thinking about rose and the master meeting and i have decided that it would be a constant flip-flop between ‘intense hatred/disgust that has (mostly) (well.) Something about how fandom’s out here calling Tyler and Damon and Klaus rapists all the time, but only people who dislike those characters- and twisting the concept to only fit the guys they hate. Like can we all just agree they all done fucked up?

Tyler tried to rape Vicki, Damon might not have straight up raped Caroline (she gave consent) but he for sure manipulated and forced her into things she didn’t want (biting and using her blood, stealing and manipulating her friends) and used that to get more sex (when let’s be honest he wouldn’t have), Damon did the same to Andie Star until her literal death designed to prove a point, Klaus is in the same boat as Ty in this one by trying to force himself on Caroline without her permission, and in the same vein as Damon as he took other things without consent (Tyler’s body being one of them).

What this means, rapist isn’t a fun word to throw around to prove that one or two of these characters is immoral to like. It’s a word that applies to Damon while attempted rapists applies to Tyler and Klaus. And just breathe a little- I promise liking a morally grey character whose done bad things (and maybe not even “atoned” for them) is completely fine. It’s good to see the good in a character (especially in a show without any characters who are clean from the narrative), it was the message of the show after all.
