It’s a secret
A/N: I pretty much am always going to write my Peter Parker fics as vaguely as possible so that you can read it as whichever Spider-Man is your favorite. I’m also super sorry I haven’t written a sequel to Sorry I’m Awkward, I’m working on it. Marked as gender neutral, let me know if you think it’s not.
Genre: fluff
Warning: (legal) drinking
Word count: 2200
Pairing: Peter Parker x reader
Summary: You get a little drunk, but you still know how to keep a secret.
Masterlist
You had known Peter Parker since elementary school. You weren’t best friends, barely in overlapping social circles throughout school. You shared that kind of friendship that most people have with the people they knew when they were seven: always willing and happy to chat, but not incredibly close. Both in honors classes throughout high school, you knew each other pretty well when you went to university together. You got closer during that time mainly because neither of you really knew anyone else and a familiar face was definitely welcomed.
In high school, you remembered Peter being kind of a weird person in your peripheral, disappearing every once in awhile (read: all the time) and coming in with a bruise or four. However, you weren’t close enough that you looked into it or asked about it. That changed in college.
You were smart. Obviously, it took you less than a month of perfectly timed disappearances and one interaction with the one and only Spider-Man to make the connection. You were also smart enough to know that since Peter hadn’t told you his super secret, he probably didn’t want you knowing. You weren’t offended by that, it was his secret to tell. But he really did need to work on being more subtle about it. The boy was incredibly lucky everyone in the world was completely oblivious.
You made it through three years of university with Peter, working together on homework, meeting up for meals, and just generally spending time with each other. Like any normal person spending an excessive amount of time with a cute, sweet boy, you caught some feelings. Thankfully, you were pretty good at staying inconspicuous with your crush and he was an oblivious idiot, so nothing had to change. You were much better at keeping secrets than he was, and he was much less observant than you. There was also definitely a small part of you that had always had a crush on Spider-Man, but you pretended that didn’t factor in at all.
In those three years of university, you never told Peter that you knew. Of course, you didn’t tell anyone else either, and you couldn’t talk to your closest friend about it because that friend was Peter and… There wasn’t much to be done about it, really. You kept it to yourself and tried not to worry too much.
One weekend near the end of your junior year, you were invited to a party. Parties weren’t usually your scene, but you were allowed a plus one and you were both finally old enough to drink legally. It was exciting to actually experience college the way you’re supposed to. All it took to convince Peter to agree was batting your eyelashes a few times and telling him that you would go alone if he didn’t join you. Like any good friend, he knew how bad of an idea that was, so he swiftly agreed.
You showed up to the party, excited to finally have what is universally considered to be an integral part of the college experience. You were also looking forward to relaxing a little and maybe seeing Peter a little drunk.
What you didn’t realize was that you were an incredible lightweight and that Peter essentially assigned himself to be your babysitter, staying sober and pretending to drink when you started to get suspicious. About two (four? five? who knows?) drinks later, you were incredibly tipsy and Peter decided to take you home. He grabbed your things and guided you out the door, ready to walk back to your apartment building. It was pretty chilly when you stepped out, which he only really noticed when you burrowed further into his side than you already were from him supporting you. He shed his hoodie and wrapped it around your shoulders, knowing it was a pointless effort to get your arms in the sleeves. He got you about a block before you started talking.
“Peter is so nice to me,” you mused, giggling a little. “I remember him seeming a little weird in high school, though. Turns out he’s really weird.” He huffed a laugh next to you at that assessment.
He realized that you were either thinking out loud or didn’t know he was walking with you. Either way, he let you keep going, curious as to what you might say.
“Peter has a seeeeecret. He doesn’t want to tell me though.” You sounded a little sad at that. That definitely perked the webhead’s interest. He also came to the conclusion that you were talking to whoever was listening as though they were a brick wall. “He doesn’t know I know about his secret though, so don’t tell him. I’m not going to tell you what it is though, it’s a secret.”
At least drunk you had a sense of secret keeping.
“What kind of secret Y/N? Do you know what it is?” He just wanted to know if he could get you to let him in on the secret. There was no way you knew. Right?
“It’s a big secret. I can’t tell you what it is, I’m a good friend.” You got a thoughtful look on your face suddenly. “What if I’m not a good friend? Is that why he won’t tell me?” At that point, you just kind of trailed off and looked at the ground. It broke Peter’s heart a little, how forlorn you looked. The issue was, he didn’t know if you meant the secret or maybe just the fact that he liked you or that he slept with socks on. The possibilities were endless and sometimes you could exaggerate the gravity of things. He remembered how worked up you got to tell him that you had accidentally thrown out a copy of a paper that he definitely had on his computer.
Of course, knowing he liked you was a big thing, but he didn’t think they were on the same level of secret, and he didn’t think that was what you meant anyway.
