Right, kicked COVID to the curve, so coming out swinging for the last few days of The Magnus Archives RPG crowdfunder. It looks absolutely *sick* and there's a whole bunch of fun extras and gubbins that are only available through the campaign, so check it out!

After watching the interview of Jonny and Alex with Cypher Unlimited, I just had to make a post to capture some of the best bits. There were so many this had to be split into two posts. This first post includes such fun moments as: Head Archivist Alexander J Newall, we're cool normal people, disguised missile silo (x4), how RQ/Magnus formed, 10 year anniversary, Improv in Magnus, James Ross What Did You Say, Alex Swear Count: 1, making of possible Leitners, technically, technical, 1d20 Sanity Damage, and Jonny Is Not A Cannibal (again).

I Love that the tma rpg is playable fanfic basically. Like yeah, a lot of the assets are going to be geared toward the original setting, however they stated that it’s your universe and you get to do what you want when running it. Like, Fuck it, archivist Sasha, desolation Tim, depending on what the players do Jon may or May not fall victim the the Not!Them, Martin May or May not survive the Lonely’s attempt at a ritual, he may be swallowed by it, or in one last act of love and defiance he may sacrifice himself to stop it. (He is Martin Blackwood and he is NOT LONELY ANYMORE).

honestly the thing i’m most excited for when it comes to the TMA TTRPG is just seeing everyone’s silly little characters and their inevitable downfall into becoming avatars

If the new magnus archives rpg has “canon character designs” for any of the main characters I’m straight up ignoring it. Sorry they don’t actually look like that bc that’s not how they look in my brain. Cry

I know I already posted about this but they just announced that if we hit 2 million Jonny simms will read the statements provided with the core rule book as adventures in character as the archivist and we’re only 50 k off let’s GO PEOPLE

Oh my GOD you guys the Magnus Archives RPG crowdfund campaign just ended at over 2,000,000 dollars!!!! I believe that puts it in the top 10 RPG crowdfunding campaigns ever! They blew through so many stretch goals including,,,, INCLUDING JONNY SIMS READING THE STATEMENTS FOR THE INVESTIGATIONS IN THE GAME.

Idk how many there are specifically because one of the previous stretch goals expanded the number of pre-written investigations (their term for modules) in the game so I am thrilled to see how many,,, basically TMA mini-episodes we're getting out of this??? The audio files will only be available to those who backed the campaign though, as they are part of the investigations for the game. But,,,,, ughhh what a truly marvelous ending to this campaign I can't wait to get all the cool shit,,,,
