And the message at the end of the Re-Imperatour - "The empire is built." He's made his mark. He's defined his legacy. And now that he's completed his grand work, his absolute indelible proof to the world that HE is the lifeblood of Ghost that drives it forward to new and dizzying heights, he can start to really have fun with it.

The 'Phantom' inspired mask & costumes. The 'Tears for Fears' inspired bassline. The movie, the Imperator comics, the VHS and cassette tapes. It's like he's pouring everything he loves into this album, and it's so joyful to see.

Ghost was initially meant to be a campy, Vaudeville-esque one-off series of shows, before it took off in the way that it did. You can really see him going back to his roots with this, and personally, I can't wait to see what comes next when Tobias can really stretch his creative wings!

Emotional at work and probably (most definitely) way too deep into this whole thing, but... Papa V seems a lot like Tobias making peace with the past and the unpleasant things (lawsuit, near failure of the project therefore) in the past.

Where Copia was initially the anger, spite and disappointment he felt, until he grew on him and turned into something/someone so positive and warm - a really wonderful turn and message in itself -, putting a very harsh end to the previous era(s), implementing a lot of new visuals... Papa V does the opposite.

We get Primos glittery robe front, Secondos staff in the artwork, Terzos purple and claws (and parts of the face paint) and Copias chest jewelry and cape style.

It feels like Tobias made peace with it and is, kind of, reclaiming these parts? And honoring the past Papas in a wonderful (and super cunty) way.

And I absolutely love it.

(again, I'm probably reading way too much into it, sue me, I'm emotional about my Swedish satanic comfort band)

HEY EVERYONE do you remember my story I'm making?? With my own little blorbos?? No?

Well let me remind you!

At a crossroads in small town Sweden, there's a hot dog stand with a unique business model: If you can guess the Vendor's name, you get your food for free! BUT. If you fail, you owe him your soul. Yes, he is the literal devil.

A mid/late 20's guy called Tobbe stumbles into the stand, and immediately decides that that is the eaxct type of guy you want to be best friends (or more) with.

Above, we see Vendor and Tobbe, the stand, one of the customers (a high school music teacher/man killing water spirit)(Näcken), and an old friend of the vendor (a local activist/guardian spirit)(Huldra).
