私たちの世界は、とても小さい原子からできていますが、原子は、さらに、小さな陽子、中性子、電子からなっています。

陽子の数が、その原子が、何の原子であるかを決めますが、電子。特に、原子核から離れたどの場所にあるかということは、科学者のとまどうところです。

一般的なボーアモデルではありませんが、最先端の物理学が導き出した場の量子論からの厳密なモデルです。

こちらが現実にもっとも近い。

すべての素粒子に適用できます。

身の回りのもの全てが、原子でできているとか。原子は、とてもとても小さいものだと知っているかもしれないね。どの原子にも核があり、少なくとも１つのプラスの電荷を持つ陽子とプラスの電荷を持つ陽子と通常、似たような数の電荷を持たない中性子からなっている。

この核の周りをマイナスの電荷を帯びた電子が飛び回っている。原子が何の原子であるかは原子核の中にある陽子の数で決まるんだ。

陽子が1つだけなら水素。陽子が６つなら炭素。79個あれば金の原子だと。全てこのように決まっている。ちょっと横道にそれてみよう。どうやって原子の構造が分かるのか？陽子､中性子､電子は、実際、人間の眼では、見ることはできない。

だから、実験を重ねて、数値化し予測するもののモデルを構築する。さらに、実験を繰り返し、結果がモデルに合うか確かめる。モデルに合えば素晴らしいが、合わなければ、新しいモデルが必要とわかる。

紀元前400年のデモクリトスの原子論以来、いろいろな原子モデルが提案されてきた。この先も新しいものが、いくつも生まれるだろう。

では、ここで本題に戻ろう。原子の核にあるものは、くっついて固まっているが、電子は自由に動き回っている。だから、化学者は電子が好きなんだ。

でも、電子は、現実の一般的な習慣とは異なっている。小さいけれど、野球のボールのように粒子としてふるまったり、水の波のようにふるまったりもする（粒子性と波動性）

実験の仕方によって、違う性質を示すんだ。特に、電子が変わっているのは、その位置がはっきり分からないこと。計測する装置が問題ではなく、この不確定さが、現在の電子のモデルになっている（不確定性原理です。この現象にも根源的な理由があります）

だから、あまりにも光速で正確な位置は測定器でもわからないが、原子核の周囲の特定の場所に電子が存在するかどうかを確率で示すことはできる（２０２０年代までは、フェムト秒まで計測できるので、その範囲内で）

だから、こんな質問もできるんだ。原子核のまわりに、95％の確率で、特定の電子がみつかる。空間を描いたらどんな形になるだろう？

実は、こんな形になる。これらは電子軌道と呼ばれ、それぞれの形は、主に軌道のエネルギーの量で決まってくる（エネルギー準位です）。軌道のエネルギーが大きいほど、電子が存在する確率が、最も高い場所は、核から、より離れていく。

ところで、なぜ？95％の確率で100％ではないのだろう？これもまた、ちょっと変わった電子のモデルが関係している。原子核からある程度離れてしまうと電子がそこで見つかる確率が減っていくが、指数関数的な減り方をする。

つまり、確率は限りなくゼロに近づくが完全にゼロにはならない（スーパーストリング理論のブレーンやトポロジーが関係している）

ということは、ある原子に属する電子が、かすかだが、ほんの短時間。ほんの少しの確率で遠く離れた宇宙の果てに存在する可能性があるわけだ。

そして、一秒間に何百万回、何千万回。それ以上の頻度で全ユニバースで同時刻に全粒子が生成されているので、かすかではない規模になります。ちなみに、崩壊（雲の性質が相転移）現象もあります。

でも、通常、電子は、原子核の近くでマイナスの電荷を持つ粒子として、濃淡のある雲の様に時間と共に変化しながら存在する。ある原子に属する電子が、他の原子に属する電子と、どう関わるかが、ほぼあらゆるものの性質などを決定する。

