I started spinning a beautiful merino braid with viscose in it, and I'm learning a lot of things!

Mostly, I'm learning that I do not and probably will not ever enjoy spinning beautiful merino braids with viscose in them.

This is a good batt. Very happy with this batt. It's mostly bfl and corriedale, with the fuzz on top being angora and I think some cashmere.

It spins up like so. There's also a companion batt that has no fuzz, which I'm gonna ply with this one.

I'm just trying to decide if I want to 3 ply it or not. This seems very thin. It would make a nice shawl maybe ? So perhaps I should keep it thin.

The other thing is, and I think it's because this is literally the cheapest espinner on the market, it's super hard to control the amount of twist, bc the knob constantly needs to be turned up as weight is added to the bobbin, but I never know how much. It feels like the take-up is directly related to speed on this, rather than them being totally separate systems like on my wooden wheel, or even on a spindle.

So I think I'm underspinning :/ I might just have to keep the bobbins light ? I remember that being an issue on this machine--I was almost never able to fill a bobbin past halfway before I ran into take-up issues. It's a problem on my wooden wheel too, with flax spinning mostly. Anyway.
