The article "Pistol Practice with a Purpose" by Mike Boyle emphasizes the importance of deliberate practice and maintaining skills in firearms handling, especially for personal defense. Boyle argues that mastering foundational marksmanship and handling skills is crucial since the use of a firearm in self-defense requires quick and almost automatic responses. He acknowledges the constraints modern life imposes on time and resources, noting that ammunition has become expensive and practice opportunities limited. Consequently, he suggests alternative training methods such as dry-firing, using inert pistols, and practicing at home with dummy rounds to keep skills sharp. He further stresses that while aiming and point shooting both have their places, consistent practice—whether on the range or off—is essential for developing an intuitive and effective defense response.

hey btw if you're in the USA at  2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.
if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.
additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.
i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."
"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

unfortunately for a lot of creeps on here, i might be brainwashed and conditioned to obey, but i'm also brainwashed and conditioned to have excellent subject agency
so if you try to drop me without my consent, the only thing that's going to be triggered is the block button and me telling you to fuck off :)

I love when characters get that wide-eyed, surprised expression right before their hypnotic trigger activates, as if it caught them off-guard.
Like, say a character was hypnotized to fall asleep whenever he hears a finger snap. One day, he's minding his own business, when someone snaps. His eyes widen before he falls unconscious, as if his brain is saying: "Oh, right! The trigger!"
That face could represent so many thoughts.
Maybe they're thinking: "Wait, I'm hypnotized, aren't I?" Or "Whoa! Why do I suddenly feel so strange?" Or maybe it's just a surge of obedience flooding their brain, and their eyes widen because they just entered trance.
Literally any option is hot. Good stuff.

Dan noticed that the creepy old nerd walked in to his sanctuary and his whole body shivered in instance. Mr. Crofft grinned at the sight of all the muscle men working out on the gym floor and with just a simple click of his finger, almost 80% of the gymgoers froze in their place. Dan is not one of them, and he's pretty much surprised with the sight he's witnessing
"W--what the fuck? They're all under your control too?"
"Well yes, my boy. Everyone that looked down on me eventually succumbed to me and my whims. But I set things differently for my top guys, like you,"
Hidden in that statement of his, lies another thing that triggered most of the people left behind that didn't fall under Mr. Crofft's click as Dan realized the panicked and confused look shown by the rest of the people that survived the first phase went soft and docile.
"You're a fucking monster, Mr. Crofft. You won't get away with this,"
"Oh I'm afraid I already got away with this for too long, you silly beefcake,"
And just like that, Dan's resistance is over as his muscular arms slumped to his side and his eyes looked blank despite the wide smile programmed by Mr. Crofft to be shown by all his muscle puppet
"Strip to your underwear. Let me check on you and your progress,"
Dan takes off his tanktop and shorts to reveal a shredded physique with nice balance of muscle distribution.
"Flex, let me take my measurement tape and see how big your biceps, triceps and the rest of your body,"
Tumblr media
And with no pause, Dan flexed his arms as he remained staring blankly to the mirror, his body groped, prodded and even showered with Mr. Crofft's piss and cum as the old man practically treated the aspiring young jock like a mere ragclothes for him to wear how he pleases and discarded once he finished. When Mr. Crofft leave the gym premise, all the men released from his influence and returned to do their normal routine, Dan found himself under the running shower with no recollection how on Earth he ended there, probably pushing himself too hard to do his workout until he blacked out, he thought to himself

The article "Lost Secret of Pistol Shooting: The Crush Grip," written by Massad Ayoob, delves into the evolution and significance of grip techniques in pistol shooting, particularly the "crush grip." Ayoob explores how trends in handgun gripping have evolved, particularly from the 1980s trend of "60/40" hand strength distribution to the revival of the crush grip. This technique involves applying maximum force, which aids in overcoming the issue of "milking," where sympathetic finger movements can misalign shots. Citing renowned experts such as Col. Charles Askins Jr., Bill Jordan, Rob Leatham, and contemporary trainers like Tom Givens, Ayoob emphasizes the grip's importance in both accuracy and defensive scenarios. The crush grip is recommended because of its ability to maintain control during rapid fire and its potential benefits in weapon retention during confrontations. Ayoob encourages shooters to adopt this approach for improved gun handling, particularly in defensive contexts.

The article "Ayoob: Is Your Trigger Finger Placement Wrong?" by Massad Ayoob on The Armory Life examines the significance of proper trigger finger placement for accurate shooting. Drawing on traditional handgun training wisdom, Ayoob explains the importance of finger positioning—using the pad for short, light trigger pulls and the distal joint for long, heavy ones. The article highlights the impact of "trigger reach" dimensions and the advantages of the "power crease" for efficient shooting. Ayoob also advises caution against the "h-Grip," illustrating potential long-term hand injuries. Overall, the piece encourages shooters to experiment with their finger placement to find the most effective approach for their shooting needs.
