Important things:

Lighting mods: I'm using sunblind and better in-game lighting mod (dark saturated dark rooms) so it might look different in your game.

Toggle Keys: I'd recommend changing toggle keys to the ones that work for you (Shaders I found useful to turn off sometimes: BloomAndLensFlares, HexLensFlares & CinematicDOF).

I wouldn't use it for gameplay, but I won't stop you. I only use it for screenies.

Reshade/Gshade: it should work for both

I beg you, do not claim as yours and don't reupload it! Edit it as you will for personal use (in other words, don't use as a base).

it wasn't made for cas but it works (more or less), maybe it looks better with other backgrouds. At least with white backgrounds you have to turn off BloomAndLensFlares, HexLensFlares and maybe the DOF shaders (mainly CinematicDOF).

i added the list of shaders in case you guys are missing some (all of them can be downloaded by default when you install reshade I think). Keep in mind that the order of the shaders MATTER.

"Goodra, why do you seem so worried?" You asked your worrisome Goodra, you just wanted to see how those clothes would look on them. Yet, Goodra seemed hesitant to do so. The large dragon slug shook it's head, you wonder why they seem so hesitant.

"Hey, Goodra, can you tell me what's wrong?" You asked, sounding a bit concerned for the worried dragon slug. "You seem hesitant to try these on." The Goodra let's out a worried cry, it's using it's small squishy arms to indicate that it has a very sticky slime.

"So.. the reason you're worried is because the clothes might get ruined because of the slime?" You asked for confirmation, the large dragon slug nodded.

"Oh come on, don't be like that!" You say, petting the large squishy stomach of the Goodra. "A little bit of slime wouldn't hurt, ya know? Don't worry, you won't ruin the clothes!" You say reassuringly, the Goodra tilted its head to the side a little.

"Hey now, let's try on some new clothes l designed!" You say excitedly, tying a rather large bow around the long neck of the Goodra. "You'll look great, trust me!" You say enthusiastically, the Goodra doesn't seem hesitant anymore now that it's been rest assured by its trainer.

Tag Game for Historical Simblrs!

I initially made this tag game over a year ago at a point when I felt like there were a lot of new people on history simblr I didn't know. I was chatting with some friends and thought now might be a good time to revive it!

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for?

Right now I'm very excited for the 1920s, I have a lot of plans and some unique story lines I feel coming up. It's also feeling like I'll actually get there soon!

2. Do you have a favorite piece of historical cc? (CAS or BB)

Last time I did this I chose a BB piece so this time I'm going CAS, happylifesims recently made a victorian workers outfit with these adorable rolled sleeves and it just looks so good on guys. It's the current darling of my heart.

3. Who is your favorite sim currently?

Right now it's Willy, I'm really excited to get back into the Sewell's and really start exploring his story in earnest.

4. What is your favorite world?

Still Brindleton Bay, always has been, always will be.

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused?

I like to think I mix these two mediums pretty well, I plan big story arcs but tend to let gameplay influence day to day, and if something interesting gameplay wise happens I try to include it!

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves?

I do! I think they add a really fun dimension to the family and are great for social needs.

7. What’s your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game?

All the townies with the strangest colored hair and body types. And names. I just wish it wasn't all so discordant.

8. What’s your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB)

I really like the items that came with the country kitchen kit, the bucket of fruit and vegetables just makes me so happy.

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game?

I'm at the point where I just want a historical pack. I know it's not gonna happen, but gosh a girl can dream.

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer?

I think that Cottage Living is amazing all around, but I'd put Cats and Dogs second, perhaps tying with Get Together. They both have amazing BB and CAS and i prefer the worlds to Henford.

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay?

Mizoreyukii has a functional broom that works like a vacuum and it just makes my little historical simmer heart happy to see my sims sweeping away.

12. What’s your ideal family size for playing?

I like having enough to keep it interesting, but not so many that it's overwhelming. I think maybe five or six but obviously the ages influence things too.

13. Do you use poses?

I do! I like to use in game animations whenever I can because they feel a bit more lively to me, but sometimes you need to track down a pose or wrestle with blender to make one when you need something specific.

