Juliette was sitting in class feeling absolutely empty. She looked back over her shoulder at Stevie. Overwhelmed, she knew she needed to leave class. Juliette raised her well manicured hand and the teacher called on her, “May I please be excused?”. The teacher let her out of class and she hurried into the hallway.

After dropping Chase and Gabrielle off, Juliette was alone in the car with Stevie. She was still super wasted. Juliette let on a sleepy smile in the front seat, she was exhausted. "Tonight was crazy" she said drunkenly as she grabbed Stevie's phone from the cupholder, "Hey SIRI" she called into the phone. "Take me to 134 Henderson St." as she looked up and down the girl.

Juliette was at her locker, nervous about seeing Stevie. She had no idea what had happened the other night. Juliette just focused on her locker and getting ready for class. She was wearing a plaid skirt and a cute top, maybe she should’ve worn jeans today just to throw her off and keep herself safe.

Poetry Anthology for Stevie || Juliette
My Downtown Sasquatch,
I have collected a series of poems that make me think of you, and therefore make me smile. As much as I care for you, I haven’t always been the great with saying words that show my affection so here are other people’s words, I am more fond of them than my own. On the sides of these pages is a collection of doodles and drawings that I think illustrate our time together, and how much it means to me. You are the best secret that I never want to keep to myself, and I thank you every day for choosing to be with me. I know I sound like a tired old English Professor, so forgive me, and I will shut up now.
Yours with Love,
Perchance To Dream
“I always have such need to merely talk to you. Even when I have nothing to talk about – with you I just seem to go right ahead and sort of invent it. I invent it for you. Because I never seem to run out of tenderness for you and because I need to feel you near. Excuse the bad writing and excuse the emotional overflow. What I mean to say, perhaps, is that, in a way, I am never empty of you; not for a moment, an instant, a single second.”

Party Bust || Stevie, Juliette, Chase, and Gabrielle
tw: violence, drinking
Chase: Chase got into Stevie's car. "Thank you for getting me, I'm a mess. I can't drive. I've been tracking her location for hours and it says she's at home and I went up there and she left her phone" said the boy as he buckled up.
Stevie: "Dude don't mention it." Stevie pulled out of the Hale's driveway and looked over at him. "Do you know where this party is at? Maybe someone on twitter was talking about it."
Chase: "I have two possible addresses" said Chase sending them both to her over airdrop. "We're just going to have to try both" he replied. He was so stressed out, he ran his hands through his hair and looked out the window, "I mentioned how she should ease into what we used to do. Like I told her that I didn't want to just jump back into things. Do you think she's talking to someone at this party? Or do you think Juliette's getting more attention from guys? And Gabrielle is blowing them off? Because she loves me?" said the boy nervously.
Stevie: Stevie put in the first address into her phone and tried that one. She tried to keep her cool in front of Chase, but seeing him so stress was making her even more stressed. "No way, man. She loves you. There's no way-" she stopped herself as Chase brought up the possibility of Juliette getting attention from guys. It only freaked her out more. "She loves you. It'll be fine." she pulled up to the house. "Alright, let's go."
Chase: Chase hopped out of the car quickly, "Let's stick together. None of that Fred bullshit from the Mystery Gang" said the boy as they entered the party. It was loud, and the girls were no where to be found. Then he saw that blonde head of hair, and she had some guy flirting with her. "Um, you just go get both of them" said Chase, feeling like absolute shit. He should probably go over there and straighten that guy out.
Stevie: Stevie couldn't help but smile at his Fred comment. She stuck with Chase as they looked for the girls and looked over at her friend after seeing some dude flirting with Gabrielle. "Me? No way, man. You got this. That's your girl." she placed her hand on Chase's shoulder. "Make sure he knows that."
Chase: Chase was ready to rumble, she was fucking right. That was his girl. "Hey dipshit, piss off" said Chase walking up to the guy, he was only like half an inch shorter than him. He could take him for sure. "Nah, little man. This girl is wild, I'm convincing her to go out with me. Go simp somewhere else" said the other guy. Chase had had enough, between Griffin and all of this bullshit about other guys trying to date his girlfriend, he was done. Chase decked him in the face. "Fuck that hurt" he said holding his hand in his other hand. The guy came back to tackle him, and they fought on the ground -Chase getting the upperhand- before other guys at the party broke it up.
Gabrielle: GAbrielle was pretty white girl wasted. She was having a conversation with the guy but she really wasn't understanding his flirting efforts as she was on the boarder line of blacking out. Though the fight moved so fast in front of her so she didn't have tome to react much. Once the fight was broke up, she kicked the other guy in the shin. "Don't touch my boyfriend!" She shouted before slipping her hair over her shoulder
Stevie: Stevie smiled proudly at Chase but quickly panicked the moment the other guy tackled him. She tried to help as much as she could, but once Gabrielle came in to kick the guy in the shin, Stevie held out her hands to make sure the girl wouldn't lose balance. "Damn, you okay?" she asked as she helped Chase get up. "You were doing good." she said, referring to the fight, in hopes that it would boosts his confidence a bit. He deserved that.(edited)
Chase: Chase brushed himself off. "I think I kinda kicked his ass" he said, his hand hurting so bad. "Don't tell me otherwise, I don't need to know" Chase added with a laugh to Stevie. "Now Gabrielle, what the hell? Who was that?" said Chase, giving her a crazed look.
Juliette: "STEEEEEVIEEEEE" said Juliette running over to her, "Did you see that fight? That was crazy! I know that guy!" said the girl in a drunken stupor.
Gabrielle: GAbrielle shrugged. "I really wish I knew." She said with a laugh. "He kept just going on an on and on about his football trophies. Like yawn." She said as she threw her arms around Chase. "Thanks for making him shut up." She said with a smile. "Jules!"
Stevie: Stevie nodded her head, "Totally kicked ass." she said to Chase before her attention was drawn to Juliette. "Hey, yeah that shit was pretty wild." she asked with a small smile. She wasn't even sure if the girl wanted to see her at this point, but she was just glad she found Juliette. "You doing okay?"
Juliette: "Brielle! Stevie's here! And Chase!" she said with big excited eyes and a huge smile. She was so happy, and so very very drunk.
Chase: "Let's get the two of you home" said Chase, giving Gabrielle a kiss on the cheek. "And you are getting a lesson about how you're not letting other boys flirt with you when you help me ice my hand" said the boy to his girlfriend. There was no way that was happening tonight though, she was gonezo.
Gabrielle: "Right!" Gabi said looking at Juliette. "They came for us." She said excited to see them both. "Maybe later." Gabrielle said with a laugh as she held onto him. "Will you carry me." She added in, giving a puppy face.
Chase: Chase turned around so she could jump on his back, "Cmon" he said reluctantly, he was happy to have her safe and sound.
Stevie: Stevie noticed Chase carry Gabrielle, and what kind of person would Stevie be if she made Juliette walk? "Would you like to get carried too?" she asked, hoping the girl would say yes. No reason. Just trying to be nice.
Juliette: Juliette's eyes lit up, "ooooOooooh yes please" she said hopping on the girls back and giving her a big ole smooch on the cheek. "You're the best! I can't believe you've been at the party the whole time!" she said, stupidly.
Gabrielle: Gabrielle hopped onto Chases back, wrapping her legs around his waist and she rested her head on his shoulder. "What are we going to do now babe?"
Stevie: Stevie couldn't hold back her smile as Juliette kissed her cheek. "Crazy right? The universe just keeps putting us together." she teased her before walking out of the house. "Want me to drop you guys off first?" she asked Chase.
Chase: "Yeah, just the guest house parking area" said Chase, "Where you picked me up". He was ready to get this girl into bed and some pjs. Parenting never stops.
Juliette: "You guys came together?" said Juliette, trying to put it together, "Are you two friends?" she asked, "wait are you just here for us?"
Gabrielle: "Am I sleeping over?" Gabi questioned. She hoped he would say yes. "I didn't know you guys were friends." Gabrielle said as she held on tight to him, though, she didn't always listen about all of his friends
Stevie: "Yeah, we're pretty cool with each other." Stevie nodded, not realizing that either one of the girls knew her and Chase were friends. "We just wanted to make sure you both were okay." she answered Juliette as she got to Gabrielle and Chase's place.
Chase: "Yeah we've been friends pretty much all year, it's a group chat thing don't worry about it" said Chase, realizing he'd never mentioned it. "Alright babe, let's get you inside" said the boy opening up the car door for her.

hold me close and hold me fast || juliette and stevie
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: chalice wedding // june 21st 2021.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: juliette x stevie.
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒: none.
𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒: juliette has a romantic surprised on a stressful day.
Juliette arrived at the wedding separately from Stevie, but approached her before the ceremony. "Look at you!!" she said quietly with a big smile on her face. To say Juliette was anxious about today was an understatement. Her parents would be here, but she wasn't sure how ready she was to invite them to see her and Stevie together in public. It wasn't insecurity about Stevie, it would be about how her parents acted. "You look so beautiful" said Juliette, blushing at how beautiful the other girl was, "save me a dance later?" she asked, "I assume you're sitting up front with your family". Juliette didn't want to intrude. It was Stevie's cousins wedding after all. "I'm going to be running around back for Katie I'm sure of it" she distracted, not wanting to acknowledge why she didn't want to sit with Stevie exactly. It was just up front and all eyes would hopefully be on the bride, but she didn't want to risk her family ruining this nice event. That would be so embarrassing she wouldn't be able to function. She would definitely have to dig in Katie's bag for her emergency anxiety meds.
To say Stevie was stressed was an understatement. Stevie Summers doesn't do stressed, but the past week at home had just been a little too much. Her parents always got weird when it came to the rest of the family, but they were able to keep a nice distance from them at all times. Because of this wedding, however, things have been more tense than usual. Her parents weren't going to miss Charlie's wedding, no matter how much they wanted to. They were vaguely aware that he was the only cousin Stevie was close to, and he was kind enough to invite them. It took a lot of convincing, but Stevie somehow got them to agree. It's not that her parents didn't like Charlie, they just really didn't like anyone else in the family, and it was so painfully obvious in the rehearsal dinner. Having everyone together was simply a bad idea. She didn't know how she was going to get through this day, but as always, she kept all those negative emotions bottled up, and slapped a smile on her face. Stevie directed her attention towards Juliette once she heard her voice, and for a moment, her worries vanished. "Look at me? Look at you, Hastings. No offense to the bride, but you just might be the most gorgeous girl here." Juliette always looked nice, but damn, she was absolutely stunning right now. "Of course." she nodded. Stevie wanted to have a nice night tonight, and she hoped being around Juliette would help with that. But she was aware that the girl's parents were here. Juliette had mentioned that her parents, or at least her mom, was a lot more accepting about everything, so there was some hope here for Stevie. She finally got her girl back, sort of, she didn't want to her lose her again. "Yeah ... yeah, I'm sure she's going through it right now." Stevie obviously wanted to sit with Juliette, but it just didn't seem like that was going to be realistic. "I'll see you after the ceremony?" she asked, trying her best to keep the smile on her face.
Juliette laughed nervously when Stevie said she was even more beautiful than the bride, "I think we both know that Alice Altman is about to wow people in a way that has never been done before" said Juliette, blushing a little still. She could see that she had let Stevie down, but it was for the best. Juliette knew she needed to stop making choices like this for them, but she didn't want to bog Stevie down with all this stress that was going on for her. Juliette liked her perfect little world with Stevie separate from all of this bullshit. "Yes, of course" said Juliette giving her favorite person in the world a small touch on the shoulder, squeezing a little. But it wasn't like she was comfortable enough to give her a kiss. She could feel her parents presence on the property. -time jump- Juliette texted Stevie after a horrible dinner of eating at the same table as her parents. Things had started going well with the two of them far after the seating charts were already done. perchancetodream: meet me at the gazebo out back Katie had felt so guilty about making Juliette sit with her family for dinner that she had helped make a little special space for the two of them. You could hear the music coming from the party as Juliette stood in the middle of the gazebo. This is where they had planned to meet back in the day. When Juliette was finally going to tell her the truth. Then everything with Griffin happened, so she couldn't even get herself out of bed. When she saw Stevie approaching she walked down and took her by both hands, walking backwards. "May I have this dance?" she asked as they walked up to the gazebo.
Stevie looked at her phone to see the text Juliette gave her and immediately headed over there. To no surprise, dinner sucked. There were definite pros and cons to being seated at a different table from the rest of the family. She didn't have to hear her cousin's remarks or deal with the stupid looks from her grandparents, but it made her feel so unwelcome. Stevie didn't care if her parents had issues with the family, but she hated being in the center of it all. She was the literal reason for all these problems. The sight of Juliette inside the lit up gazebo was breathtaking. It felt like a scene straight out of a movie. Stevie took hold of the girl's hands and nodded, "Of course." she said as they made their way to the center of the gazebo. She then placed one of her hands on the small of Juliette's back and started to slowly sway side to side. "You got this all set up for me? I'm honored." she smiled down at Juliette before looking around the gazebo. "So, how has your night been so far?" Stevie had to assume things weren't going great if they had to dance privately. She hoped Juliette's parents weren't giving her a hard time tonight. It made her a bit nervous to be alone with her right now, she couldn't imagine what would happen if her parents found her out here with Stevie.
Juliette smiled softly and put her head on Stevie's chest as they danced. Her ring shining on her hand as it held Stevie's. "It's an apology from Katie. She's on the no drama task force. But I saw her running around with Nathaniel Langston earlier?" said Juliette letting a small smile appear on her face. "That's a nice tall man for Katie. He does like business stuff? I'm not sure, but that's not what this is about. I'm pretty sure he got everything finalized out here is what I'm saying" said the girl, distracting from talking about anything real. It was so hard with both of their family stuff coming in and effecting their nights. This all could have been so nice, but of course there was baggage. There was always baggage in this town. "It's not been ... great. But I know what would make me feel a lot better" she said as she took a deep breath. She had asked the band to play La Vie en Rose in 10 minutes from when she came out here, so it began to play. She stopped dancing and took both of Stevie's hands. "I love you so much, and I know I've been a huge problem in this relationship. From stuff that was out of my control, to things that were very much in my control. But if you're willing, I would love to be able to call you my girlfriend again. In public. All the time. Holding your hand. Kissing in the park. I want all of it. Good days and bad days" said Juliette. She took another deep breath, praying that the response was yes.
