One gripe I have with the tma fandom is that they will not stop sexualizing Jon aka the ONE asexual character and then be like “Well asexuality is a spectrum! Asexual people can have sex!” Which yeah, true, but they say Jon doesn’t period. Literally the direct quote is like “Oh yeah Jon doesn’t at all.” AT ALL. The Tim lives (and serves the desolation) au concept is so painful because 1. He'd be so sexy but also 2. there is no way he and Jon would have been able to rekindle a friendship. An uneasy cohabitation maybe. Or even an unhealthy companionship formed from traumabonding and surviving 2 major traumas together. But I can't see them being in a healthy relationship (at least the time spanning from the unknowing up until the watcher's crown)

was going to make a joke about how jon in theory is a leftist and objectively believes in "power to the people" and all that but fundamentally he simply finds people at large to be dumb and annoying and every time someone disagrees with his opinion in a way that ticks him off he briefly becomes 100% supportive of complete authoritarianism, ideally with himself as the dictator of the known universe, and then I remembered that wouldn't actually be a joke because he did canonically do exactly that.

i thought everybody saw how different lena and jonah are just in terms of personality but i guess i should point it out anyways. jonah acts like everything is a part of his plan, and everybody involved is just a source of entertainment. he makes jokes only he could possibly understand, he's either amused or mildly irritated by genuine threats, he has banter and witty comments and seems to be generally having a better time than everyone else. lena is never having a good time. she seems to actively avoid everyone, her consistant mood is disappointed and tired, she takes almost personal offense to every joke she hears. she's a killjoy and she's actively trying to get rid of what little personality she has. the only time her demeanor changes is the scene where gwen blackmails her. and it doesn't change into anything smug or amused, it changes into carefully concealed anger and fear, threats just vague enough to be a bluff, she's not dramatically dropping an act, she's revealing just another aspect of herself.

with jonah, it always felt like everything he did was a part of his plan. with lena, it feels more like a part of her training. do you get that.