You walked in silence all the way back to the apartment, both thinking about what to say. When he unlocked the door with his key, you looked up at him and your eyes widened. “Peter! You’re here!” You smiled dopily at him and grabbed his arm in excitement. “Was the party fun?” You looked at him so sweetly that he could only smile and nod.
“Any time spent with you is fun.” You beamed at him and stumbled through the doorway. He gently caught you before you could fall and lead you to your room. He grabbed a T-shirt and some shorts that he knew you liked to sleep in and turned to hand them to you, only to realize you were already shimmying out of your jeans. All he could do was blush and turn back around. He listened to you struggle for a few minutes, unsure of what to do. When you had been silent for a minute, he slowly turned around, worried about what he would see. What he saw nearly killed him in the best way.
Your clothes were strewn across the room and you had snuggled into bed wearing his hoodie, zipped up with your arms clutching at some of the material. You were an absolute mess and still managed to be adorable to him. He set the clothes back on the dresser and went to shut out the light and leave the room. He couldn’t help himself and kissed you on the forehead before heading to his own room for the night.
--
You woke up with minimal hangover and fuzzy memories. You were grateful that you seemed to be able to move without pain. You realized quickly that you were in your bed in nothing but Peter’s hoodie and your underwear. You weren’t really sure how you got there, but the hoodie was comfy so who were you to complain. You slowly got out of bed, seeing that it was nearing noon, and slipped on your sleep shorts that were sitting on the dresser. You checked that you looked at least a little presentable before opening the door. Peter was at the counter, working on his computer and turning when you stepped out.
“Morning sunshine,” he grinned, pulling out the seat next to him for you. You sat down and leaned your head on his shoulder.
“What happened last night? Oh god, that sounds like such a cliche,” you muttered, embarrassed. Hearing Peter chuckle, you only got more worried. You burrowed your face a little further.
“Well, we found out you’re a lightweight. Then we walked back to the apartment as you told me many times that Peter has a secret.” His tone went from teasing to awkward and you weren’t sure what to say. Your eyes widened a little bit as you sat up, but you didn’t know whether you told him you knew the secret or not. “You also worried a lot that you weren’t a good friend.” You blushed a little at that.
“Did I tell you Peter’s secret?” you asked shyly.
“No. In fact, you were so worried about being a good friend that you wouldn’t even tell me my own secret. Although, I don’t think you knew you were talking to me. Would you be willing to tell me my secret now?” You could tell he just honestly wanted to know, but you didn’t want to tell him.
“I’m not sure you want me to know your secret Pete, since you never told me. We can just pretend that there is no secret and go back to normal,” you offered. You didn’t mean to sound hurt, but you had to admit that you were a little hurt by it. Did he not trust you?
“I honestly just want to know if you know what I think you know, because I promise I’m not upset that you know, I just want to figure out where we stand.” This tiptoeing around the secret was confusing your fuzzy brain and you didn’t think you could keep it up any more. You just needed to say it without saying it.
“I always wondered why you had muscles, you know.”
Now, some part of your brain was aware that that was a very very stupid way to come out and say it, but you were just so tired of thinking. It didn’t matter that much though, because you saw him smile in relief and laugh a little. A moment later though, the smile molded into a smirk as he looked at you.
“Was that all, Y/N? Just my muscles?” You punched him in the shoulder, blushing a little.
“It didn’t hurt,” you mumbled. Before he could process that, you started talking again. “You’re also just horrible at being sneaky or secretive. One of your few flaws,” you added.
“I’m sure the fact that you’re super intelligent helped you figure it out.”
“That and your voice,” you joked. “How does no one else notice?”
He shrugged and shook his head. You were both still dancing around it a little, but you knew you were on the same page.
After a moment, you realized something. “Was there some other secret?”
His, “What?” was a little too quick to be normal. A cheshire grin slowly spread across your face as you leaned towards him.
“Another secret, Peter Parker? What is it? Am I not a good enough friend?” You pouted at him and made your eyes as big as possible, hoping to guilt him into it.
He cleared his throat and glanced down at his hoodie that you were still wearing as his cheeks quickly heated up. “That hoodie looks really good on you.”
Suddenly losing all gusto and becoming a shy butterfly once more, you looked down and ignored the blush rising in your face as well. He laughed at the face you made and kissed you on the cheek. “That’s my other secret,” he said, getting up and heading towards his room. He came back out a moment later with his backpack and a pair of shoes. He started putting them on before your brain began functioning again.
“Wait!” you said loudly before you had figured out the jumble in your head. He looked up at you, and all you could ask was, “Where are you going?”
“The library.”
You watched him for a second. “Can I come?” You never usually asked, but you were suddenly very unsure of yourself.
Peter smiled at you and seemed to take pity. “How about I go grab lunch and bring it here so we can hang out?”
“I’d like that.” He nodded and got up to walk towards the door before you called out to him again. He looked at you curiously as you worked up your nerve. “Do you want to… go out tonight?” You really hoped you were reading this right.
