DEBUG OBJECTS - Base Game

This is a bunch of OBJD/OBJK overrides to make various props and other objects available in the Debug > Misc catalog. Objects can also be placed on slots! I didn't add strings for them, so some objects simply don't have names or have incorrect names in the catalog.

As this does not change the script of functional objects, sims may try to clean up plates/food/glasses etc. I recomment using NRaas DebugEnabler to disable interactions. The child stool also sometimes will not let you pick it up once placed, but can be deleted by shift + clicking.

If you have any default replacements for these objects, they will show up as the default instead!!

Note: Some objects I wanted to include simply refused to show up in the catalog. For example the hammer, wrench and screwdriver. But if there are other objects you would like me to add, send me a message!

Note #2: There were 3 game controllers in the game files and i'm not 100% sure which one belongs to which pack. i think this is the base game one, but if it's not showing up for me please let me know!

Around the Sims 3 | Hair Care Clutter

I realized that I hadn't enough clutter around hair care to decorate my Sims bathrooms (but is "enough clutter" a possible thing? Not so sure...), so here's few basic things I needed (and I hope everyone needed to! ;)), from shampoo bottle to scrunchie, brushes... Typically "my" style, ie reminding real trademarks, but in a more cartoonish way, and purely simlish. Clearly, we're not in inZoi here! ;)

It will be released on Around the Sims 3 the 2nd of May. It’s available in early access for Patreons right now.

To the ones who missed out the 12-day event, or just wanted to revisit the goodies, here's everything under one post. Enjoy! 🎅

🎄 DAY 1: 2to3 Kitchen & Bath "Tres Rugs by Sleek Sensations"

This rug actually has five presets (I said only four in the advent post *facepalm*), where one preset has only one channel, three have varying color channels, and another one that is not recolorable. Found in Decor > Rugs, costs §430.

🎄 DAY 2: Cozy Patio Table

I made this table using the legs from the "Deluxe Cozy Terrarium" from Outdoor Living, then put a glass top and voila! A cozy patio table. Five slots as with any 1x1 dining table with one channel. Found in Surfaces > Dining Tables, costs §200.

🎄 DAY 3: 4to3 Snowy Escape "Bamboo Forest Fence"

Yep, we are still lacking various fences in TS3, hence converting this gem from Snowy Escape. Three channels, costs §25. Found in Build mode > Fences.

🎄 DAY 4: 4to3 "RAW Utensil Holder"

For the clutter lovers, here's something for your kitchen, if you also love the industrial accents from TS4 like me. Four channels, costs §430, found in Decor > Sculptures, Misc.

🎄 DAY 5: 2to3 Kitchen & Bath "FaceBowl by Sleek Sensations"

This conversion took almost a year in the making and thought would never get finished, but here it is, finally ready to conquer your bathrooms! Four channels, costs §670, found in Plumbing > Sinks.

🎄 DAY 6: Outdoor Living "Class-E Dining Table" Unornated

I love the stuff from Outdoor Living, but why didn't EA make un-ornated versions of the furniture for variety? And so I did the work. Same channels and slots as the original, only differs in price which is now §825. Found in Surfaces > Dining tables. Outdoor Living not required.

🎄 DAY 7: 2to3 Apartment Life "BLOK Jr. Block from COGnition"

I miss the industrial/gearhead aesthetic from TS2:AL and this wall is one of those, so I converted it. Three channels, costs §11, found in Walls > Panelling.

🎄 DAY 8: Outdoor Living "The Poet's Respite" Unornated

Another un-ornated piece of furniture from Outdoor Living (I just couldn't stand the cursive elements sometimes @.@). Lowered the price to §300, everything else is left intact. Outdoor Living is also not required.

🎄 DAY 9: 2to3 Kitchen & Bath "Pots Descending from Ceiling"

I hate repeating myself, but yeah it's nostalgia that's the main reason why I convert 2to3 items. Especially from this stuff pack, I'd love to convert everything else left unconverted from it (but the counters stop me from doing so). Two channels, costs §160, found in Decor > Sculptures, Misc.

🎄 DAY 10: 4to3 Max20 Shark Plush Toy

I've been pondering if I should put this one up for download, because I couldn't find the original cc post to link. But having seen this 4to2 conversion, I figured I should also share it. Two channels, costs §100, found in Decor > Misc, Kids > Misc. Credits to Max20 for the original TS4 creation.

