After several hours of working in the tech room, trying to clean and repair things, Farrah needed a break. She would have loved to go help down in the west wing with all the people, but she wasn’t sure if she was in the right state of mind to do so. She had used her power so much within the few hours, fixing as much of the tech as she could that she was practically drained at this point. Making her way to the kitchen area to get some water, she turned a corner and ended up bumping into someone. “Oh, I’m sorry.” She took a step back from them. “Guess I am too tired to be paying attention right now.” She said quietly.

Being a spy was natural to Laurel. She thrived on secrets. At age seven, she learned that with a tight touch and some concentration she could dig into the minds of her companions, but the process was tedious and it usually served her better to look into their eyes and persuade them to tell her what she wanted to know. But that was the interesting thing about secrets. Usually the ones most interesting were the ones you didn’t know you wanted to find.
“Need a hand?” she asked, seeing the mutant struggling. She offered a gorgeous glossy smirk that could almost be mistaken for a smile.

Croft entered the compound, dropping a worn leather shoulder bag on the warped hardwood floor of the foyer with a flourish. She surveyed the comings and goings for a moment with her hands on her hips and sighed. “Honey, I’m home! Anyone around here willing to give a poor mutant a bed? I’ve got skills. I took a marketing class once in college.”

Spotting a lonely person, Luke made his way over with a kind smile. “Do you need help with anything?” He asked, the smile not leaving his lips once. He was trying to find a distraction - not that it should be hard around here after what happened - and it seemed helping them would do just fine for now.

“Isn’t anyone worried?” Ophelia said. She cracked one eye open from where she was previously doing sun salutations. Her arms stretched towards the sky. “I mean, not just about what Sentinel Services is doing, but other people; Normal people.”

Nevaeh had been wandering the compound for quite some time now, trying to wrap her brain around some kind of new prank she could do. She hadn’t done any in the past month or so and it was getting weird. Making her way into one of the common areas, she sat down and placed a notepad down in front of her. “Alright, time to brainstorm some ideas.” She pressed her pencil against the pad, but it didn’t move. She just sat there, staring at the paper. “Come on, you have super speed, this should be easy. Just got to set up some, uh, some,” The girl let out a sigh. “I am losing my touch. Though it doesn’t help that there aren’t many resources down here.” She looked up and looked at some of the people around the room. Ideas were completely gone from the girl’s head, so instead she just called someone over. “Can you come here please? I need some help with something. Maybe you can help.”

Finley had just woken up in the middle of the day a few minutes ago and was now sitting out in the opening at a table, working on some drawing in his sketch book to work on his power more. He was trying really hard to focus, but every little thing kept distracting him from the task at hand. The furthest he had gotten was a simple rose. “Gosh, Fin, should have done this in my room instead.” Once he had finished the rose, he sat his pen down and took a deep breath, focusing on the drawing as his eyes glowed blue for a moment. He held his hand out to the page as his fingers began to turn to a greenish glow. The rose began to come off the page, but about half way through the process he heard someone speak and it cause the rose to freeze halfway through so only half was coming off the page. “What the-” he cut himself off and looked to the source of the comment. “C’mon, I was so close to having a beautiful rose. Now it’s just weird.”

Being on the run was getting damn old. Owen hoped that the third time really was a charm, because he figured if Sentinel Services caught him a fourth, he wouldn’t be brought back alive. The compound was his safest option, at least until he figured things out, like where they had taken his mother -- he feared he wouldn’t see her again. Owen wasn’t sure where to start at the underground; everyone was disheveled from the recent explosion and though he preferred to be in the background pretending not to care, he figured the other occupants could use some help. “What can I do to help?” he offered to an unfamiliar face -- then again, everyone here was new to him.

Desiree woke up in the room she had passed out in earlier that morning. She placed a hand on her head as she turned onto her back. “What the fuck just happened?” She asked, rather quietly. She had a terrible headache and her throat felt incredibly dry. She hadn’t passed out from her fire breathing in weeks, so she wasn’t sure why she felt so drained suddenly. Her emotions seemed to not be screaming at her as much now though, so at least that was a plus. She took a moment took a moment to take a breather before sitting up. She jumped and let out a small yelp when she saw another person in the room near her box of pictures. “How long have you been there?” When she noticed her pictures still sprawled out all over the floor, she quickly moved over and picked them all up. As she put them in the box, she looked at the other person. “You didn’t look at these did you?”

“ I’m REALLY beginning we ned to have a course on knocking around here, because no one seems to get the memo that sometimes a dude needs a little privacy.” Though a seriousness to his tone, Zane couldn’t help but crack an amused smile, tightening the knot on his towel, gesturing for the other to come in as he started searching through his drawers for a shirt to throw on. “ But really , is everything okay? Or were you just hoping to catch the show unnoticed.”
#uhqstart#he looks so serious#but really i just wanted an excuse to use a shirtless gif#feel free to assume connections#he's a founder / leader#makes a habit of introducing himself to EVERYONE and trying to get to know at least the basics#if you wanna discuss hmu

Sybil didn’t know how long she’d walked. Her shoes had given out on her back on the I-75 and she couldn’t remember what they even were to begin with. Instead, she continued on, her feet walking over soft earth and broken glass alike, her head in a daze. She couldn’t think straight; minutes became hours and hours became days. Had she been wandering for months or was it minutes? Eventually she reached the dusty front walk up to the abandoned library that served as the base for the Atlanta Underground, and she collapsed to her knees.
“Hello?” Her voice rang hollow. “Is anyone there?”

❝ You’re showing your next move before you even make it. ❞ Luke said matter-of-factly, observing the mutants body language as they twisted and turned their body before actually making their next attack. ❝ If that was a real enemy they would have anticipated your every move. ❞ He leaned his weight against the door frame, folding his arms across his chest and surveyed the rest of the mutants who occupied the training room. He understood why the training facility was becoming the hot spot of activity lately, he’d spent more hours in here himself than usual, and he couldn’t blame anybody else for doing the same either. Sentinel services were cracking down on their hunt for mutants, their kind were being arrested for nothing more than existing these days. He understood the need to blow off a little extra steam.
#uhqstart#god this is garbage im sorry#feel free to be the mutant in question or just about anybody else

The lockdown hadn’t been the most fun Ophelia had experienced in her life, but she was grateful that they were still allowing her out to tend to the garden. Despite the calendar saying it was March, it was bitterly cold in Georgia and she feared some of the plants would die. She pulled an over sized sweater she’d stolen from Ethan, who she was sure had stolen it from Walden judging by the size of the sleeves, and crouched down among the tomato plants. “Come to help?”

❛ All this shit hitting the fan was bound to happen at some point, okay? We weren’t going to be safe here for forever. We lost lives and people are injured, however, there’s only so much we can do for them. Do you know what else we actually can do? Find out who the hell did this. ❜

“Oi! You! C’mon here,” T.D. said loudly at a person who seemed about ready to get in a scuffle with one of the other people. “You seem t’be in a fuss, y’good?” He stood next to the perpetrator, hands behind his back, a stern look on his face. “There is enough shite in this world without y’bringing it in here.”
