Monday Through To Sunday: Trey Cahill x Reader (CSI: Vegas)

Trey Cahill is an instrument of chaos. You learn that within five minutes of meeting him in the CSI parking garage. He’s charming, roguish and has a smile that’s racked up more notches on his bedpost than cases you’ve closed.

“He has never met trouble he hasn’t loved to get into.” Josh tells you distractedly as he drops the screwdriver into an evidence bag.

That includes you.  

It starts when he comes to your rescue during one of the most turbulent thunderstorms Las Vegas has seen in years. Your car breaks down and you ended up stranded by the side of the road when his tow truck pulls up alongside of you.

“It must be fate.” He smiles as the two of you sit in the cab of his truck, completely soaked to the bone. He turns up the heating, tilting the vents towards you so you get the lion’s share of the hot air.

It’s that simple act of kindness that leads to him spending the night at your place. He ends up tangled in your bedsheets, fucking you to the sound of the rain pattering on the windows.

“Let’s do this again sometime.” He murmurs against your lips as he lingers on the doorstep. “Maybe tonight after I drop off your car.”

He pops by frequently after that, to change your oil, check your tire pressure, tune up your engine. It always ends the same way, his hands running through your hair as he fucks you so hard you see stars.

You don’t realise how serious it’s become, not until he ends up in jail. When they release him back into the wild you’re waiting for him on the steps of the precinct.

“Folsom told you what happened?” He asks as you hand him the strawberry slushie you’d bought from the kiosk down the block. He presses it to the bruising that’s blossoming across his cheek bone.

“I don’t need you to play the white knight.” You tell him, prodding at the ice with your straw.

“Noone talks about my girl that way.” He says fiercely. “I don’t give a fuck who it is.”

What happened was this…

Trey had dropped by the Crime Lab, hoping to grab lunch when he’d overheard a defence lawyer call you a sanctimonious cunt. The two of them had ended up scuffling on the floor of the reception area. You’d been in interrogation at the time, interviewing another suspect with no knowledge of the chaos that was unfolding around you.

“Your girl?” You question and he gives you that look.

“Yea.” He says, his eyebrows furrowing into a frown as he sips through his straw. “I’m not seeing other people.”

“I thought you had a woman for every day the week, that I was just your Tuesday girl.” You say and he pauses beside you.

“Monday all the way through to Sunday more like.” He retorts before pulling something out of his back pocket. “I keep a picture of us in my wallet, the one from the photobooth in the bowling alley.”

He hands you the photo strip and you find yourself smiling as you study the images. Your faces pressed together beaming, your lips brushing over his grizzled cheek, the two of you kissing, your teeth grazing his lower lip.

“I’m not seeing anybody else either.” You tell him as you return the photo strip. He tucks it back into his wallet before returning it to his back pocket.

“I’m sorry if I caused trouble for you today.” He murmurs, his forehead coming to rest against yours. “I just couldn’t stand to hear him call you that, not when I know how hard you work.”

“I must be doing something right.” You say softly, your palms coming to rest upon his firm chest. “Especially if he was cussing me out that badly.”

“Oh he said terrible things.” Trey teases before he cradles your face between his hands. “I meant what I said baby, you really are the only girl for me.”

2019 MLB Predictions

AL East

Boston Red Sox – (all in a Boston accent) Man do I hate them moah than those gold-chain and backwahds fitted hat wearin’ Yanks. The team just won the World Sehries in pretty easy fashion. How can I bet against ‘em? They have the same loyneup. Heck, if they strengthen theahr second base and catcha positions, there will be no stawpin’ ‘em.

New York Yankees – They added Adam Ottavino and Troy Tulowitzki. Their bullpen is filthy. They have enough home run hitters to knock it over that 200-foot right field wall. This team is poised to win 100 games. I dread watching a bunch of gold chains and bare-chested Yankee fans banging the padded outfield walls during the playoffs, but it’s going to happen, so I’ve just accepted it.

Tampa Bay Rays – This team was sneaky good last year. 90 wins and no one talked about them. Their analytics department is one of the best in baseball. They added Mike Zunino. They have an all-around solid team. They might be able to land that second wild card.

Toronto Blue Jays – They’ll hold Vlad Guerrero down until he works on his defense or loses weight until he magically figures it all out around a Super Two cutoff date. They are obviously rebuilding because they can’t compete with the top three teams above them.