原子は、自分のエネルギー状態。つまり、電子を他の原子に渡したり、他の原子と共有したりできるんだ。

このような原子間の関係が、化学をおもしろいものにしている。そこらへんの石ころから複雑な生物まで、私たちが見たり聞いたり、匂いや味や手で触って感じるもの。

全ての本質が、不確定さは少々あるが、原子レベルで性質が決まっているんだ。

これらは

ディラック方程式やシュレーディンガー方程式を解くことによって、原子軌道の精密な視覚化やそのエネルギー準位の精密な量が分かります。

原子軌道とは何か？量子力学的にきちんと計算することで、すべての計算値をひとつずつプロットしていくと存在確率の雲という表現ができるようになります。

さらに、巨大なフェルミバブルと呼ばれる宇宙の構造やカバラの生命の樹、「パワーかフォースか？」の本の「意識のマップ」にも

フラクタル性があるため表現は違えど根源的に繋がっている可能性に興味を惹かれます。まだまだ、この領域は、精密な計算は一部しかできません。

シュレーディンガー方程式が、複素数の波で構成されるため、多神教的にわかりやすく言えば、あの世の波を数値化できたとも言えるが、一部しか明らかにはなっていません。

電波やマイクロ波やX線やガンマ線が、今、まさに、エネルギーとして、体を通り抜けているにも関わらず、人間の感覚器官では、まったく、認知せずに、気付かないのです。

物理学では、これらも統合して「電磁波」と呼ばれています。

マクスウェル=ボルツマン分布もあります。

マクスウェル=ボルツマン分布の発見までの過程は、複数の人物によって行われた研究が集積された結果である。

19世紀初頭、熱力学の創始者であるカルノーは、熱力学に関する2つの重要な理論を提唱した。

一つはカルノーサイクルと呼ばれる、熱エネルギーを効率的に変換する方法を示した理論である。

もう一つは、熱力学第一法則と呼ばれる、エネルギー保存の法則である。

この後、クラウジウスやコルンブ、ランクなどの研究により、熱運動論が発展していった。

熱運動論とは、物質の微視的な粒子がどのように動き回るのかを説明する学説であり、今日の統計力学の基盤となった。

19世紀後半になると、マクスウェルとボルツマンが、熱力学と統計力学を結びつけ、マクスウェル=ボルツマン分布を提唱した。

彼らは、気体分子の速度分布がこの分布に従うことを示し、熱力学と統計力学が相互に補完しあうことを証明した。

しかし、当初は批判的な意見も多く、分布の意義を理解するには時間がかかった。

20世紀に入り、エルンスト・マッハやアルバート・アインシュタインらによって、マクスウェル=ボルツマン分布の重要性が再認識され、今日の物理学の基礎となっている。

そして

マクスウェル＝ボルツマン分布は物理学や統計学で重要な概念です。

量子力学の概念にも繋がる内容で黎明期の先駆者達が、この概念を根本に発展させてます。

マクスウェル＝ボルツマン分布が無ければ量子論にも到達していません。

これは、理想気体の速度分布を表す確率分布であり、以下のような特徴があります：

熱平衡状態: マクスウェル＝ボルツマン分布は、熱平衡にある理想気体の速度分布を表現します。

つまり、気体の粒子が相互作用をすることなく、外部からのエネルギーの影響を受ける場合に成り立ちます。

速度分布: マクスウェル＝ボルツマン分布は、速度の三次元成分（x、y、z方向）に関する確率密度関数を表現します。

この分布は、速度が0に近い粒子が多く、高速の粒子が少ないことを示します。

確率密度関数: マクスウェル＝ボルツマン分布の確率密度関数は、速度の平均値、質量、および絶対温度に依存します。

この分布は、多くの物理現象や科学的な研究で利用されており、特に理想気体の振る舞いや温度、圧力、エネルギーの理解に役立っています。

同じ頃、エミリ・デュアムも独立に同様の問題に取り組みました。

彼らは、物体のエネルギーの分布を計算するために、マクスウェルの速度分布を統計力学に適用しました。

これらの発展がマクスウェル＝ボルツマン分布の形成につながりました。

この分布は、物体の粒子が熱平衡にある状態での速度分布を示す重要な統計分布として、現代物理学や工学などさまざまな分野で広く応用されています。

Have fashion trends been popularized or created by sex workers?

Hi, this is a great question but a very difficult one to answer because this happened way too often in Chinese fashion history but is also difficult to prove. I will list some instances of this from the Qing and 20th century that I came across in my readings. Sorry it took so long for me to answer, I tried to find as many examples as I could but it’s very hard :(

In my review for the costumes in The World of Suzie Wong, @d-m-a-c mentioned that the cheongsam in that movie were inspired by those worn by sex workers at the time. I wasn’t sure exactly how sex workers’ cheongsam stood out from average cheongsam, but I guess the popularity of that film and the costumes in it partially owe themselves to sex worker fashion.