14. Do you use any overrides in your game?

Yes, I love overrides. I use moonsims historic book override, a mop override, a dish override, a fireplace light override, a dog leash override. Big on overrides here.

15. Do you, or did you, play off-the-grid during your game?

I usually don't, I find it a bit too limiting for what would have actually been historically possible at the time.

16. What lifespan do you play on?

A slightly tweaked version of normal, but some people have been sort of convincing me to potentially try a longer one.... We'll see...

17. What inspired you to start playing a historically?

A reddit post about the decades challenge, which was just a completely new way to think about playing to me. I'd never really done any kind of challenge before at all and I think the combo of passage of time, goals, and so much fun new cc just absolutely hooked me!!

hi again, do you have any recommendations or media for yandere x reader stories that you enjoy?

i want to mention also that i really really like how you’ve written your stories so far, it’s drawn me in and i’ve read all of them. the plot twist ending for the ex bully yan story is really good, and leaving it on a cliff hanger gives me no closure but lets me imagine and question wth is reader going to do in that predicament. it’s very fun, ok ty ❤️.

for the yandere x reader writers on this site, i really like @shooting-love-arrows and @parasytte - both blogs are on hiatus iirc but still reccomend going through their master lists and tags!! very fun reads.

i also like @yandereworlds as the mods there includes art with their headcanons, which is a really nice touch. and @darling--core has some fantastic yans, so be sure to check them out as well!

if you’d like a yandere fix, i’ve also put two media reccomendations for good media with yandere characters under the cut ^_^

if you’d like to see a male yandere- i recommend the manga welcome to the yandere cafe! it's a funny manga with one legit yandere, and a few "faux" yanderes (at least, that was the case the last time i checked the updates, lol.) the concept is it's a cafe where the waiters act like yanderes (kind of like how in maid cafes, they act like maids- it's for the sake of the customer.) it's cute, the MC is a yandere fan so there is some fun discussion of the trope. i believe there are probably a lot of chapters untranslated though, sadly :( so it’s a bit of a short read!

and, if you’re in the mood for a female yandere(s), i also recently got caught up with the manga gachikoi nenchakujuu- which is a manga about super fans who get obsessed and fall in love with streamers. basically, due to the concept there are a lot of yanderes. the manga follows a group of streamers (3 guys) and the different fans that obsess over them, which each arc covering a different streamer. it's a psychological drama basically, very fun, and sometimes very disturbing (in a good way!)

oh also the cover of it has two men on the website that i linked to read it- it’s a little misleading, you don’t see the white haired guy at all until the later chapters lol.

Do you have any fics where the boys all meet for the first time? Do you have any fics focusing on Wind being raised as a Pirate clashing with the rest of the gang?

Not in the “Oh he’s so young but is a hero! Impossible!” way. More like “I was taught to react this way to situations and it confuses the others”

There's only one where this specific theme applies, at least that I can think of.

Basically Wind had really bad permanent bruising on his arms from tying rope around them to keep him on his boat because, you know, if you're sailing alone, and are thrown overboard, you're basically dead? I can't find it though. Anybody who knows, feel free to put it in the tags!

My sibling is trying to find a fic, and I've been unsuccessful in finding it so here we go:

It was on AO3. Pretty sure it was Sidlink, but it could be gen. Either one shot or part of a collection of one shots.

In it, Sidon noticed that Link picked all the bones out of the fish he was eating, and thought he was being extremely pick, because only baby Zora really have a problem with eating fish bones. He asked Link and he as like "I can not physically eat this, I will die." and then Sidon felt embarrassed about assuming. It was cute and fluffy.

for someone whose general interests are not very sporty i'm sort of weirdly athletic so quite a lot of things. trail running, gymnastics, swimming, bit of motorsport i guess. i'd like to do the berkeley marathons if someone invents a way to hold a busted knee meniscus together. i'd prob do an iron man or something but i don't like cycling.

oh gosh, okay, tbh, in general idk if i have a favorite, i do like a classic death by old age just because it makes me feel accomplished, lol, but specifically i think it'd have to be the time forrest bonnet died of cardiac explosion the literal second i hit play once i finished building his house 😂

idk why but i am definitely more maxis match for ts4 and semi-realistic for ts2? it just feels RIGHT to me