He grinned at you and nodded. “Sounds like a date.”

When You meet the Avengers
Summary: You have been dating Peter for quite some time, not only has he been talking about his internship and Mr. Stark, apparently he’s been talking about you as well. You meet Mr. Stark for the first time, but also your favorite Avenger. Jealous/pouty/ insecure Peter. (Infinity war nowhere near this fic)
Word: little over 2900
Paring: Peter x Fem!Reader
A/N: I discovered I really enjoy reading Peter fanfics because he’s a sweet child and oh god, precious so I figured why not. So this is my first shot at a reader fic, I usually enjoy creating an OC because honestly who doesn’t envision themselves as the OC. But mainly it’s because of the format, writing in second person is quite difficult, so if I slip up and use female pronouns then my bad. Side note: YHT is your hometown, I didn’t want to give away a specific location but I gave the impression that the reader is originally from other places. I liked the aspect of an army kid so maybe I’ll use some material to write a series but my track record is garbage. Please enjoy.
Also this takes place in a world where they didn’t split up from the civil war I just want them all happy. Like it’s enough canon angst/accuracy lets just pretend shit didn’t hit the fan.
—————
You clutch a book to your chest. Completely happy over the best day of your life. Or maybe it was the second best day of your life. Or maybe it was only part 2, the continuation of the best day of your life. In your 17 years of life, with your dad in the force, you’ve seen a lot of places and met a lot of people. But this takes the cake of best thing ever.
You pull the book from your chest to look a final time. In a protective wrapper was a comic book, not just any comic book but an old slightly worn comic of Captain America that was coveted by your father. It was one of his favorites and you actually got it signed by Captain America himself. You knew your dad would be pleased. You remembered that interaction like it was yesterday, probably because it was indeed only yesterday.
“Peter are you sure?”
“Yeah, of course! I spend so much time working with Mr. Stark and I might have mentioned you...a few times. And he’s curious about you,” Peter answers, his face tinting a little pink at his confession.
It was Friday after school and usually, you’d go your separate ways after school. You would help your mom out and he would have the notorious Stark internship to go to. Other than a few ‘perfectly’ timed calls, the internship hasn’t gotten in the way of you two dating. To any girl, the thought of their boyfriend being late for dates, having to leave suddenly, or even waiting hours for a phone call or even a text would be a put-off. However, with your dad being in the military and would leave home for months at a time with communicating few and far in-between, you learned what it means to be a patient partner.
“Okay, I’ll go. I wouldn’t mind meeting this Tony Stark in person,” you answer, agreeing to go with him to meet his boss. You’ve heard about this billionaire even all the way in (Y/H/T) but any issues from New York seemed so far away from you at the time. Now it couldn’t be any closer, with him being so involved in Peter’s life
“Thank you, (Y/N)! You won’t regret it. It’s really cool, and he’s actually really nice,” Peter answers with a smile so brilliantly cute it caused your heart to pick up.
You answer with a kiss on the cheek only after glancing to make sure no one was looking. You both weren’t big on PDA, but you’d hold hands every chance you got.
“W-what was that for?” Peter manages to get out, his face scarlet.
“Because you cute,” you answer with a grin, poking his cheek and he blossoms into a beautiful smile.
“But (Y/N), you’re the cute one,” he answers causing your own face to heat up.
The trip to the Stark tower was long. It was a Friday so what more did you expect? Though the closer they were getting the more anxious you were getting. You knew this meant a lot to Peter, he talked about Tony a lot which was pretty sweet especially when you see the soft blush on his face after a passionate rant about the gear he gets to see. Not to mention the fact that Peter was an obvious Iron man stan.
Then it hit you, Tony Stark is Iron man, he works, probably lives in Stark tower where the Avengers live. There were quite a few you liked, a particular favorite of yours was there too. Maybe you could see The Captain America. That did it, you were a big mess of nerves by the time you arrived at the tower.
“Ready?” Peter asks, turning to you while squeezing your hand.
“As I’ll ever be...you know I kinda wished I had gone home to change first,” you mutter realizing only when you were at the doorstep that you were wearing a basic t-shirt and a pair of comfy jeans. Had you had time to go home you might have tried to find something nicer to put on.
“You look gorgeous as always, very cute,” Peter answers assuring you and you shrug as if a compliment from the cutest dork of all New York didn’t send butterflies in your stomach.
“Well, if you say so.” You take a deep breath, gripped Peter’s hand, and followed him inside.
You were swiftly introduced to a guy named Happy. And before you could ponder on if it’s a nickname or not he leads the both of you to Tony. You spot him just in time for Peter excitedly guide you towards the guy.
“Mr. Stark! This is who I wanted you to meet. My girlfriend, (Y/N),” Peter said with a bashful smile.
