Stigma or no stigma I'm unapologetically me💀

I'm not knocking down your doors to read my posts hell I stopped using tags on my post cos I ain't trying to be found by no one.

I'm unaligned, I don't play by any body's rules. So whatever unstated moral codes yall have don't apply to me. I'm late on the dues and you can't collect🙂

I just try to be respectful as much as I can and I don't have nefarious intentions towards the people I ship- except for Jimin. I WANT TO FUCK HIM.

As a wise Asian philosopher once said; drink on live, life's too short.

At some point you gotta stop caring about people's judgement of you. Me, I just don't give a rats ass. The only thoughts I can't say outloud are thoughts I'm not having. If I can I thinketh it I can sayeth it. The only filter I need is Jimin.

But you right, it's annoying seeing people reinforce negative stereotypes and engage in primitive behaviors such as ostracizing people based on individual differences. Oh he's gay, he must be a child molestor, she's black she must be a criminal, she's into true crime oh she must be a creep.

It's old. Its tired. Stupid and boring. And you can tell not a lot of people are evolved from the way they talk about people. What's that saying, when you judge another you do not define them. You define yourself.

I'm not gonna go on a end all forms of social stigma campaign that's for unicef and BTS.

But isn't it ironical that Tae writes songs about stigma, Yoongi writes Polar night talking about selective hypocrisy and how don't care about facts just as long as you are on their side.

Which is an apt description of this community. It's all about sides and trying to convince people to be on their side by fabricating lies, exaggerating issues, demonizing people, stigmatizing folks, baiting, entrapping, won't let slide cos that's their only window to take them down.

It's almost as if all the hateful things that go on in the Fandom is being projected onto them and they experience the same things some of us experience at the hands of their so called fans.

The hypocrisy of these same people yelling protect tannies, they don't deserve this, that's racism and xenophobic against them yet they will turn around and perpetuate these same stigma against whomever they deem is in the "minority" or different to them.

So judgy and for what.

Personally, I'm having a blast out here to care what anybody thinks. I'm doing things that make me happy and if it's imaging Jms dick with veins on them then so be it🙂

Misery loves company so you'll see them convening on people's blogs and in chat groups to discuss their misery.

It's a shame that someone's opinion, choice of lifestyle, decisions on how to use their platform can make others soo miserable because it screws with their idea of what this space should look like.

I'm doing my thing and I'm glad that thing brings a little joy and laughter to others.

you should uhmmm maybe watch happy donut frenzy.. giggle giggle... so it's pretty much an underrated show made by beginner animators/showmakers and the fandom is pretty small meaning you can almost 100% get recognized if you make fanworks. I'm an animator for the show (not anon tagging because people could find me and know my anon tag is me) and even I started as just a fan of the show.

also there's a lot of shipping, the creator of the show (Zstands on yt) is REALLY cool and active.

Only 1 episode is currently out so don't worry about watching 389274 episodes :3!!

Anxiety just rules my life.

6. What fic have you written with the angstiest ending?

Uhmmm... I’ve heard Only for a Moment has an angsty ending because it’s like they are saying goodbye? But it is a happy ending overall. I think the angtiest one there will be and keep in mind it’s still happy will be What You Like--Tales of Sango and Miroku. Bcz canon-div where Kag doesn’t come back. Sad. But What You Like is where Inukag reunite. So. Yes. Hahahaha...

7. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

These are harder questions than I originally thought they’d be... Probably What You Like? Tied with Holding Out For a Hero the ending is written but the smut isn’t...sue me.... I always right a happy ending though. More ways than one sometimes. Badda bing

8. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?

I don’t do true crossovers, but I do fics inspired by books/movies like Holding Out for a Hero is a Shrek AU, Bad Blood is Burn Notice, Make a Wish is an Aladdin AU kinda

9. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

Yes. I have gotten some comments regarding a relationship between inukag that went too fast. But my only justification is it’s a one-shot and sometimes it has to if I’m gifting the gift of smut? Also, I rely heavily on the fact they are soulmates usually to kinda fuel my fires <3

10. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do--and uhm...usually sweet and loving and/ frantic and mating stuff. 

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

No? I don’t think so. Usually check with my libraries if I have a troupe that’s used a lot so I don’t hit anyone by accident.

Not yet--I have been approached though and gave the green light.

Uhm... Crashing Down. I started it, realized how rushed it was and how I should have probably written it all first and gotten it organized and then posted since its a pretty dark idea. Idk if I’ll ever circle back, but we’ll see. 

16. What are your writing strengths?

I use fragments to the best of my abilities. Inuyasha shares a lot my internal thoughts when he thinks he’s going crazy or has short patience level. Also, I feel like I’m pretty witty.

