Chapter One
Life is going pretty well for Danny Fenton. He's a top engineer at Wayne Enterprises, has an apartment full of plants, and is resolutely ignoring his ghostly side. Or at least he was until a run in with Poison Ivy's plants resulted in a night spent cuddling some Bats as a giant, otherwordly bird. (Or birdritch, if one would rather.) Danny is more than a little embarrassed in the morning and more than a little confused when his life starts filling up with Waynes over the next few weeks. Why did Bruce Wayne have to be so charming? And why did his family have to feel like home?

Chapter 6
“It’s adorable how you think I’m letting you out of my sight,” Bruce said. He rested his hand lightly on the small of Danny’s back and started to guide the other out of the box. “Again, you falling over the edge of the box, down the stairs, dramatically onto some absurdly pointy bit of Gotham architecture—these are all things I am not going to take a risk of happening to you.” “You are such a father.” “I don’t know if that’s a compliment or an insult,” Bruce said honestly as they took the back stairs down to avoid the crowd.

Chapter 3
He wasn’t in a hotel. Or an apartment. Or any sort of room. No, he was in a cave. As suspiciously well-furnished cave complete with a grouping of vigilantes watching him curiously. “Well, at least it wasn’t an orgy,” Danny grumbled. He heard someone trip further into the cave.

Chapter 4
“Lucius, we can be subtle!” Tim said, honestly offended. “We do subtle all the time. You know how well I do undercover.” “Exactly,” Lucius said severely. Tim tilted his head. “ Undercover you is subtle. Tim Drake-Wayne you is a menace,” Lucius said. “That last name is a pox upon common sense.” Tim opened his mouth to argue before he slowly closed it and slumped back into his seat.

Chapter 5
“So, what’s the verdict, doc?” Danny asked. He was trying really hard to keep his tone light and to not fidget. Mostly because when he fidgeted the wings moved, and then he remembered that he had wings. He really, really wanted an answer to the wings thing. “Well, Phantom,” Frostbite said as he continued to look at the data, “your status as a halfa continues to bring about most interesting developments at the most interesting pacing!” Danny groaned. He didn’t want to be interesting. There had been enough of being interesting in his lifetime already. Couldn’t he just have a calm rest of his life? Couldn’t all of these ‘interesting developments’ wait until he was properly dead?

Chapter 2
Danny lost… everything. He didn’t know… He wasn’t… There were liminals close. They were young and in danger. Danny had to protect them.

Chapter 16
“My… they… the Fentons are ecto-biologists,” Danny explained as the rest of the room cataloged the details in the pictures. “Ghost biologists?” Tim asked with furrowed brows. “Yeah. Not that they ever met the ethics that biologists go by. But they didn’t think ghosts were sentient let alone sapient, so I don’t know why they even called themselves that. They didn’t… ‘the screams means it’s working’,” Danny said, choking on something between a laugh and a sob. Jason cursed, the words a low rumble of anger that echoed through the rest of the room. Dick had to get up and pace. He brushed his fingers lightly over his family as he moved through the room, assuring himself they were all there and alright. Bruce caught his fingers and squeezed. Dick huffed but settled lightly on the arm of Bruce’s chair.

Dick's not entirely sure how he ended up in the hotel room with Wally and Danny. This night was supposed to be setting his boyfriend up with the handsome stranger who's laugh had made Wally trip going up the stairs. Not that Dick was complaining, not when Danny seemed so eager to be good for them.

Patterns Done and Undone
Weekly dinners with his little wing was more than Dick ever thought he could have again. It was a chance that he was going to hold onto and not let go. It was enough. It had to be.

Chapter 10
“I’m fine.” Bruce didn’t pull his hand back. Instead, his whole face softened in a sad way that confused Danny. “We aren’t afraid of you, Danny,” Bruce said. His voice was a comforting low rumble that Danny wanted desperately to trust. “You’ve been nothing but kind to my family, and today you kept them safe. The physical changes you went through to do that do not scare me.” Danny glanced down and away, trying to avoid looking at any of them in the tight space of the car. “They scare me.”

Sometimes the words clog up Danny's throat and he can't, doesn't want to talk. Luckily, he can always go to Jason's. The words still clog up Danny’s throat, but at least it's easier to breath there. At least he's cared for there.

Chapter 9
It had been two weeks since the last rogue Wayne visit. Danny hadn’t intended to keep track. There was no reason to. One visit from Cass and one from Tim did not a pattern make. He tried to dismiss the observation. He had plenty to do; it wasn’t like he didn’t have friends. The bi-weekly trivia group would start meeting again soon. He also had a TTRGP session that did its best to meet around all that life threw at them. Tucker and him played online games when they could make schedules match, and he and Sam talked when she was stateside. He even had regular enough lunches with coworkers! Still, there had been something different about spending time with the Wayne family.

Chapter 7
“We could always look up where he lives,” Tim suggested. Bruce turned slowly so not to jostle the sleeping man on his shoulder and gave his son a tired look. “No, we can’t.” “Sure, you can. WE has to have it on file.” “That would be a gross misuse of my position and an invasion of privacy,” Bruce said. “As in something Danny could very well sue for, as us taking him home has nothing to do with his work and why the company has his address on file.” “What about his driver’s license?” Duke suggested.

Chapter 8
Danny looked up as Tim Drake-Wayne strode into the lab and closed the door quietly behind him. “Tim?” “Mm-hum?” Tim hummed as he sat down his thermos and then shed his messenger bag, coat, and school jacket onto an open part of a desk. Danny watched on with bemusement. The kid looked half asleep. “Not that it isn’t great to see you again, but what are you doing here, honey?”

Through a Window
Part 4 of One Stop Soup Shop
Dick returns from an off world mission with the need to check that it hadn't happened again, that his little wing hadn't died again, burrowing under his skin like an itch he couldn’t scratch. He isn't expecting someone else.
