I’ve been thinking about spells!avengers 1 again in preparation of getting ready to start writing it, and. Man. The Stark household makes me sick /pos

Specifically, I’ve been thinking about Tony, Pepper and Atlas at the start. All of them together at Stark tower, celebrating the success of pulling it off the grid and running it purely off of its own arc reactor. All of them together and just… happy. Atlas is settled in, Tony and Pepper are going well, and things for once are just easy. It isn’t really this simple again.. ever. It isn’t even calm again until at least after iron man 3. So this moment is way more important than I thought at first. It’s quite literally establishing the status quo so I can then go on and break it.

Of course the good mood all falls apart rather quickly as Coulson arrives and explains why he’s here, but that very first moment, the three of them together, really is the calm before the storm. It’s the most normal things feel for a long, long time, which is incredibly important to Atlas after her life was uprooted by Otto’s death.

He arrives and Tony just knows this can’t mean anything good. Pepper isn’t as immediately suspicious, as she’s interacted with Phil a few times and it hasn’t always spelt disaster. And Atlas is thrilled! He and Coulson get along well after all. They both bond over superheroes, Phil enjoys Atlas’s company (its refreshing given the usual people he has to deal with), and Atlas enjoys Phil’s company (is one of the few adults he trusts and can speak to without worry, given he knows about Otto’s death, and more importantly in this context, that Tony’s taken him in.)

When Tony first adopted Atlas, Coulson alongside Fury and Natasha were the three that got involved. Given what they knew of Tony, they were understandably concerned about Tony’s ability to be responsible enough to look after an at that point 10 year old. Tony proved he could, they got to see just how close the two of them were, and they were all genuinely happy for both of them because it was easily the best option.

And importantly, Atlas’s adoption is currently being kept way, WAY out of the public eye. Losing Otto was bad enough. None of them, Atlas included, want her to deal with paparazzi or the risk of becoming a target. Atlas doesn’t have many people she trusts or wants to speak to/spend time with, despite Tony and Pepper's best efforts. Coulson, already aware of everything and an occasional visitor/on good terms with Pepper and Tony, is on that short list of people she actually does feel safe around!

This kind of turned into a Coulson and Atlas post. Oh well, they make me sick too

SPELLSLINGER CHARACTER: Sandon Barton

Just thought I'd give a rundown of my main OC in @trickstar-mcu's Spellslinger AU!

He's based on me, as he's my self insert sort of character for this story! I have a few other OCs and characters in the story, but this is my main guy!

Though his full past hasn't yet been figured out, Sandon is a teenager with no magical capabilities, and has no intent of ever becoming one of those crazy superheroes he sees on the TV.

He's the adopted son of Laura Barton, and refers to his adopted parents by first name, always found tinkering at the family safehouse. He knows Natasha, and both she and Clint know about his... secret.

What secret? Well, Sandon may or may not be the only one in his body. And not just because he's a system. Nope! He's got a symbiote by the name of Mayhem, who is mysteriously detached from the hivemind. Very few people know about this, and Sandon intends to keep it that way.

Sandon, upon learning his best friend Atlas is the one and only Spellslinger, becomes their equivalent of the 'guy in the chair'. After all, it's a bit hard to keep a superhero identity a secret when you share a dorm room / rented home. Oh, and, you both happen to be family of the Avengers.

Speaking of, Sandon does not trust most of the Avengers! He of course trusts Nat and Clint, and is neutral on Steve and Thor. Steve becomes an ally of his during Age of Ultron, and Thor is undecided, but bonds because Thor just goes "Hello Atlas's friend and slime associate" and Sandon kinda just goes What Did He Just Say.

So yup! That leaves Tony and Bruce, the two people he is actively afraid of! And honestly doesnt vibe well with, especially in Tony's case. The two of them would be incredibly curious about Mayhem, as well as Sandon's general fear of the Hulk and distaste for the way Tony behaves.

Which, yes, it is fun that Atlas is Tony's kid and Sandon, who is Atlas's best friend, does Not Like Tony's Vibes.

Honestly, it's super funny because Sandon adores Atlas but Cannot stand his father figures. So it also extends to Loki, who Sandon has no interest of ever trusting because ITS LOKI? ATLAS ARE YOU FOR REAL? And Doc Ock is scary too like. Those Are Villains Atlas What Do You Mean.

