How would David react to Rowan catching him sewing up his face and trying to stop or help him from doing that?

LOL that actually sorta happens in the Worms animatic! I imagine this happened before they were really good friends, in the 'barely warming up to each other' phase, and yeah, lets just say Rowan was kinda horrified.

I figure what ended up happening David is was so startled by being caught that, before Rowan could even try to talk him down or help him clean up David just kinda freaked out and retreated into his room, refusing to leave or even speak except to desperately tell him not to call an ambulance, which Rowan tentatively agrees to even tho he's freaking the hell out and their house is full of blood now.

Rowan leaves some medical supplies outside of his door then goes to calm down in the hall outside. When he comes back in again the supplies have vanished. After that its literal days/weeks before they see each other again cause David is mortified of what Rowan must think of him and cant bare for Rowan to see him again after that. By the time Rowan manages to catch David out and about the stitches have already healed into his face.

David is terrified that he just scared off the one person in the world who was even trying to make the effort to be his friend but the whole incident makes actually just makes Rowan more determined.

I think this was the beginning of the end actually.

Recently found this REALLY interesting DHMIS AU called Two of Us by @bunnieswithknives and I loved it so much I decided to make a fanart! I’m definitely gonna draw more fanarts of it, but for now have this mixed media piece inspired by the "what the fuck david" comic

@bunnieswithknives Two of Us AU has me in a chokehold I swear. Could you imagine if David did keep his promise to Rowan but there still wasn't a happy ending?

David was only able to keep his promise with a lot of help from Rowan though. He was not allowed to have anything sharper than safety scissors and nothing heavy enough to be a blunt-force weapon. Rowan stuck close whenever possible so there was no opportunity. Rowan did have to tackle David on several occasions because someone angered him and he started chasing them.

Rowan encourages David to get to know his creations better, and actually spend time and bond with them. It takes some time but he does start at least be on neutral terms with the others, making repairs, adjustments, and customizations to them if necessary or requested. Warren now has a limit for how many times he can ask a month.

It takes a while but he accepts that while Lesley and Roy are 'parents' they aren't his parents. That doesn't mean they can't still be a family. Even if it is a weird one he clumped together with body parts, souls, and magic. And Rowan.

Rowan is starting to feel like a single dad. Not just taking care of the others, but how happy David looks when Rowan says he's proud of him. If only he didn't have to be proud of David for not doing very illegal stuff he shouldn't be doing in the first place.

A couple of years go by, things are going well for David and Rowan. Then a car comes to finish what was started with David's parents. Would be fun if it was their car that's been fixed up and passed around since the accident. All that time worried about getting inside cars but in the end, it didn't save him.

David wakes up scared and confused in the new body because he just died and the car, he's not sure which is worse. Rowan eventually comes looking for David because he hasn't seen the other in hours and sees the new edition. David clings to Rowan because he's something familiar and comforting while Rowan is shocked by the new addition.

Now could have Rowan realize it's David and what that means, or bring in even more pain. Rowan thinks David broke his promise and this is just another victim, them clinging to him because he's another person and they're afraid of David coming back. Rowan calls David's phone but he doesn't answer, Rowan yells at the voicemail that David broke his promise, and how could he break Rowan's trust like that?

Meanwhile, David is right there, listening to what Rowan is saying. He didn't, he would never. He knows what it looks like but did Rowan really think so little of him that he would go behind Rowan's back and… and…… what did he do again?

Rowan hangs up the phone and tries to comfort the now sad and confused-looking puppet. No matter what Rowan tried he couldn't seem to get them to talk or look at him. David must have really done a number on them.

It's not until Rowan gets a call hours later about identifying the body that the horrifying realization starts to set in.

So I was thinking that pretty much the main story plays out the same way but it was Rowan and his sisters in the crash rather than David. (Think about the angst potential if it was Rowan driving while arguing with Samantha or something)

So here we have one mad and bitter Rowan. Indirectly causing his sister’s deaths. He’s a struggling screenwriter who’s desperately trying to put together this year’s musical. Enter David! In your words: “Rowan’s strange roommate who seems a lot happier talking to his puppets than actual people.”

One day, David rushes back to their dorm with a heavy leather book in his hands. He throws it onto Rowan’s desk (who was trying to put together a script at the time) and David thought that the subjects in the book can be used as inspiration for Rowan’s play. David didn’t heed Robin’s warnings about the book and practically forces the goin into Rowan’s hands.

So one rainy afternoon, Rowan films a scene using the spell in the book. Suddenly: the lights go out and glass shatters and the small animatic he storyboarded comes to life, jumping out of the paper and acting out the scene infront of him.

Holy shit.

Of course, due to Rowan not having access to anything to properly channel the magic, this does cause a little bit of mouth blood from underneath his mask. But holy shit!! Magic!!

A couple of days past and David notices that Rowan is wearing his blackout glasses a lot more often than usual.. And using up their bandages.. hmmm

David goes to wake up Rowan who lacked glasses at the time and notices the blinding blue replacing the usual brown. David has his questions..

Rowan has been getting into a lot more fights and “accidentally” getting people injured in theater. Whoops! I didn’t mean to leave that open wire right there! Don’t worry Mr. Duckly! I’ll take them to the nurses office. Due to Rowan’s quiet nature and perfect record, no one suspects a thing.
