sori has been so busy lately, handling school and being an idol. luckily she’s in her last year of school, so soon she can put all of her focus into practice. but she’s stayed a little later than usual at practice lately, which means she’s studied a little later lately, which means she hasn’t gotten as much sleep lately. she can feel it, she needs her sleep, she can’t continue on like this.

she sits on a bench with sehun, the two bumping into each other on sori’s break and falling into a conversation, this time no ghost hunting though. sori listens as the other speaks, until she doesn’t, she doesn’t even realize it, she’s snoring.

Okay if you haven't yet, and you have Netflix/Paramount+, consider giving "School Spirits" a chance.

It looks like a silly little cheesy teenage ghosts show, I put it on for background noise, and then got totally engrossed in the mystery. It's VERY well written, very well filmed, the mystery was GREAT and the payoff at the end is also great.

One of the things majorly lacking in shows I've recently tried to watch is that they try to do a twist/reveal at the end that comes out of nowhere. They don't want you to guess what they're doing. This show doesn't do that. This show wants you to guess. They give you seven different mysteries and enough clues to guess (most of) what is going on, so that when you get the final puzzle piece to any given mystery, it feels GREAT.

The story premise is this: a teenager in hs wakes up as a ghost in the hs, and doesn't remember how she died, and with the help of the other ghosts, tries to solve the mystery of her own death.

Simple premise. BEAUTIFULLY executed. Not all of the questions that arise get answered, but the main one (what she doesn't remember) gets solved by the end of the season, leaving the "why/how and what comes next" to be carried to the next season. It does a cliffhanger RIGHT. But now I desperately want to see the second season (which I believe has been approved, so it's a matter of waiting).

So pretty please, if you're looking for something to do and a great, engaging lil mystery to watch, consider! School Spirits!!

"oh i definitely think so." minnie nodded in agreement to sori's words. imagine wanting to be an idol your whole life and never achieving it. she can imagine that's not a fulfilled life. "you should count your blessings then!" sori's family sounded very supportive. which was fortunate, minnie guessed, because her journey could have been a hell of a lot harder had they hadn't supported her. minnie knew from experience how difficult training could be with an unsupportive family. "i'm happy for you!" she smiles gently at sori. "i'll work hard. who knows, maybe i'll end up in a group before the end of the year!" though that was just wishful thinking. when thinking about debut, minnie is sure it's always around the corner but possibly out of reach. she's not in a rush. it'll happen eventually. she gestured for sori to follow her to the living room for them to eat. "c'mon. it's time to enjoy the food and watch a drama!"

sori had found having a plan b important for long, and she had looked weirdly at her brother for not having one, until he debuted and he let her know that he had a plan b all along. but while sori focused on school and practice at once, her brother decided to focus on practice, and if the idol dream didn’t work out, then he’d give his plan b a chance. “i sure am lucky” sori nods “i worked hard, but so do people who don’t debut” she shrugs “i guess there’s a bit of luck needed in debuting as well”.

“stay positive” sori nods “i had difficulty staying positive after future dreams ended, i was sure i’d debut right there, and then… i didn’t” she shrugs “i cried for a while, which is something you better not tell anyone! but even though i was at my lowest there, i managed to get back up and debut” she smiles “i’ll support you in your journey, through the good and bad”.

“let’s eat”.

unexpected re-union

sori hadn’t always been this closed off, hadn’t always hated talking about herself, hadn’t always refused to share her secrets with anyone. at some point in her life she realized, she wasn’t fond of people knowing too much about her. which is a bit weird when you think about how she’s an idol now, people can learn a lot about her from a single search on google. she answers her fans questions, but it still remains, she’s not a big fan of talking about herself.

but it hadn’t always been like this, while she never shared her secrets with everyone, she did have a time where she had friends she felt close enough to to share her secrets. one person she’ll never forget: sarang. sori shared everything with the other, and then what felt like a decision taken in a simple second, she completely stopped talking to the other. sarang knew too much, and sori couldn’t handle being around someone who knew so much.

but the words escape her mouths before she even manges to think “sarang!” it’s loud, and once she’s spoken, she immediately regrets it, she should’ve just walked away like last time, but now the other knows she’s here.