Stevie smiled to herself as Juliette began to talk about Katie, "Oh shit, a Langston? Look at her go. He seems like a cool dude." Stevie stayed on sus mode, but that was when people gave her a reason to be, and almost every time, she was right about her suspicions. Most people were cool in Stevie's book anyways, and if Katie was into him, he had to be great. "I was kind of excited for us to be her wingwomen, but it seems like she's got things under control." Though Stevie assumed that Juliette was having just as much of a shitty time as her, it still sucked to hear it. She immediately turned her head in the direction where the music was coming from, a big smile on her face formed as she heard La Vie en Rose play. One of the many songs that reminded her of Juliette. Stevie then gently squeezed the girl's hands and listened to her speak. She had asked Juliette to be her girlfriend the first time, and if their situation was different, she probably would have done it again. But this time, it was out of her control. This was Juliette's choice. Yes, they've had issues along the way, and there were things they still needed to work through, but sometimes you just had to take a chance and give things another go, and this was one of those times. Juliette Hastings was worth it. Stevie pulled her in close and kissed her softly on the lips. "I love you too." she said after stepping back to look at Juliette. "I'd love to be your girlfriend again. I just don't want to make things difficult for you and your family anymore. If we need to give this more time, I'm willing to do that." The wait would hurt, but Juliette's happiness and safety came first. She couldn't risk the girl's parents doing something else because of this relationship. "We could always talk to them this time, but you know them more than me. It's your call."
"Katie is worse at dating than I am, so she might still need some parent trap style assistance" said Juliette with a small laugh. Proclaiming her love to Stevie had been rehearsed but she didn't say anything that she had been planning, the gist got across though. Juliette was better with her words in front of a computer or a notebook. That had always been true. Juliette looked at Stevie firmly and confidently, "I don't want time. I don't want to talk to them. They don't talk to me much. I don't owe them anything, my grandparents are in charge of all my finances when it comes down to it. I've thought it through and they can officially ... fuck off" said Juliette, letting the swear come out. It wasn't any kind of religious thing or anything, and honestly she wasn't sure why she chose not to swear. Part of her felt like it was weird coming out of her form. Like she was too delicate for language. It just didn't suit her. She broke into a smile at the word though. Knowing that Stevie would love it. "I don't want to make this wedding about us though. That's my only boundary. But after tonight? We're going to be all over town, just making out like crazy" she joked. Juliette had never been one for PDA anyways. A very private individual, not in the business of being very public. But it would be nice to hold Stevie's hand or get a temple kiss while they were having ice cream. The cute things she was definitely okay with.
Stevie raised a brow and let out a laugh once she heard Juliette curse. It wasn't everyday she got to hear the girl say that, but it was always enjoyable. "Goddamnit, Hastings. I see I'm already a bad influence on you." she joked. If Juliette didn't want to tell her parents anything, then so be it. Stevie hoped they'd eventually come around, but it wasn't fair for Juliette to put her life on hold for others. Whatever her girlfriend wanted to do, Stevie would support. Her girlfriend. It put a smile on her face just thinking about it. "But, I mean, they can definitely fuck off." she nodded. "Yeah, I'd feel bad if we took the spotlight off of Charlie and Alice and officially became the hottest couple at this event. Alice and Katie won't let us live that down." Stevie was simply trying to make light of the situation, but one private night wasn't going to hurt her. She had told herself that she would wait as long as it took for Juliette and she meant that. Now all she had to wait was one day, that's it. "We could stay here for a little, dance a bit, and then head back out to everyone?" she suggested, she just wanted one more dance with the girl.
"It would be very unfortunate to steal that title away from them on their big day. Tomorrow though? They become old news" said Juliette as she hugged Stevie tightly. Like she was never going to let go. And to a certain extent, she wasn't going to. At least not emotionally. Stevie suggested dancing some more out here, "I would love to. I actually had a surprise dance practice with this nice girl I met in the studio. I went to go brush up on some stuff" said Juliette, "her name is Laney. I think you're gonna like her. She needs friends, so maybe we should invite her to your next show". Juliette had surprised herself with wanting to make friends, but being back with Stevie had her confident again. Juliette smiled, "I can lead" she said with a little wink, "I mean I am the top in this relationship. Speaking of, dibs on top it's just me now. I'm the pants wearing heteronormative butch girlfriend. Nothing you can do to stop me" Juliette said as a smirk broke into a strong smile and a hearty laugh. She even let out a snort.
"Those poor souls don't know what's coming." Stevie said before wrapping her arms around Juliette just as tight. They had been at a good place for a little bit now, but nothing compared to actually having Juliette as her girlfriend. Labels did't always matter, but this one felt nice. Now she didn't just have to wear her J necklace around her ankle like she was in this moment, now she could wear it proudly around her neck at all times. She smiled once Juliette brought up a friend of hers, she was glad that she was meeting new people. Stevie didn't want her to regret switching over to Brindleton. "I'm always down to meet new people, and she could meet the rest of the band too, if she doesn't know them yet. It'll be great." Stevie tried holding a serious face, but it was just so hard when Juliette started calling herself a top. She broke out into laughter along with her girlfriend, and probably laughed even harder when she heard her snort, "You're such an adorable bottom, this is why we work so well." she said before giving the girl a kiss.
"Only I'm allowed to laugh at me! Summers!!!" Juliette whined as she gave her a little smack on the arm. Stevie followed it up with a kiss, so she guessed it wasn't too bad to be a bottom. "I am serious about the fact that I can lead one dance. I did practice" she said as they got into position. "If you remember I used to do cotillion and pageants so this is right up my alley" she said as she guided Stevie around the gazebo. Her eyes were shining, "we really are soulmates, you know. I've done a lot of reading up on them, and the fact that we're always finding each other in one way or another is pretty by the book" said the girl, "you are my fairytale, that is for certain. We slay dragons tomorrow, but today is just about us". Juliette was very content in their little world, but she knew for everything to be real they needed to be more than that. To be public, to enjoy life. "Also, if you think you're sleeping at home tonight you are wrong. My tiny house is almost finished but everything works. So that's where we are going. Plus my book is there, and I've got separation anxiety" said the girl, looking at just how beautiful the other girl was. How had she gotten so lucky. Thank god for degrassi and local bands.
"How could I forget the pageant pictures? They're some of my favorites." Stevie got into position and began dancing with Juliette again. As lame as it may be, she got goosebumps when the girl said they were soulmates. It was definitely something she had thought of many times before. It seemed like wherever life took them, they were always meant to cross each other's paths. They lived in a rather small town and never talked in person, yet fate made sure they still met each other. If it wasn't going to be in person, it would be online. Stevie thought she had lost Juliette for good once she got sent to boarding school, and a couple years later, she ended up transferring to her college. Their love was written in the stars. She flashed her teeth as she smiled widely at her girlfriend. "Soulmates, huh? You might be right. We must have been lovers in another life, destined to find each other in every life afterwards." She raised her brows dramatically as Juliette mentioned her tiny house, "Woah, we're on day one of our new relationship and you're already trying to get me to spend the night. If you want sex, all you have to do is ask." she teased the girl. "But I have been excited to see this tiny house, so I can't say no to that." They were back where they belonged, finally.
Juliette leaned into Stevie a little and whispered in her ear, "in the past life, I was the top" she said before letting her eyes crinkle as she smiled innocently. Juliette loved the joke about her being a top. It wasn't anything she was insecure about, she loved her tall and powerful lady. Juliette also just liked being taken care of. She continued to dance with her girlfriend, turning her out to spin her as the girl mentioned sex. "Oh I am most definitely inviting you over for sex and sex alone. Not because I wanted to read while you sat there" said Juliette sarcastically. The song ended and Juliette kissed Stevie's hand, "I mean, we are about to spend a lot of nights apart at camp" she said with a little frown, "I want to get my time in, plus I haven't had sex since we last had sex ... back in high school ... which is kind of embarrassing now that I'm saying it out loud" she admitted as her face grew red.
"If that's what helps you sleep at night, then we can stick with that." Stevie looked down at her girlfriend with a smile, holding in her laugh. The top jokes about Juliette being a top would never get old. She held onto the girl's hand and dipped a little as she was spun around. "You know if sex with you wasn't so amazing, I'd be really offended." she said playfully. The idea of them not having as many nights together because of camp hadn't really dawned on her until now. That ... kind of fucking sucked, but at least they had tonight. Stevie shook her head and cupped the sides of Juliette's face to kiss her quickly, "Oh come on, there's nothing embarrassing about that. Sex is just sex. You do it, you don't, who cares?" she paused as she thought about her comment for a moment. "Well sex can be meaningful too, which is great, but ya know what I mean." she chuckled. "And after tonight, you won't have to say your last time was in high school."
Stevie was doing a good job distracting Juliette, but she still heard the whole sex is just sex thing. She tried her best to not think about how many people Stevie had been with since they had broken up, but the thoughts were pouring in. "Yeah, yeah of course. I gotcha" said Juliette, knowing it was her own insecurities getting to her. But at the same time ... he insecurities were getting to her. "I will be shouting it in town square tomorrow" she giggled as she pulled Stevie into a kiss. "Cmon lets go sit and eat cake while we guess what people's conversations sound like from across the event" said Juliette after the kiss broke. This is what happiness felt like. She cold love Stevie so freely, it was better than any book she's ever read. //END

i’ve been waiting for you || juliette and stevie
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: juliette’s dorm room // spring 2021.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: juliette x stevie.
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒: none.
𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒: juliette and stevie rekindle their love.
Juliette quickly tidied up her side of the room and got the blankets out and started assembling a fort. She didn't want Stevie to have to do anything while she was here, just enjoy the fort and spend time with Juliette. Oh to spend time with Stevie, it was going to be so great. She got the snacks and her laptop. Everything was all set. All she needed was Stevie. Stevie Summers in her room. What a world to live in, to be Juliette Hastings in. It had been made apparent that things had cooled off between Stevie and Juniper, so if there was a time for a move ... today was the day. There were butterflies in her stomach. Juliette wondered if Stevie would even consider liking her again after everything they had been through. But for now, she could focus on just being her friend.
Stevie was feeling those nerves kick in again, just like before when she saw Juliette at Brindleton for the first time. It was a bit confusing, she couldn't deny how happy she was that Juliette was actually near her again, but the memory of losing her was constantly being brought to the surface. It crushed her. It wasn't until this semester that she was actually starting to accept everything and move on, but here she was, back in her life. It felt like a punch to the gut, having that constant reminder now. She tried to keep her mind off of it though, all she wanted was to have a nice time with Juliette. Stevie ended up getting them some smoothies, and luckily she had still remembered the girl's favorite order. After she knocked on the door and was let into the dorm room, Stevie looked at her with a warm smile. She missed her so much, just seeing her in person still felt unreal. "One smoothie for Juliette Hastings, I think I got the order right. If I didn't we can switch. No biggie."
Juliette looked up at the girl and flashed that Hastings smile, "Thanks Summers" she said as she took a sip. "Raspberry, you still got it" she said as she took another sip. She was so nervous, she was glad to have something to occupy her hands so she didn't talk with them too much. Juliette pulled the sheet back for Stevie, "after you" she said, curtseying a little. She was such a dork, in that moment Juliette really hated herself. Having Stevie in her room was so intimidating. She had no idea how she had permitted this to happen, but then again how could she not? How could she not be in the same room as Stevie at all times? Being around her was enough. Sometimes at night Juliette thought about how Stevie and her hadn't even hugged yet. She would think about how much she wanted just a simple hug. Then everything would be alright. "I'm not too shabby at fort building if I do say so myself" she said as she got in after her.
Stevie let out a sigh and placed her hand over her heart, as if she was received she got Juliette's order right, but there was no actual doubt in her mind. Of course she remembered, she always remembered small things about the people she cared for. Her parents always said the little details about people were the most special, so Stevie naturally picked up on those. Juliette had been, without a doubt, one of the people she cared for the most. She treasured every part of what made her Juliette. "Thank you very much." she said with a smile as she bowed a little at the girl. "No, this is great. Those wilderness skills of yours are really coming in handy." Stevie made herself comfortable in the fort and patted the space next to her for Juliette. "I should have brought my guitar. We could have put up on of those fire places on the screen and sing Kumbaya together." It was joke, but it made her think about the two actually singing together. What a dream. She missed hearing Juliette singing, it gave her goosebumps.
Juliette smiled when Stevie patted for her to sit next to her, her heart definitely skipped a beat. "I do love a fake fireplace" she said, laughing a little. A part of her wished Stevie did bring her guitar, "I mean I'm more into your original music, but Kumbaya works for me". Juliette took a sip of her smoothie and reached to grab the box of snacks and opened it up. "Take anything you'd like. My room is your room is Chanel's room" Juliette said as she opened up the oreos. It was definitely a comfort instinct, not that she was uncomfortable. If anything she was too comfortable around Stevie, which in turn made her mildly nervous. She didn't want to say the wrong thing or act the wrong way and things not go well. "If you want I can put on Reign or Degrassi?" she suggested. Just something they could talk over, they had both seen it all so many times before.
It was always nice to hear someone say that they liked Stevie's music, it was some of her most treasured work. But hearing the compliments from Juliette was something else. She had learned to not make her music for others, but to make it for herself. To just create what she wanted to create, but knowing that someone as special as Juliette liked it, meant the world to her. "Maybe we can arrange something, as long as I can hear you play the piano. You still play?" she asked. Stevie loved when Juliette used to send her videos of her playing the piano, of course her favorite being the cover she did of La Vie En Rose, she even put it in the album she made Juliette. That particular video meant a lot to her, it was the first time she had heard perchancetodream's voice. It was crazy to think back on those times and realize how much had happened in such a short time. How perfect her life seemed when they got together and how it all came crashing down in a matter of months. Sitting with Juliette and eating snacks felt like old times, but there was a sense of discomfort. Normally she'd snack away, but she almost felt hesitant to eat anything, as if she was going over a person's house for the first time. Stevie eventually picked out some chips as she thought about which show to play, "Let's go with Reign this time. For the feather scene of course."