Also fluff apparently. I apparently can just barf up fluff like no one’s business.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Angstttttttt and action is kinda a struggle too. I feel like angst I chicken out on and try to skip over it rather than draw it out like it should be done and then action well.... I feel like I repeat myself and I don’t paint a good picture.

18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Omg I love it! Too bad I only speak French but I do love some key words or even phrases dropped in a fic in Japanese.

19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Inuyasha

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Uhm... I don’t know really. It’s really hard to pick... I think my baby is probably Shelter though. It was really original and the ideas just...flowed. Also, for an originally-supposed-to-be-a-one-shot and it’s almost at 100k words. So, definitely proud of that puppy.

Fic you spent the least amount of time on: Uhmmm.... Leitmotif. That flowed pretty seamlessly from wherever it is my writing comes from. 

Longest fic: Tano and Kenobi hands down. It’s plotted to be six seasons long. *more sobbing*

I would really like to expand more on the world building of SCARverse and give an idea of how the galaxy’s changed after ten years of civil war and the kind of people Anakin, Ahsoka and the members of Torrent Company have had to become in the interim. 

And I just adore the Obi-Squad in We Three. I just love to work with them and listen to them snark at each other while taking care of Podracer like he’s this precious unicorn they’ve stumbled upon and must protect from the harsh realities of life. They will occasionally read fan fiction and it is a delight. Arulas is a surprising Codywan shipper. Podracer ships Obi/Everything, especially naps, and Little Sister is just mildly horrified at all the smooching.

With a smile and a wave, Didia hurried off into the house, her short, dark hair swinging behind her as she walked. 

“I did not realize Mandalorians passed on their armor at such a young age,” Plo Koon said, looking at Ahsoka and Obi-Wan, curiosity in his voice. 

“It’s probably one of my robes that he’s stolen,” Obi-Wan grumbled in mock affront, his arms folded across his chest. “I’m going to have to cut him off as the Quarter Master has threatened to dock my stipend if I keep asking for new ones every other month.”

“Surely Anakin can’t have stolen that many robes,” Ahsoka said, giving her padawan a disbelieving look. “He’s only three.”

Obi-Wan flushed a little at Ahsoka’s observation and cleared his throat before speaking. “Ehm… yes, well, that is true. Anakin is not solely responsible for my rash of missing robes. But he is a repeat offender.”

Plo Koon laughed at that, a rumble of good humor that filled the room with warmth, helping to calm Ahsoka and Obi-Wan’s nerves about the meeting. “You should be more mindful of your robes, Obi-Wan. They are very expensive when you have to buy them yourself.”

“Master Plo!” Ahsoka gasped in shocked delight. “Are you telling us Quarter Master made you buy your own outer robe?”

“I was young and brash once,” Plo Koon said, having far too much fun. “It is surprisingly easy to lose one’s robes in the midst of a mission.”

ive talked about this a long time ago with regards to that one creep who was shipping Blake and Qrow (this was like a year before they pulled that fake suicide hoax) and i think also in regards to that asshole who shipped Weiss and Ironwood and then claimed to have gotten doxxed with absolutely no proof that it happened and was very obviously pointing the finger at Bumble/by shippers without explicitly saying it (and shes still doing that shit on reddit, like the moment aforementioned hoax hit there she immediately went “it has to be true because it happened to ME” and then went on a long rant about how she was totally the victim for putting creepy art in the main tags  and people called her out on it and how its totally not weird because she married her forty year old husband when she was barely out of her teens)

so im just gonna quote the relevant part of what was said re: the first thing i mentioned

“age of consent means you’re legally allowed to have consenting sex - it doesn’t mean it’s suddenly morally okay for a man in his forties to hook up with someone who hasn’t even reached full adulthood (yeah newsflash dumbasses, the age of consent is an arbitrary limit, it’s not an “at this age you are fully an adult”, growth and development doesn’t work that way, it was picked because there had to be one, not because)“

just because someone is “legal” (and the implications of that term is so creepy) doesnt mean middle aged adults are suddenly okay to start sexually pursuing people who are… well, theyre still teenagers, developmentally speaking (and it has always been so fucked up and creepy that grown ass men make websites and countdowns counting the days and hours and minutes to underage actresses and singers turning 18, it is so twisted and gross). turning 18 isnt a magical transformation where you immediately reach full physical and emotional maturity, youre still growing and developing for a good few years after that (i think its that typical neural development finishes - ie, when the brain can be considered an “adult brain” - at about age 25, and even then theyre not gonna necessarily be fully mature)