Baltimore Orioles – This team is brutal. Unless Trey Mancini, Chris Davis, and Mark Trumbo find strokes again, they may lose 120 games.

AL Central

Cleveland Indians – They were rumored to be in talks with teams about trading Kluber or Bauer. They didn’t. Their lineup is still solid and they don’t have much competition in the Central.

Minnesota Twins – The Twins might be sneaky this season, unfortunately. Nelson Cruz at the DH helps. Berrios is a future Cy Young winner. They have talent.

Chicago White Sox – They didn’t land any marquee free agents. We know why. Moncada and Anderson will take steps forward. We can maybe even see the same from López and Rodón. Eloy will be up right around April 15 for some reason, and Abreu can stay healthy. They’re poised to win about 73 games…MAX.

Kansas City Royals – They’re somehow going to be worse than the Sox. They have some fast guys…I guess.

Detroit Tigers – They may trade Castellanos and Josh Harrison by the end of the season. Look for them to round off an VERY weak AL Central in 2019.

AL West

Houston Astros – Come on. It’s the Astros. My guy Alex Bregman will be in the MVP race and finish second to Michael Trout. Altuve, Correa, Cole, Verlander, Springer, etc. It’s still a loaded team.

Oakland A’s – I doubt they live up to what they did last year. They were a sneaky good team, but they also had Trevor Cahill and Edwin Jackson put together their best seasons. Not to mention, their closer was Blake Treinen. Treinen is back, but I don’t see this team being better than 2018. Maybe they’ll surprise me.

Los Angeles Angels – They got Trout. They got Ohtani. They’ll get 82 wins or something.

Seattle Mariners – They’re rebuilding. Kikuchi hides the ball better than a magician with a card up his sleeve. They have some youthful talent, but again that’s about it this season.

Texas Rangers – This is just not a very good team. That rotation is absolutely atrocious.

NL East

Washington Nationals – Eaton could be at full health. Maybe Drake LaRoche will lead them to a World Series. I don’t know. Losing Harper didn’t necessarily kill this team. They added Yan Gomes, as well.

Philadelphia Phillies – Harper joins them, and so does Cutch. This team is good now. The rotation needs some work, but the lineup can do the heavy lifting.

Atlanta Braves – They added Donaldson, but compared to the rest of the division, they didn’t improve as much over the offseason.

New York Mets – The rotation is always good, and everyone gets hurt by week 3 because their training staff is worse than coffee breath. Cano can always hit. Lowrie was a nice addition. The same goes for Wilson Ramos and Edwin Diaz. If the staff is healthy, this team is solid.

Miami Marlins – That sounds about right.

NL Central

Milwaukee Brewers – They added Grandal to catch. The rest of the team is the same. This is an easy pick.

Chicago Cubs – Watch them win the World Series because I put them here. If they don’t have injuries, this team can win the division.

St. Louis Cardinals – Goldschmidt was a heckuva addition. Maybe Fowler can stay healthy. This bullpen is still shaky, though.

Cincinnati Reds – The Reds added Kemp and Puig. They also added Sonny Gray. This team could surprise some people. That lineup is sneaky stacked.

Pittsburgh Pirates – This team is so-so. Unfortunately, they’re playing in one of the toughest divisions in baseball.

NL West

Los Angeles Dodgers – They’re still good. Kershaw is experiencing injury issues again, sadly. The rest of the team is good. They added Pollock. Catcher could be shaky, but this is still a good ball club.

Colorado Rockies – They extended Arenado and Blackmon. This is a morale boost. They’re still good.

San Diego Padres – They added the prized possession, Manny Machado. Watch out for Franmil Reyes. They dude hits for power. Tatis, Jr. will be up around the same time as Eloy and Vlad. This team is the ultimate kick to the stomach for White Sox fans. Thank GOD, they play on the west coast.

San Francisco Giants – This team is not very strong. Their best players are older than Cub fans claiming no one goes to Sox games.

Arizona Diamondbacks – They’re as weak as George Costanza without his glasses.

SUA. Juriul l-a declarat pe fostul polițist Derek Chauvin ”vinovat” pentru moartea lui George Floyd, din mai 2020. Sentința va fi pronunțată de judecător peste opt săptămâni.

La scurt timp după anunțul juraților, fostul polițist a fost reținut. Judecătorul Peter Cahill a precizat că pedeapsa va fi anunțată în următoarele opt săptămâni, potrivit CNN.