Do you cheat your sims weight?

only for my story sims, in the spirit of keeping things semi-consistent between chapters, because i swear sim stede gains weight faster than any sim i've ever played, and sim ed often ends up TOO BUFF from all of his energized swimming 😂 other than that, i do not, i just let them do their own thing. i dont really use too many custom body shapes for ts2, but definitely coming back to it after playing with the diversity in ts4 has been a bit jarring, but also custom body shapes are a lot of work so. idk what the solution is!

i think mostly i've gotten better at taking and editing pics? gos was pretty much my introduction to sims cc (with the exception of some sailor moon skins/heads i had for ts1 that my dad had to help me install 😂) so that had a HUGE influence on my style that i never really strayed from. i think i toned it down a bit in ts4, but at my core, i am still very neon/grunge oriented

But maybe the community time one? like you can't really play with all the family members in other sims games like you can with this in sims 2. Like in sims 3 and sims 4 I just mostly play with like one sim, but with this I kind of like extra time to focus on this sims life without missing out on the rest of the household? I dunno. Like it's not perfect, but it really revolutionized my gameplay.

First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? With sims 2 i have like no idea (I was really young visiting my friend's house), after that I got ultimate collection I think?. With all of the games sims busting out for PS2 was my first sims game. (lol pien lukihäiriö minä luki sen ain et ryntää raiteille O__O)

I crop them and add some blur effect to the background with krita (it's kind of shitty tho xD but who cares) and them might do some like darkening effect on the side of the picture. death by fright is fun with how it can escalate, ghosts killing people to create more ghosts killing more people... i enjoy the chaos of a very haunted house 😈

im gonna go with Clementine Bosden, the C heir of an alphabet legacy i attempted in 2011 (which got nowhere near Z, lol). she's a family sim with 1 nice point which is a hilarious combination to me. pictured here raging in the park for some reason & cheating at chess with her wife (an aged-up Chloe Gonzaga). ahhhh digging up these screenshots makes me wanna pick that hood back up again....

20. How has your “sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

my MO is usually to start with one sim, have a bunch of kids & then a bunch of grandkids, get overwhelmed by the number of sims i'm managing & then abandon the family. but now i'm setting up an uberhood to play with LD's story progression and im very excited to see how it goes when i can just focus on one household and let everyone live their lives without me :)

MAY 7, 2024 ASK THE TEAM Q&A

Rocio and King swapped sessions this week, so below the cut you can find all of the questions and answers from the ask the team Q&A:

Q: Two things, will there be a way to customise which books go into which bookshelves on public lots, and how is your day going? A: Currently, bookshelves have baked-in books, but if you have an empty shelf (which we have a few) you can add books separately if you'd like!

Q: Will there be a "are you sure" pop up when removing mods to avoid accidentally deleting wip mods? In the first Modding 101 video, there was none shown when the staff member removed a mod. A: I wanted to update and say this has been added now!

Q: What is the biggest possible lot size currently? A: Our current limit is 120x120 (since we needed some kind of limit), as we figure that's a good starting point. Based on how you all play and the types of lots you all create, we will take a look and reevaluate during Early Access!

Q: Will there be social services that will complain about children being alone at home? A: Gameplay for children is still in development, so details like this are very much in progress! If that's something you'd like to see, please do add it to the ⁠requests channel

Q: Today's video brought up one thing for me: Will we be able to have actual checkouts in stores? As currently it seems like it's more of a "online store ya have to walk to" situation A: It is currently a "self-checkout" situation. However we have noted folks' feedback and requests on more shopping gameplay and are discussing additions for Early Access-- it's on our list of features to prioritize as folks play!

Q: Just the same question from last time. Is there currently or will there be a way to appropriately fill lots with NPCs for places like a night club to make them busy? Something like pinging them to certain lots or having filler npcs A: Great question! The way the game populates the town is through temporary workers like those that arrive on the bus, however you can add additional randomly generated characters at any time using the Live Edit mode (just keep clicking the + until you get the number you'd like). In terms of essentially "summoning" folks to one location, the way to do that would be through Events! In your example of a Nightclub, you could create a nightly event to gather folks at the club. I hope that answers your question, but please let me know if I misunderstood!

