Episode 3 ~ Thicker Than Water

But the main goal of the week is work! Hopefully soon I'll have saved up enough simoleons to move up and out of this place. I still plan on staying here in San Sequoia. It's a place not overrun with vampires but I'm honestly not sure how much longer that will last with me being around. I do tend to be a vampire magnet.

The next day, Cheetah aged up into an adult cat! That was quick!

The family took advantage of the last bit of Autumn warmth and spent most of the day in their pool playing Timla Tourneau.

Then, when Elliott went inside to shower and change for dinner, Monique and Jennifer hopped into the hot tub for some adult fun. They've been all over each other this round - I don't have ACR; they just keep rolling Woohoo wants!

And the round came to an end that night as the season changed. Just for fun, have a posed family picture for the first time ever! I was inspired by the various Simblrs I read (@rena-sims and @keoni-chan in particular) to download poseboxes and give it a go because I think they're cute. I wish I'd had them sooner but never mind! I think from Round 9 there are some photos around the houses as well!

Anyway, lots of progress this round! Monique's business reached Rank 5 so she will join the Business career at the start of next round and start working on her LTW. Jennifer reached the top of her career and unlocked the ability to finance a connection to Downtown. If and when the town has another §100k handy, we'll fund that so that we can finally visit hobby lots and open businesses selling things that haven't been handmade.

We also added another community lot, which unlocks one more CAS point bringing our total up to 7. I need to add another family soon!

Jen is now 54, Monique is 44 and Elliott is 10.

Episode 3 ~ Thicker Than Water

Narrator: Sometimes Lydia wondered if there was more to life, if there was more to the world itself. She spent the past night unable to sleep, troubled by thoughts that seemed almost entirely foreign to her, having this odd urge to go outside, to open the door, to step out into a night that seemed oh so welcoming.

She didn't. Some small voice, perhaps part of her lizard brain, told her not to. That there was danger outside. That if she opened her door she'd find that the other voice in her head, the strange one, belonged to a liar. If she stepped outside she would put her life in jeopardy.

Normally, this wasn't the case. She lived in a guarded neighborhood where she would feel safe jogging at night so why then should she hesitate to open the door? The reason was obvious. Because she had a feeling, a thought, to open the door. It didn't make sense, it's not like she had a cat she wanted to let inside or any reason to have such a desire, so where did it come from?

She spent most of her night then on the couch,  strewn upon it, wondering if someone was going through her mind. That very thought alone seemed crazy, entertaining the idea, insane, but once the hint of the coming morning slipped through her windows those strange thoughts begin to fade as if being burned away by the purity of the sun.

Maybe it was nothing, she thought, hoping to start the day off normally but eventually being forced to rise thanks to the ringing of her doorbell...

The Arlington players won six awards during Sunday night's 2023 Washington Area Theatre Community Honors Awards ceremony.