Cei 12 jurați au deliberat timp de zece ore, pe parcursul a două zile. În acest timp, au fost complet izolați de sursele de informații. Ținând cont de acest aspect, președintele Joe Biden a făcut un anunț după ce a discutat cu familia lui George Floyd: ”Pot doar să mă pun în locul lor și să-mi dau seama de presiunea și anxietatea pe care o resimt. Sunt o familie bună și fac apel pentru liniște și pace, indiferent de sentință. Este un caz cu adevărat copleșitor, mă rog ca verdictul să fie cel corect”.

La Minneapolis, orașul în care s-a petrecut incidentul, Garda Națională patrulează pe străzi și în jurul sediului de poliție sunt instalate bariere, iar poliția din Dallas a anunțat că s-a pregătit pentru eventuale proteste, potrivit CNN.

Procesul a durat trei săptămâni. În acest timp, procurorii au argumentat că fostul agent de poliție Derek Chauvin l-a sufocat până la moarte pe afro-american. În schimb, apărarea a argumentat că Chauvin a acționat ”rezonabil” și a insistat că Floyd avea probleme cu inima și consuma droguri, probleme care ”au condus la deces”: Fostul agent Derek Chauvin a pledat nevinovat la acuzațiile de omor fără intenție și ucidere din culpă

George Floyd și-a pierdut viața la finalul lunii mai a anului trecut, în timp ce se afla în custodia poliției din Minneapolis, statul Minnesota. Acesta fusese reținut de polițiști, iar agentul Derek Chauvin a fost cel care și-a ținut genunchiul pentru mai multe minute pe gâtul lui Floyd. Din înregistrări, se observă cum Floyd îi spune polițistului că nu mai poate respira și îi cere să-și ridice piciorul. În urma decesului său, au avut loc sute de manifestări și proteste violente în SUA.

Uneori istoria găsește o modalitate de a se repeta și de a te surprinde cu ciudățenii neprevăzute, pentru a modela unul dintre cele mai fericite capitole din viața noastră. Așa a fost pentru Simona Halep finala Roland-Garros 2018.

Cu un an în urmă pe Philippe-Chatrier, aceasta a condus-o pe Jelena Ostapenko cu un set și 3-0, doar pentru ca letona să întoarcă meciul și să-i frângă inima. Douăsprezece luni mai târziu, Halep s-a găsit pe sine condusă cu un set și un break în fața lui Sloane Stephens. Privind abisul celei de-a patra înfrângeri într-o finală de Grand Slam ce se profila, Simona s-a întors în timp. Și-a privit proprii demoni în ochi, s-a reîntors și a schimbat soarta meciului. 

Mulți așteaptă încă să câștige un titlu de Grand Slam. Pentru Simona Halep asteptarea a luat sfârșit azi, 9 iuni. La Roland-Garros 2018, de data aceasta, titlul – și tot ce vine cu el – îi aparține.

Orice îndoieli profesionale au fost ridicate asupra ea, indiferent ce întrebări au fost puse capacității ei de a obține prețiosul titlu de Grand Slam – totul se încheie aici.

Toate fantomele trecutului au fost alungate. Poate că a avut nevoie să piardă patru finale de Slam înainte de a câștiga unul, dar victoria de azi înseamnă că niciun pattern întunecat nu-i mai poate fi asociat. Fiecare înfrângere poate fi raționalizată. A pierdut pentru un motiv atunci, așa cum a câștigat pentru un motiv acum.

Așa cum era de așteptat, nici acest titlu nu a venit ușor pentru ea. A trebuit să sape adânc, să muncească enorm și – evident – să pună în aplicare lecțiile învățate în acest interval de un an de la ultima finală disputată la Paris. După înfrângerea cu Ostapenko, Simona a repetat aproape obsesiv că trebuie să fie mai agresivă în momentele importante.

Fiecare om din lumea asta a simțit că astăzi trebuie să fie momentul Simonei. A condus întâlnirile directe împotriva americancei cu 5-2; a câștigat toate cele patru întâlniri recente în două seturi, dintre care trei au venit pe suprafața preferată a lui Stephens, iar în ultimele trei seturi disputate înaintea acestui meci doar trei game-uri fuseseră câștigate de Stephens.

Cu toate acestea, în primul set, fiecare din aceste statistici s-au transformat în praf.