Juliette smiled, she honestly hadn't played much music in her time in boarding school. But she had brought her keyboard to college this time, "it's stored in the closet, but yeah it's here. We can definitely play together soon" she said, hoping this would be the first of many times she would get to see Stevie before summer began. Being in school was just easier. Singing with Stevie made her think back on how anxious she was to send that video to her before they had met. Her heart was going a mile a minute in that moment. But it was all worth it for the times she got to hear Stevie sing. It made her think of that amazing spring break. How that was the last time she had been happy and with everyone she cared about, it made her feel stupid for hiding away when she got here. Too paranoid about looking crazy for transferring to Stevie's school, when she hadn't even known at all. How they could have been having days like this all the time ... but Juliette had stopped all of it. The thoughts made her sad, but she kept a soft smile on her face as she pulled up the first episode of Reign on her laptop. "I mean, I do live for the feather scene" she said with a laugh, "that and Mary getting reunited with her girls".
"Sweet." Stevie kept her cool composure, but she couldn't help but feel all giddy inside as Juliette agreed to them playing music together. Playing music together could be some real intense, intimate shit, especially if the person she was playing with was the girl sitting next to her. Music was the window to the soul, after all. Stevie knew she couldn't get ahead of herself though, she felt lucky enough that Juliette was hanging out with her at all. It wouldn't be surprising if she didn't want anything to do with her. Most times, Stevie would put the blame on herself for Juliette being sent to boarding school, and when she was especially harsh on herself, she'd convince herself that Juliette had resented Stevie because of it as well. It's not like the girl was just taken away from her, she was separated from all her friends and her family too. She was at least glad that Juliette was able to reconnect with everyone once again, and met someone while she was away. "Speaking of reuniting with the girls, have you? Gabrielle and Marina go here too, you seen them yet?"
Juliette blushed a little when Stevie said sweet, it just reminded her of old times. Being around her honestly made her blush. She smiled at the mention of her friends, "it has been so amazing to be back with them. Florence is amazing, but I forgot what it was like to be around Marina and Gabrielle ... and Jonah. To be understood like that in different ways. I always know who to go to to get the answer I want to hear" she said, rambling a little. She realized how bad that sounded, "that was the most Hastings answer to a question that has ever come out of my mouth. What on earth is wrong with me? Who am I? Amelia? God forbid" Juliette added, putting her hand over her mouth to stifle a laugh. "I promise I'm not some grand puppet master. I more meant that when I'm seeking specific kinds of comfort I know who has the best answers. Like Gabrielle wants to go out on the town. Jonah wants to stay in and not talk too much. Marina wants to stay in and talk about it and maybe do out on the town activities from the comfort of a dorm room. Florence wants to talk it out and distract me. Wow, I am rambling" she said, in a moment of lucidity amidst her monologue.
Stevie raised her brows at Juliette when she listened to the first part of her answer, but as the girl continued to ramble, a smile slowly formed. "Nah I get it, everyone's different so you get different experiences when you're with them." she nodded her head as she spoke. "Like when Jesse, Wren, Chase, Jonah, and I hang out together, it's fun. Then hanging out with them individually is a little different depending on the guy. Still fun, obviously. Same if I wanna spend some time with June or Sailor. Different atmosphere, but all good." she chuckled. "I haven't actually talked Florence though, beyond the times I saw her when we facetimed before. I know I've seen her around a bit, but maybe I should get to know her better." Stevie had honestly kept her distance around the blonde because she knew she was Juliette's friend. It just seemed like it would be awkward. "If she's down, of course." she added in casually. There was no telling if Florence really wanted to chat with Stevie.
Juliette felt her breath catch when Stevie mentioned June. She wondered what had actually happened, how things had changed. It didn't seem like Stevie was busy right now, but Juliette knew it wasn't her place to pry about where the two were at. All she knew is that Stevie was choosing to spend time with Juliette even though Juliette was awful. Juliette felt so guilty about everything, she wanted to break down. But she was so happy that things were surface and okay in these moments, how they could sit together like it was still Junior year and nothing had ever gone wrong. She came back to reality when Stevie mentioned Florence, "I'm sure she would love to spend time with you in person. She knows you already" said the girl. Juliette touched Stevie's hand, "only good things too" she said with a light squeeze before putting her hands back into her own lap.
Once Juliette grabbed her hand, Stevie could feel her heart skip a beat. In that moment, that small gesture made her happier than ever, but it didn't take too long for the feeling to fade. Did that actually mean something or did Juliette do that without really thinking about it? She was the one that broke Stevie's heart. She made the choice to end what they had, surely it meant nothing. Even if there was some slim chance that it did, Stevie wasn't sure what to make of that. Here she was, getting excited over something like touching the girl's hand after all this time. After all the pain she's experienced. Stevie felt like a mess of emotions. "Well now that the semester is wrapping up, I bet we can all figure something fun out. Not sure if she's a huge party person, but we can always set up some kind of casual get together. Nothing too intense."
Touching Stevie's hand meant everything to Juliette, and she wished she hadn't moved her hand back into her own lap. But she hadn't wanted to be pushy, or act like she wasn't also interested in Stevie's friendship. Juliette wanted to be in Stevie's life more than anything, especially since it was her fault that she was out of it. God, it was all her fault. "Yeah, she's not really ... but I'm sure she would be down to get coffee or something" said Juliette, "and hey at least you and I will be spending plenty of time together this summer. You're working camp again ... right?" Juliette was nervous that Stevie might not be, that she might have signed herself up to work all summer without Stevie also being on staff. It wasn't a deal breaker for her, she wanted to do it. She wanted the summer she never got. It was selfish, but she felt like she needed to be around Stevie as much as possible now they were in the same universe again.
"I'm always up for that." Stevie loved parties, it was a nice way to be around the people she loved and just forget about whatever bullshit was going on in their lives. But she needed balance in her life. For every party, there was always a nice cool down. The girl enjoyed her peace. As Juliette mentioned working camp for the summer, Stevie smiled and nodded. She didn't go to summer camp every single summer, mainly because her parents had plans for the family, but she did have some great memories. It was just as fun to work as one of the counselors because the people she liked were usually there, except Cody. It was a way for everyone to have a good time together without all the issues the parents and town brought. "Yeah, I am. I heard a lot of people are this summer." she answered happily. "Can't wait to see you in full Bear Grylls mode. What a fuckin' treat for me."
"I'm sure I'll see you at a party sometime soon also. Between Marina and Gabrielle, I'm sure there are plenty of parties in my future" said Juliette with an excited smile on her face. She remembered all the fun she would have with Stevie at parties, those were truly the good old days. "I have a hankering to get rid of my perfect manicure and build some fires" said the girl with a little laugh, "not sure if I still have it in me to go full Bear Grylls, but maybe as a treat for you". Juliette would honestly do anything for Stevie. These moments were making that clearer than ever. She looked over at Stevie, "I'm really happy to be back" she said quietly, a soft smile on her face. She wanted Stevie to know that this was good, that she wanted to be here. That she wanted to be here with her.
Stevie was instantly reminded of all the times her and Juliette partied together. She'd say she was surprised by how much of lightweight Juliette was back in the day, but she wasn't. It was still amusing though. "Oh you know me, I'm always down for a party. Especially after this stressful ass semester." she said with a smile. She then gasped dramatically, "Not your perfectly shaped and painted nails." she teased her. There was just some old discord messages of theirs that stuck with Stevie. "We could build some fires during the day and maybe get the gang back together to hang during the night. It could be fun." Stevie always had a fun time when her and Juliette's friend groups merged. Once the other girl mentioned how happy she was to be back, Stevie nodded, "I'm happy too." she admitted. "It's nice to see you around again."
Juliette was always calmed by the fact that her and Stevie's friend groups had gotten along so easily. Whenever Juliette felt insecure about liking her, she thought about how all of their friends had slowly gotten together. How it was like they were always meant to be together, and the people around them just bonded. She was surprised they didn't cross paths sooner, but that was on Juliette's unwillingness to meet people that weren't already her friends. "That sounds like the most fun to me. Almost like operation spring break out. That might have been one of the best parties I have ever been to. Not a tear in the house" said the girl with a small laugh. That weekend was special for other reasons too, reasons for just between the two of them. She wondered if Stevie ever found that extra letter she had put in the back of the journal. Juliette put her head onto Stevie's shoulder and fiddled with her ring, "I would have given anything to watch tv with you these last two years" she said softly, almost a whisper.
"Fuck yeah, that was the best." Stevie said with excitement. The spring break they all spent together was definitely a memory she would keep with her forever, for more than one reason. Everything about it was fun. No one was having any issues with each other, it just was perfect. "Who would've thought everyone would mesh the way we all did? I'm sure the boys will definitely be down for that." There was the glaring issue that pretty much everyone that was dating someone in this huge group were now broken up ... but fuck it. Hanging out all together might help that problem, and if it didn't, the night would still be eventful at least. Without thinking, Stevie gently leaned her head on Juliette's once Juliette's head was on her shoulder. It just felt right to be like this, but she stayed quiet for a second. "Yeah? I honestly didn't think I was on your radar much these past few years." she responded just as quietly. The last two years sucked, it wasn't until this semester where Stevie started to pick herself back up. She never really thought her and Juliette would ever speak again once they broke up.
It hurt to hear that. Yes it had been Juliette's call that broke them up. She's the one who said the word, and cut all communication. "Just because I didn't know what you were doing on where you were doesn't mean I wasn't thinking about you nonstop" she said, tears coming to her eyes. She wasn't crying, but the tears were threatening her hardcore. Juliette kept moving her ring up and down her finger, nervous to be talking about this. It needed to be talked about. It was always going to be the elephant in the room. That she had called it. When she was never supposed to. But she felt like she was going to be holding Stevie back. That they were both in so much pain that it wasn't worth it. They weren't going to be able to communicate even online for three months while she was in the woods, it would have killed her. So she just stopped everything. It was a gut reaction and not the best choice, but it was a necessary evil at the time. It goes without saying, Juliette no longer felt that way.
Stevie didn't think it would hurt so much to hear that Juliette was thinking of her nonstop. She should have been happy about that, but it only made her think about how these past two years were completely wasted. Stevie was thinking about Juliette nonstop too. They could have just been together then. Of course it wasn't that simple though. Juliette would have been gone for months and they wouldn't have been able to speak to each other at all. Talking strictly over discord was never an issue for Stevie, that's how their friendship started anyways. Only talking online. Not talking at all though? That was going to be difficult, but Stevie wanted to at least try. No matter how hard things would get, she would do anything to be with Juliette. "Then what was the point?" she asked without thinking. It wasn't something she wanted to bring up. They were having a good time today, but there was no going back. "Why do it?" she asked, referring to the break up. "Cause if I did something- if something happened, you could tell me. I could take it." Stevie could feel the tears welling up, she felt so stupid. So desperate for an answer.
Hearing Stevie's voice sound even a little upset pushed her over the edge and she could feel her tears falling. "What? No!" she said quietly and desperately, "I would never do anything like that. Stevie I haven't even ... I haven't even been with anybody at all" Juliette clarified. Her heart was hurting, "I just didn't want to hold you back from being happy at school without me. Your life didn't have to change much, and I felt like I was making you hold onto me. We weren't going to be able to communicate for months, and it hurt so badly that I needed it to stop and that was the only way I knew how to." Juliette was so nervous right now, she felt like any response wasn't good enough, "I thought you would be better off without me". That wasn't for Juliette to decide though.
Stevie didn't allow herself to think that the reason was simply because of the distance and no way for communication, she stressed herself out with all kind of different scenarios. Juliette finding someone else, or Juliette realizing her worth and figuring out that she could do so much better than Stevie. It always came back around to Stevie feeling like she wasn't good enough. Her first girlfriend cheated on her, then her next barely paid attention to her. If she couldn't keep those two girls happy, there was no way she could keep Juliette Hastings. "You never made me do anything. I wanted to hold onto you." her voice cracked as she spoke. If it wasn't hard enough to keep her tears in, seeing Juliette cry made it impossible. "Come on, we both know that's not true. I'm fucking lucky I even got the chance to be with you." I don't match up, I don't even come close. she kept those thoughts to herself.
Juliette's heart was aching. She thought heart break was saying goodbye, but it was looking more and more like a get out of jail free card. She never had to see Stevie moving on, but she also didn't have to see any of the grieving of their relationship. "You're lucky? You?" said Juliette as a small smile broke onto her face through the tears, "Stevie Summers you were never the lucky one." Juliette took one of Stevie's hands into both of hers, "I have been and always will be the lucky one that you chose to spend time with me. You are free and creative and so so loving. Not to mention, talented and beautiful" Juliette took a deep breath, "holding you back was killing me, because it was my fault that I got sent away. It was my secrets that made our relationship hard when it was the easiest thing in the world. Loving you was the easiest and most simple thing ever, and I went and I made it difficult for everybody involved. What I'm trying to say is I was lucky, like beyond lucky to even catch your eye"
The tears didn't stop falling down Stevie's face as Juliette spoke, mainly because it was hard to hear what was being said. Stevie was really proud of the progress she made with herself, the confidence she had built up, but relationships always broke that down. There was this constant worry that she wasn't good enough, and no matter how hard she'd try, things would always end up bad. To hear that she was creative and loving, talented and beautiful should have felt nice, especially to hear it from Juliette. But her mind automatically shut all of it down. Was there really anything special about Stevie Summers? Was there anything to actually be proud of? "No." she shook her head. "That wasn't your fault. I should have been more considerate. I don't want you to blame yourself for that, please. I'm so sorry for how everything turned out. You didn't deserve any of this, and I wish I could fix all of it. I wish I could make everything right." Stevie was well aware of how hard it was to come out, and she didn't want Juliette to feel like because she wasn't ready, she was at fault. It was Stevie who should have made her feel as comfortable as possible, but then she got carried away, and it caused Juliette to be dragged to the other side of the country. "You weren't holding me back. You've never held me back. I had never felt more free in my life when I was with you."
She wished the fort had protected them more. But there was so much of the outside world still in their hearts. "It's neither of our faults. It's my parents fault for not loving me enough, okay?" she said as her lip quivered "and you did fix everything. You made me really happy in a place where I didn't think I could ever be happy". Juliette held up Stevie's hand in hers and held it tight to her chest, "I am so sorry that I made the call. But I was lost and being apart from you hurt so much because I knew what it was like to be near you and if I had played my cards right none of that would have happened. Once spring break was over, I was destroyed. I didn't know how to live, and I was worried I was stopping you from living. I thought I was making the grown up decision and we'd both be happier. But I haven't been happy since the day I said bygone, you were the best thing that ever happened to me. Letting you go is going to be my biggest regret of all time" she said as she held onto the girls hand even tighter. She didn't want to let go, she couldn't let go again. There was no space to make the same mistake twice.