“Oh, you’re (Y/N). The kid’s been telling me a lot about you. Rambling on so it’s amazing he gets anything done,” He grins teasingly as he approached you and extending his hand. “Nice to put a face to the name,” he adds.
“Nice to meet you in person, Sir,” you answer, shaking his hand and feeling giddy. You’re shaking hands with an actual superhero.
“Come along, I’m here to give you a personal tour,” he said guiding you away. “So the kid tells me you’re not around here, where you’re from?” He asks after a while.
“Oh, well I’m from everywhere and nowhere I guess. Dad serves so I was moving around a lot. The last place and probably the place where I stayed the longest is (Y/H/T),” you answer with ease.
“Well, how you like it here so far?”
“It’s busy...kinda loud. But I’ve always managed to settle in. Peter’s helped a lot actually,” you answered, glancing over at your boyfriend who was smiling happily. He was a friendly face in the crowd on your first day at school. He and Ned helped you with everything and it was easily one of best group of friends you’ve ever had. It didn’t become long before Peter became the best thing to happen to you, you spent many nights studying or going to him when you felt lonely when the friends you had back at (Y/H/T) no longer felt like your friends.
“So then, you’re a junior like Pete here. Got to start thinking of life after high school soon. What do you want to do?” Asked Tony.
“I volunteer and help my mom out at the animal shelter. So I want to help them because animals deserve the world, maybe a vet so I can do my best to save the animals I can,” You said pouring out the dream you haven’t even told your mother about yet, though knowing her she might know already.
At the silence, your face grew hot. “It...I mean it’s no ‘billionaire superhero but who’s rescuing the animals?” You fumbled, feeling embarrassed.
“Kid,” Tony calls to Peter before gesturing to you. “You see that kid, the look of someone utterly excited and passionate for what they love doing, women look their best when they are like this,” The man adds in an instructing tone.
Peter nods slowly, “Yeah...I agree,” he gazes at you causing you to look away and around the room not quite feeling like a deserved showpiece.
“You did good kid,” you hear Tony whisper not too subtly to Peter who suddenly sputters and coughs. You decide to not go to his rescue and allow him to feel as flustered as you are. In person, you realize that Tony isn’t bad for someone who insists on contacting Peter during the worst times. He and Peter seem to get along which meant a lot. Peter may not have told you directly but the fact of the matter is he lives with his aunt with no mention of his uncle or parents which meant Tony could be that mentor father figure for Peter. You brave a glance to see Tony looking amused as he drapes an arm across bashful Peter’s shoulder.
“And (Y/N), that’s a good dream you got there. Hold on to it,” Tony declares and abruptly continues the tour as if he didn’t show Peter affection or praised you.
“Thank you, Sir,” you say and that was the end of that part of the conversation. Instead, you listened to Tony Stark, or rather his AI Friday who talked when prompt to give her information about the room, things in the room, or the tower itself.
“Wow, this place is...wow,” you were so impressed you couldn’t articulate actual words.
“Isn’t it cool?” Peter tells you with a proud smile and you nod.
“Just wow, to think the other Avengers live here too,” you said looking to Tony. “Is it possible to meet them? Um...if they’re not busy of course,” you asked. You really wanted to meet them you had a list of favorites you wouldn’t mind to meet.
“Can she, Mr. Stark?” Peter jumps in for you taking Tony’s brief bit of silence for rejection. You appreciated the gesture considering he talked to you because you had the avenger keychains or buttons on your backpack at school.
“Oh trust me, the gang is pretty curious about your girlfriend kid,” Tony’s smirk was back and you mentally sigh in relief. But then you realized something.
“Pete you never told me you get to see the Avengers!” You exclaimed in suspense watching peter standing sheepishly at you.
“Well-“
“He is keeping it a secret, as you should too young lady or the deal is off,” Tony cuts in and gives you a warning.
“Okay, not a word,” you promised. After all, it made sense, if Peter told everyone that at his Stark internship he gets to meet the avengers people would be lining up to see them for the wrong reasons. Not to mention the tower is their home, they’d want privacy and downtime.
Tony asks Friday to alert the others and before your eyes members of the Avengers had indeed assembled. You were stunned, not only did you meet Black Widow who kicked so much ass. But you got to see Falcon, Bucky and Captain America. Captain Freaking America was in front of you.
“C-Captain America...” you gasp and look over to Peter who had a grin on his face. Unfazed because he’s seen them all the time. “Pete...that’s...wow” it was all you could say watching as Black Widow nudges the buff blonde with a grin.
“Looks like you have a fan, Cap,” Falcon says.
“I’m a huge fan. I mean, my dad and I are. He has a few editions of the comics and...” you suck in a breath because you were spilling everything out in one breath. “You were like the reason he had joined the army,” You were so excited you were practically shaking.
“Can I shake your hand, Captain? Sir?” You found yourself asking before you can stop yourself.