Fun fact: I own a real life counterpart of this plushie (I got this as a secret santa gift), and now my cat has already claimed it as his property. 🐱🦈

🎄 DAY 11: Ambitions "Le Sconce" made fully CAStable

I hate it when EA decides to make an object part unrecolorable when there are actually many ways to redesign it, like in this default replacement I did on a mirror. This wall lamp now has the emblem CAStable, and also edited the mask into three channels for a more versatile recolorability. This is a default replacement, so you need Ambitions for this to work properly.

🎄 DAY 12: 4to3 "The Centurion"

Need something to fill your dining room but too lazy to decorate it using shelves and clutter? Say no more! This pre-decorated hutch from TS4 is now also available for TS3! Three channels, costs a hefty §1880 (why EA?), found in Decor > Sculptures.

TSR CC Recommendations: TS2 Lot Builders

Nobody asked for this but I have a little time on my hands and I said I might do it, so here is a list of some TSR lot builders who I recommend checking out. A few notes under the cut before we get started (all details under the cut, as well, in case you aren't interested in my preamble):

This is not meant to be paid promotion for TSR. I believe TSR asking users to pay for their CC is ridiculous, especially for a 19 year old game they haven't supported in 7 years. But I spent many years uploading there during the peak-TS2 / pre-TS3 era and know there is great CC in their archives that newer players may not know about. And unlike TheSims2.com, which has sadly shuffled off this mortal coil, TSR's content is still available to freely download (assuming you can stomach the pop-ups and wait times)

This post will only be about lot builders because that was what I was primarily uploading and downloading in this era. I was friendly with some of the creators I am about to list, but none of them are still active members of the TS2 community.

The preview pics might be a little rough and the architecture styles will likely feel very dated compared to the most popular styles these days, which are more colorful, cluttered, and use 3t2 and 4t2 conversions. Re: the previews: too many of us were using free trials of PaintShopPro back then, and TSR limited us to 2 previews, so we did our best. Re: the styles: unlike pre-2010's CAS CC, which was full of hand painted and "realistic" textures (LOL), these are the same objects you can find in the game today, just being used in different ways! Sometimes for the first time! And, yes, while some of these creators used CC, it was mostly Homecrafter walls and floors, as you'll see below.

This was also the hey-day of CFE lot building, which has certainly fallen out of favor to more traditional builds (in part because graphics cards have improved and these types of builds don't look as good in 2024, and also because the great CFE experimenters, builders, and tutorial writers are no longer part of the community and their original discoveries are gone as well - I am happy to go down a massive rabbit hole on this piece of TS2 history if anyone else cares, but trust me, you don't have to care).

Alright that is enough caveating, here are some recs! (Links are in the creator's names and they take you to their Lots, though many of them have other creations, too).

Lord Tiko Speaking of great CFE builders! Lord Tiko built spaceships, boats, pagodas, domes, windmills and bridges, oh so many bridges before retiring mid-TS2 because of health issues. He was one of the first builders to take Daihtnaoz7's single and double bridge tutorials and apply them to really big lots. I'm still not sure how he built the Venice Rialto Bridge, or his other European water lots. Overall, a massive inspiration to me when I was prioritizing CFE builds.

Hatshepsut My favorite "traditional" home builder, and someone I considered a friend. She specialized in English and American builds, and I had many of Hat's houses in my old saves and was impressed by her range and decorating style which was (for the time) more varied than many of her peers. Knew how to take great preview pics of her houses, too.

Tigerblue Another builder I corresponded with, Tigerblue was probably the least prolific uploader on this list for sheer number of uploads, but she also crossed a range of styles. Her builds leaned way into specific styles (see the previews, these were all part of consistent sets of 3,4, or even 10 lots), but this was also what happened when a new EP dropped and everyone raced to uploaded builds using as many of the new objects and styles as possible. Tigerblue just happened to be better at it than most of us.

Cyclonesue Do current TS2 players know Cyclonesue? Because it's hard to think of someone who had a bigger impact on building and decorating of the era, first with her English and Tudor builds and later with her extremely distinct grunge creations. Seriously, check out her Urban Renewal series and the corresponding objects. Iconic stuff that surely now feels frozen in time. I probably only played 20% of her lots that I downloaded, but they still make for great hood decor. Like Tiko, someone who happily experimented with CFE.

