@paulee_pockets was in his last training round.It was the tenth 3 minute round of a whole bunch of training and drills . His gas tank was empty.His body was failing.His breathing was shallow- Every fighter needs to know and be taught that every 30 seconds of every round is like the last round. So when the last round comes it’s all you know-fight fight fight till the referee tells you stop. I told Paul “ breathe “. That means 3-1-3 of the #breathwork recovery system. In this state his body releases the neurotransmitters acetylcholine, norepinephrine, dopamine, histamine, and serotonin as well as cortisol. His body and brain are ready to shut down. He can try to run away from me, he can freeze up and give up or he can continue to fight. But at what capacity? If we can’t get his heart to slow down to about 145 beats per minute his cognitive and physical ability will not be very effective . So we learn to breathe , slow the heart rate, gain a second win and push through the chemical dump that has occurred.