Sandon's entire thing is that despite having the power to, he chooses not to be a superhero or avenger. He just wants to live his life with his QPR slime husband and his family out on the farm.

Also, besties with MJ and then later Peter and Ned too, he helps cover for the squad when they all vanish for superhero stuff. MJ, Sandon and Ned MVPs for Peter and Atlas who just Vanish Sometimes and the others cover for them at school lmaoooo

Cat. No job. No responsibilities. Just snuggle and sleep and eat. Pampered by my owners...

Hoodie (i'm never out of those) and loose jeans. It's what I always wear anyway.

Uh. Comfy. Always comfy. I ceased wearing skinny jeans a little bit ago because now they're awful so I bought a bunch of looser pants that just don't squeeze my legs. I'm always in short-sleeves, and I ALWAYS have a hoodie with me. My main color cameos are black and pink and grey.

5. Regular milk or plant-based milk?

Regular, whole milk all the way 😎😎😎 no broken bones here.

6. Which one do you put first, milk or cereal?

Cereal

7. Favorite way to kill someone?

Hmmmm. Maybe strangling/asphyxiation. Gives them time to reflect on their lives.

if you could be any animal which one would you choose to be? (can be fictional) (and you can explain why if you want to) i want to be a cat! either domesticated or wild! though lately i've been loving to see videos of the black-footed cat. it's around the size of a house cat, ridiculously adorable, should be cuddled, and has like the highest success rate at hunting of any wild cat, so good for them!

what would you choose when you're in a hurry and have nothing to wear? jeans if those are an option because they go with most everything, if not i've got some black sweatpants/windpants/etc that i only wear at home or if i have nothing to wear. then whatever random t-shirt or hoodie (depending on weather) is clean. depending on weather i'd either do slides, slides with socks, or some of my boots that are easy to put on and comfortable

are you a witch, vampire, fairy, dryad, siren or a mermaid and why do you think so? vampire. i don't really have any reasoning other than i think vampires are cool and i don't really care much about the other options.

what is your style? this...is harder to answer than you'd think. i'm someone that isn't really into being stylish or fashionable. i usually don't care about trends that much, and if there ever is a trend i do like i only take part of it. and i guess i combine things a lot? idk, i just wear whatever seems chill to me. um. i usually wear skinny jeans, but i also like bootcut (don't kill me but i'm not a fan of the straight jeans that are popular right now). i like to wear t-shirts with something relevant to what i like. but i get cold easily so i like to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath or an unbuttoned plaid shirt on top. speaking of plaid, i also like to wear plaid shirts on their own buttoned up. and i wear cowboy boots a lot so i guess i rock a bit of a country vibe. also i frequently wear a a silver leather jacket so yeah. i literally just bought knock off doc martens at a thrift store that i'm super excited about. also i really like vibrant colors! like that is a thing i struggle to shop for because i feel like in the us everything is pastel and/or muted rn. i actually loved living in brazil for this reason. the dresses and skirts in particular had very vibrant colors and lots of designs and i just loved it. and there were some things specific to the northeast that i loved too (tenho um vestido com imagens de caju e flores, bem nordestino). so i brought home some dresses and skirts. also i really like to hike so i wear hiking shoes sometimes, and i have shirts specific to hiking i like to wear too bc they're so comfortable. so yeah. i don't think i really fit into a clear cut style. which makes sense bc pretty much never in my life have i cared about trends and all.

regular milk or plant based milk? regular. though one time i had homemade ice cream made from almond milk. definitely didn't taste like normal vanilla ice cream. but the almond flavor did make a nice ice cream. so i guess i like almond milk for homemade ice cream.

fav way to kill someone? (idgaf if you never thought of it now you have to think of something and make it at least a bit cool I'm begging) like in terms of fiction anything with swords and/or knives are fun. especially if it isn't like an easy kill. like the character has to be smart about it. in terms of maybe-this-was-real-but-we-have-limited-evidence, go watch the episode of mythbusters about a chinese flying guillotine. i'm sorry but it just seemed awesome. we have no artifacts of it, no drawings, only a brief mention in a piece of chinese writing. so we don't know for certain it was real, but mythbusters proved the concept to be possible. in terms of hypothetical-irl, something that doesn't bring the blame easily. shows that the killer was smart. make it look like an accident that carlton lassiter would try to close the case on but shawn spencer would show up out of nowhere claiming it was premeditated murder level of accident.
