He figured that you guys were sick of trading stories about seeing Joe Perry angrily sorting his recycling or Amanda Palmer shopping for an iPhone case or whatever and that he would ENRICH YOUR LIVES with some tales of all the amazing celebs he got to see with his own eyes RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE. February, as we all know, is the crappiest and shortest month so there was less reason/time to go outside and see all the famous people here in THE GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD (to get yelled at on the subway (or in a Subway, look Februany stresses everybody out) in). ANYWAY, this month I had to reach into the archives for a couple of these so if you treat this column as a guide to where celebrities are, and you totally should, don’t go to these places now because they are so over. When I saw Bill Murray a month before I moved to New York, I was super super excited. We’ve all heard the stories about the fry stealing and the spontaneous bartending and the whole “no one will ever believe you” thing, but Bill Murray did none of these things when I saw him. When I saw Bill Murray, he put earplugs in after he sat down at his table, this was the most exciting thing Bill Murray did. We shouldn’t expect so much from Bill Murray, he’s getting pretty old and seriously, the excuse he used for appearing in the Garfield movie sucked.

Nate Berkus

A charity event I worked, Williamsburg

Nate Berkus was the celebrity guest at a charity function I bartended. He’s apparently a kind of famous person? I saw his talk show on one of the crappy TVs at my gym once or something; like I said, it was a slim month for starwatching. The SoulCycle-toned but poorly dressed wealthy people in attendance liked his pitch and gave this charity a lot of money but were suspiciously cheap when it came to tipping on the open bar. CLASS WAR!
