Crisis of Self

As mentioned in my previous post I haven’t been too well in myself these past couple of months; I allowed stress and work to get the better of me.  One symptom of me not doing well is that I remove myself from certain types on Social Media and I withdraw.

I’ve been working on my stress triggers a lot and I’ve come to realise I have four main triggers:

*  Work *  FInances *  Eczema / Acne *  Guilt

So far I’ve only really delved into my work trigger and I’ve started to dig into why my monetary situation is causing me stress.  While I’ve been working on myself I realised that I’m having an identity crisis; I feel like my personality is fragmented and I’m struggling to put i together again.

I visualise my personality as separate versions of myself who come together to form “me”.  It took me re-watching AHS:  Hotel to make me realise how much I haven't really been true to myself, I’ve been, unconsciously, imitating my sister-in-law.  Katie has helped me in the nine years I’ve known her, she’s helped build my confidence massively, but I’m not her; my dress sense is different, my likes and dislikes are different my personality is totally different.  I’ve been mimicking her because my own self-esteem has plummeted and I used to do this as a kid, copy someone else or pick up on someone else’s behaviours and adopt them as my own.  

I’m trying to discover my own self again, the most I feel like myself is when I’m teaching a Body Combat class; I feel like I belong there, but I’m still trying to figure out what style of instructor I am.  I think I’m happy, positive but intense one - bringing the fun to the workout but switching to totally hardcore, wouldn’t mess with me during the harder tracks.

On a side note:  I passed my IMT Body Combat training at the end of February, I’m team teaching currently to help build my confidence and get myself ready for my video assessment which I’ve provisionally booked in for 9 April - the day before my 30th birthday!

I also have two cover classes this week - one on the 6th April and one on the 8th April.  I’m really nervous to cover the 6th April one as when I team taught as I received some feedback which was more of criticism.  At the time I took it on the chin, it was only my second time team teaching and realised not everyone will like my teaching style.  However, now this class is looming I’m really nervous participants won’t want me especially as I’m still teaching BC70 and BC71 is due to be released this week.
