sorry it’s incredibly domestic lmao i wasn’t sure if i wanted to post it but i need soft things in my life and i think they are allowed to be sweet as a treat every now and then (i’ll spare them the horrors for now)

vegas definitely gets that overwhelming feeling of like “holy fuck i love you ???” after looking over at pete and seeing like the curve of his cheek or the bow of his lip or the way his hair fans out on the pillow. just tiny details that only he gets to see up close and the flood of emotions that come from that realization

and of course he has no idea wtf to do with that so he’s probably kinda weird about it but like

same

COWBOY BIG 🐄

Big is definitely one of the oldest ranch hands on the main family land, if not the oldest

he’s sort of always been there, a lot of people assume he did something as a child that Korn helped save him from in exchange for working the ranch, and that’s why he is so loyal to the family but it’s all very hush hush because Big is not exactly the sharing type

most of the ranch hands have a spotty past as it is, and most of them are “indebted” to Korn in some way

(Arm and Pol have a running wager with questionable yet growing “evidence” that it was some sort of murder that Korn helped him cover up)

overall he’s very dedicated to the ranch, he works hard and doesn’t say much until Porsche shows up and fucks everything up 24/7

Arm and Pol 100% have a small collection of photos where Big has fallen asleep with the cows

Ken is the only one who knows how Big got to the ranch but he likes to tell really outlandish lies to A&P to try and see what they will believe because he finds it funny watching them try to see if he’s telling the truth or not

THE THEERAPANYAKUL BROTHERS 🐄

(part 2/? of my little cowboy au)

ok this is so rushed but i had this thought and i wanted to share it:

you may be thinking to yourself, wouldn’t it make more sense for Kinn, Kim, and Tankhun to be called the Theerapanyakul brothers ? they’re the three sons of the main family (ranch?) after all

and my answer to that is no.

i believe these two should be deemed the Theerapanyakul brothers because they act like brothers.

Kinn, Kim, and Tankhun are disjointed, their actions reflect what they want for themselves and they’re not even with each other most of the time.

here i imagine things similar to canon- Kinn is the next in line to inherent the ranch system, Kim no longer works on the land at all and lives in the city but still lingers around the rodeo to get a feel for what is going on at the ranch, and Khun lives on the property but for some reason was deemed unfit to handle the system

Vegas and Macau however (at least for the sake of this au) work in tandem, and Vegas holds Macau’s interest in mind as he makes decisions.

(can’t let father destroy Macau the way he has destroyed me etc etc)

Thus i believe that Kinn Kim and Khun would be better off titled The Theerapanyakul Sons.

i don’t know what this has to do with cattle ranching, but i think that the titles are important/interesting to differentiate between 😅

thinking about young vegas and macau makes me so violently upset

little macau wanting to be just like his big brother and vegas praying to god every night that he never does

(Vegas wanting to shield macau from their father and their life will never not be devastating to me)

i wish we got to know their canon ages in the show, vegas is supposed to be early teens here but the scowl seems to be kinda aging him :,) pete asks vegas how old he was there and honestly he has no clue. He’d grown up too fast, felt old for so long the years started to blur together and he doesn’t recognize himself. he counts up from the age he thinks macau is, and goes from there

aaa!!! this has been cooking in my brain for a while, i feel like the mafia plot could transfer over in some ways to western cattle rancher type drama

a system of cattle ranches for the major and minor family

instead of bodyguards it’s ranch hands that have been taken in by the heads of the house and live on the property to tend to the ranches (brings in the devotion to the family that way)

from there you can add the power struggle conflict and all that with the smaller ranch wanting to have control of the system

just think about how fun that would be ! i’d like to draw more of the characters /expand on this eventually but idk what do y’all think ? :0

Responsibility

twas thinking about my other vegas post where i had wondered if Vegas had taught Macau how to tie his shoes and i’ve been plagued with the thought ever since. Just the usual, loss of childhood over the burden of responsibility at a young age, type deal.

i feel like there is a lot to be said about the emotional manipulation with the hedgehogs and how Vegas’s empathy is real it’s just kinda buried away. idk it’s just hard to shake the thought of Vegas being a little boy, craving his fathers love and trying to be as good as possible, caring for his hedgehogs and his little brother, but over time things change and hedgehogs die and fathers get meaner. Vegas wants to hide Macau away but at the same time he fears this family is all they were meant for, and one day he’ll fail Macau and lose him too because of course Vegas was always meant to be alone.

Which is why i think it’s so important that Pete verbalizes that he’ll stay with Vegas in the hospital despite him having “nothing left” because its almost like he’s assuring Vegas that he was always more than just a part of the minor family. Pete truly saw Vegas and it simply makes me unwell

!!! i can’t believe it’s been a whole year since kpts came out ! i know this is a little rushed rough but so is Vegas and he simply holds a very dear place in my heart

what can i say, his crying and fits of rage compelled me <3

when i first started watching kpts Porsche was definitely my favorite ! but because i had such a hard time drawing Apo (too beautiful) i would get really frustrated trying to make stuff about him and i’d never let it see the light of day lol.

Except for this one sketch sheet from all the way back in may of last year where i managed to draw one (1) good Porsche and he is making the most sarcastic face ever.

Which i feel just fits.

currently trying to convince myself that the faster i get this paper over with the faster i can get back to drawing vegaspete being silly and sappy, and who else is more silly and sappy than patpran yk ? so i give you this doodle of my favorite guys all wrapped into one 🫶

i do have a hard time sometimes thinking about what pete would wear post kp.. we get to see some elements of his style when he goes out with tankhun but i just wonder how much of it is really his. I guess also thinking about how so much of his wardrobe was just suits and tracksuits and how empty his closet would be after he resigns. I want to see what he wears when he’s no longer asked to be a machine

i feel like Big has no idea how to like., regulate his emotions if that makes sense ? he feels big things but he doesn’t know how to express it so it just comes out as being a dick lmao - i know none of those characters have had a good cry in eons and i just think it would do them some good

coloring is my biggest weakness and i’ve been kinda dreading figuring out how to finish this lol but i want to fix up his face and the lighting and all that eventually

the knowledge that xue yang is a couple inches taller than vegas haunts me (it’s like two but still)

songxuexiao are designed off the modern au me and some friends made over the summer that i might post about if i work up the willpower :,)
