#also touches on a lot of the same reasons why gifs on here tend to be so heavily edited from the actual movie/series#yes I'm still annoyed with that one addition on that one post about tumblr gifmakers supposedly 'showing filmmakers how it's done'#different mediums different purposes different expressions#believe me you don't want everything you watch to be colour graded like a gif - it would be boring af#like with a piece of music#the composer needs to limit their use of notes/harmonies/instruments when making a complete composition#to create contrasts over longer periods of time which help shift your emotions#but that wider perspective means that each moment itself needs less internal contrast#to become cohesive enough to generate a bigger contrast with the moments surrounding it#while gifs are shorter and can afford or even benefit from being more one-punch knockout with colour#throwing everything at you in absolute clarity and vivid saturation to catch your attention while scrolling#okay rant over#jesse tribble#maddie debrief#Youtube