“Of course, and Steve is fine. Or Captain if it makes you feel better,” Steve answers, for that you were thankful, you couldn’t imagine addressing Captain America so informally for even a moment.
You hold back a squeal as you shake hands. “I wish I had something for you to sign right now,” you shyly said. You weren’t expecting to meet your favorite hero today.
You were so delighted when Captain America agreed to sign the beloved copy of the Captain America comic for your dad. You learned everyone was so nice and more or less familiar with Peter so they were all happy he found a nice girl. Which left you and Peter a smiling duo. You were glad that Peter had adults around him that care, and know he’s in good hands when he runs off to the Stark internship. After goodbyes and promises to get autographs, you leave the Stark tower with Peter.
“(Y/N).”
You turn as you felt a weight on your right side. Peter was draped next to you, his curly mop of hair on your shoulder as you both were sitting on your couch. Your mother was still working at the moment meaning it was just the two of you.
“Yes, Pete?” You ask him as you’re snapped out of your daydream of yesterday’s events.
“You gonna stare at the comic all day?” He asks with a hint of a whine, something he only does when you’re too focused on something while he also wants your attention. You look directly in his face to see him glance away.
“Are you...pouting?” You couldn’t help but ask poking at his cheek that looks like it’s sticking out when he holds his mouth like that.
“No, I’m not. I just want to do something else other than stare at you staring at an autograph,” Peter replies with a frown.
“Oh,” you quirk your brow, picking up the carefully wrapped book. “That’s funny, because I don’t pout when you spend hours with Ned build a spaceship puzzle thing. Especially because I don’t exactly care about Star Wars and it’s not exactly fun watching only you having fun. But I watch anyway because I can see you enjoy it and while I’ll never understand that type of nerd I like you’re having fun,” you declare with a frown of your own.
You are a patient person and never get too mad at him for running off all the time. There was a period where you felt insecure and after he assured you that there’s no other girl you were fine. “However, you know what Captain means to me and my dad and why I’m such a fan...” you sigh softly your stomach tightening in anxiety. You didn’t like confrontation one bit but this means a lot to you, it’s how you feel close to your dad when he’s far away. So for Captain, you’d stomach the anxiety long enough to bring up a point.
Peter’s eyes widen before reaching out to grab your hand. “(Y/N), I’m so sorry. I know I get away with a lot, with how many times I canceled dates or forgotten to go to a meetup spot you should have ditched me long ago...” he said urgently gripping your hands in hopes of you seeing how sorry he was.
“But I guess that’s the thing, I’m not that cool. Nothing like the Avengers. I…I mean I don’t look nothing like them, tall and cool with muscles…at school I’m just…just Penis Parker,” Peter looks down with a frown adorning his face, his hands that were holding yours were limp as if waiting for you to yank them away.
“Pete…” you call out to him trying to make eye contact but he doesn’t even look at you. It has to be serious, this must have been on his mind the whole time. “Peter, absolutely screw Flash and all those other idiots at school,” you declare, gripping his limp hands firmly, you weren’t going anywhere.
“If I wanted some big buff guy I’d go with a jock, and no one likes those kinds of guys. They get knocked around all the time they practically have no brain anyway,” you state matter of factly. While your school had a technology focus they still had room for some other extra circular activities, every school has those jocks. “I’m into cute nerds who light up like a star when they talk about their nerd stuff, and guys who are so smart they get to work with one of the richest people in the world.”
At this Peter looks up shyly to make eye contact, a blush gracing his cheeks and you knew you were getting to him. You smile and grip his hand gently, he grips it back softly, the tightness was easing in your stomach.
“And, while Captain holds a spot in my heart because of my dad…let’s be honest. We have a Local Superhero, who’s looking after us all the time. That’s like amazing. While Captain and the others are overseas kicking butt, Spiderman is looking after the average everyday people who get robbed or mugged…that’s actually pretty amazing…” you said causing him to grin widely. That was his second favorite hero since he talks about him pretty often if the hero is on the news, always asking what you thought about him.
“Yeah…yeah that’s true…” Peter sits up a little taller and he sighs, the insecurity was wiped from his face. “Y/N, you’re absolute right…I’m…sorry for getting all weird about all this…I didn’t mean to make you upset in any way. That’s actually cool, when I saw Iron Man for the first time, I was so excited, it was all I could talk about,” he tells you, apologizing to you again. “Can…you forgive me?”
You answer with a kiss, pulling away to see him surprised and cutely blushing. You both have been started kissing, but the bout of butterflies hasn’t gotten old. “That answer your question?” you reply with your own question.
“Um…maybe…can you tell me again? I don’t think I heard you the first time,” Peter said looking down at your lips causing you to giggle.
“Dork,” you tease, leaning in to kiss him again.
Before the second kiss could turn into a make-out session you hear keys turning to the front door. Your mom walks in in time for you to break apart, you wished you were in your room, but the deal to have Peter over would be the living room at all times. After greetings and promises of ordering pizza you turn to Peter.