Stevie listened to Juliette speak, it was crushing her to see the girl she loved so much like this. Sure she had just started to move on from Juliette this semester, but the moment she saw her that day in the quad, she knew. There was no moving on from Juliette Hastings. Stevie was still in love with her. As the other girl was speaking, Stevie thought this was Juliette's way of saying she wanted her back. But then she said, letting you go is going to be my biggest regret of all time, and it made her panic. It's like she was going to be left behind yet again, she wasn't sure if she could take that kind of heartbreak again. "Then don't." she said, almost in a whisper. "If you don't want to, don't. I'm right here." Stevie wasn't going to beg Juliette to stay, this was her decision to make, and even though she hoped she wouldn't leave, Stevie would still respect the choice she was going to make. What Juliette wanted was the most important thing to her.
Juliette looked up at Stevie as she said to not let her go. Her eyes filled with wonder and gratitude. She leaned in and kissed Stevie softly. Juliette's heart felt like it was going to explode, everything felt like it was right in the world. "I won't ever let you go, I never really have" she said as she took her hand away from Stevie. Juliette took off her ring and put it in Stevie's hand, "it broke the week I called it because I was tugging on it so much in the woods at night" said the girl quietly, "so I had it turned into a ring so I could fiddle with it as much as I wanted. I never take it off". Juliette curled up into Stevie's arms, "I'm so sorry" she said as she let out a soft sob. She felt so good and so bad all at the same time, "you know as your friend I don't think you should take back your sucky ex, right?" said Juliette looking up and smiling, letting out a nervous laugh.
Stevie never thought she'd ever get the chance to kiss Juliette again, but fuck did she miss this. Being like this with Juliette just always felt right, it's where she belonged. She looked down at the ring in her hand and listened to Juliette talk about the necklace. The night Juliette left to boarding school, Stevie had gotten them both necklaces with their initials on it. It made her cry all over again to hear that she had kept it this whole time. "Same here." Stevie took Juliette's hand and placed the ring back on her finger before bending down to lift the leg of her pants. She kept her "J" necklace around her ankle at all times. "I never take it off either. Glad to know I'm not completely crazy." she chuckled. "I know, it's okay." Stevie said quietly. She was still really hurt by everything, but she knew Juliette was being honest when she apologized. All Stevie could do was hope time would heal this. "Well between you and me, I'm kinda whipped. But don't tell her though, it'll go straight to her head." she smiled back at Juliette.
Juliette's heart soared when Stevie showed that she was also wearing the necklace. They had both held onto each other in different ways. "I'm going to spend a long time making it up to you. Emphasis on long time" she said softly, "and you've never been crazy. We're just soulmates". Juliette truly felt that they were soulmates. Everything just fell into place when they were together. Things just happened to them. They weren't going to hang out in school even though they had mutual friends? Make them meet and fall in love online. Separated by poor choices and horrible parents? Send them to the same school. It was kismet. Juliette laughed when Stevie said she was whipped and not to tell herself, "I won't tell her if you don't tell her about this" said Juliette as she leaned forward and kissed Stevie again, it was the most amazing kiss every time. Getting to kiss Stevie Summers was enchanting, there was no other kiss in the universe like it.

spring break out || part 1
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: washington // junior year.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: juliette x stevie (ft. montag).
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒: true and unadulterated hapiness.
𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒: a cross country road trip for love.
Montag got out of his car and tossed the keys to Stevie who had gotten out of the van, "You wait here outside the gate, she'll be out here before you know it" he said passively. He was not showing it, but he was really excited to see his sister. Enough that he had come on this spring break trip with her friends just to get her out of school. "And you" he said to Wren through the window of the van, "are picking me up so we can get to the house and get stuff set up for one hell of a rager" he said as he pat the car. Wren nodded.
Montag headed into the school and showed his ID so he could go up to Juliette's room. He knocked on the door before walking in, "Hey dumbass" said Montag with a smirk that turned into a full smile. "Monty!!!!" Juliette said, shocked by his presence in her dorm room. She jumped off her bed and hugged him. "What are you doing here?! You didn't tell me!!" she said, squeezing him so tightly. "I wanted to surprise you, but I am breaking you out of here for a few days. We can go out to dinner and get you out of this stuffy place. Just you and me" he lied, "pack your things." He was going to think of a better lie, but he needed an excuse for her to dress well. Not that she wouldn't, but she had no idea what was to come. "Actually, go ahead and dress for dinner. I want to go sightseeing in Seattle first, and I know you'll be uncomfortable in the restaurant if you're not wearing one of your outfits" he said in the most blase way possible. Somewhere, in his deepest heart of hearts ... he was rooting for love today. And that team was going to win.
Juliette quickly packed her things, some of her best outfits and her toiletries. "I'm staying staying with you?" she clarified. "Yes, pack for three days" he replied as he sat down at her desk and put together her laptop and things. He turned around so she could get changed, and she got herself all ready. "Let me just put on a little makeup and I'll be ready, will you get my suitcase shut?" she asked with a soft smile. Juliette finished getting ready, and she looked great. She hadn't really gotten to see the city at all yet, and was more than excited to get out of the country side and to go in. Little did she know, she was hardly going to be going anywhere. Once he got her out of the dorm and she had said goodbye to Florence, Montag and Juliette walked out into the sun. Her bags in his hands, he smiled at her. "I parked off the property, sorry for the walk" he said. She was suspicious of the smile, "What are you smiling about? Did you bring Kiki with you?" she teased. "I brought something" he said as they stepped past the gate. That's when the other girl came into view, leaning on the car. Juliette dropped her backpack right then and there and started running.
Stevie kept wiping her hands on her pants, they were all clammy from the nerves. Good nerves, of course. This was the first time she was seeing Juliette in months, nothing was going ruin this moment for them. "Sounds good." she answered Montag with a single nod. "And thanks, seriously." she said with a genuine smile. She had no idea how she would repay everyone for what they were doing, but she'd find a way eventually. Times like these made her realize how incredible the people around her were. As she waited, Stevie leaned against the car and played with her little J necklace. Her heart was racing. It's like she was meeting perchancetodream in person all over again. Once Juliette was in sight, Stevie's smile couldn't get any wider. She opened her arms for Juliette as she ran up to her, wrapping her arms around the girl and swinging her around before giving her a deep kiss. Their first public kiss (minus twisted tuesdays, but that was different). To some people it wouldn't mean a lot, but to Stevie it did. She wanted the whole world to know that she was Juliette's girlfriend. "I've missed you so much, Hastings."
Montag smiled, "Go get her" he said before she started to run. Montag picked up the bags and got in the van and the lot headed off to the airbnb, Rose and Marina looking out the window to see the two embrace. Their collective awwwww filled the car fully. Before Juliette knew it, her feet were off the ground as she was spun around by her favorite person in the entire world. Their lips locked, and Juliette felt completely free. There was no harm to be done by them being seen, it was just for them without all the weight and baggage. "I've missed you!!" said Juliette enthusiastically as she put her hands on either side of Stevie's face. "I can't believe it, you're actually here!! I can't believe you all surprised me like this!!" she said as she gave Stevie a little kiss on the nose, completely on her tippy toes to get there. "I am the luckiest girl in the entire world, Stevie Summers" she said, the name flowing off her lips sweeter than honey. She couldn't even believe it, it all felt like a dream. Taking her hands off Stevie's face wasn't even something she could conceptualize, she was worried that the other girl would disappear.
The months they weren't together should have been easier. They had talked to each other on the internet for two years, but once Stevie had Juliette in person, how could she go back? It was harder than she expected, but they made it work, which wasn't a surprise to Stevie. She would do anything for Juliette, no hesitation. Plus, the wait just made this moment even sweeter. "Well I had to make our reunion a big deal. Besides, I couldn't wait any longer to see you. Speaking of seeing you, are you fucking kidding me? Talk about making an impression. This might be my favorite dress yet." Juliette was always sending her outfit pics, but to see her in person with this outfit. It hit different. Hearing her name come out of Juliette's mouth was something she'd never get over. "We got a whole thing planned out for the weekend, it's gonna be great." she nodded over to everyone in the cars. "But right now, you and I get some alone time. We got a lot of catching up to do."
Juliette blushed, and she was just ... beaming. She couldn't help but smile, and she did love a compliment. She did a little twirl for the girl and posed for a second before getting right back up into her personal space. She didn't want there to be more than an inch between them at all times. "I can't believe I thought I was wasting this outfit on Monty and a nice dinner" she said with a laugh. Juliette wiggled her eyebrows, "catching up? Is that what the kids are calling it these days?" she said as she waved to the cars. They all took that as a sign to hit the road, and they started driving away. "Did you bring a whole platoon with you? Is everybody here?" Juliette asked, her smile still shining bright. All the people she loved had come to see her, enough to fill more than one car. It was so amazing, Stevie was so amazing. "I am just so happy that you are here, don't tell the others ... but you're my favorite human of all time." Juliette moved in to hug her, putting her head on the other girl's chest, squeezing tightly to make sure it wasn't all a dream.
"If you were going wear this just to hang out with Thaddeus, I can't imagine what else you got up your sleeve." Stevie told the girl with a smile on her face. Juliette never missed a beat when it came to the clothes she wore. "Woah, Hastings. I just wanted to catch up over some lunch. What did you have in mind?" she teased her girlfriend. Stevie of course had some things up her sleeve later on in the night for Juliette, but for now, she wanted to talk. "Yep the band's all here. Plus Chase, Jonah, their girlfriends, and your brother's girlfriend and boyfriend... question mark? You know what I mean." she said with a chuckle. "We're also gonna give you a pretty sick performance, just for you." Stevie couldn't wait to perform for Juliette. Whenever they did gigs back home, Stevie would only see Juliette in the crowd. She was playing just for her. But this time it was special. She had a new song and of course wanted to perform Perchance to Dream. That was only for special occasions. Stevie took Juliette's hand and walked her over to the car, opening up the passenger door for her. "Don't tell them either, but I'm mostly here for you. They're fun and all, but you are my favorite."
"I have a few going out to eat outfits, but I am not prepared to see you at all! I thought I was going to be lounging around and eating all weekend!" said Juliette, thinking over what she had in her suitcase. She had packed for a little bit of everything, just because Montag really went with the flow of whatever mood he was in. She had a swim suit in there, and a heavier jacket, pretty much everything under the sun. "Summers!" she whined when Stevie teased her about how they were going to spend time together and Juliette shoved her girlfriend lightly. When Stevie mentioned Montag's situation she laughed, "just don't think about it too hard. I don't think they know what it is, only that they would have separation anxiety if he were to come without them." Juliette looked at Stevie when she was talking about how the band was going to perform, and Juliette let out a squeal. It was everything she had ever wanted. She spent so much time showing Florence videos of the Striking Vipers preforming, and to get to see it in person again? Oh it was just the best thing in the entire world. Stevie opened up the car door for her and Juliette gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, "are you sure you don't want me to drive?" she joked.
"You have the cutest outfits. Even your pajamas are cute." Stevie reassured Juliette even though she knew how her girlfriend was about the clothes she wore. "But we can always go shopping around the city. You could pick an outfit out for both of us, my treat." Stevie was pretty curious on what kind of outfit Juliette would pick out for her. Even though they both dressed very differently, she trusted her girlfriend's sense of style. "Damn boarding school really has changed you, huh?" she continued to tease Juliette. "But I'll see if I can squeeze in some more private time with you later on. Don't wanna leave you unsatisfied." Stevie would be lying if she said she wasn't excited to have her girlfriend all alone. She nodded as Juliette explained Montag's situation with Camilla and Kiran. She was pretty much used to it at this point. "You driving?" she asked after smiling from the kiss she received. "I love you so much, but I want to keep living." she joked before kissing her girlfriend's forehead and heading to the other side of the car. "So how's everything been here? How's Florence doing? No pretty girls I should be seeing as competition?" she asked with a grin as she began to drive them out into the city. Stevie and Juliette constantly talked over discord, so she knew a bit about what was going on here.
"Your treat? That's not how this works at all. In lieu of psychological damages on you and me, this treat will be falling purely on my parents" said Juliette looking up at her girlfriend, "and while we are at it, lunch too." Juliette was not going to take no for an answer on that front, she was sure of it. Jules scrunched her nose when Stevie continued to tease her about one on one time, "you tease me, but I'm going to be a very happy camper waking up next to you for the next few days." God, that really was the dream. They had had a few sleepovers, but they hadn't been able to be that close all the time. This was going to be the most amazing weekend ever, she could feel it. "That's a compelling argument" said Juliette as she got kissed on the forehead, "I would also like you to keep living." She got in and buckled her seat belt, "Flo is good, she's been great honestly" Juliette said with a kind smile, "and I have been blind the whole time I have been away from you. Only ugly people on this campus, except for Florence, but she knows I'm a taken woman." She had only physically talked to Florence anyways, and a few teachers, and one janitor who always started conversations. She kept her social interactions ... very very limited.
The moment Juliette mentioned her parents, Stevie raised a brow and pointed at the girl. "Ahh, I see you. How generous of them. So sweet." she joked, it was time Juliette's parents treated them for once. It wasn't going to make up for everything they did, but spending their money was good enough for her. It was well deserved. "I do miss our sleepovers." Stevie mentioned with a smile. It was only for a weekend, but she'd allow herself to pretend they were in their own little world, living with her girlfriend. Waking up to her by her side, cooking each other breakfast. It was perfect. Stevie smiled as Juliette mentioned that Florence was doing good. She was glad Juliette had found someone she connected with so much. Hopefully having Florence there made everything a little more easier for her. "Same here, completely blind. Girls? Haven't seen them in a while. I only know of Juliette Hastings." she chuckled under her breath, hoping Juliette didn't think she was flirting around while she was away. Her brain was constantly on Juliette mode. Once they got to a shopping center, Stevie parked the car and got out to open Juliette's door. "You might know this place better than I do. Lead the way, babe." Stevie held out her hand for Juliette to grab with a huge smile on her face.
