Quitting forever transformed my health! . . . @jenn_mfnutrition Do you like coffee? âď¸ Donât hate me when I say this, but If you suffer from period problems it might be time to cut back or eliminate it all together⌠According to the book In the FLO- Your genes can actually impact your ability to metabolize caffeine safely. Emerging research on genetics has zeroed in on a gene called CYP1A2, which controls an enzyme that breaks down caffeine in the liver. Based on your gene variation your body will either produce a lot of this enzyme, making you a âfast metabolizerâ or only a little, making you a âslow metabolizer.â What this means for your cycle- The CYP1A gene is also involved in estrogen metabolizing. If youâre a slow caffeine metabolizer youâre likely a slow estrogen metabolizer. When you drink a lot of caffeine or energy drinks your liver has to work overtime to eliminate the caffeine and may not have the extra micronutrients available to flush extra estrogen too. POWERFUL! ⢠@jenn_mfnutrition If you want to do something youâll find a way, if you donât youâll find an excuse! I think about this often when pursuing a goal and helping clients better understand their own goals. When obstacles come up and you canât do something đŻ to you tell yourself I donât have time for that? Thatâs a pretty easy excuse and Iâll admit Iâve used it myself... What if instead of justifying not doing something as not having the time, you spoke to it as not your priority, how would that change the conversation. âI donât have time to eat healthyâ then becomes âeating healthy is not my priorityâ... Ouch đŁ âI donât have time to workoutâ then becomes âworking out is not my priorityâ đł Maybe itâs time we start rephrasing our priorities... But also rephrasing our expectations around those priorities. We seem to ignore the fact that there can be middle grounds and revolving priorities itâs just a matter of identifying those. Eating healthy doesnât have to be all or none! Going to the gym doesnât have to be all or none! Your priorities can come in increments and increase over time. Donât focus on the things you canât do, focus on the small things you can.