“So, tell me how you met Iron man,” You say, recalling that he mentioned he met his hero for the first time.
“Well, you see…” Peter preps himself to tell the story and with him smiling and back to normal, you knew this really is going to be a good day.

Happy Birthday, Dad!
Dad!Tony
Peter ParkerxReader
Word Count: 3037
Request: TonyDad! X Daughter!reader where it's his birthday and Y/N wants to make something special for him and it's all nice and emotional! Pete could tag along with the Avengers too!!
Summary: You have plans for your dad’s birthday, but you need to keep him out of the tower so he doesn’t know what’s going on, so Peter helps you out.
A/N: Ages: Tony 50, Reader and Peter 21~ So the year is about 2020. (This was more for me but I thought it would be good to share)
Tumblr media
Every year your dad asked for the same thing on his birthday. Just time to stop and spend with you. Of course, you always gave it to him. You would spend the entire day with him if it was a day that you could. This year would be no different. Except it was different.
After much too long, the Avengers were completely back to the way they were, including the new editions. So, you didn’t want them to miss out on getting to celebrate your dad’s big 50th birthday. Your only problem was your dad.
You wanted it to be a surprise, your trouble came with he wanted to spend the day with you, and you had to get everything ready. You had an extra special surprise for him that you didn’t want anyone else to deal with. So, you agreed to spend the day with him and thought of a solution. Of course he wouldn’t like it, but he was going to have to deal with it, because you wanted this for him.
You were having lunch with Peter, at your favorite diner, when it finally hit you of how to deal with your problem. “I got it!” You shouted, out of nowhere.
Peter jumped at your sudden tone and looked at you confused. “You’ve got what, babe?”
“I need to ask you the biggest favor, are you up for the task?” You asked him, smiling widely.
His look turned weary, he’d been on the end of a few idea’s you’d had before, he wasn’t a fan. But, he couldn’t say no to you. “What is it this time?”
“Will you keep my dad occupied on friday?” You were so glad you had figured out a solution. Now you just had to get Peter to agree.
“What?” Peter asked, confused. “Why would I need to do that?”
You rolled your eyes. “I promised him I would spend the day with him, I thought I told you the party friday is a surprise?”
“You did,” He answered. “But you didn’t say anything about needing to keep your dad occupied.”
“Okay look,” You started. “I have something I need to get ready for him and I want to be the one to do it. So I can’t just keep him out of the tower and if no one does he’ll be here and it’ll be way to hard to keep the surprise. I need a way to keep him out all day. Can you do it?”
Peter couldn’t help but stare at you. “Babe, e-even if I had a clue of what to do with your dad all day… th-there’s no way he is going to agree to this. The second you say you can’t hang out with him, he’s going to want to stay in the tower and work.”
Your smile flipped to a frown. He had a point. You sighed, you had thought of everything and this was your final straw. “Can we at least try?” You asked, now pouting.
Peter’s look turned reluctant, he didn’t want to do this, but with that look you were giving him. “Y-Yeah, I guess…”
You beamed at him. “I’ll plan everything, okay? I just want him to have a good day.”
Peter gently shook his head. He knew Mr. Stark wouldn’t be happy that he was getting way less time to spend with his daughter, but he would do anything for you. So, he figured, dealing with your grumpy dad would have to be it.

Since you knew you wouldn’t get to spend a good chunk of the day with him, you made sure the breakfast you’d made your dad was extra good. You went all out, making all of his favorites. It was still early, but you snuck into his room anyway.
You cuddled up next to him before you started messing with his face. “Dad,” You whispered, smushing his cheeks together. Next you pushed his nose up, “Daaaaad.” You tugged on his ear and chuckled when he groaned and turned over away from you. You peeked over him and rested your chin on his arm. “Daaaad, come ooooon.”
“Ten more minutes,” He mumbled.
“Your waffles are going to get cold,” You told him.
Tony released a sigh.
You eagerly sprung from his bed.
He followed at a much slower pace.
“Happy birthday!” You said, excitedly as he entered the kitchen. Everything was set up, you had a small banner you’d made out of paper and string when you were 6. It was tradition.
Tony chuckled before going and kissing your forehead. “Thanks, sunshine.”
You smiled cheekily up at him before pulling him to his seat to eat. You pushed having breakfast with him for as long as you could before you knew you’d have to bring it up. “So, um I feel really bad about this dad, but um, I have something I have to go take care of…”
Tony frowned at you. “I thought we were going to spend the day together?”
“I know, I know,” You said, nervously wringing your hands.
Peter had impeccable timing, for he chose that moment to enter the kitchen.
“But,” You continued. “Peter’s going to hang out with you.”
“H-Happy birthday, Mr. Stark.” Peter said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“First,” Tony started. “Thank you, Parker. Second, what do you mean I’m spending the day with him?” He motioned to Peter who was still in the doorway.