There are a couple entries relating to fashion trends popularized by sex workers from the 1910s collection of Qing Dynasty accounts 清稗类钞 compiled by 徐珂 Xu Ke. This probably isn’t the most reliable source since it was written after the end of the Qing and frequently featured rumors and unverified stories, but I think it would be interesting to read. The translations are my own and not the most robust, just so that you understand the gist of the texts.

《沪妓之服饰》

同、光之交，上海青楼中人之衣饰，岁易新式，靓妆倩服，悉随时尚。而妓家花样翻新，或有半效粤妆者。出局时，怀中皆有极小银镜，观剧侑酒，随置座隅，修容饰貌，虽至醉，亦不云鬟斜軃宝髻半偏也。至光、宣间，则更奇诡万状，衣之长及腰而已。身若束薪，袖短露肘，盖欲以标新领异，取悦于狎客耳。而风尚所趋，良家妇女无不尤而效之，未几，且及于内地矣。

又有戴西式之猎帽，披西式之大衣者，皆泰西男子所服者也。徒步而行，杂稠人中，几不辨其为女矣。

Clothing of Shanghainese sex workers

In the transitional years between the Tongzhi (1861-75) and Guangxu (1875-1908) eras, fashion among the Shanghainese courtesans changed rapidly; all the beautiful clothes followed the latest trends. The prostitutes, on the other hand, came up with new modes or followed Cantonese fashion to a certain extent. During outings in the theater, they would hold these tiny glasses and wear heavy makeup. Even after drinking their hair wouldn’t become the least bit disheveled. In the Guangxu and Xuantong (1908-1912) eras their attires became more bizarre, with robes that reached just the waist. Their clothes were tight and the sleeves showed the elbows, using these strange trends to attract customers. Once the trends solidified, respectable women imitated them religiously; soon, the inland would follow suit.

There were also some who wore Western coats and hunting hats, dressed like French men. They walked by foot and mingled with the crowds, making it difficult to tell that they were women.

The phenomenon of sex workers wearing menswear is corroborated in another account from the same book.

《妓效男装》

光、宣间，沪上䘕衏中人竞效男装，且有翻穿干尖皮袍者。然《路史．后纪》云：「帝履癸伐蒙山，得妹嬉焉。一笑百媚，而色厉少融，反而男行，弁服带剑。」此女子男装之初祖也。

Prostitutes wearing men’s clothes

In the Guangxu and Xuantong eras, the sex workers of Shanghai often wore menswear, some even sporting fur trimmed coats (not sure what 干尖 describes). (A quote from an historical text I can’t understand) This was the origin of women wearing men’s clothes.

乾隆末叶，秦淮妓院之衣裳妆束，以苏为式，而彩裾广袖，兼效维扬。惟用睡鞋者颇少，咸以素帛制为小袜，似膝袴而有底，上以锦带系之，能使双缠不露，且竟夕不松脱也。其履地用方头鞋，如童子履而无后跟，即古靸鞋遗制，今之拖鞋也。灯影下曳之以行，亦复彳亍有致。

Square toed shoes of Qinhuai prostitutes

At the end of the Qianlong era, brothels in the Qinhuai region (around Nanjing) followed Suzhou fashions, with colorful collar trims and wide sleeves. Sleeping slippers were seldom worn; instead, plain silk cloths were used to make socks that were shaped like breeches but closed at the bottom. Once tied with a ribbon at the top, they concealed the feet and wouldn’t loosen even in the evening. Their shoes were square toed and without heels like children’s shoes. A relic of historical flat pumps, worn as slippers nowadays.

同、光间，沪妓所著画屧，镂空其底，中作抽屉，杂以尘香，围以雕纹，和以兰麝，凌波微步，罗韈皆芳。或有置以金铃者，隔帘未至，清韵先闻。且又有曳男子履者，绣以蝴蝶，虽镂金错采，制作精工，而行步则绝无婀娜之致矣。

Painted shoes of Shanghai prostitutes

In the Tongzhi and Guangxu eras, the prostitutes of Shanghai wore painted shoes. The soles were hollow and contained drawers, which were carved and filled with aromas. Some attached bells, whose clangs were heard before the person was seen. Some wore men’s shoes and embroidered them with butterflies; although they were gilded and immaculately made, walking with them was not particularly elegant.