Juliette smiled, but it was soft and a tinge melancholy. "Our sleepovers are the best" she replied, biting her lip a little out of nervousness. This weekend had a lot riding on it, it was going to have to tide them over again for a while. She just missed seeing Stevie in the hallways, drinking milkshakes at the diner and her dealing with the fact that Juliette ate her fries with a fork and knife, watching the band perform. She missed all of it. But she missed her the most, just being in a room with her. Juliette felt comforted that Stevie was truly and fully still off the market. Everything about Stevie was desirable, and she was a little worried about people knowing that they had been dating in secret. She had heard from Gabrielle that basically the whole school knew, so hopefully that marked the territory enough. She had complete trust in Stevie, especially knowing about how she had been cheated on before. Also, they were in the kind of love that was so all consuming that it hardly ever even dawned on Juliette. She was mostly jealous that other people got to look at the girl in the flesh on a daily basis. She was jealous of Wren for taking pictures with her, she was jealous of Gabrielle for getting to spend time with her, she was jealous of anyone who got to breath the air that she breathed. But she wasn't jealous of anyone trying to get close to Stevie the way Juliette was. No human beings had ever stood so close to another's soul as they had. "That's good to hear, but we both know the only person I'm jealous of is me" she teased, referencing back to how ridiculous Juliette had been. But don't worry, next time they talk about that she will have the ego of Chanel Hampton about it. Once they arrived, Stevie opened the door for her and put out her hand, god this woman was amazing. "I have seen stuff on tik tok about this area, but I haven't been here" she said as she held the other girl's hand and hugged on her arm. "I think thrifting is definitely for us" she said as they started to walk down the street. It felt so good to be holding onto her, like she couldn't float away. "So I'm picking out things for you, and you're picking out things for me? And don't make me look ridiculous, Summers. That's a warning. I know your thought process. If she hates it she'll want to take it off, but I want to look good for you" she said pouting a little to show that she was just being funny.
Stevie let out a drawn out sigh once Juliette mentioned being jealous of herself, followed by a small smile. It felt so long ago that all of that happened, but Stevie remembered it so vividly. Being around Juliette felt like being home, and she couldn't understand why. From their first in-person conversation, the day Juliette interviewed her, Stevie could tell the other girl was meant to be in her life. Of course at that time, she only thought their relationship would be platonic, but as time went on, she got more and more confused. Sometimes Stevie would feel so stupid for not figuring it all out sooner. Sometimes she questioned whether Juliette was perchancetodream, but then she'd shut it down pretty quickly. But the instant connection they had in person just solidified what Stevie had thought throughout the two years she talked to the nameless person on the internet. No matter how they met, no matter who she was, Stevie and her were always meant to cross paths. They were simply meant for each other. Nothing would change that. The moment Juliette hugged her arm, Stevie bent down a bit to kiss her girlfriend's cheek. She'd keep this moment with her forever. The two girls being able to show how unapologetically in love they were. Being silently in love with Juliette Hastings was perfectly fine. As long as she had Juliette, she was okay. But some people didn't understand the pure joy that came from a public display of affection when you had to hide your relationship. Juliette didn't deserve to be hidden. "I was thinking the same thing." Stevie nodded in agreement to the suggestion of thrifting. She was a little nervous to pick something out for Juliette. Sure, she knew her girlfriend's style, but she also knew her standards were high when it came to clothes. It's not like there was any pressure being put on Stevie, but she needed to make sure the outfit would hit the mark. "Look, I'll try my best not to make you look like a fool but I can't make any promises." she teased Juliette. "Besides, I don't see anything wrong with you taking some clothes off, as long as I'm in the dressing room with you. Or is dressing room hook ups just a little too scandalous for you, miss mayor's daughter?" she said softly in her girlfriend's ear.
When Stevie leaned down to kiss her on the cheek, Juliette looked up to her and smiled. Her eyes creasing a little in the corners as it happened, she was just radiating joy to be here with here. To be anywhere with her. "I know you'll pick something great" Juliette had absolute faith in Stevie. There had been a lot of focus on her outfits throughout their time together, Juliette always kicking things up a notch around her just to see that Stevie smile when she looked her best. That Stevie smile gassed her up like nothing else, and god the compliments were worth getting out of bed for, on their own. There was nothing more affirming than Stevie complimenting her. When Stevie suggested a dressing room hook up Juliette shoved her a little to be playful, "Stevieeee" she said, feigning shock. "I am not going to spend my first day with you in months getting a citation for public indecency" Juliette had to laugh at the whole thing. "If you wanted to get your hands on me, then you shouldn't have taken me out in public" the girl taunted, knowing that they had many many more hours to spend together. Sure, some of it would be around other people ... but they would find time. Plenty of time. "Plus, I want to see your face at the outfit reveal, and if you get to watch then there's no element of surprise" she was going to insist on having to see her face when she came out of the dressing room. She knew she would lock those memories up tight forever. The two girls headed into the thrift store that Juliette had heard a lot about and Juliette squeezed her hand before letting go, "I am gonna go to the men's section for a moment and see what it has to offer for you. So go and be free, wander around. See if there's anything that screams Hastings" she said with a wink.
Stevie let out a small laugh once Juliette nudged her. Though she would never turn down something like that, she wasn't completely serious about it either. She just wanted to get Juliette's reaction and it was exactly what she was expecting. Sweet, innocent Juliette Hastings. The hold she had on Stevie. "The first night we had ever spent together ended with you on beer bong table. If anything, this is way more private than that night." she continued to tease her as she brought up homecoming night. That night would always stick with her, especially the after party. "I just wanted everyone to see how gorgeous my girlfriend is. If anything, it's your fault for being so damn beautiful." she said before giving her a quick kiss on the lips. "But I do love a good reveal, so I promise to be on my best behavior." Stevie took a quick look around the thrift store before looking down at Juliette. She was excited to see what her girlfriend was going to pick out for her. She knew the girl wouldn't disappoint. "I'll do my best. I know you will." she saluted her before heading straight the the skirts. Juliette loved her skirts, everyone knew that, but then she noticed a nice, form fitting plaid dress and it just screamed Juliette. After a few minutes, she found a white turtleneck that seemed to go nice with the dress. As she walked back to Juliette, Stevie noticed an outfit that was more for herself, but why not throw it in and see if she could get her girlfriend to try it on. Sure it was jeans and a loose, button up shirt, but it was cute to Stevie. "Alright. I got a few options. You gotta try them all on though, even if you may or may not like them. Just trust me." she said as she flashed her teeth at the girl.
Juliette smiled at the mention of the beer pong table, that kiss lived in her mind completely rent free. She thought about it way more than even she was willing to admit. Then Stevie was calling her beautiful, this day could end now and she would be happy with what she had gotten out of it. Obviously, she wanted so much more. But it was the little things that just made today so fulfilling already. Juliette sauntered off to the men's section, but was dismayed at the lack of good floral shirts, so she made her way back to the girl's side of things and she saw a fun skirt. This could be fun, seeing her in a skirt even for a few minutes. She picked out a fun t-shirt to go with it, keeping things casual for Stevie's sake. Then she went over and found a cute top, something a little less out of Stevie's comfort zone but she knew it would be so flattering on her figure. Juliette picked up the things and held them in her arms, getting distracted by all the options. She went with her gut though, and found Stevie walking around the store. "I also have a few options for you" she replied, knowing that there'd be a funny option and a serious option. She hoped the girl would like the shirt though, "same to you, just trust the process" she said, beaming at her. The girls traded clothes, "I will see you in a minute." Juliette headed into the changing room and put on the jeans and top option, smiling at how they were trading places for a minute, "you're putting on the skirt one first, right?" Juliette called out between the two rooms, "ready?" she asked once she was fully changed.
Stevie was excited to see what Juliette had picked out for her, but after they gave each other the clothes they picked, she immediately noticed the skirt. She instantly smiled to herself and knew she had to try this on first. A treat from her girlfriend, but a treat for her girlfriend as well. It was nice to know that they came up with the same idea to bring one serious outfit and one ... not so serious. Stevie was down to experiment though, and she had to admit, the skirt Juliette picked out was cute. "Oh of course, and you're putting on the jeans right?" she asked as she put the outfit on. Once everything was on, she took one more look in the mirror and nodded to herself in approval. "Okay, ready." Stevie pulled away the dressing room curtains and walked out to see Juliette in the outfit, her smile couldn't get any wider. "Even in jeans you're still fucking gorgeous. Goddamn." she teased the girl and checked her out a bit. "I would say that outfit is a win." she stated with a proud smile. Stevie of course would approve of the outfit, it was pretty much something she'd wear herself. "Now how do I look? Not to toot my own horn, but I think my legs look kinda nice." Stevie did a small spin and chuckled under her breath, "Was that your plan all along, Hastings?"
Juliette laughed at her reflection before she stepped out of the dressing room, "I look so incredibly gay right now" she replied when Stevie said the outfit was a win, "not a bad thing, just very ... wow" said the girl. But she couldn't help but stare at Stevie's long legs, "my long legged ladyyy" said Juliette with a huge smile on her face as she checked out Stevie for a minute as she spun around, "spin again, I heard you wouldn't" said the girl, teasing her a little, "people have been talking, they said so." Juliette just wanted to see her spin again, she was so pretty. Beautiful, enchanting, her girlfriend. All words that could describe Stevie Summers. Juliette smiled as she headed back into the changing room and put on the next outfit, "hey can you come and zip me up?" she called out as she got the other outfit on. The zipper was a little finicky, and she would enjoy Stevie coming into her changing room with a good excuse for a second.
"Fuck yeah you do, babe." Stevie said with a relaxed smile on her face, trying to take in the sight before it was over. She loved Juliette in her skirts and dresses, but who knew when she'd ever see a tiny Stevie again? When Juliette said to spin again, she raised a brow and laughed, "People, huh? Guess I can't disappoint the fans." She did one more little spin for the girl before they both went back into their dressing rooms. Stevie was already finishing up when Juliette called out for her, a smirk forming on her face after hearing that the girl needed help zipping up her dress. "Of course." she spoke sweetly before leaving her dressing room and going into her girlfriend's, "Is this your way of telling me you had a change of heart?" she whisper in the girl's ear, referring to when Stevie joked about a dressing room hook up. She looked over at Juliette's reflection while she helped zip up the dress and smiled to herself. Her girlfriend was stunning. "You like it? I think you look incredible, and I think it fits your style."
Juliette giggled a little when she asked Stevie to spin again and she did it, "I really do have you whipped don't I?" she added, her smile still plastered on her face. When she was trying to get her dress zipped up and she asked Stevie to come in, her heart started to flutter a little. It was in full palpitation as her girlfriend whispered in her ear, looking at the two of them in the mirror together. Stevie always towered over her, but she felt closer to the girl than ever. "You know me so well" said the girl, taking Stevie's hands and wrapping them around her from behind. "You know me better than anyone" Juliette could feel herself about to cry from happiness. But she held it in, turning around in the girl's arms and giving her a soft kiss. "Also you look so amazing, and also also I am buying all four of these outfits. Whose to say I won't steal your style?" she teased with a smile. She pulled out the amex she was given and waved it around, "they can eat their hearts out, me and my girlfriend are going to be the best dressed of all time." Juliette was so happy to be here with Stevie, "will you unzip me before you head out?" she asked as she turned back around to look at their reflection again. She loved seeing them side by side, it just felt so good to be in the same space.
As Juliette took Stevie’s arms to wrap around her body, Stevie stepped a bit closer until her body was pressed up against the girl’s and nuzzled her face into the crook of her girlfriend's neck, placing a soft kiss on her skin. She missed having Juliette around here. There was a special kind of comfort whenever she was around her. Her gentle presence soothed Stevie. She was so used to a loud, almost hectic environment because of her parents, and though she loved them, she also appreciated taking a step back from it all to relax. Juliette was that breath of fresh air. Stevie smiled at her girlfriend in the mirror when she said she knew her so well. All Stevie wanted was to learn as much as possible about Juliette, ever since their time on the internet. She smiled against the girl's lips as they kissed, "And ditch the skirts? You would never." she teased. "But I was a fan, maybe I'll start wearing more skirts. Who knows. Maybe you'll start getting skirt pictures from me." Stevie laughed as the girl waved the card in the air, "Juliette Hastings, I didn't know you were such a rebel. What have those boarding school girls done to you?" She then nodded as a response and started to unzip the dress, leaving a small trail of kisses down her spine. Stevie was just a little too tall to make it so far down Juliette's body without bending over too much. "Alright, I'll see you in a sec." she winked at the girl as she exited the room and went into her own to get dressed into her clothes.
"I would die at a skirt picture, but I also love your style. You know that" said the girl, wanting to be affirming of her usual Stevie. Those outfits that made her heart race when she saw her. Things that were so obviously Stevie. The girl she loved so very much. Juliette laughed, "I'm a rebel with a cause." She just wanted to make sure they had the most fun physically possible this weekend, and she was more than happy to make sure her parents bankrolled their good time. The kisses down her spine made her shiver at the touch, she just felt so deeply seen by Stevie. That she was loved for all of her: mind, body, and soul. She blushed at the wink and quickly got changed back into her other outfit, ready to see Stevie again already. She folded up the clothes she was going to buy and headed out of the dressing room. They finished up and Juliette bought the clothes and a pair of fun sunglasses before they headed out with the bags, "Where to next?" she asked as she reached out and held the girl's hand again. "I will go absolutely anywhere with you." Juliette ran her thumb over the girl's hand as their fingers were intertwined. She really would go anywhere with her, spending time with her was the greatest gift of all time.
"Maybe if you're lucky enough, I'll slide you a picture after spring break. Who knows?" Stevie chuckled, though it was nice to hear that someone with such great style like Juliette liked Stevie's. "Can't believe I'm witnessing another segment of mayor's daughter goes wild. Not gonna lie, it's kinda hot." she teased her girlfriend. Anything Juliette did was attractive to Stevie, let's be real. Once they were out of the thrift store, she took her bag with one hand and held the girl's hand with the other. "I looked some places up and saw there was some nice art we could check out. But not before we get some food of course." If Stevie was already getting a little hungry, she couldn't imagine how Juliette was feeling. She was always snacking. "You in the mood for anything specific? Or we can always wing it. Go to the first spot we see."
Juliette's stomach had been growling for a little while now, but she had been so distracted by Stevie's presence that she honestly was not thinking about food. Her eyes sparkled at the mention of food, "I am always hungry" she said with a little laugh as she pulled up their held hands and gave Stevie's hand a small kiss, "whatever you'd like, or whatever we find is good by me. I will eat anything and everything." The two girls continued down the street a little before they passed a cute little american dining establishment, "here seems perfect" said the girl as she pulled the other girl in. "Our first public date" Juliette said quietly with a little squeal. It felt so good to be parading around town with her girlfriend. "Table for two please, by the window" she said to the hostess. She wanted to people watch, and she wanted people to watch her and Stevie. The two girls sat across from each other and Juliette quickly scanned the menu, "let's start with fried pickles for sure." Juliette looked across the table at Stevie, she was so beautiful. "Have I told you today just how pretty you are? Because you are the most beautiful person I have ever seen" she said as she reached across the table to hold her hand.
