I was researching medieval weaponry, for a school project, not for writing purposes actually, and stumbled upon these images of various polearms (source), and it occurred to me that they matched Rafal's aesthetic, especially in TLEA, so enjoy, I guess?

The way Tedros and Aric are such perfect foils ok im serious like the fact that Guinevere abandoned Tedros and he watched her abandon him and yet he tried hiding most of his pain and when it came to it, he was willing to forgive her because he couldn’t hold that pain and he couldn’t hold that bitterness in him bc he’s not Arthur—even when he knows full well that his mother left him to be with another man, willingly...but Tedros hears her out bc he comes to this understanding that there's so much more that can happen after and this is partly thanks to Agatha’s council, whom has his back. So he KNOWS he can heal, and he can learn, if he can just listen and let go

Then the fact that Aric was abandoned by Lady Lesso, also when he was pretty young and Aric broadcasting that hate and letting it feed him, and he probably fears letting go of it bc what else does he have left? No one. He is entirely by himself and refuses love and rejects it bc he doesn’t want to learn or accept that his mother rly didn’t want to leave him, that it wasn't her fault. like the fact that Tedros didn’t go full psycho even whilst objectively having the mother who had truly wanted to abandon him...unlike Lady Lesso who was forced to. And YET Aric goes out of his way to KILL his own mother and succeeds, while Tedros has an acutual LEGAL decree that his psycho daddy wrote proclaiming that Tedros has full right on executing his mother but he doesn’t do it bc ofc he doesn’t.... he let go.  

Yeah it’s so interesting how they’re literally the Ying and Yang of abandonment, how a similar situation can affect a person into becoming something different yet compellingly familiar at the same time.

I'm not sure if anyone noticed but the song "the Wolf and the Sheep" by Alec Benjamin is just SOOOO fitting for the third book of SGE, The last ever after.

The vibe, the lyrics, the characters, ALL of it!

It's literally impossible to listen to it and not be reminded of TLEA's storyline and events.

And even a bit relatable with Fall (FOTSGE), specially Rhian's character.

A theory/headcanon/possible Au about the Storian

Get ready for my stupidity--

Okay, so I'm just wondering: what if the Storian was once a person or even some kind of demigod that angered a higher power(s) and as a punishment, it was turned into the Pen that governed the Woods?

What if the inscription on the Storian was actually from an ancient language or something from a different realm? In TLEA, the sun was dying out, but what if it was just the Storian world dying out? I wonder if there is another realm, even beyond Woods Beyond (ouch, cringe)?

It would be interesting if the Storian was once a person. While I enjoyed the SGE prequels, I wish that there was more deep lore.

I know that the Woods have different religions and such like Glass Mountains) but ultimately, the Pen is what keeps their woods alive. And humans also in a way, help the Pen stay powerful too (as in OTK)

In OTK, the storian had a pov, so maybe it isn't just some neutral object after all. It can defend itself, even.

And I wonder if maybe there is a way that the Storian could actually be a person again, if this was all true.

Again, this is just a thought. (and I typed this during school break so yeah--)

Fingerglows

So, has anyone noticed that Soman didn’t actually confirm Rhian and Rafal’s fingerglow colors like he did with Agatha and Sophie?

Literally all we got in Rise and Fall was “Sharp Glow” or “Frosty” or “Warm.” Like we never got an actual color??

However, in the original series he has said Sophie and Agatha’s fingerglow colors MULTIPLE times. Agatha’s is orangeish gold, and Sophie’s is hot pink. This is common knowledge. Based on my interpretation, I think Rafal’s fingerglow is like a frosty kind of blue, and Rhian’s is golden. These two colors match their “souls” which Soman did kind of specify during Fall. Even during TLEA we never got a color for Rafal’s glow. Haven’t seen many people talking about this, so any thoughts?