there is a world of difference between someone who has barely any life experience, barely out of their teens (and so as mentioned above, still growing and developing), and someone even ten years older than them. no near-thirty year olds should be pursuing and engaging in relationships with someone a decade younger than them, hell even to someone my age (26), someone at age twenty seems like a kid to me - the only reason someone would do that is to take advantage of that lack of maturity, their lack of life experience because theyre easier to manipulate and control and coerce

age gaps become less important as we get older but thats after life experience; theres no big deal in a 30 year old and a 50 year old hooking up really, because theres been time to reach full maturity and get some life experience. but that same age gap where the younger person is 19? thats horrifyingly creepy

and obviously the (stupid) defense in all these situations is “its just fiction” (or claiming in the real life examples  that the younger person is “mature for their age” which is, in fact, code. for “quiet and easy to manipulate”) as if constantly putting art and fanfic and gross porn, untagged and often with no warning whatsoever, on a website with a wide reaching audience filled with numerous impressionable people just looking for context of a show they like. that shit informs reality, that shit is telling those impressionable people out there that kind of thing is okay when its not, its skeevy and disgusting.

This is for the ask meme, but how about top 5 underrated characters or movies? (also your blog has easily become one of my favs, thank you for existing and for your excellent commentary/takes!!!

TOP 5 UNDERRATED CHARACTERS: UHMMM this is hard, cause some characters are underrated by the show but loved by the fandom, and sometimes the opposite, but these are the ones that come to mind:

1. Tyler Lockwood, from The Vampire Diaries. In the first two seasons of the show, he had a pretty fantastic ‘jerkass jock to decent human being’ character arc, and his relationship with Caroline was beautiful to watch. In season 3 Forwood lost all of the emotional depth it’d had and became almost entirely about sex, and then Tyler got put through the absolute ringer and then... kind of vanished? He came back every once in a while to get shit on by everyone (I will never not be pissed that Stefan punched him in the face for daring to be upset that the woman he loved had slept with the man who murdered his mother and slaughtered his pack--he had every right not to want to be around her after that, and to get upset when she refused to back off), and then got unceremoniously killed at some point, I think over on The Originals. I don’t know, cause I stopped watching TVD after season 6. Anyway, Tyler Lockwood deserved better, and that is that on that.

2. Wells Jaha from The 100. It’s been, what, five years since season 1 of that show? And I’m still fucking pissed about the way Wells was unceremoniously killed off in the third episode, and barely referenced again. After having been Clarke’s best friend for most of her life. Meanwhile, the ghost of Lexa, Clarke’s two-week fuck buddy (god, ok, before anyone comes to yell at me, I’m sure they were in love and it was longer than two weeks, whatever, I never cared for the relationship and I didn’t buy it in the slightest) has been haunting the show ever since she died, turning up every season like a bad fucking penny. But Wells who????

3. Alistair Theirin from Dragon Age. Now, don’t get me wrong, a lot of the fandom loves him, but I see a lot of that love centering on like... cheese jokes and ‘lol he’d be a terrible king he’s a fuckin dork’ and like, I get it, but also??? This man has been through some shit. He was abandoned by his mother, his father dumped him on Arl Eamon’s doorstep where he grew up feeling lonely and unwanted because Eamon’s wife thought he was Eamon’s illegitimate son and treated him like trash because that’s the kid’s fault of course, then he was shipped off to the Chantry because said wife was sick of having to look at him--and he didn’t even fit in there, it wasn’t until he joined the Grey Wardens that he finally felt like he had a place in the world, and he had a family he loved, and he lost literally all of them. Including the man he’d grown to care for as the father figure he’d desperately wanted all his life. And it of course depends on the choices made, but Alistair can be a damn good king if given the chance, and sometimes I get tired of people acting like he’s some helpless fop who exists to be the butt of jokes.

4. Clint Barton from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’m sure I don’t have to go into detail regarding how he was criminally underutilized from the very beginning--he was taken out of half the action of The Avengers via brainwashing, and it only got worse from there. A family was dropped on him out of nowhere, effectively cutting off any potential development and growth he had via any other relationships. And all of that aside, there is a wealth of potential characterization and personality in the comics that MCU!Clint just... doesn’t get. There are glimpses of it, and Jeremy Renner absolutely could’ve pulled it off.... but nope. And I don’t even want to get into what Endgame did to him. But basically, he was written off as the ‘boring human’ (where even Nat got to be The Gorgeous Superspy) from the start, and just... never got to grow beyond that. And it was incredibly frustrating to watch.

