Annie Stroudley & Clarabel Stroudley

Age: 61 (Annie is older by 10 minutes)

Height: 171 cm

Twin sisters, close friends with Edward for decades and his flatmates. They also are Thomas' nannies and look out for him whenever Edward is busy. Both care for Thomas a lot and it's mutual. They are giving him good advice and are patient with him even if his impulsivity can become frustrating. Annie and Clarabel are both kind, joyful, patient, wise and supportive but Clarabel can be rather forceful from time to time.

Henrietta Holden

Age: 66

Height: 159 cm

Toby's devoted wife and caring foster grandmother of Percy. She was delighted when Toby agreed to her purposal of taking Percy in. Henrietta is a typical housewife and grandmother, enjoying regular domestic activities but also goes out a lot to meet with Emily, Annie and Clarabel. She and Toby have been happily married for decades and just as much in love as on their first day. She knows Toby better than everyone and knows how to calm him down, cheer him up and offers advice at any opportunity. Henrietta is also very hostpitable as she welcomes friends of Percy as well as Mavis, Toby's apprentice, with open arms, Mavis especially has basically become part of the family.

She has a calm and caring nature and she enjoys a quiet and peaceful life just like her husband and has a strained relationship with her reckless and chaotic sister Hannah.

Tyler "Toad" Swindon

Age: 30

Height: 165 cm

Oliver's best friend and sticks with him ever since they met during Oliver's great escape. Toad usually cheers Oliver up whenever he feels down and keeps his ego in check when it gets above his head again. Before the two met Toad was homeless after he fell into poverty when the company he worked for made him redundant. He received his nickname after he embarassingly fell into a pond during a school trip but he likes the nickname regardless and uses it to this day. Toad is overly polite, adressing everyone with Mister or Miss, considerate, appreciate and thoughtful but does not hold back at communicating his frustrations, especially when he feels left out.

Percy: oh he’s okay, he just got back from his “Day out with Thomas” event.

Edward: did something happen?

Percy: no, it’s uh…. You better see it yourself…

Thomas: okay, but if any of you laugh, I’m telling the fat controller!

Edward: nobody is going to laugh at you, I promise.

I noticed something today in “Down the Mine:” after Thomas mocks Gordon, the narrator says, “Annie and Clarabel were deeply shocked. They had a great respect for Gordon the Big Engine.”

Why do Annie and Clarabel respect Gordon so much? That’s a genuine question; I feel like I’m missing something here.

I’m guessing they knew him before Thomas became their primary engine. But at that point, I’m not sure Gordon would give the time of day to small, aging coaches. So how did he gain their respect?

Was it because he was an express engine and there were railway hierarchies associated with that? Was it because he embodied the growing prominence of their railway? Or was it something else?

I’d love to know what you guys think!

TTTE Humanized Headcanon Height Chart

Am I jumping ahead a little bit? Perhaps. But even though I haven't gotten around to drawing every character yet, I have a pretty good idea of how tall I want every character in my TTTE human au to be. I'd still call this a tentative height chart, since like I said I haven't drawn every character yet. But even if I change my mind on the exact numbers, the characters' heights relative to each other won't change. Once I finish drawing everybody, I'll draw out a proper height chart.

Since the RWS and early TVS depict coaches as sentient, even the faceless ones, are the coaches, including Emily's coaches, sentient in this universe? If so, what are their names and personalities and what do they think of one another (for example, what do Emily's coaches think of Annie and Clarabelle?)?

Hello 👋

Yes, a majority of the coaches are sentient, non-faceless coaches are more common on the narrow gauges railways like with Skarloey, Rheneas, Sir Handel/Falcon, Andreas (a few being faceless like with the miniature gauge lines there’s still some with faces along with trucks but it’s not as common as other gauges)

As for Emily’s coaches, they are sentient and have their own personalities and names (I’m torn between Elodie, Elliot, and Elwyn or Morgan, Martha and Martin/Marvin for their names) they get along swell with Annie and Clarabel plus the other coaches though two of them, (I’m not sure which names cause I’m still thinking but it was the guy and the girl of the group) had a bit of negative attitude towards the other coaches, thinking of themselves as superior and were quite a terrible influence, I’ve based it off a fanfiction I’ve on DA where it was during Emily’s HiT era persona and it rubs off of them though I’m changing it a lot)

Over all they along quite splendidly like with Dexter the mobile school coach despite him being an oddball (sure it’s the classic case of them thinking he’s strange but have come around to accept it) I’ve even made some coaches oc for certain characters as well (names are still a WiP though pfft-)

In this AU, they helped to raise Thomas as nannies. They're identical twins and probably view themselves as Thomas' mother. They live with Thomas and Gordon, even after Thomas is too old to need babysitting, because Gordon doesn't have the heart to make them leave.