Stevie's smile couldn't possibly get any wider once Juliette brought up that this was their first public date. "It's really come full circle now." She was referring to the fact that their first time hanging out in person was at the diner back home. Where Juliette ate her fries with a fork and knife. It's was adorable. Once they were seated, Stevie opened up a menu for herself and nodded in agreement with her girlfriend, "Hell yeah." Juliette's compliments never got old, it was like she was hearing them for the first time. She squeezed the girl's hand gently and smiled, "Oh stop, you're gonna make me blush in front of all these people. How embarrassing." she said jokingly. "Besides, the real beauty is sitting right in front of me. I know I told you that you'd get even more beautiful before you came out here but you didn't have show off like this." she teased. "You're pretty much the whole package. Minus the driving skills, but that's where I come in. We make a pretty great duo, huh?"
Juliette herself blushed at Stevie saying she was going to blush, it was contagious. "My bet that you were going to be more gorgeous? No, I think I definitely won" said Juliette as she poured them both water. "I totally have driving skills, no one said they had to be good" she teased kindly. It felt so amazing to be seated across from her, it felt like it was never going to get old. Then she remembered that this was only for the weekend, and her heart hurt a little. But she decided to live in the moment, and the moment was good. "So what are our plans for tonight?" Juliette inquired. She knew Stevie couldn't help but whip up something good, and if not her ... then Wren, Kyle, and Rose most definitely did something for the two of them. They were good friends like that.
Stevie could feel the butterflies in her stomach when Juliette said she was more gorgeous now. Eventually the honeymoon phase fades away, but she felt like it never did when she was with Juliette. Being away from her for this long only made being with her right now even more special. Juliette could just look her in the eyes long enough, and she'd melt. "You know what? That is true. You do have the skill, serving out of lanes. That's something." she said with a laugh. "So we might have a performance for you. I mean it's for everyone, but let's be real, it's mainly for you. Just don't tell Chase or Jonah that. They might get all sulky." she whispered as if it were some kind of secret. "We got some drinks before leaving, so you could go as crazy as you want." Stevie always found it funny how much of a lightweight Juliette was. "But after, I have a surprise for you.
Juliette smiled, "I'm sure they will not be heartbroken that it's mostly for me. But you brought like a whole bus full of people. The place we're staying must be insane to house everyone and their everyones" said the girl, her face creasing around her eyes from smiling so hard. "I think I'll take it easy, I want to remember everything. One drink won't send me falling over. But to be fair, I haven't had any alcohol since I got here. So don't hold me to the not falling over thing". Hearing that Stevie had a surprise for her was very exciting, "A surprise? But you being here is the surprise! I don't have anything to give you except for time, and love, and affection. You should have warned me!" said the girl. She was happy that it had been a surprise, because she would have talked Florence into an early grave by never shutting up about Stevie coming. She also would have gotten so nervous she probably wouldn't have even been able to snack, which was a crime.
"You're gonna love it. Wren and Rose picked it out, and you know Rose, she's gonna get the best place possible. We all pitched in, but it did help that Gabrielle's family is fucking loaded." Everyone was pretty well off, so money was never an issue when it came to people in Hastings. Stevie let out a small laugh as Juliette mentioned that she hadn't drank the whole time she was in Washington. "Don't worry, I'll make sure we won't get as wasted as we did that one time at the club." she referred to, the one and only, Twisted Tuesday. "I'll also make sure to catch you if you fall over. Don't worry, babe, you're in good hands." she said with a relaxed smile. "Getting your time, love, and affection? That's a gift in itself. Who knew I was so lucky? But I think you'll enjoy this." Stevie had written Juliette a song while she was away and thankfully, she had finished it up right before this roadtrip was set up. "We could also finish what we started a while back." she spoke slowly, not trying to be too direct. Not only were they in public, but the memory of their almost-first time was ruined quite a bit. "If you want of course, no pressure. Seriously. I'm just glad I'm with you right now."
Juliette squealed quietly, she was just so excited that everyone was here. All of her people, "I cannot wait to see it, and I'm sure the view is amazing." She hoped Stevie didn't put much money into this trip, that would make her feel really bad. Juliette assumed that their friends had hopefully and respectfully taken care of everything. "I'm sure I'll think of some way to repay the gift. I have time and a credit card, and Gabrielle and Marina. I will have to spend time with them, and also Jonah" said the girl, selfishly she wanted to spend all of her time with Stevie. But she missed her friends too and she knew she would regret it. Juliette knew that her girlfriend wasn't trying to be direct, she was so cute and casual. But Juliette had been thinking about what they started nonstop since they were rudely interrupted and lives were destroyed, "Of course I want to finish what we started, or what didn't get started. Trust me, I am beyond ready. Not to be aggressive about it, but I am not interested in being timid. I am so in love with you, and if that means being assertive for the first time in my entire life. I am going to do it." Juliette's cheeks felt like they were on fire as she rambled. She had never been so clear, but this was very important.
"No need, you've been through a lot." Stevie shook her head. Yes, they were both dealing with the long distance, but Juliette truly got the short end of the stick here. She was glad her girlfriend had met a friend like Florence, but the idea of her being shipped off to a boarding school pained her every time she thought of it. "Besides, what more could I ask for? I have you, right here right now. Everything's perfect." she said, looking deeply into the other girl's eyes. "Oh forsure, they've all missed you like crazy. Jonah had mentioned how sitting in silence with other people just doesn't feel the same? Probably because there's no such thing as sitting in silence when he's around Chase all the time." she chuckled. "I'll chill with Wren and Rose, even though he'll probably be with Chanel most of the time." Stevie was just so glad they all got to hangout together as a big group. They usually did these kind of things pretty often, but it never felt right when Juliette wasn't there. Stevie smiled at her girlfriend, she of course didn't mind how this night would turn out, but she wanted Juliette so bad, especially after being so close beforehand. "No, be as aggressive as you want. I love when you try to give off top energy." she nodded. "All jokes aside though, I really love you. So much. I'll make sure the night is perfect."
Chase being quiet was a funny thing to think about, "I'm sure he intends to be quiet and then just starts talking out of nowhere" she said with a little laugh. She wasn't super excited that Chanel was here, but she knew that this trip was about her and Stevie. Wren would keep her occupied enough, and there were plenty of both of their friends here. Juliette had to laugh, "top energy? Don't be getting any ideas about how intense I'm being right now, I know I'll be back to my timid bottom energy the second we're behind closed doors and all thoughts of talking big game are going to be out the window." She smiled when Stevie said she loved her and wanted to make the night perfect, "There's no such thing as perfect, I'm just going to be happy to be there with you. Just remember that I love you and even though I don't know what I'm doing, I am still very very cute." The two ate their lunch and had a wonderful montage worthy time of laughing and smiling and complimenting. Everything you could want out of a first date, and Juliette paid before the two of them were off again. //TBC

reunited pt 2 || juliette and stevie
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: the quad // late march.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: juliette x stevie.
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒: none.
𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒: she finally sees her in the flesh.
Juliette got out her hammock to put up in between two trees she had been eyeing for a while. Today was the perfect temperature to finally be back outside again. She turned on her little bluetooth speaker and started to play Something Good Can Work by Two Door Cinema Club as she continued to set up the hammock. Jonah made a joke as the girl finagled with the straps around the trees, and Juliette was unapologetically laughing and having a good time. The sun felt beautiful as she let herself finally breathe and enjoy life. Since she had gotten here Juliette had felt like she couldn't catch her breath. In this moment, she felt free. She got herself and Jonah up into the hammock. Sitting with her legs dangling off the side, she thumbed through a poetry book and smiled. She loved the feeling of the sun on her skin, and the words were sweeter than honey. This year was going to be all hers, and she didn't need to hide anymore. The girl looked to her phone and unblocked Stevie on social media. If Stevie was looking for her, she would see her. If she didn't want to look, that was okay too. It was time to focus on Juliette again, and to not be so afraid.

Stevie finally finished classes for the day and for the first time, she left not feeling completely drained. It was quite the opposite actually. Her presentation in her last class turned out great so it left her pretty pumped. Being able to talk about what she loved the most always got her going. Music just did that to Stevie, it fueled her. As she put her earphones in, she put one of her playlists on shuffle. Everything just seemed to be going so well lately. Finally. For the past two years, she had been so stuck. Constantly hoping for something that was never going to happen again. Having her first loved ripped away from her left her completely empty inside. There was so much guilt and regret, but she started to realize that there was still so much to live for. She had her family, her friends, and her music. She had even met June and things were going so well with her. She was starting to feel happy again in her life, and she hoped Juliette was happy too. Even though they weren't together anymore, they were at some point, and Stevie would hold those memories close to her heart forever. But it was time to let go. As she was walking through the quad, she began to type in her band's groupchat to see if any of them were free to hangout, making sure to look up every once in a while so she didn't bump into anyone. Then the next song started to play. Sofia by Clairo. She hadn't heard the song in a very long time, and that was mostly a choice on her part. Clairo's music usually reminded Stevie of Juliette, but Sofia was practically their song. It hurt too much to listen to it before, but in this moment, it didn't so much. It felt like that was some kind of sign that she really was letting go. As she looked up, she noticed Jonah and they made eye contact for a second. She gave him a friendly smile but could see the absolute terror on his face. It wasn't until her eyes shifted to the person next to him that she realized what was up with him. There she was. It was her. Juliette Hastings. Stevie froze in place, she felt like everything in the world had stopped, but Juliette. Hearing that familiar laugh from a distance, it made Stevie's heart skip a beat. And just like that, the song slowed down in her ears, and the lyrics couldn't ring any louder. But oh my God, I think I'm in love with you. Stevie finally caught her breath and turned the other way. It was all just a little too much to process. Without thinking, she exited out the imessage app and opened up instagram. She needed answers.

parting is such sweet sorrow || juliette and stevie
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: montag’s room // early spring of junior year.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: juliette x stevie.
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒: sadness.
𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒: after being caught, juliette says goodbye before leaving for boarding school.
Juliette stepped back from her brother's computer screen and took a deep breath. He was pacing around the room, "This is so fucking stupid" said the boy under his breath. "There's no point at getting mad Montague" his sister replied, absolutely defeated. She had spent the whole day crying and packing, their housekeeper just kept dropping off folded laundry for her to put into her luggage. "There's nothing either of us can do, and do not say you're going to tell parents about what you get up to. It'll only make things worse for both of us" she pleaded. Before she knew it there was a tap on the window, "Okay, go to my room and play music and lock the door like we talked about. Thank you so much" she said putting her hand on her brother's shoulder before she pulled him into a hug. "Not to be gay, but I am going to miss you J" said the boy as he hugged her back. "Don't be gay, you'll get kicked out of the house" she said, laughing a little as her eyes expelled a few tears. She wiped them as she opened the window, "Hello my love" she said quietly as Montag headed to her room, hearing the distant sound of Clairo playing from her door across the hall.
As soon as Stevie finished messaging Juliette on discord, she grabbed her keys and ran downstairs. Her parents knew that she had been in a mood throughout the weekend but they didn't pry too much. They were working on her mother's ceramics when they saw her head towards the front door, "Where you goin', butterbean?" her mother asked. "Juliette's house." she said in a rush. Her parents looked at each other with a smile on their faces. They were so happy for their daughter, and they hoped Juliette would bring her out of the mood she was in. Stevie hadn't told them about what went down at the Hastings house, not yet. "Tell her we say hi. Oh, speaking of, your package came in." Stevie looked back at her dad after he spoke as he pointed to the package that was placed on the table. She quickly opened it and put what she needed in the pocket of her overalls. "Love you guys, bye." she said before heading out and biking her way over to Juliette's house. Stevie made her way towards the forrest next to the house, Juliette had told her about how people were always larping around there. It seemed like a good place to hide her bike. She then climbed up the tree and got on the balcony before knocking on the window. "Hey, babe." she said with a sad smile on her face. Even in times like this, Juliette always brought a smile to Stevie's face. She made her way inside the house and noticed Montag leaving the room, she reminded herself to thank him later. "I love you." she pushed Juliette's hair back before kissing the girl softly on the lips. "Everything's gonna be fine. Before you know it, you'll be back." she told her girlfriend, trying to remain as positive as she could.
Juliette's whole heart filled with warmth when Stevie said i love you, it brought a sad smile to her face as well, "I love you" she replied. She felt like she had never meant it more. The tall girl's hands were moving her hair back and her lips were on hers. She thought she would never get the chance to kiss her again, this was more than enough for her. The chance to say goodbye. Juliette pressed her forehead to the other girl's her hand on the back of her neck. "I don't think this is a see you later alligator kind of moment" said the girl, a tear falling onto her cheek. "This is a big goodbye" she said, as her breath got shaky. It felt like she couldn't breathe at all, the air entering her lungs like a petulant child who was trying to stifle a sob. "And, I, I know that we're young and dumb and whatever. But you are the great love of my life, Stevie Summers" she said as she ran her thumb up and down the nape of Stevie's neck, "I am going to think about you every day for the rest of my life, and that is a promise". Tears were fully flowing now, there was not an ounce of positivity in her system. There was no escaping this fate.
Stevie wanted to imagine that there was some way all of this would work out. She knew Juliette was leaving, but a big part of her hadn't accepted that. In her head, she would see her in school like always, sitting at the front of the class with her cute skirts. They'd message each other late into the night before falling asleep with her laptop next to her. She'd make her a new playlist and maybe even a new song. Everything was so perfect, why did it have to end like this? This is a big goodbye. She could feel a tight pain in her chest as she heard Juliette speak. The words crushed her. Stevie felt the tears fall down her face, but let out a laugh anyways as Juliette said that she was the great love of her life. To love and to be loved back so intensely, it was a feeling like no other. "I'm so grateful I got to meet you, Juliette Hastings. You've... You've done so much for me. Thank you. I love you so much." she said, looking deep into the girl's eyes. "I will always love you." she said truthfully. There would be no one like Juliette. Not ever. "I have something for you." she took her hands off the girl and into her pocket. "I wanted to give this to you last week, but the damn package got delayed." In her hand was a small box with necklaces in it. One with Juliette's initials and the other with Stevie's. "What shit timing."