“Please dad,” You begged. If he didn’t agree to this, you’d be stuck having to sneak around the tower all day. “I promise I’ll make it up to you.”
“Why can’t I go get some work done instead?” He asked.
“Because, I told you we were going to have a fun day out! You’re still going to have one. So, go get dressed and go hang out with Peter.”
Tony raised a skeptical eyebrow at you.
You made a shooing motion before he finally sighed and went off to get ready for the day. “Dress comfy!” You called as soon as he was gone. You started to clean up breakfast. You had a lot to do and it was already 11, sure you had 6 hours, but you knew that time was going to fly.
“What exactly am I doing?” Peter asked.
“Oh!” You said, before running to your room. When you came back you handed him a bunch of tickets.
They were for tour groups and a couple museums, perfectly timed so their schedule would be full all day, with time for lunch.
Peter looked back up at you. “You’re kidding right?”
You frowned at him. “No, every year when I wouldn’t have school, or even some that I did, this is what we would do. Silly tours around New York. It’ll be fun I promise.”
Peter sighed before putting all the into his bookbag. “You owe me, big time.”
You smiled innocently up at him before kissing his cheek. “Yes I do,” You agreed.
“Alright, Spiderling,” Tony said, re-entering the kitchen, dressed in a black t-shirt, a pair of jeans, a baseball cap and sunglasses. “Let’s get this over with.”
Peter quickly pecked your cheek before you went over and hugged your father.
“Have fun,” You told them.
Once they were both gone and you made sure they were out of the building you started on your big plans.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/
Their first stop was to the New York Hall of Science. Tony was quiet the whole way there, and poor Peter had tried to get him to say anything, but it was useless.
So instead, he kept quiet as they were guided around the museum.
Tony had every right to be upset. He didn’t care about the silly tours, it was about enjoying them with you that he wanted. Instead, here he was with Peter. Not that there was anything wrong with him, it just wasn’t how he wanted to spend the day. He couldn’t understand why Peter would agree to this to begin with. They were about halfway through the tour when he finally decided to question him. “So why are we here?”
Peter perked up at the question, so long as you were talking things couldn’t be all that awkward. “Y/N asked me to…”
Tony eyed him skeptically. “Not that I didnt believe your feelings for my daughter, but I guess it really says something that you would willingly give up your day to spend with me.”
Peter rubbed the back of his neck. “You know how I feel about her, sir. But… honestly you’ve been like a dad to me for a while now. I know you want us to have the father hates daughter’s boyfriend relationship, but we really don’t… at least I don’t think so… My-my point is… I’m just glad to spend the day with you. But I know it’s not what you wanted and I’m sorry for that.”
Tony clapped a hand over Peter’s shoulder. “Well I suppose if I can’t spend the day with one of my kids, at least I can spend it with the other and not be a complete grump about it.”
A small smile peeked at Peter’s lips.
Tony rolled his eyes and continued on with the tour.
When they were finally finished their next stop was a tour for Radio City Music hall.
Peter had to admit it wasn’t all that bad. He’d lived in New York for so long, but he’d never really done much of any tours anywhere.
They grabbed food from street vendors, which really surprised Peter.
“You actually eat this stuff?” He asked.
Tony let out a chuckle. “It’s tradition, I can’t break that, even if Y/N isn’t here.”
Peter nodded and they found a place to sit to eat. They easily fell into conversation. As much as Tony wanted to not like Peter, especially in the beginning of your relationship, the kid was special to him. He knew he cared for you, so he never held it against him. Although he liked to pretend he did. Yet, even without you in the mix, he would still care for Peter.
The next two places they visited were Madame Tussauds and Ripley’s.
Peter made sure to take pictures this time, they both laughed most of the way through the wax museum. By the time they finished with Ripley’s Peter knew they had just enough time to get back to the tower for the party.
“So,” Tony started as they made their way. “What was so important that she didn’t want me in the lab all day? What’s Y/N really planning?”
Peter shrugged. “She just didn’t want you to be alone in the lab all day. I agreed with her, so… did you have a good day?” He asked, trying to get Tony off the topic, before he accidentally let something slip.
“It was a good day, I guess.” Tony told him.
“Good, glad I could help make it one.”
When they reached the tower Peter sent you a quick test and hoped you were ready. There was no way he’d be able to stall.
Luckily you had no problems and told him they could come up.
You smiled to yourself. Everything was perfect. You finished making all your dad’s presents, and his favorite cake, and dinner. Everyone was already here and ready, and you were excited to see the look on your dad’s face.
As soon as the elevator doors opened everyone shouted surprise.
And Tony was very surprised. He couldn’t believe you went through all the trouble for him. “What’s all this?” He asked as you went over to hug him.
“Part 1 of your birthday present,” You told him. “I could have just asked Peter to do it, but I wanted to do it. Did you guys have a good day?”
