens there. besides them bonding. cough. yeah no that’s not canon in this AU thank god. but anyways, they bond and sigh contentedly and have this moment together. it’s a new experience and probably weird for both of them because they aren’t bonding with an Ikran or direhorse this time, it’s each other now (also I know my avatar lore and how bonding is technically erotic and done during mating but no. not today). They bond, kiss a few times before Mike picks up Will like Jake does to Neytiri, and after a bit they go to bed. literally nothing else (another unfinished visual below).

they’re silly guys and I’m glad people enjoy the AU as much as I do!! instances like this allow me to infodump about stuff and honestly I’m here for it. I just hope no one comes into my asks and says something really weird. I don’t want those weird ass “spicy bylers” on my page. but other than that i love when people ask stuff about the au, it makes me happy!! :) im welcome to explain more stuff for fun or if you’re interested cause it gives me more opportunities to rant haha

Sunrise and Moon Headcanons

These solstitial losers live in my head rent free

The definite newest animatronic to join the line up and probably the last one thought up for the Pizzaplex. The daycare was a last minute idea and they need someone or thing to mange it.

At first they thought of two robots that would work with the light censors. They created two separate A.I. early in development expecting no bumps

In the end it was too expensive to have both so they jammed them into the only body created (Sunrises) and modified it to fit both Night and Day themes

Originally they looked a lot more like the AR designs, less washed out and more definite eyes rather than the pale off white ones Sunrise has or Moon’s fully red ones.

However, being with small kids all the time meant cosmetic repairs happened very often and were costly, so they ultimately simplified

Kids didn’t have a huge issue with them before this

Saw a design that had Sunrise’s spike ray things turn into stars when they went into Moon mode and I like that too much to unsee it.

Sunrise was programmed to be more energetic and protective as they’d be the one really chasing after kids all day, hence the constant movement to keep kids entertained

This also means Sunrise cannot easily calm down and leads to them becoming anxious super fucking easy, which freaks out kids as they get loud and sporadic in a bad way

Moon was originally programmed as a doting sleepyhead with a little bit of sass. Soft spoken instead of raspy and would round up kids to the nap area

The sass meant they got agitated easily but in a more “tsk tsk, no candy for you way” not a “I will hunt you for sport hee hee” way. Something happened that suddenly made them change almost overnight

They are both terrified about messes cause they get scolded by Staff if the daycare isn’t essentially perfect  and worry it will get them scrapped

Are aware of each other but can’t necessary communicate directly. Only one A.I is active at a time otherwise it’d fry their circuits

Them  shifting is not painless as they have sharp moving parts that don’t stop moving just because they are being tucked behind the face mask thing and we know the bots feel pain (Do you hear how they scream)

Has never officially met the other animatronics as they are usually in their green rooms after the show when Moon’s on patrol and Sunrise rarely has left the Daycare

Very lonely as between the kids, the little convos they have with parents during pick up and drop off and maintenance (which they can’t really talk during) they don’t interact with people much

Says words like “golly” or “gosh” or “whoopsie-doodle” unironically

That little stage they have is like their green room and it’s covered in the drawings and crafts the kids make and you’d be surprised how messy it is for a neat freak like them.

If they have a rest mode they don’t use it like, at all

Linked to my Monty headcanon, they’ve only met him and think they are BFFs cause he’s the only one that makes an effort to get into the play area

I love them and hope they get all the glitter glue they want.

Isolation

“So... you wanna tell me why I haven’t seen my best friend in two weeks?”

Daisuke’s only response was the steady thrum of rain against the window.

He sighed heavily, leaning back against Ken’s desk and running a hand through his hair. Ken sat beside him, his knees drawn up to his chest, his face buried in his arms. Chibimon had convince Minomon to give them some space. Knowing the baby dragon he was probably in the kitchen trying to mooch treats from Ken’s mother.

“I just... I’m worried about you, man. Minomon told Chibimon you’re not sleeping. And your mom says you haven’t been eating well.”

Ken flinched at those words. Daisuke leaned over, trying to look into his friend’s face.

“Y-you shouldn’t... they shouldn’t have to worry about me,” Ken whispered.

“But they do! We all do, because we care about you!”

Ken merely shook his head. Daisuke sighed and slumped back against the desk.

“Look, I’m gonna worry either way, so you might as well tell me.”

Patience had never been Daisuke’s strong suit. But he forced himself to wait, and it did, in fact, pay off, when Ken finally started speaking again.

“I-I’ve been... having these... thought, lately. Thoughts about... about before, when...”

Daisuke nodded, even though Ken couldn’t see him. He liked to thing Ken understood, because he seemed to know he didn’t need to clarify what ‘before’ meant.

“I just... Sometimes I feel like nothing is ever going to get better. Like however many times I try, these memories will always come back to haunt me. I thought... I thought I was over this, but I feel just as bad as I did then and that makes me think... Why should I ever bother trying, if nothing’s ever going to change?”

Daisuke leaned forward on his hands and knees. “Is that why you’ve been isolating yourself?”

Ken hugged his knees closer. “This is my problem. You shouldn’t have to deal with it. I don’t... I don’t want to burden you with it.”

“But you’re not a burden, Ken!” Ken looked up and Daisuke’s heart broke to see the tears in his eyes. “You’re my friend, and I want to help you! But nothing really is gonna change if you just lock yourself in your room every day. Like I said, I’m gonna worry either way, whether you like it or not... that’s just a part of friendship, Ken! So just... please, don’t do this to yourself. Let me... let me help you, will you?”

For a long time, Ken only stares up at him. Then slowly, he unfolds, lifting his head and stretching his legs. He reaches out and take the hand Daisuke offers him.

“Okay,” he says. He smiles, a small, trembling thing. It’s a start. “Thank you.”
