A Magpie, drowned in death. Wings clipped, torn, but not beyond repair. That which was dead would never die, or so the saying went. Certainly not after the Haemonculus unwittingly removed her chains. He couldn't help grinning, the newest actor to grace the stage was brimming with potential, enough to garner the Laughing God's attention. It was exceedingly rare for a human.

Then again, she was only half.

Nocturne could feel the power, the chaos, radiating off of her from the moment he stepped onto the streets of Commorragh- a golden beacon in the dark. The blood of She-Who-Thirsts, though tempered and indirect. That farce of a trial couldn't hold her, and neither would the Dark City. The look on Vect's face would be hilarious.

The vultures scattered as soon as he approached her, though she was left with little for them to scavenge. This was not a concern- she would need neither weapon or armor upon waking. The Chaos-Born, the Warp-Maiden, descendant of That Which Did Not Exist, Rogue Trader. Her role was yet to be fully named, though he looked forward to finding out just who would step onto the stage.

She began to convulse, broken limbs resetting, rebuilding. Tendons and muscles knitting together, cuts sealing. A drowning gasp, her eyes sprung open- words in an impossible language spilled out of her, a reclamation of identity. She arched, writhing, screaming, a shockwave through the Dark City he had to brace himself for.

Long minutes passed before she went quiet, panting. It seemed less effort than it should have for her to sit up, to get her bearings. He watched as she flinched, then reached behind her head and pulled- and out came the parasite. She stared at it, incinerating it with a flick of the wrist.

Only then did she notice Nocturne watching her. He bowed his head to her, stepping closer, "Chaos-born, are you ready to begin?"

I ate the little pumpkin chocolate mousse cakes from Trader Joe’s, pumpkin shaped pumpkin spice waffles from Trader Joe’s, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, the ice spice drink from Dunkin’s, and am currently watching Sam and Colby’s new vid, I LOVE FALL SO MUCH

Another spot we finally got to visit on a trip to Denver was ADRIFT🗿 In contrast to Hell or High Water, ADRIFT is going for a more classic (but definitely elevated) Polynesian Pop dining experience in the vein of Trader Vic’s, and manages to do a lot with a fairly small location! The food we had was great, there was a good mix of classic tiki drinks & new school cocktails and they even served the drinks in tiki mugs, which is always a plus to me.

This spot has a two-hour visit limit & I would love to visit again, just sit at the bar & try a couple more of their cocktails! 🍹🍹🍹

if you're still up for it, thoughts on the part of rote that is the most underrated to you? :]

Oh this one is really good!

So, you can basically divide rote in "fitz books" and "non fitz books" and because a lot of people only care about fitz there isnt a lot of content for the other books :( i think the Liveship Traders trilogy is criminally underrated, i honestly think its one of the best parts of the series, even better than some of the fitz books!

Liveship Traders is so good, it follows several members of a merchant family and the trouble they face due to political and economic changes in their city, and it deals a lot with gender roles because most of them are women and they are forced by circumstances to take on leading roles, and the story also deals with slavery and the cycle of abuse and it has the absolute best villain in rote. I wish more people talked about these books because i love these characters!