I have read some theories about how the 1910s and 20s 文明新装 aoqun was invented or at least popularized by sex workers pretending to be students, but I have no proof. Some people also say that cheongsam was invented by sex workers, which isn’t supported by real evidence and could potentially be a misunderstanding due to the many hyper sexualized versions of the cheongsam floating about nowadays. However I wouldn’t really be surprised if it were true, since sex workers were usually very innovative when it comes to fashion.

Oh and I know of something that wasn’t popularized by the sex worker herself but rather the movie adaptation of her story. 小凤仙 Xiaofengxian was a prostitute in the 1910s who apparently helped one of her suitors, a famous general, escape Beijing, and the heavily embellished story was turned into a popular movie source material. In the 1953 movie adaptation of her story, the lead actress 李丽华 Li Lihua was given an updated, fashionable New Look version of the aoku (robe and pants) outfit Xiaofengxian wore in real life, and the style blew up overnight. Eventually it became so popular that some people mistake it for a traditional wedding ensemble, whereas in reality it was the 1950s take on a normal 1910s outfit worn by a prostitute...

Taobao search result for “凤仙装” (Fengxian attire). A lot of things have changed in the popular perception... The pants became a skirt and the tall ingot collar is worn folded, but the namesake of this type of clothing is still a sex worker :3

トレンディ歌謡に抱かれて　第３７回：EVERYTHING PLAY「LOU LOU MON AMOUR」

関西にwai wai music resortというヤンガ・ゼネレーションの兄妹グループがおります。去る10月に開催された「tiny pop fes」で来京しライブを行い、筆者もそのパフォーマンスを目撃することができました。所謂「モンド」的な要素を大事にしつつも、そこからヨリ日常へと融解させる方向性（および熱量）が感じられ、「あ、これは新しい音楽なんだ」と気付いた次第。当ブログで筆者が何度も指摘している通り、過ぎ去ったブームやタームとは「地層」のようなもので、きっかけさえあれば急に表出されたり、あるいは思い出されたりします （モチロン「トレンディ」も「いま・ここ」と縁も所縁もないユートピア感覚では決してありません） 。音楽はしばしばその媒介になり、そのことを彼らはきっとどこか了解した音楽を演っているのではないでしょうか…..全楽曲を手掛けているエブリデ氏は「CITY DIVER」という繁華街研究ZINE（のプロトタイプ版）をLocal Visionsからデジタル・リリースしており、そこでは今は無くなってしまった、繁華街の名店・良店・多分そうでもなさそうな店がアーカイヴされています。原型をとどめないようなビルになってしまった場所もあれば、どこか面影のある所も（もちろん現役のお店も）ある。そうした「すべてが一気に変わってしまった再開発」ではない部分がそのまま反映されたかのように、このZINEには消えた思い出を慈しむような感覚と、街を生態学のように捉えるアパセティックな感覚の両方が見え隠れします。筆者の「トレンディ・ディグ」もこのあいだで揺れる部分が多々あり、その点で（一方的かも知れませんが）シンパシーを感じているんですね。この揺れの振り幅は「”現行で鳴らされる音”を考えるための二点透視」のポイントのようなものだと思っています。ヴェイパー以降と言っていいのか、ここ数年の「日本の過去の音楽」への視座は海外経由、国内発とあって要するに「複眼的」です。そこに自分の身体を「ナウ」としてきちんと置くためにはどうしたらいいのかーこの「二点透視」は（ 筆者の世代的な）最適解でもあるわけです。

 前置きが長くなってしまいましたが、「筆者筆者うるさい文章」が書けて大満足。さて今回紹介するのはその「tiny pop fes」（このようなイベントでした→ http://www.ele-king.net/review/live/007218/）で彼らがカヴァーしていた楽曲のオリジナルが入ったアルバムです。どうぞ！