Illiana The creator who inspired me to make this list is, ironically, the one on it who I know the least about (she is a Featured Artist but not in the Hall of Fame, whatever that means). I just started playing her Tri-Annyas fraternity house and have a few other lots floating around my game. She built in a range of styles, from classical to modern to Twikki Island to grunge. Revisiting some of them in-game, the TSR previews do not do them justice.

*EXHALES* If you made it to this point, kudos to you. I'm sure there are creators I've forgotten, and houses I haven't linked to, but this is a good starting point for digging into some of the eclectic builds the TSR(chives) have to offer (I just coined that, is it clever? It is not). Maybe I'll do a Part 2 if people like this.

i think i want to make cc-creation less of a priority and focus more on playing the game such as making over townies, making over lots, and creating drama in the town. i actually have so much to discover about this game because i've been so heavily focused on making sims and CAS cc for years.

making cc is a lot of fun, and super useful niche skill, but sometimes it's felt like more of a chore than a hobby to relax. i'm gonna put less pressure on myself to Make Stuff, and go more with the flow... make stuff only when i genuinely want to.

another resolution i have is to embrace the TS3 maxis match style. i used to think "everything EA made is ugly, i only want to use cc, more is better" but i've really changed my mind about that. i also like having a less cluttered build/buy mode, it's so much more efficient to find things. it's so easy to end up with huge folders of cc i never actually use because cc-shopping is 99% free, there's an endless amount of it out there, everything looks so nice. but i need to be realistic with myself about what i *actually* like, need, and use.

in summary: shop less, make less, play more 😝

TS4 CC: Clutter converted from TS2 and TS3

Assorted clutter from TS2 and TS3, I used 3to2 conversions by Misty Fluff and Amovitam for the TS3 meshes. Found under Clutter in buy mode. Most of these only have one swatch, as that's all they had originally.

Market Day!

* Village Event Announcement *

Market Day at TS3 Medieval Market

This Saturday (February 22, --25), saddle your horses, load up your wagons, and head on down to the new Market to sell, buy, trade and barter your goods with other Villagers!

[This is a free event involving no real currency, just downloads]

The Tavern & Inn (Storytelling, Show & Tell, Discussions)

            The Tavern always has some sort of story to tell or news to share amongst the locals, but perhaps a new tale would be nice? Share your adventures with the Village as you have a meal, sit by the campfire, and people of all ages and walks of life listen to tales of woe and foreboding, folklore, songs and dancing. Of course, say hello to your friends and catch up on the local gossip before you leave!  

The Market (All the CC Categories)

            There’s so much to acquire in the market that it might take a while to see everything! Make sure to ask around, people are always happy to point you in the right direction.

Have you tired of looking at the same old items around your home? There’s a stall for default replacements to help give your belongings a fresh look!

Need to upgrade or improve something? Mods will have what you’re looking for.

This Village doesn’t suit you anymore? Ask about worlds-caw, and start planning your move.

Love the Village, hate the house? There might be rentals available at lots.

A busted fence, a broken window and a squeaky door… You need build, they’ll craft something custom for you!

New furniture and home décor will be over in the buy stall.

Oh, my dear… that hair… and the young Lady will be needing a new dress for the season… of to CAS with you both!

The Castle is looking for staff. Find work in Careers.

Need someone to help around the farm? Find a helping hand in SIMS.

This horse is lame, the stable will be able to help you buy a new horse, there might be pets for sale as well.  

Looking for textiles, lumber or stone? Oh yes, you’ll find those over in patterns.

What’s that lovely smell? That must be recipes-ingredients!

Our barn is cluttered with old holiday decorations… let’s free some space and dump it off at the holiday stall to resell!

Cargo (Requests, Conversions, Tutorials, Trades, and more!)

Have something you can’t find, but want? Are you willing to trade or barter? I’m sure someone will be willing to make a deal!

You could also ask in cc-requests, or the suggestion box. I’m sure there are people looking for ideas in collaborations as well.

Wanting to host an event in the Village? Put it up on the board at challenges-events.

Have too much to carry by wagon? Request a warehouse and you can store all of your stuff there! You can also explore other warehouses, just make sure not to leave your own cargo there!

Vendors

The Village Market thrives on sales and purchases alike! Be sure to come with something of value, or the merchandise may run out sooner than you’d like!

Remember, the Market accepts newly crafted items, sentimental favorites from the past, and everything in between! Just make sure not to sell granny’s quilt without permission, or we’ll all be in trouble!