Q: Can we tag certain items to be more popular with people with certain personality traits? So for example, a character with the snob trait will be more likely to buy expensive or rare clothing? A: I think this might be the answer to your question, but let me know if not! Rather than adding tags to objects, you add Trait Appeal to the interactions on those objects. For example, if you have someone who has the lifestyle Active, they are more likely to participate in interactions with high Trait Appeal for Active. Interaction tags are used by traits for other purposes, but you can make your own tags, apply them to Interactions, and apply new or existing Interactions to a Lifestyle's Trait Appeal!

Q: Do the planters only hold one plant each? In today’s video that big planter had one plant each and it looks like it’d hold 3 A: Currently planters hold one plant each-- that said, we want to continue to add planters during Early Access, including some that can support multiple different types of plants!

Q: Can we paint one tile wall only? I'm not too keen on painting the entire wall, Also tying in to this, is there a way to paint the entire room? A: You could paint a section at a time if you create your wall in segments! Alternatively, you can use trim (which you then color/customize) to break it up. As for the full room, we are working on this feature (we noted the feedback in a previous video!), however we're continuing to finetune it as we want to ensure it's painting the right amount of "Room."

Q: Will the Wiki be available in-game like it is in Stellaris? Both Live and in the Editors? A: Currently the wiki isn't available, but if that's something folks are interested in, we'd be happy to take a look at it during Early Access!

Q: [replying to the questions asking about tagging certain items to be more popular with certain personality traits, questions #7] Does this apply to clothing as well? A: To follow up here, this isn't currently a possibility, but it is on our list of things we'd like to add to the tools during Early Access!

Q: I understand that group actions and conversations are not going to be part of initial Early Access rollout next month. These are pretty big features and I'd love to know more about where they are sitting in the developmet process e.g. - They are on a list to be figured out - You are pretty sure how they will work and are just waiting for them to get to the top of the list - There are a few exciting ideas competing against each other internally - They actually are already being demoed in a rough form, just are not ready for public consumption yet - Its something that's going to be tried and tested with the EA players first as we help shape it - etc? A: They are indeed planned for Early Access! In terms of priority we are going to be listening after June 4th to you all to see what comes in at a higher priority, but yes! We can't wait for group convos and actions as well

Q: Are the cloth physics done using physics bones, or Unity's built-in cloth physics system? A: Great question! So hair uses bones physics, and clothing it depends-- Handbags are using bones. Other clothes it depends on the design, but largely the clothes physics system. Our artists would exchange clothes physics to bones if the result was not looking natural, so we've found it's best to play around with it!

Q: Does the music app in LBY (that previously is said to connect to local MP3 files) have local album covers, and if so, are they customizable? A: You can add your own .mp3 files, however it does not display album covers yet! Love the idea though

Q: Have you considered religion system that is made with your own made up religion (like The Sims Medieval) To give players some system we could use. Or do you want to avoid religion altogether? A: We don't currently plan on adding any real religions to the game, however we will have an in-game mythos that will be unveiled over time for players who like that style of gameplay! We hope that this will be compatible and a bit of fun for people of all faiths

Q: Are better cars animation on your list? I mean like entering the car instead of just car appearing out of nowhere with human in A: Yup!

Q: Oh, right. The whole "rarity" system with items&clothing has gotten me an idea: Will we be able to equip a legendary dress or something with a perk? (the whole rarity system makes it feel very RPGy to me) (sth along the lines as that legendary dress making folk wanna talk to ya as to ask where ya got it from&such) A: Great question! So this ties to the same question that tarheelgurl was asking actually. Clothing doesn't currently have tags or interactions scripts, but items do-- so there are items and objects with rarity that do affect gameplay. For instance, if you have a Pointing Trowel in your inventory you will harvest Archaeology items much faster. That being said, definitely still something on our radar, especially as folks like you all are asking about it!

Q: Is the team considering making a custom face and body slider pipeline? A: As far as adding a pipeline or mod tools for sliders, we don't have any immediate plans around adding that. We are glad to add new body/face sliders based on requests, so if you have any, as always please drop them in ⁠requests