it wasn't every day she got to spend time with people whose schedules were busier than hers. with sori being consumed with lgc girls and even college, it was a rare moment for the two friends to make time like this. and maylin would be damned if she allowed some stranger to ruin this day for them. after all, the woman could truly be herself around sori, words and all because they both knew it was coming from a kind place in her heart - with brutal honesty. with a swift turn of her body, maylin placed a hand on her hip as she guarded her friend from the eyes of a man who still had no business being over where they were. "you shouldn't give any advice with an outfit like that, first of all." she looked him up and down as his color combination clashed with every over exaggerated piece of clothing he wore. "you don't even know how to dress yourself… it looks like someones mom stopped paying him any mind at a young age. that's why you turned out like this." she used her hand to usher at his outfit once more before turning to give sori a smirk. "shall we go try something on for you? i bet it'll look so much better than a certain someone."

sori had lately been surrounded a lot by the same faces, at school it was her class, and then she returned to legacy to only see the other team unknown members and coaches. sori isn’t exactly that much of a social butterfly, but usually she’d see a lot more trainees and different coaches. sori wouldn't have guessed it, but even though she wasn’t a social butterfly, she wanted to see another face than the faces she’d been seeing for months now. don’t get her wrong, she’d grown close to team unknown members, but she wanted to see someone else. that someone else ending up being maylin.

when maylin speaks, sori can’t help but let out a chuckle, quickly she covers her mouth in an attempt to not let any more sound out. and though sori isn’t exactly the most fashionable, maylin is right, he got no right to comment on anyone’s clothes nor outfit when his looks like it does. “ah maylin don’t be so mean, no mom would dress their son this badly, my guess is he’s dressed himself so bad by himself” she looks to maylin before returning her look to him “i’m sorry you have no fashion sense, hopefully you’ll grow some one day”.

she nods “let’s go search for something for me, i don’t want to end up like a certain someone else”.

guess who it is

there’s a yawn escaping the blonde’s lips. she’s been extra tired lately, juggling both practice and school. when it was announced she would debut she considered dropping out of school, but she only had one more year of school, it didn’t exactly make sense to sori to drop out. but she honestly couldn’t wait to be done with school, all her time was used on practice and studying.

once again, another yawn escapes her lips, and then she spots someone familiar, she knows this person well enough to know who they are, even though she can only see their back. she knows they’ll hug her once they see her, so she decides to just get it over with, walking over to her friend and wrapping her arms around the other, giving them a back hug. and then she realizes “sh--” she steps back “yura, ah! i’m so sorry, i thought you were someone else” a slight rose colour shows up on her cheeks, how embarrassing.

Norbert being the source of the greeting, proud and proper as usual... and Daggett, grinning foolishly and twiddling both paws. "Ooo, h-hi, Gold!" Daggy soon offered his own greeting to the child, "Uh, fancy seeing you here! Wait, uh... "fancy...?" Why do we use "fancy" in that sentence anyway? There's nothing "fancy" 'bout any of this, that's for sure-tain..." The odd train of thought derailing the greeting completely, Daggett had looked to the side, quizzically placing a thoughtful index against his chin. Nonetheless, Norbert would shake his head in dismissal, all the while maintaining his friendly smirk. "Ae-ther way... it's good to see ya, kiddo!"

Those voices... could it really be--?

"Norbert! Daggett!" Gold peels his sleeves away from the vines he's been wrangling and whips around to face the beavers, quickly scooping Celebi up off the ground. "It's so good seeing you too, 'specially after... well, uh, you know." He reaches a sleeve up to his bangs and tugs on them, as if proving to the beavers that yes, much like the overgrown foliage surrounding them, his hair is once again firmly rooted in his head.

He floats closer as Celebi climbs up onto his shoulder with their good arm, latching onto there. "I didn't realize you guys were here too... Celebi here's still been pretty sick, and they think this whole thing's why."

Gold wrings his sleeves, worriedly, as he leans in to whisper to the beavers.

"W-What happened here? Do you guys know anything, or--?"

animal crossing

despite having played the game before and briefly during the halloween party, sori didn’t know much about animal crossing. it’d been ages since she played by herself and she had forgotten majority of what the game was about, and during the halloween party she simply watched eunhye play, so it’d been a while since she’d actually played herself. she finds herself along jaehwa, someone she enjoys being with though it’s not too often they see each other, both busy idols and sori still a student for some time.

she turns to look at jaehwa “have you played the game before?” she questions. “it seems like we get to costumize our character and pick our island name”. she briefly looks at the game before returning her eyes to jaehwa “any ideas for an island name?” sori attempts thinking of one herself, not with much success, her only idea is combining her own and jaehwa’s name, but that feels kind of boring.