  SOUICHIRO SUZUKI：SONGS MAHITO FUJIWARA：ARRANGEMENTS MIKIKO OUCHI：VOCAL MINA SHIDA：VOCAL

   名伯楽、鈴木惣一郎がワールド・スタンダードを一時解消・発展させるような形でトレンディ期に名乗っていたのがエブリシング・プレイ（名付け親はかの長門芳郎氏！）。お蔵入りを経てリリースされたエキゾ大魔境盤「POSH」など、美島豊明をパートナーに迎えた作品は各所でレビューがなされていますが、当盤は比較してチト地味な扱いのファースト・アルバム（FOND/SOUNDにはアツいレビューが掲載されていてとても参考になりました→ https://www.fondsound.com/everything-play-lou-lou-mon-amour-%e3%83%ab%e3%83%bc%e3%83%ab%e3%83%bb%e3%83%a2%e3%83%8a%e3%83%a0%e3%83%bc%e3%83%ab-1987/）。エキゾやモンドというタームよりむしろ（PZV「カップルズ」とも比較可能な）ソフト・ロック的意匠が全面に出ており、トータライズされた大きな世界観よりも1曲1曲の丁寧な佳曲性を噛みしめられる作品となっています。鈴木氏のバイオの中でもこうした作品は異色なのではないでしょうか。

  １．ルールー・モナムール

（作曲 SOUICHIRO SUZUKI ’87）

可愛らしいオルゴール音で始まるプレリュード、と書くとミレニウムの「ビギン」を思い出す人も多そうですが、その後の展開はまさにそうしたバーバンク的な、メリーゴーランド的絢爛音の洪水。しかし音飾はあくまでトレンディ。「おしゃれTV」的な「機械の良さ」ですね。

２．アミチェ・アムール

（作詞・作曲 SOUICHIRO SUZUKI ’87）

ポンツクポンポン、密室リズムボックスで始まりますが、爽快な歌モノです。ものすごく複雑なコード進行のAメロから一気に視界が開けるサビが素晴らしい。

３．エルフェ

（作詞・作曲 SOUICHIRO SUZUKI ’87）

南欧的な感じもある、すっ呆けた雰囲気のボーカル曲。完全打ち込みの良さが全面に出ていて「ゲーム音楽のリゾート」のように響きます。これはかなり「今」のモード。

４．オリーヴの青

（作曲 SOUICHIRO SUZUKI ’87）

ゴンチチのような「観光インスト」の趣きがあるセンチな佳曲。麗しいマンドリンで始まりますが、そこから先はやはり鈴木印。鉄琴風リードの合間にシンセのハンドクラップ音をトレンディに鳴らしたり、逆回転っぽいシンセ音が出てきたりと才気走っています。当初は歌詞付きだったそう。

５．恋人たちの過ごした時間

（作詞・作曲 SOUICHIRO SUZUKI ’87）

前曲から微妙に音を持続させてジラしつつの大名曲。件のwai wai music resortはこの曲をカヴァーしていました。もちろんソフト・ロック的意匠ではあるのですが、それ以上に鈴木氏の「シンガー・ソングライター」（歌っているのは大内さんですが）的パーソナル・モードが感じられます。

６．パッション・ダモーレ

（作曲 SOUICHIRO SUZUKI ’87）

XTCっぽい元気なリズムで引っ張るパワポ系インスト。合間合間に少し翳りを持たせていて、やはりこの盤は「内省」がキータームにあるなと思わせますね。

７．休日

（作詞・作曲 SOUICHIRO SUZUKI ’87）

こちらも本当に素晴らしい「シンガー然とした」ミニマル感覚のポップス。歌詞に同時期の小西康陽と共通する翳り・倦怠があるように聴こえます。同世代のふたり、80年代の狂騒からこの時期は少し離脱したいモードだったのかも。

８．S・A・Y・O・N・A・R・A

（作詞・作曲 MARCUCCI & DE ANGELUS）

初期ワルスタや次作「POSH」との関連を一番感じさせる、リラキシンでエキゾなカヴァー曲。間奏でムーディーなボイスを響かせているのは小林克也です。

以上8曲とあっという間ですが、その長さがチョウドイイ。好きな人はほんとに好きになってしまうこと請け合いの可愛らしい微名盤でした。この感じが気に入った方は「MANNA」や「Flat Face」といった同時代アーティストもチェックしてみて下さいね。