“Yes we did,” Tony said, kissing your head.
You beamed up at him. “Happy birthday, dad.”
Tony chuckled. “Thank you, sunshine.”
You didn’t waste time pulling him further in. Everyone greeted him with well wishes before everyone sat down to eat your meal.
Peter held your hand under the table.
You gave him a smile and mouthed a thank you to him.
He brought your hand to mouth and left a light kiss there before putting your hand back down.
You smiled, taking in your family. It was rare these moments happened, when everyone was here and at ease. It was good to see all of them, especially your dad, having such a good time. The conversations didn’t lull until after everyone sang and were eating the cake you’d made.
Once everyone was settled you decided it was time to do gifts.
Of course, there were the few that gave practical gifts; i.e., Steve and Bucky, Bruce, T’Challa… but the rest of them couldn’t pass up an opportunity to give funny gifts. Even Peter gave him something comical. It was a new hoodie that had ‘Fucking Genius’ printed on it. The laughs just kept coming.
Finally, it was your turn. You set a big wrapped box down in front of him.
Tony sent you a skeptical eye as he began to open it.
“They’re all numbered,” You told him as he peeked inside the box.
“You’re making me work for me presents?” He exaggerated.
There were a few chuckles as you nodded. “Yeah, well I worked so hard making them, I figured you could work just a little bit for them.”
Tony pulled the first box out and opened it. It was a small keychain with the words. ‘My Dad, My Hero’ printed on it. He looked up at you and immediately wished that he wasn’t opening these in front of the team. “Are they all like this, because I don’t think right now is a good time for-”
You pouted at him, you couldn’t say you didn’t see this coming. He wasn’t one for sappy things. “Please, dad, come on.”
“Yeah, come on, dad,” Nat teased. “We all want to see what Y/N made. She’s been looking forward to this for months.”
“Yeah,” Clint added. “We won’t make too much fun of you when you start bawling your eyes out.”
Tony rolled as he pulled out the second box to open. There were three picture frames containing three of his favorite pictures of you and him over the years. Each had a letter to spell out dad, which you had painted. Tony was afraid of what might be in the rest of the box with how this was going. He was beginning to get emotional.
Thor wanted to see the pictures, so you happily passed them around.
The team oogled over you. It was rare they got to see baby pictures of you, so when they did it was always a big thing.
Tony smiled lovingly at you, you were his world. He was glad the team loved you so much.
You pulled the next present out of the box and handed it to your dad.
Tony nodded before taking it and unwrapping it. He chuckled as he read the plaque. ‘The Birthing Suite’ was painted on it. He passed it on so the rest of the team could see it before going for the card at the bottom of the box.
“Okay, I think I’ve tortured you enough,” You told him, trying to be sneaky. “If you wanna wait to read that later-”
“Nope,” Steve said. “He has to read the card out loud, that’s the rules.”
Tony frowned at him. “If she doesn’t want me to read it out loud, I’m not going to old man.”
“Come on, Tony,” Nat said. “Just read the card, it can’t be that bad. You haven’t started crying yet.”
“Yet,” Peter commented. “Have you ever read one of Y/N’s cards? Aunt May still tears up thinking about the one she gave her two Christmas’s ago.”
“I don’t mind if you read it out loud,” You told your dad. “But you don’t have to.”
There were multiple shouts that he should, so he finally gave in, he wouldn’t cry over this.
The card was a simple funny one, with dogs on it dressed as superheroes. However, the message contained inside had Tony tearing up right away.
Dear Dad,
Happy birthday! I’m not sure why I deserved just a great man as a father but I know that I couldn’t be more grateful. I know you never believe me when I tell you, but I’ll say it again, you’re an amazing role model. You always help those that need it most and do everything you can to make sure the world is kept safe and made better. You have taught me so much in life and for a guy that doesn’t like to show his emotions you’ve shown them to me. You have loved me unconditionally since the day I came into your life and I am the luckiest person in the world to know what that love is like.
I can’t describe to you enough what you mean to me. But thank you for helping me grow to be the person I am, I can’t wait to spend the next 50 plus years loving you.
Always your little girl, Y/N
Tony quickly wiped at the tear that swept down his face. His voice started shaking more than halfway through.
The team just smiled amongst themselves. They were glad that they got to see this side of Tony.
Your dad stood and opened his arms for a hug.
You hugged him tightly.
“Thank you, sweetheart. I love you.” He whispered.
“I love you too, dad.” You whispered back.
He kissed the side of your head. “I don’t know what I did to deserve such a great kid…”
You let out a small chuckle. “Well I think you’ve saved the world a few times.”
Tony let out a chuckle too. He shook his head as he released you. He wasn’t sure what he really did, but he was so glad he had you. You were everything to him. As he sat back down and looked around at his family, he couldn’t help but have the thought that this was how he wanted to spend the rest of his birthday’s.
