Welcome to my reliving of my 2015 AT hike.  I have decided to share my trip as a day by day memory.  Each day I will share my personal journal (what I captured while hiking the trail), my comments (thoughts about the journal/trail from present day), and pictures from the day of the hike.

Staying - Trimpi Shelter

Fun day of hiking.  Easy trail and good / interesting views.

Passed the Lindamood single room school house.  I think this is the school that YouTube AT video thought was in Maryland.... check when you get done.  FYI - school was cool - should have taken a pic.

Ate lunch @ partnership shelter.  It was beautiful.  Two floors, showers, potable water, and about 0.1 mile from a visitor center.  I almost stayed even though I was at the shelter at 11am.

Glad I didn’t.  I’m staying w/3 section hikers who are eating steaks and drinking wine.  Good news - I’m getting part of their steaks b/c they can’t eat it all.  Awesome trail magic.

Comments

I think two things made me like today:  Good weather (i.e.. no rain) and trail steak.

Awol guide notes that hikers can call for pizza from the Partnership shelter.  I considered it.

Rockfish, the hiker, (See 12 Oct) hiked into Trimpi shelter about an hour after everyone had gone to bed.  He spent a lot of time looking for stuff in his pack.  Good guy, but I think he was a little disorganized on the trail.

11.02.17 • Day 165! 🤗 Aside from some seriously sore muscles from too many days off, today was fantastic! Eager as heck to get back to the trail, we woke up early for the continental breakfast, got packed up, and walked to Walmart to wait for the bus. The weather today was beyond beautiful, so we cruised right along. We had an awesome lunch at the Trimpi Shelter, and a super fun break when we were four miles from camp. There was lots of trekking pole twirling, some ninja-playing while on break, and we nearly ran into a huge black snake on the trail. We got to camp pretty early, and were fast asleep before the sun went down.