When Juliette next returned to Hastings Village ... Stevie might already be off and gone. She was going to miss that face everyday for an eternity. How could you already miss someone when they're right in front of you? How did her heart feel so full that it felt like that was what was causing it to break? "If I could do any of it again, all I would want is more time. I can't believe how stupid I was, I wasted so much time hiding behind my computer" she said as she put her hand on the other girls face and let out a sob. She had been so selfish and so guarded, with the person who loved her the most. Who she loved the most. The girl gave her a box, and Juliette lit up when she opened it. It was the most perfect thing in the world, because it was from her. "I love it, and I love you. Have I said that enough? Because I want to say it so much that it loses it's meaning entirely and you're sick of hearing it. I love you, Stevie Summers" said the girl as she kissed the other girl's cheek. "I don't think I can thank you enough for loving me, ya know?" she said as tears flowed down her face, adorned with a smile. It felt so good to be near her, even if their time was ending.
"Stop, please." Stevie shook her head, trying to wipe the tears from Juliette's face as if she weren't crying as well. She didn't want Juliette to carry that kind of guilt with her because there was nothing to be guilty of. "There was no time wasted. The whole time we were with each other." she spoke softly. "It doesn't matter if we weren't with each other physically. If it hadn't been for you being on the computer, we may have never ended up together." That wasn't something she fully believed though. It was corny, especially to be thinking this at their age, but it almost felt like the two were soulmates. They were always meant for each other. If they hadn't met online, something else would have brought them together. "Besides, our whole online romance is pretty special. Sounds like it came straight out of a movie." she smiled as she tried wiping her own tears this time. A failed attempt though, as she continued to cry. "I could never get sick of hearing you say that, no matter how many times you tell me. I love you too, Juliette Hastings." she said after Juliette kissed her on the cheek. She took the necklace with Stevie's initials on it and held it up, "I put your necklace on for you, and you do the same for me?" she suggested.
Juliette bit her lip out of instinct, tasting the salt on her mouth from Stevie's tears. "I would love that" she said as she turned around and moved her hair to the side so that Stevie could put the necklace on her. She looked down at it and smiled before walking over to Montag's bed and climbing up onto her knees, "Do you think I'll tall enough to not accidentally choke you?" she said with a little smirk appearing on her face. "My tall lady" said the girl taking her hand and bringing her closer, kissing her softly on the lips. She put her hands on the girl's shoulders and turned her around, unclasping the necklace and locking it behind Stevie's neck. After, she put her arms around her from behind and pulled her back onto the bed, falling backwards herself. She turned to face the other girl, resting her head on her hand to prop it up. "I don't want to go" she said weakly.
Stevie placed the necklace around Juliette's neck, sniffling a bit as she thought about how excited she was to give her girlfriend this gift. This was supposed to be a happy moment, and now she was barely going to see Juliette wearing it. Stevie was pretty grateful that it had came into today, she would have been a complete mess if it arrived any later. They'll at least have this with them while they were separated. She smiled as she watched the girl get up on the bed, it was adorable. Everything about her was. "I trust you." she said with a smile before gently kissing her back. Her heart ached thinking about how these were their last moments together. She wouldn't be able to hold her or kiss her, not even send a message. Stevie turned around so Juliette can put the necklace on for her, but after she turned back around, Juliette was already pulling her onto the bed. It broke her heard to hear that Juliette didn't want to leave. "I don't want you to go either." she admitted as she tucked some of Juliette's hair behind her ear. "I wish I could do something so you could stay."
These were the final hours, she had no idea how long Stevie could stay. Luckily Montag was playing Juliette in her room, but she didn't know how long that could last for. "We can message all the time. Yeah, there's probably like no cell service, but I will have to have a computer. It's school" said Juliette, she had no idea how strict her new school was. But when there's a will ... there is a way. She would message Stevie Summers whenever she could, "If you want that, you know. I know things can get messy, but I think it's worth the risk. If you want a clean break, we can do that. I promise you, it's whatever will make you happy makes me happy" Juliette rambled, snuggling up to Stevie, putting her head on the other girl's chest. She could hear her heartbeat, it was soothing. She knew she said she was okay with a clean break, but she didn't know if her heart could take any more today.
Stevie looked at Juliette with a sad smile as she listened to her coming up with some way for them to communicate. She would do anything to keep this relationship going, Juliette was all she wanted. She'd wait for her, she didn't care. Her smile faded as the girl gave out the suggestion that they could completely end things right now if Stevie really wanted to. "No, I want to make this work. I know we can." she said, trying to stay as hopeful as possible. They talked online for two years, what's a couple more? She held onto Juliette tightly as she ran her fingers through the girl's hair. "As fuckin' corny as it is, you'll always be worth the risk."
Juliette looked up at the girl as she held her tight, "I just want to be with you. Every day, even if I don't get to hug you or kiss you. I just want to be with you, even if it's online" said the girl, starting to cry again. "I know it's selfish and I know it's going to hurt but we can make it work. I know we can. If it is ever too much, we should have a word. A word we never use unless we're calling it. I don't know what it should be, I feel like I'm forgetting every word I've ever known" she rambled, holding onto Stevie tighter and tighter. Her heart ached, her lungs hurt. She felt like she couldn't breathe. "Just one word and we have to promise to follow it" said the girl, swallowing hard. "A word I am never going to want to say, and never will say. But just in case, if one of us is hurting too much." She couldn't imagine a time where she wouldn't want to be with Stevie, she needed her. She made Juliette who she was. She had changed everything.
The sound of Juliette crying only made Stevie cry as well, this was all happening too fast. "It's not selfish, this is what I want too. I don't want to give up on us." she told her. She couldn't fathom the idea of them not even trying. She had to at least try, she wanted to. This was the only option they had to keep their relationship going. "R-Right. Yeah, a safe word." It made sense for them to acknowledge the possibility that this wouldn't work out between them, but Stevie didn't want to think of that. She stayed silent for a moment, trying to figure out some word to use. She didn't want to completely disagree with the idea, she needed to be realistic, but picturing that situation hurt too much. "Uh, I don't know," she paused, she could hear how shaky her voice was getting. "Bygone?" she suggested. Stevie never used the word anyways, and she knew she would never use it. There was no way.
Of course she didn't want to think about them breaking up, but they needed a word that said I love you but we have to stop. If they spoke that word, it would mean they couldn't talk about it or fight about it. It was important to have it set up. "Now my least favorite word in the english language, officially" said Juliette as she nodded. "I love you so much Stevie, it hurts" said the brunette. She  was latched on. Juliette was not one for physical contact most of the time, but with Stevie it was different. She felt like she was recharged every time they even held hands. Juliette wanted to stay here forever, just stuck on this girl. Her beautiful girl. The most beautiful girl.
"Same, never going to say it again." Stevie shook her head, believing that to be the truth. She couldn't ever see herself wanting to breakup with Juliette. Being apart was going to be difficult, but it would be all worth it in the end. She would do anything for Juliette. "I love you too. So much." Stevie said back, her voice cracking a bit. They were so happy a few days ago, and to think that it all turned out like this. It was crushing her. She had found someone so loving and gentle, someone she trusted with her whole heart, and the universe was ripping her away from Stevie. "Do you know what time you're leaving tomorrow? Do you think I'll have time to sneak in one last goodbye, or... or is this it?"
Juliette knew she had an 8 am flight, and breakfast with her family before hand. This really was it. She didn't know how to tell Stevie, so she pulled the girls lips to hers to distract her. To distract herself as well. She never felt really at home surrounded by these walls, she felt at home in front of her laptop talking to Stevie. She felt at home when she felt the familiar buzz from her cell phone against her chest as she carried her books from class to class, her phone delicately placed on top so that she could read a message at the drop of a hat. She felt at home in her arms. She made the world so much less lonely, and she was about to be lonely again. "I leave at 8 am, and we have family breakfast beforehand" she whispered quietly as she nuzzled into the crook of the other girls neck, letting out a defeated breath. "So this is it, for now" she said, praying that someday she would be able to see her again. Two years wasn't that long. They could pick the same college, and then they would be together full time. That would be the dream.
Stevie deepened the kiss the moment their lips met, she knew these would be the last kisses they would share for a very long time. Worst-case scenario, it would be the last ever. Being with Juliette, it just felt like it was where Stevie belonged. At times, she felt so out of place. When it came to where she lived, the family she had, she always seemed like some kind of outsider. Juliette never made her feel like that, she was the happiest when she was with her. Online or in person. Her chances to see Juliette right before she left the next morning already seemed slim, but hearing Juliette say that this was it felt like a punch to the gut. She held onto the girl and tried to control her breathing a bit, if she didn't, she knew she'd let out a terrible sob. "For now." she repeated. "I won't give up on us." she sat up so she could look Juliette in the eyes. "I promise." she said as she pushed the girl's hair back to get a good look at her before placing a soft kiss on her forehead. Sometimes when Stevie looked at her long enough, she'd think about how crazy it was that she found someone so beautiful, inside and out.
Juliette took the other girl's hand and held it with both of her hands, "Who knows, maybe I'll finally get my growth spurt and I'll tower over you" she teased, "you'll hardly recognize me". The second half of her joke hurt, the idea that Stevie, her Stevie, wouldn't recognize her. A smile still on her tear stained face, she looked at the other girl for a moment. "But have no fear, there will be outfit updates, and a uniform" said Juliette, "so obviously there will be pictures". She thought about the photos she had printed of Stevie, already packed away with her things. "You are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me" she said softly, pulling her hand closer to her mouth to give it a kiss. "My parents are going to realize they're ridiculous and send me back here before you know it. No way they're going to make me live in the woods for the summers. It's barbaric. Me? In the woods? I may perish" she said dramatically.
"You? Taller than me? That would be the shock of the century." she chuckled as she thought about it. "I'd know those legs anywhere, you kiddin' me?" she shook her head as she smiled. Stevie Summers not recognizing Juliette Hastings? Could never happen. Hearing about the outfit updates and uniforms was some kind of a silver lining. Stevie loved a good outfit pic from her girlfriend, she had the cutest sense of style. "And I'll send videos whenever I come up with a song. I'll sing in them too, just for an added bonus." Stevie didn't sing too much, but she was never nervous around Juliette. She watched as her girlfriend kissed her hand. That, matched with her words, sent chills down her spine. Any kind of touch from Juliette always felt like the first time, she never got tired of it. "Maybe your cousin's parents can knock some sense into them?" she suggested lightheartedly. "I'm sure they'll want to see you for the summers anyways. They'll miss you so much, they'll for sure cave."
There was this kind of gleeful smile that appeared on Juliette's face when her girlfriend said she would sing, her cheeks ached and little lines appeared around her eyes. Her eyes were filled with a look of love and pure joy, "You're going to sing for me?" she said, practically glowing. Juliette dropped the girl's hand and encapsulated her in a hug, peppering kisses all over her face. "You make me the happiest I have ever been in my entire life" she said, and it was true. She had never been this happy. Everything good had come to her with Stevie, before she only had Montag and Jonah ... and Montag wasn't exactly a rock in her life. He had his moments, but still. "I'm taking bets now, the next time I see you, you are going to be even more beautiful than I remember. Which seems impossible, but I am willing to bet against the odds" she said sweetly. She wanted to focus on when they would finally see each other again.
"As many videos as you want." Stevie said sweetly. The look on Juliette's face made her forget the situation they were in for a short moment. She took every kiss her girlfriend was giving her with a big smile on her face. It was just like a normal day for them, like nothing in the world could go wrong when she was with her. "I can't even explain in words what you've done for my life." she spoke softly before kissing Juliette deeply. If it wasn't for Juliette, Stevie wouldn't be the person that she was today. She still had a lot to work on, but she was so different from who she was before meeting the girl. Stevie was so worried about what people thought and did anything to please others. She felt like she had to do what they said just so she'd be liked, because being just herself wasn't enough. Being from the family she was in was already such an embarrassment. But Juliette loved her for who she was and, in time, Stevie began to love herself too. "Nah, I think that'll be all you, I'm willing to bet money on it. We're both pretty hot, but we all know you're the pretty one in this relationship." she chuckled.
When Stevie kissed her, even on a regular day, she felt like she was on cloud 9. It was like being kissed for the first time, only better because ... less spit or teeth or whatever was wrong with every person's first kiss. When Stevie said that she was the pretty one in the relationship, Juliette put her hands on either side of the other girl's face and looked at her very sternly. "You stop that, you are the most beautiful person I have ever seen on the entire planet. You are prettier than poetry, Stevie Summers" she said before pulling her in for another kiss. Then her discord started blowing up. Juliette quickly ran over to the computer and read Montag's message. Five more minutes. "Five minute warning from Montag, parents are finishing their program and are coming upstairs to check on my packing in ten and I need to be safely back in my room. How do you want to use your last five minutes?" Juliette asked in a panic. She wanted these last five minutes to last a lifetime, and she didn't know how to use it. Part of her wanted to spend it crying, the other answer was definitely making out, another being that Juliette should just run away, and of course there was just saying I love you like a million times.
Stevie chuckled as Juliette grabbed her face to tell her how beautiful she was, but her last comment made her heart skip a beat. You are prettier than poetry, Stevie Summers. Her expression softened into a small, genuine smile before their lips met. She looked over at Juliette once she headed towards the computer to check her discord. Five minutes. This was it. It was all coming to end, but Stevie tried her best to keep herself calm. For her and her girlfriend's sake. "Um, I don't know." she looked around the room as if she was looking for something, but they were in Montag's room. There was nothing useful here. "I would sing to you one last time if I had my fucking guitar." she forced a laugh as her eyes started to well up. It was hitting her hard now. Juliette was really leaving, and she wasn't going to see her, at least until summer, and that was only if they were lucky. This might be the last time she ever sees her. What if Juliette loved her time over there and wanted to stay? What if they end up graduating and she's still not back? They'll go to different colleges. There might not be any hope for them at that point. "I love you so much. So fucking much, Juliette Hastings." she said as she got up from the bed and wrapped her arms around the girl tightly. "Everyone's gonna love you over there, I just know it."
