Mmm, eggs and hash browns. So much food over here lately.. yesterday I basically had two lunches and I’m all for it. Cereal at 8am, pasta at 10am, and soup at 1pm? Sure, why not?

I caught pep laying on a blanket I made, flat on the floor the other day, just watching his “baby jams” - how we refer to the insane song-filled baby shows that are seemingly constantly playing at our house. So funny to see him laying down out of his own volition.. he’s usually like a mini tornado, always moving and shaking and getting into something.

I got a call yesterday from a number I didn’t recognize and I’m so glad I picked up - it was the women’s mental health group that I’ve been on a waiting list for, for months. So, I start therapy next Thursday and I’m set up for weekly sessions thereafter. They’re virtual for now, which doesn’t surprise me, but does kinda bum me out a little bit. Our house is not huge and it feels weird to be talking about deeply personal things with a therapist when I’m wondering in the back of my mind whether anyone can overhear me. It also would just be nicer to connect with a therapist in person. Alas, I’ll start wherever I can start. I’m feeling hopeful, but nervous.

I also set a reading goal for 2022: 24 books. That feels totally doable, 2 books a month. I’m going to count audiobooks, too.. though it’s not quite “reading”, per se, it’s still kinda reading, isn’t it? Something I half heartedly did last year was read, though I always enjoy it when I make time for it. Know how many books I actually finished last year? 4. 4 books. 😂 I’m on book #2 for the year: The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave. It’s right up my alley so far.. a woman’s husband goes missing amidst a fraud investigation at his firm and leaves a cryptic note and a bag of mystery cash behind.

If anyone is looking for a good source for free audiobooks, I highly recommend the Libby app. For NY state residents, you can go to the Brooklyn Public Library website and sign up for a free ebook library card, type your number into the app, and bam. You’ve got access to the entire BPL ebook collection, which is a ton of books, and way more than my own local library network. I’m sure libraries all over have something similar.

This has been the most random of random updates.. no rhyme or reason whatsoever. I guess that’s what you get when I’m laying in bed awake at 5am. 😁
