okay but you mean to tell me that when some people find a new artist they love, the first thing that they do is NOT to listen to every official album they've released from start to finish??? i'm gen not trying to gatekeep but i legit can't imagine calling myself an actual fan of an artist if i have not at the bare minimum listened to every album they have on spotify, not because of some superiority thing but like if i am a fan i am going to listen to all the music that is readily available to me, is this not what most people do is this not normal??? i just saw a vid of "bts songs you probably haven't heard before" and every single one that they listed was a commercial release on an album, not a hidden track off an album, not a cover, not a japanese release, not solos, not a soundcloud track or a festa track, they were all songs that are easily searchable on spotify, they just don't have an mv. i don't understand modern fan culture, i really don't, why do people not listen to the music of the artists they say they're a fan of???

#i am aware this is giving Oh you like them? Name 5 songs energy #but like i get that some people are just in it for the aesthetics #i have also worn a zeppelin tshirt without knowing every single song of their discography off the top of my head #but i also would never claim to be a zeppelin fan #if someone asked me about it i would honestly say #i like their music but i've only really listened to zeppelin III and IV #i cannot understand calling yourself an army but you've only listened to the songs that have MVs or only listened to the post 2020 releases #what are you a fan for??#because of the memes?? because they're cute??#i'm sorry to be mean but i don't think that's a good reason #i'm not saying that you have to LIKE everything they've ever made #but to not even know VERY popular b sides??#i don't get it i just don't get it #bangtan

Will never understand why Spotify keeps trying to advertise Top 40/UK Charts playlists to me, like who tunes into Spotify specifically to listen to a playlist of Top 40 music? You mean the same Top 40 music that is on every radio station 24/7? The same Top 40 music that is forced into your eardrums ad nauseum, to the point where even if you liked the music to begin with, it very soon becomes meaningless and also oddly rage-inducing? The same Top 40 music I trip over on my way out of the house every morning? The same Top 40 hits that break into my brain and beat my sub-consciousness into submission if I so much as LOOK at a device capable of playing music? That Top 40 music? Who on earth needs it to be advertised to them? The sort of people who need a signpost to tell them they're on planet earth?

#This being tumblr I'm sure there's someone somewhere who does think they need it #But like #If you're going to advertise anything I don't understand why you would advertise Top 40 hits #It's like advertising the concept of breathing #All I'm saying is they're not exactly hard to find I don't understand why someone would need to be TOLD that spotify has Top 40 playlists #Also like unless you're a music writer or reporter who has to keep up to date with this stuff #I don't entirely understand the interest in keeping up to date with chart toppers anyway #If you like the music you like it if you don't you don't #Why would you listen to it solely because it's number 39 on some entirely arbritrary chart #But that's beside the point even assuming that you WERE in need of a playlist of Top 40 hits #Surely you woudn't need to be told that spotify has that in abundance #If you even go to spotify for it at all #Surely you know where to find it #I.e. everywhere #This is the 2020s top 40 hits are in the fucking air we breathe #Also yet another thing to file under: reasons I am glad I no longer work in a shop #Loved the work hated the same 5 hits that are permanently engrained in my memory because management tortured us with pop radio

OH PHEW the esim plan I bought like a month ago finally got activated!! I thought I fucked up the instructions somehow...

#just thinking thoughts...#I told vege guy I was worried I messed up and he was like 'You? With your perfectionism? I don't think so'#which I really needed to hear. and he was right!!!#I'm so good at following instructions. so so good.#umm they used 1.1 GB out of 3 GB in like 2 or 3 days... the sim is only good for 28 more days... I should buy more data huh...#huh. I dind't think this far. I bought it cause I had the extra monies from print sales.#hmm the average person in 2020 used 4.5 GB of data... but that means like nothing.#the average person's wifi infrastucture isn't bombed to pieces in 2020.#hmm... okay I think I will keep checking the data usage and when it passes 1.5 GB used I'll add 5 GB more #the thing is that buying more GBs at one time is cheaper...#umm... I'm not really confident that this phone/person will last through 10 more GB (<- pessimist)#so I'm not adding 10 GB... but I think adding 5 GB is a comfortable place to be.#I feel like youcould like. I don't know. videochat family with that.#I suspect the usage is going to slow down a lot from here because I imagine they'd use it a lot at first #especially if they'd been waiting for one #but then they'd start rationing it really carefully... which might look the same as not using it. maybe?#huh... so should I just top it off right away??#hmm...#I will leave that decision til tomorrow

If you're willing to run another bonus poll, I'd love to know the percentage of your followers listen to audio dramas vs. actual play/TTRPGs vs. both. Or a Kinsey scale of sorts might provide better metrics. I would think there is a strong overlap but would love to see the numbers!

A Kinsey scale is interesting, and I could turn off reblogs so only you all (and people you manually share it with) would answer. That and the limit to just two types of podcasts might provide different results than this poll.

I'd also be interested in quantity of podcasts vs quantity of listening hours, and will try and figure out how to represent two different axes of data on a twelve-option single-choice poll. Given the different average runtimes for the different types of podcasts, someone (me, lol) could easily listen to more audio dramas but spend more hours of their life listening to actual plays.

#Before I started this poll the only Actual Play I listened to was Friends at the Table with the occasional one-shot thrown in.#Since March 2020 I have listened to 60 days and 10 hours of podcasts. 34 days and 8 hours of which have been F@tT main and Patreon feeds.#I only just started The Unexplored Places after this poll and it is already in my top-5 podcasts I've listened to since I switched over to #Podcast Addict in March 2020.#Ask #trinitea-fics #Not A Poll

which makes me sad because i loved season one of euphoria i really did. i hated assassination nation though hated it did not like malcolm & marie either and season two of euphoria is what really cemented him as an enemy of mine so you would have to pay me to watch the idol

#when i still watch season three of euphoria in 2027 or whenever it comes out though please don't say anything #they said they plan for it to come out in 2025 IDEALLY what's ideal about that #i watched assassination nation in 2020 and malcolm & marie when it came out (february 2021) so i don't even know why i expected to like s2 #of euphoria. well i do know it's because i loved season 1 and i also liked the specials but yeah whatever #and i really loved season 1 i watched it three summers in a row like it was my thing then i didn't even rewatch it in 2022 because #season 2 ruined it for me #that one malcolm & marie letterboxd review that's like why is this man screaming over a positive review. the tomato is FRESH! sam levinson #is insane.#malcolm & marie essentially being about a bad review of assassination nation...there's something very wrong with him #the first half of assassination nation is actually entertaining though like it doesn't make my anti top 5 #or even my anti top 16. but i do think it's bad #ask