5. Luther Hargreeves from The Umbrella Acadmy. I’m still mad about the way the fandom treated Luther and his trauma vs how they treated Vanya’s (and there are exceptions on both sides but you still can’t throw a stone in the general tags without seeing some anti luther crap), and how it’s totally ok and understandable that Vanya slit her own sister’s throat because she couldn’t control her emotions or her powers, but Luther was evil incarnate for believing she was dangerous and trying to keep her contained until they could figure out how to help her without risking her destroying the planet (remembering that he had no way of knowing what a trigger that room would be for her). Anyway, Luther deserves better and I hope season 2 treats him well.

TOP FIVE UNDERRATED MOVIES: Probably won’t get as detailed here but!

1. Aquamarine. I actually wrote a post a while back about this movie cause it’s??? So good??? And such an amazing take on how love is important in all forms, not just romantic, which is pretty rare for a romcom, and I just really love it.

2. George of the Jungle. There’s a post floating around out there about why this is such a great movie, and how it flipped the ‘sexy/objectified female love interest’ trope on its head, but I don’t see this movie talked about enough and it should be. (The first time I saw this movie, I was six years old, it had just come out on VHS, and my father laughed so hard he fell off the fucking couch. It was the kind of thing that can only happen once, the first time, because after that you know it’s coming, but it’s still great on rewatch and I just. It’s such a good fucking movie ok.)

3. Sky High. Why isn’t there more of a fandom for this movie. It was great, and I’m still mad it didn’t get a sequel yes I still ship layla/warren don’t judge me, but it had so many great comedic beats and had a great take on superhero school and breaking down the superhero/sidekick dichotomy and they’re still teenagers with teenage problems but that won’t stop them from saving the day. And also Ron Wilson, Bus Driver, was absolutely fucking priceless.

4. Cinderella (2015). In fact, Cinderella herself routinely gets a lot of flak just in general, I guess because people can’t understand why someone in her position wouldn’t just stand up to their abusers and leave (and where the fuck would she even go?? it’s not like she had anyone she could trust to take her in, and being treated like a servant in her own home was better than starving in the cold), but I just... love so much that the live action remake focuses on her kindness and her courage and just... Have courage, and be kind, and she offers forgiveness to the Lady Tremaine, even if she didn’t deserve it and wouldn’t take it, because that’s who Ella always was. There was no room in her heart for anger and bitterness, and that’s not to say that anyone who is angry at their abusers is wrong for it, but that’s not the only way to cope. And Ella got her happy ending because she never stopped being true to herself, and it’s just. So very beautiful.

5. Enchanted. It was a really cute movie but also a great look at the typical Disney Princess formula and turning it on its head while still showing such a deep love for the source of that formula and I just love it so much. Plus Patrick Dempsey. A+++

A9: Who was your first ship?

my first ship was probably Spike/Buffy? Though there was probably things I shipped from books before I knew what shipping even was? Like Tanis/Laurana from Dragonlance maybe?

B6: What is your favourite story trope? Why?

This is very hard. I love a lot of fanfic tropes. I think most of them are some variant of ‘people who are feelings for each other, but denies it, are forced to work together/be in close proximity and have to admit their feelings’. This spans everything from Bed Sharing to Fake Relationships to Fuck or Die - but not exclusively, just the whole pining and the misunderstandings and all that it brings with it. I think I like it because of the tension and the eventual emotional and (possibly, but not required) physical release. 

More recently, I love any fics that deal with the ‘life after getting together’ too - I think there is a large potential for exploring established relationships (ah! that is the trope lol) and so many interesting stories to tell. 

C8: What is one plot twist you wish people would stop using? 

I’m not really sure anymore? I don’t think I see one thing too much, and I don’t think there is something I can point out that I want to stop? I have a few DA plot points I don’t like, but usually they are more like ‘tropes’ and tagged, so I just don’t read - I think if people enjoy writing it they should. 

In addition - even my favorite things can be done badly, and even the most questionable twist can be done well. 

D10 What is one story idea you really want to read but no one has written yet?

I’d still like to see a Buffy/Dragon Age crossover. In general I find crossovers intriguing and I would like to see more? 

I’m sure there are other things I have just forgotten them, lol.

This has been sitting in my inbox for weeks and weeks as I’ve deliberated over my answers, and I think I’m finally ready. Thanks for sending this Blue! Prepare for the salt:

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

We’re just going to dive right into the deep end here, so I have to say Shallan/Adolin. I wanted to like them, I really did. I went into Oathbringer wanting to be convinced of their relationship because apparently it’s not going away anytime soon, and I actually wound up hating it waaaaaay more than I did before. Even if I didn’t prefer her with Kaladin I wouldn’t ship that. Even characters in the book itself were rolling their eyes and gagging by the end. I don’t understand how y'all are so on board with this, like, they’re not good for each other. Adolin doesn’t really understand anything about her, and Shallan doesn’t come up with one nice thing about him that’s not his physical appearance. I could actually rant about this for a while but I’m probably making enough people mad as it is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As a side note, can we as a fandom talk about tagging ships? Personally, I think it’s (necessary) a great idea b/c a. easier for people who like the ship to find content and b. allows people who don’t like/hate the ship to ignore it without having to unfollow/block people.

