actually the most embarrassing thing about dating someone for the first time in five years is that I have learned I am horny exclusively in a tumblr accent. my boyfriend told me he's never heard me say anything horny and I was like what the fuck just last week I told you I want to put Jason Dean in the blender. and I'm only now learning that apparently that's not horny and instead is a cause for concern

One of the strangest things about coming on this website is realizing that I’ve spoken with the “tumblr accent” my entire life, and just never realized it. Just causally making proclamations like “BEHOLD” and referring to anything mildly inconvenient as “my nemesis”. And it makes me wonder how many people irl just assumed I already was on tumblr.

tumblr joke culture really was not meant to exist out in the real world. like you can go onto this hellsite and say all sorts of things, but how are you supposed to explain them when you inevitably say something super weird out loud

like your tumblr accent slips out when you're talking to somebody in person and then it's like wait no don't leave, in my culture it is a sign of great respect to receive threats that an unknown individual is living in your walls

Infusion unit nurse: Ugh. I forget everything. It's a good thing I'm not a waitress. I'd be all "oh you wanted more tea? 30 minutes ago you said? Ah I forgot." Then I'd probably Forget Again, you know how it is 😂

Me: So it's a good thing she's working here, where she's in control of people's lives 🙂

Yall, I got in an elevator today and there was a 20ish woman with green hair carrying a water bottle. The bottle was entirely covered in TUMBLR STUFF.

She had a sticker that said “Do you love the color of the sky?” She had a sticker that said, “Ea-Nasir’s Copper Shop.”

Another guy in the elevator told her, “I like your shoes.” She said thanks and I glanced down—she was wearing Doc Martens that had been decorated with Sharpie.

It was EVERYTHING I COULD DO not to say, “I like your shoelaces.”

Y’all, I wanted to SO BAD.

But I didn’t want the other elevator people to think I was nuts.

he teases error by literally saying “you hate me for my joy and whimsy and also the fact that i’m kicking your ass”

he regularly makes tumblr meme references and accidentally recreates them. i forgot what the meme i’m thinking of is called but i saved a version of it:

he gets up every morning and goes “happy out-of-touch thursday, guys” and let’s be honest, Cross gets the reference for sure.

To answer: yeah, I've got a vague understanding, though that would probably better be called "tumblr personalities" instead of "tumblr accent" as in: "hey, your tumblr personality is showing!"

At least, that's my takeaway. I could be completely wrong!