The girl paced for a moment while they figured out what they wanted to do. It was so sweet that Stevie wanted to sing to her, but she didn't want to say goodbye at all. Juliette loved the tight squeeze she was getting, and she moved her arms up to around Stevie's neck and jumped up into her arms, wrapping her legs around the other girl. "I love you so much" said Juliette, looking at her girlfriend. Her girlfriend. Her girlfriend who wanted to stay with her even though everything had gone wrong. "I don't want everyone to love me, I want to be here with you" whined the brunette, snuggling into the crook of Stevie's neck. Life was truly so unfair. "Just um, don't say goodbye okay? It's just a see you soon" she said, placing a small kiss on her collarbone. "And the next time I see you? More intense make out than the ping pong table" she said with a smile. That was maybe the most electric kiss she had ever received in her life. She had been reeling for hours over it.
Stevie placed a hand under Juliette's thigh to support her up as she wrapped her legs around Stevie's body. She tried to take in the sight that was right in front of her. Sure, she'd see the girl in pictures while she was away, but this was the last time she was able to be this close to her. They were so used to only talking online, that being with Juliette in person made it even more special. "I'll be there with you." she tried to reassure her girlfriend the best she could. "I'll be blowing up your phone 24/7, don't you worry about it." she promised with a smile. "Yeah. I'll see you soon." she said softly before putting the girl down and gently kissing her forehead. Stevie couldn't help but laugh a bit when their ping pong table kiss was brought up. Sometimes it felt like that happened just the other day, but other times it seemed so long ago. It felt like she had been with Juliette for a whole lifetime, and she didn't want it to end. She wouldn't let it. "I'm up for that challenge. I won't disappoint, babe."
Juliette looked at the other girl, doing her best to savor these last moments. She was never one for physical affection before, but being with Stevie changed that for her. She had someone that she wanted to be physically in the same room with at all times, that kind of intimacy was unmatched. She pulled Stevie in for another hug. "I think our time is up" she whispered, it hurt her lungs to say it. "Parting is such sweet sorrow, That I shall say good night till it be morrow" quoted Juliette as she opened the window again, tears filling up in her eyes. She couldn't believe time had been so cruel to them, they had hardly been together for a few months in person. She wanted a lifetime with this girl, she made everything worth it.
Stevie closed her eyes while holding onto Juliette as she nodded in response, she couldn't even speak. It was too painful. Hearing Juliette quote Shakespeare put a small smile on her face, even in times like this, she still managed to act adorable. She walked over to the her girlfriend and cupped the sides of her face to give her one last kiss. "I'll see you around, Hastings." she looked at the girl with glossy eyes before giving a playful wink. Once she was out the window and on the balcony, she turned around to look at Juliette, "I love you." she managed to get the words out without completely breaking down. She felt like a broken record at this point, but she didn't care. Telling Juliette that she loved her would never lose its meaning, no matter how many times she said it. Stevie then climbed down the tree she came from and walked into the forest to get her bike. Every step she took broke her a little more inside. Before riding off, she let herself cry for a moment. It was all so unfair, and Juliette had to be the one to suffer. If Stevie could take her place, she would in a heartbeat. But there was nothing she could do to fix this. Once summer rolled around though, everything would go back to the way it was. She would be with Juliette again. All Stevie had to do was wait. It would hurt, but it would be worth it in the end. Juliette Hastings would always be worth it.
Juliette kissed Stevie back softly, knowing it was their last kiss. Their last kiss for now, she reminded herself. "Can't wait, Summers" she replied. She held back her sniffling as she watched the tallest most beautiful girl of all time leave her brother's room and stand out on the balcony. Juliette watched her until she couldn't see her anymore, not able to take her eyes off of her. She quickly and quietly walked to her room and knocked softly so Montag would let her in. When he opened the door, she collapsed into his arms sobbing. "You two are going to be okay" said Montag as he rubbed her back. Juliette felt like her whole world was falling apart. "I don't know how I'm going to wake up tomorrow" she said, defeated by everything. "Well, you have to. We all have to" said Montag, still holding her up. "Cmon, let's get you packed before Mom comes in and tries to do it" said the boy as he headed over to her trunk and opened it up. //END

Reunited || Juliette and Stevie
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: open mic night // late january.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: juliette x stevie.
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒: none
𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒: juliette is wandering her new college campus and sees an open mic night sign, not knowing who also goes here.
Stevie was setting up everything with Wren and Rose at the open mic night in one of the restaurants on campus. Things were going good for their band, it wasn't like she really wanted to make it big, she just wanted to have a good time with her friends. But it was nice to get some recognition every now and then. Once it was their turn, the band got up on stage and greeted everyone. It was the first time Striking Vipers was performing here at Brindleton, so Stevie was a bit nervous. She tried to think back on all the times they performed back in their hometown as she held onto the neck of her bass guitar. It instantly reminded her of Juliette. Her ex girlfriend always went to her performances, and for a second, the thought of her calmed Stevie's nerves. But she quickly shoved the thought out of her head. She looked over at her bandmates and counted them off before they began to play Are You Bored Yet? by Wallows and Clairo
Juliette had been passing by a sign that said there were local performances. God, how she did love small bands. There was nothing better than hearing another band's take on one of her favorite songs. The gut wrenching feeling of one of your favorites sounding like the first time you heard it, but even better. Knowing that it could only come from live music, and that it would never be replicated again. She heard the opening to Are You Bored Yet? by Wallows and Clairo as she walked down the hallway, and she picked up the pace. Sapphic music? It called to her as she entered the room and got a seat at the back, and the sound of someone's voice brought her attention. It was Rosemary. Rosemary Hollingsworth. Then she saw him, Wren. And where there was Rosemary and Wren ... she was afraid to look. After a few moments, she pulled her eyes to see Stevie there, holding her bass. Juliette stared for a moment, before realizing that she was going to be seen. Her heart was pounding a mile a minute. She grabbed her purse and darted out of there, right to Florence's room. Maybe Stevie doesn't go here, just Wren or Rose does and the band had stayed together. Maybe she was just here for a minute. She hadn't seen the other girl in two years, and they hadn't talked in a long time. Stevie was blocked on everything, and Juliette was blocked on hers. How was she to know? //END

Lexi’s House Party || Juliette and Stevie
𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: hallgay @ lexi’s house party // 29th of january.
𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: juliette x stevie ( @chrysolites ).
𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐑𝐒: underage drinking.
𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒: the gays have a private talk in the hallgay.
Stevie took Juliette's hand and brought her over to the hallgay, making sure to not look suspicious in front of everyone at the party. They had to look like friends. Just friends. "Hey, Hastings." she said casually with a smile on her face. "You doing okay?" she leaned in a little closer as she spoke. She still could not believe everything that her and Juliette did and tried to do when they went clubbing with the girls.
Juliette looked up at Stevie with sad eyes, "Yeah just not ... super into partying tonight" said the girl. She was racked with guilt over the text messages she read the next day. When Juliette had promised to come out to her parents, Stevie had texted that they could finally be happy. Juliette didn't know Stevie was unhappy. "Are you mad at me?" she asked nervously, "It's okay if you are, I promise I'll make it up to you".
Stevie noticed how sad Juliette looked. She immediately went to grab her hand but stopped herself before looking around the room. "We can leave if you want to, we'll go wherever you'd like." she said with a small smile, hoping to cheer her up. It was times like these where she wished she could hold her girlfriend in her arms or give her a simple kiss on the forehead. She blinked a couple times when Juliette asked if she was mad, "Why would I be mad at you?" she shook her head.
Juliette looked around to make sure no one was in the hallway or possibly listening, "In your texts you said that we could finally be happy" said the girl apprehensively. She felt like she had really been letting Stevie down, "I just don't want them to kick me out or send me off to boarding school or something, you get that ... right?" she said, looking up at her very nice and tall girlfriend.
A wave of guilt washed over Stevie as Juliette brought up that text. Once she read back over the texts the next morning, she was more scared than anything. She didn't know how her girlfriend's parents would react, and Stevie didn't want her to be in any bad situation because they decided to drunkenly announce that Juliette was gay. On top of that, she'd say she has a girlfriend, and it was Stevie. Stevie wasn't good enough to date a Hastings, or at least that's what she believed. "No that's not- I... I didn't mean it like that." she shook her head. "I am happy, really. I just meant we could show how happy we are to others." she tried to explain. "I, yeah I get it. I know. I don't want anything to happen to you." her voice got soft as she nodded her head. Sometimes the privacy would frustrate her, but that frustration would turn into guilt. Stevie had it good. She had accepting parents, not everyone does.
"You are the most amazing girl to ever walk the planet" said Juliette with a soft smile, still feeling that guilt from the empty promises she made. "Could we watch degrassi after the party?" she asked. The girl was thinking about reaching out to hold the other girl's hand, how simple that was, to hold someone's hand. But she couldn't, and it was her own fault. All of it was Juliette's fault. But she loved her so much, and nothing said i love you between the two girls like asking to watch degrassi and fall asleep next to each other.
Stevie chuckled under breath from the compliment she received, "I don't know, I think that title goes to you." she gave the girl a quick wink as she spoke. She was worried she was starting to make Juliette feel pressured to come out. That night of clubbing was not what she was expecting, and though she really regretted the texts she sent, she was grateful for her friends for helping out. "Season 10?" she suggested with a smile. "But we'd have to watch the Shark in the Water video first. You just have to."
"I don't know how much watching I'll be able to do" she teased with a wink. She wanted to get closer with Stevie like that, especially if she wasn't able to give her the public relationship she wanted. It wasn't pressure at all, she wanted it. "C'mon. One drink won't kill me" said the girl heading over to the drinks table and pouring herself a mixed drink, "I wonder what or who Livvy is up to right now" she said as she took a long sip.
Stevie looked down at Juliette with a smirk, "I'll make sure to keep you entertained." She walked over to the drinks table and poured herself a drink as well. "One drink sounds good to me, let's try not to get too carried away this time." she let out laugh, hoping to lighten that previous situation. "I fucking hope she's hooking up with someone. She deserves to have some fun after all the bullshit she's been through."
Juliette took a sip of her drink, and laughed a little, "shut up" she said with a playful shove, "you're lucky you're cute" she added quietly. Juliette knew she had it good: an understanding girlfriend who just got everything about her. "I wonder who it would be from school? There's only going up from Jesse right? I have no idea how attractive he is. I mean he's got like ... a nice face?" she said, thinking about it. "Olivia is obviously a 10, so it's probably hard to find someone, right?"
"I am cute, thank you for noticing." Stevie flashed her teeth as she smiled widely. "Not as cute as you though." she added in, just to be cheesy, before taking a sip from her cup. "Definitely, no ones acting like more of a dick than he is right now." she responded, still bitter about her arguments with the boy. "If we're talking about physical appearance, then yeah, I think he has a nice face? Your guess is as good as mine." she said with a laugh. "Olivia? Definite 10. Maybe someone on some sports team? Some are pretty cool."
"Olivia is a definite ten" said Juliette nodding in agreement, "What about the tall one? The guy who is like 6'5", the girls in my PE class are always talking about him. Lemon? Lennon? Oh yeah it's like Lennon Paul, two beatles for the price of one" said the girl with a little laugh to herself as she took another sip of her drink.
"That fucking skyscraper? Solid choice." Stevie nodded in approval. "Not saying I'd want Jesse to get upset if that were to happen, but I think it would be pretty funny if he did get upset." she said before laughing along to Juliette's joke. She was so cute. "Let's hope she has some fun by the end of the night. We might just have to play matchmaker if she doesn't."
"OOOOOH, we would be great wingwomen" said Juliette with a smile, "But knowing Livvy, someone's gonna try to get with her tonight without any of our help". Juliette took a sip of her drink and swayed to the music coming from the other room, "More than one probably" she added, "that'll piss Jesse off for sure"
"We would be. We'd make sure she has the best guy." Stevie said proudly. "You're gonna have to get the information on all of this in that groupchat of yours later on." she said as she was looking over at Juliette. She was simply admiring her as she swayed to the music, smiling like a dork at her. "You guys ever talk about me on there?" she asked, nudging her softly.
"Oh I can definitely do that" said Juliette with a little giggle, thinking about the group chat when Stevie asked if they ever talked about her, "That's a great question, think about whatever you talk about in your group chat and there's your answer" Juliette replied, looking at Stevie and raising her eyebrow. Juliette took a sip of her drink and smiled.
Stevie stared at Juliette in silence for a minute. She was a smart girl, she was definitely not going to mention that they all talk about Chanel Hampton in there. She didn't want her girlfriend to faint. "We keep it pretty PG actually. It's called simp nation for a reason. Just gushing about our girlfriends." she said with an innocent smile.
Juliette raised an eyebrow, "You talk about me in there now?" she asked, wondering how Stevie had talked about her in the last three days now that people knew. "Well I usually just ask for advice in my group chat" Juliette replied to the initial question, "one time Gabrielle asked me how gay sex works, it was really funny" she said in a hushed tone, followed by a giggle.
"People asked how you were doing since that night, so that's all I've really talked about. But you know Chase, Wren, and Jonah. They can't stop talking about their girlfriends." Stevie tried to say casually, hoping that Juliette wouldn't find out that the boys knew way before Tuesday. She couldn't help but laugh at what Juliette said, "Chase had brought up scissoring once in ours. He was definitely joking but it got a chuckle out of me. Those little heteros."
"I think Chase jokes around Gabrielle and that's why she's inherently misinformed" said Juliette with a little laugh. Oh Chase. "So what are you planning on doing tonight? Like ... after this. This is a really bad segue, but I was just wondering if you would brave the Hastings house tonight?" she asked, quickly taking a sip of her drink.
"Makes sense, he's always joking around. I don't know how she keeps up with it." Stevie laughed it off, she loved Chase. He was a special being. She looked down at her girlfriend with a smirk on her face before hiding it quickly with a sip of her drink, "I think I got some spare time for that." she teased the girl. "Is this another Degrassi night? Just like last time?" she asked quietly.
Juliette smiled with her mouth on the rim of the cup before putting it down on the counter, "I think we deserve a little more fun than that" she added quietly with a wink. "Do you ... want to get out of here?" the girl asked, a blushing smile sweeping across her face.
Stevie's smile grew as Juliette spoke, she didn't want to push anything, so she didn't like to ask for too much too often. Hearing Juliette's suggestion was a win in itself, she'd never say no to that. "I think we should. It's getting pretty boring here anyways." she said as the smile remained on her face before walking out of the party with her. //END