For a few others, I don’t get Ed/Ling or Greed/Ling as romantic pairs

9. Most disliked character(s)? Why?

Of all time? Pete Shanahan from Stargate SG-1. That dude is a creepy stalker and also the worst.

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

The Luka and Kagami arc in Ladybug? Does that count as an arc? In any case I cannot fathom why y'all are leaning into these new ships. The love square is complicated and frustrating enough without adding additional people.

12. Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

I really like season 9-10 of Stargate SG-1 with the Ori? Vala is one of my favorite characters so it was great to see her shine, and I really like Cam and General Landry too. Do I miss the heck out of O’Neill and Hammond? Absolutely, but the show was still good.

13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character?

I’m trying to think of a Fullmetal one for this… Um, Olivier is great but not my favorite ever? Not even my favorite female character from FMA? That should do it.

16. Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen…

Instead of Shallan choosing Adolin at the end of Oathbringer, she should have chosen her own damn self because homegirl is not in a good place mentally for a serious relationship, especially not a marriage like holy hell what were you thinking?? Uhmmm, I don’t think I have one for this.

17. Does not shipping something ‘popular’ mean you’re in denial and/or biased?

Absolutely not. Everyone has their own preferences, especially where characters and relationships are concerned. Like, even the pinnacle of a perfect relationship (super healthy, great communication, amazing chemistry, etc) isn’t going to appeal to everyone. I’ve had my fair share of canon/popular otps, and a lot of straight up trash ships, and they’re all special to me. It just comes down to personal taste.

WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER? hollstein definitely holds a special place in my heart, but i also am a proud supporter of carmilla and ell. i love their dynamic and i love exploring their relationship bc what we got in canon was... not substantial.

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO WRITE WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?: definitely not any abusive ships, whether that be physical or emotional abuse. everyone loves a little bit of angst, but i’m not going to cross that line and have one half of (or even both) be abused. other than that.... really not that picky i don’t think? except no men because carm is a lesbian!!!!!!!!!

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?: sjdnfadskjkafnasfjksdf this question makes me laugh because pretty much any ship with carm is technically going to have a pretty large age gap (she’s like... 320 years old or smthn). but like realistically speaking, i’m willing to go along with fairly big age gaps because even though carm looks like she’s in her early twenties, she’s a lot older mentally.

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?: a wee bit?? as long as our characters click, i’ll ship it if my writing partner is down to as well! if it happens, it happens. and carm is a romantic, so it’s bound to happen.

Why did you start shipping Ereri?

Thematically speaking, what kind of content do you most enjoy making?

Goh, I guess I enjoy writing things that aren't usually written about and stuff that I care about. Usually those are lgtb topics such as sexuality and gender, but I also really enjoy making fluffy (and eventually, smutty) modern aus with looootsss of pining!

What is the work you're proudest of and why?

What inspires you to create?

Music and every day life.

Is there any work you'd like to share that inspires you?

I just don't really get inspired from other people's work. I can enjoy their content but I've never experienced a moment of inspiration while reading/looking at someone's content. I hope that doesn't make me sound like an asshole :')

What projects are you currently working on?

Eren doesn't like dates (the blind date gone wrong fic I linked earlier) and a secret project that I'm very excited about. I call it 'the ultimate gay fic' if I talk about it with the two people who know that I'm writing it.

What are your strengths as a writer/artist?

Another hard one! Jesus, uhmmm. I don't know if this is even a thing, but I think the way I write my drabbles is a strength of mine? 

What is an area in your work which you're trying to improve on?

The length of my stories and conveying emotions. I'd love to be one of those writers who makes people laugh, cry, giggle while they read my work! 

What advice do you have for other creators?

DO IT FOR YOU! I cannot stress this enough. Don't get discouraged when you don't get a lot of notes/reactions if you upload something new and flip off the haters.

Do you have any pets?

Two rats!

How do you relax?

Reading/writing while drinking a nice cup of tea, preferably with the ratties running around somewhere.

I don't really have a dream day. Any day where I can just read/write all day is a perfect day.

Besides attack on titan, I love orange is the new black and Hannibal.