La începutul meciului Simona era vizibil stăpânită de emoții pentru că era pusă sub multă presiune. În tribunele de pe Philippe-Chatrier antrenorul ei, Darren Cahill, s-a așezat foarte liniștit, mișcându-se numai atunci când privirea lui se întâlnea cu cea a Simonei. După o greșeală, ar fi aplaudat să o încurajeze pentru următorul punct, alteori ar fi aprobat propria mișcare a Simonei, în timp ce ea își făcea semn să rămână calmă, punând ambele palme cu fața în jos.

Uneori, unda electrică de comunicare nerostită dintre ei era aproape vizibilă, ca și cum cei 15.000 de spectatori de pe Chatrier s-ar fi topit, iar marele stadion îi găzduia doar pe Stephens, Halep și Cahill.

Asta însă nu a contat prea mult  în primul set. Defensiva fără margini a Simonei a întâlnit un adversar pe măsură în Stephens. Aceasta a fost povestea începutului de meci – o Simona care investea profund în fiecare lovitură și o Stephens care urmărea mingea de pe linia de fund așteptând ca apărarea româncei să cedeze înainte de a dezlănțui un forehand câștigător. Aceasta a făcut-o break pentru  3-1 în primul set, și a reușit din nou același lucru chiar la începutul celui de-al doilea. Intensitatea lui Stephens era terifiantă.

Pe măsură ce spectatorii credeau că favorita nr.1 se îndreptă înspre o nouă înfrângere dureroasă, Simona își croia drumul spre victorie.

A luat patru game-uri la rând și, brusc, Stephens simțea pericolul. Americanca a găsit o modalitate de a stăpâni accelerarea Simonei, a făcut un rebreak la zero  pentru a pune setul înapoi pe servă. Dar de la 4-4 în al doilea, aceasta a mai câștigat doar un singur game.

Nu a mai putut să fie ea cea mai plină de resurse, care să întoarcă totul, așteptând încă o dată ca Halep să se rătăcească înainte de a dezlănțui o lovitură câștigătoare. De data asta nu a mai existat nicio oscilație din partea Simonei. La 4-0, Cahill era în picioare cu ochii ațintiți asupra Simonei, cu pumnul înfipt în aer, pe măsură ce Halep oglindea aceeași celebrare înspre tribune.

Trei game-uri mai târziu, ziua a aparținut Simonei, iar titlul odată cu ea. În cele din urmă, Simona Halep este campioană de Grand Slam!

Clasamentele sunt trecătoare și fluctuante. Va veni acea zi Simona nu va mai deține poziția de număr 1 mondial, dar nu va înceta niciodată să fie campiona Roland-Garros 2018.

“Am pierdut de trei ori înainte și nimeni nu a murit, așa că va fi bine”, a spus ea înainte de această finală. Și avea dreptate – e în regulă. Dar acum, momentul acesta e glorios, iar când  va reuși să se dezmeticească din băutura fericirii, va avea parte de o liniște cathartică.

Titlurile sunt veșnice, iar aceasta îi aparține Simonei Halep.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans is a American crime drama film directed by Werner Herzog and starring Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, Tom Bower, Jennifer Coolidge, Alvin ‘Xzibit’ Joiner, Val Kilmer, and Brad Dourif.

Though the film’s title and story loosely resembles that of Abel Ferrara’s 1992 film Bad Lieutenant, according to Herzog, it is neither a sequel nor a remake; its only commonality is a corrupt policeman as the central character. Nonetheless, the director of the original Bad Lieutenant film, Abel Ferrara, expressed dismay that the Herzog film was being made. Both Bad Lieutenant films were produced by Edward R. Pressman.

In August 2005, Terence McDonagh is a New Orleans police sergeant. While cleaning out a locker after Hurricane Katrina, he notices that a prisoner may not have been transferred. When he finds the prisoner about to drown, he mocks him before eventually jumping in the water to save him. He is promoted to police lieutenant and given a medal for his work, but has suffered a serious back injury because of the rescue. As a result, he is prescribed Vicodin to manage the pain.

Six months later, McDonagh is now not only addicted to painkillers, but is habitually using several other drugs including cocaine and cannabis. He has convinced a person that works in the police department to bring him drugs sent to the evidence room. His girlfriend Frankie Donnenfeld, a prostitute, also does cocaine and they often share drugs. He has become estranged from his father Pat, a recovering alcoholic, and his alcoholic stepmother, Genevieve. Over the course of the film, he uses his position as an officer to bully people and steal more drugs.
