You say Leo’s and usagi (Miyamoto a) personality’s class, I’m genuinely wondering what points you have? (I think I worded that right) I love seeing other people’s thoughts on characters it helps me kinda get a full understanding on the characters themselves as I struggle with understanding people or characters 🙈

ok now this is a fun ask

so (mainly rambling abt my rise interpretation) theyre both incredibly similar yet were raised in different environments so theyre kind of 2 sides of the same coin, able to see their own flaws in the other which pisses them off a lot at first

opposites attract eachother all that, samurai and ninja already had a rivalry so theyre kinda the representation of that

in my version theres also the aspect of performing involved, how leo sees it as something admirable and glorifies it but usagi grows to hate it and sees it as a chore in his life (whole deal with big mama)

but at the end of the day they have similar ideals and goals, just different ways of approaching them. they both care a lot and will fight tooth and nail to protect, making it very fun to have them work either against or with eachother

also i really like how they kinda break their own character conventions, leo is very much an extrovert and incredibly brash but is also surprisingly smart. hes great at planning ahead and most importantly follow the plan by being unpredictable to his enemies

usagi on the other side is more introverted and reserved (in theory) but is also like, incredibly impusive, if you read the comics he will constantly improvise and just throw himself at situations. his whole deal is being unpredictable from his training but hes just straight up a menace (almost killed his childhood best friend at age 7 or so with a rock caine and able style)

theyre both stupid and smart at the same time which gives you a lot to work with as they can kinda exchange both roles seamlessly

criticisms of xmen for the way it tries to represent every social issue at once and fails to do so are obviously correct but i think people get too taken in by those very obvious examples of like white authors writing white characters as victims of fantasy racism, and ignore the many instances where the writers are actually part of the identities theyre writing about and sometimes the writing is bad not out of misplaced well intentions or insensitivity but because the politics and intentions of that author are still bad even if they are themselves jewish/gay/disabled/etc

Jon's cursing vocabulary has got to be wild. When he gets back from Earth-3 he's got some new space swears (lortgin). The LoSH have bespoke future swears (qrot in Bendis, sprock in other LoSH comics). I don't know what Lois and Clark's personal swearing standards are but there are currently two kids living in their house so I'm guessing he's got some of those watered down kid swears on autopilot (frick). Not to mention he apparently knows every language ever (see that one AC Power Girl backup) so that's gotta diversify the pot. And then there's those family members and friends who almost certainly swear like sailors. Real 20 sided dice situation when that kid is put in a curse worthy position.

I was thinking and couldn’t figure out who is more suitable for the role of Cat Blanc. On the one hand, this is obvious to Kokichi since he has the miraculous of a cat and this is more like him, so to speak. But on the other hand, the main point of the Cat Blanc episode was to give Marinette a justification for her paranoia about their secret identities. Causing her to push Cat away. Now that sounds like Kokichi. Anyway, just food for thought, Have a nice day!

first of all thanks for the ask !! i love yapping !!

second !! one of my biggest gripes about miraculous is that ive always felt that chat noir is treated like a glorified sidekick . they make a big fuss about the " balance of the universe " being repressed by the black cat and the ladybug and yet its so clear that in the show's eyes the ladybug is way more important !!

some of this is just that marinette is just more of a leader/planner than adrien , butttt in the case of kaito and kokichi , theyre both planners and leaders in their own right ( i mean. obviously ) so !! i think that is an interesting dynamic to play with !!

in all honesty , i really see kokichi being more concerned over secret identities !! i mean , kaito is big on trust and kokichi is simply not .

all that being said , if one of them were to be akumatized , it would probably be kaito . he's simply more likely to be overcome by emotion , as kokichi is pretty good at burying that shit down . ( tho i think kaito is too , but that's a discussion for another day . )

this is more of a subtle thing but i love love love love LOVE how the characters have more personality than just their talents!!! heck, i forgot what Arei and Eden’s talents were until the end of chapter 1 because it was never really brought up or relevant to the plot. not in a bad way!! most fangans, and original DR itself, tends to make a character’s entire personality based around their Ultimate, which can seem shallow and uncreative at times. i’m not saying people can’t do this with their characters if they want to, and it can still be good if executed well, but i’m really glad DRDT didn’t go with this trope. they MATCH their respective talents, but still have a lot of personality outside of it. it feels more realistic, you know? DRDTdev did an absolutely phenomenal job at writing.
